"Nestled between a nail salon and a convenience store, Sellwood’s small and quaint Wei Wei serves thick, hand-pulled noodles and tender braised beef in a brooding, savory broth. Pickled mustard greens add a touch of lovely acidity, which keeps the dish balanced. The result is a super savory, ultra-satisfying bowl that is not to be missed." - Rebecca Roland

"The neighborhood was understandably upset when Wei Wei briefly shuttered in 2018, but the noodle house reopened, serving its hangover-curing noodle soup out of the laid back, cheery cafe space. Aside from the savory, rich noodle bowls that define the Taiwanese spot, the restaurant also serves pan-fried bao and sides like soy-marinated eggs and sauteed cauliflower with garlic." - Alex Frane

"A cheery Taiwanese cafe in the heart of the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood, Wei Wei has attracted loyal devotees for years with bowls of steamy beef noodle soup. But for picnicking purposes, a few orders of bao, folded over slabs of saucy braised beef or pork belly, will do the trick. Cold noodle salad, colorful with julienned veggies, also travels well. Wei Wei is a mere three blocks from the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, with plenty of park benches and spots for a well-placed blanket. Wei Wei is open for dine-in and takeout." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

"I learned Wei Wei, the Sellwood Taiwanese cafe known for beef noodle soup, closed on September 2 due to the owner’s health, per a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
