Making Easter Fun for Everyone!

"Take in fabulous bay views from this lively beachfront restaurant. The profits go towards training disengaged adults to become chefs. Unfussy Italian menus have a Cornish twist and feature homemade pastas and steaks from the Josper grill. At lunch they also serve antipasti at the unbookable bar counter." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

Jamie Oliver Restaurants in Administration | Jamie’s Italian Collapses | Eater London

"A franchise operation near Newquay that will remain open and is explicitly unaffected by the administration affecting the UK restaurant business; it is one of only three UK sites confirmed to continue trading. Operated under a franchise arrangement, this coastal restaurant is insulated from the restructuring of the chef’s directly owned UK restaurant portfolio." - Adam Coghlan

"From the moment you step foot into the welcoming interiors of this iconic beachfront hotel, you know you are in for a treat. The decor is elegant yet cosy, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and there’s attention to detail at every turn. Rooms are tasteful, high-spec and present in a range of configurations – including family suites, beach lofts and apartments, some with self-catering. Ideal for groups and families. The hotel offers a variety of activities for them, including a kids’ club and a ‘Kids Zone’ play area, and there are three family-friendly restaurants. The Extreme Academy on the iconic Watergate Bay beach and is on your doorstep, offering surfing, stand-up paddlesurfing, traction kiting and more. " - Matthew Roach

We were very fortunate to win a competition for a 2 night weekend luxury spa break at The Watergate Bay Hotel, including fine dining experience at Zacry's restaurant and full body massages in the Swim Club. It far exceeded our expectations, the staff were all very friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The views were totally amazing, our room was beautiful, the fine dining at Zacry's was just superb, the full body massages were out of this world. Prior to winning this break, my wife sadly received a diagnosis of Alzheimer's which of course has changed our outlook on life, and we recently renewed our wedding vows and as such when we won this break we decided to treat it like a honeymoon. Such an amazing special memorable time at Watergate Bay Hotel, thank you. We are now planning on returning next year of a longer stay.

This was our second stay at Watergate Bay, this time for our anniversary, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The hotel has such a special feel — relaxed yet full of thoughtful details that make the experience memorable.||||The sea views are simply unbeatable, and waking up to the sound and sight of the waves really sets this place apart. The breakfast selection is amazing —so much choice. We also really appreciated the use of Land & Water products in the room, a lovely touch that adds to the sense of luxury and connection with the coast.||||It’s expensive but you get what you pay for and they do know how to make a stay feel special.

Another Memorable Stay at Watergate Bay We returned to Watergate Bay Hotel for our annual escape and once again, it delivered a memorable experience. Last year, we found ourselves without a place to stay at the last minute and the hotel went above and beyond to accommodate us even arranging three different rooms to make it work. Despite the shuffle, we were grateful for their effort and flexibility. This year we booked in advance, though the room we hoped for was already taken. Our initial room was unfortunately located next to a large vent pipe which made it feel like we were aboard a ship or plane so we requested a move. The team handled it with care and we appreciated their responsiveness. But as always, the true highlight of our stay was breakfast. The team greeted us each morning with warmth and genuine smiles creating a sense of comfort and familiarity that is hard to find. It was the standout last year and it absolutely was again this time. Their energy and dedication never go unnoticed. A special thank you to Debs, who kindly kept my flask topped up with black coffee every day such a thoughtful touch that made mornings feel extra special. We said goodbye today, but we are already looking forward to next time. I always make a point to tell the team: breakfast at Watergate Bay isn’t just a meal it’s a moment of joy and thanks to the people who make it so. Juliana and Barry Thorne

We’ve stayed at Watergate Bay for over 15 years and it’s always special. Booking was easy, check-in welcoming, and housekeeping excellent. Breakfast was a highlight, with friendly staff and great quality.||||A few niggles: the guest app was unreliable, our village apartment is ready for a refresh, and outdoor furniture felt tired for the price point. Dining has also become more formal in the Living Space, which isn’t quite the relaxed style we’ve always loved, and service didn’t quite match the fine-dining feel, and the Beach Hut felt rushed with a late booking. The Jacuzzi and sauna were also out of action during our stay.||||Still, we had a wonderful time and will definitely return. Would happily recommend, with a few caveats.

The price of this hotel doesn’t match the experience. On arrival it felt chaotic, with sandy dogs and kids everywhere. Our small room was stuffy, with a bulky air-con unit awkwardly shoved out the window. It felt more like a Travelodge than a beach hotel. The staff were polite, but slow and never went the extra mile. Good points were that the food was nice and the pool with a view of the beach was cool. My rating is based on value for money. For the high price, I expected something special, which it definitely wasn’t. Fine if you’ve got kids or a dog, but otherwise, look elsewhere.

We had a truly fantastic experience with the Kids’ Zone at Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall, where our 6-month-old daughter Marnie was looked after on several occasions during our stay. The team – Victoria, Abbie, Nicki, and Jack – were simply brilliant: calm, patient, and full of warmth. From the very first drop-off, we felt totally at ease. The space is beautifully set up and clearly run by people who know exactly how to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for little ones. Marnie was always happy and settled when we picked her up – a clear sign she was in excellent hands. Victoria, Abbie, Nicki, and Jack all brought something special to the experience. Their gentle, professional manner and clear love for what they do made a real impression. They were attentive, caring, and completely tuned in to Marnie’s needs and personality, giving us total peace of mind each time we left her in their care. We can’t thank the Kids’ Zone team enough for the confidence they gave us, and for how wonderfully they cared for Marnie. They are a true asset to Watergate Bay Hotel, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any family traveling with young children. Thank you again, Victoria, Abbie, Nicki, and Jack – you’re all stars!

An average hotel in a good location but totally overpriced and unmemorable. ||||The setting is great and the staff are friendly but the price tag does not match what you get. There are better hotels around that don’t cost what this hotel charges.

A hotel with a lot of potential but very badly managed and poorly maintained. Also would not recommend going here as a couple as it feels like a Disney resort with children running around and screaming all day. Pool and sauna area dirty and in need of a deep clean. Also needs cleaning throughout the day if you’re gonna have kids coming straight from the beach all day. We stayed a week but only went to the pool once because it was just gross . The gym is tiny and has poor quality equipment. In our week stay, our room was only cleaned once to a high standard. The rest of the days was quite poor and on one day they left a dirty cloth. Service in the living space was really slow and just not acceptable for the price you pay- though food was good. Rarely able to call down to reception from the room as they wouldn’t answer. I emailed the hotel to tell them this and didn’t get an answer. Informed the hotel in advance that we were allergic to feathers and could not have cow milk yet our bedding had feathers and cow milk was put in the room each day despite repeatedly informing them of allergies and even leaving a note! Check in was appalling- rushed and very little information provided. No privacy in room 72 due to location- so had to close curtains most of the time- why not put in blinds so at least some natural light can come in whilst maintaining privacy? The location is great but for the price you pay for pretty standard rooms, you’re better off renting an apartment next to the hotel. I did give my feedback directly to the hotel and I did not get a response, hence this review ( so please don’t reply to say please get in contact- I did contact you via email and made my concerns known in person whilst staying). None of the issues I have raised are new - especially regarding the living space service , yet you clearly don’t do anything about it.
