The Best Restaurants in Eugene, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Uniquely Chengdu, located right next to the University of Oregon campus, is a popular lunch spot for Chinese international students and an easy pick for a takeout order. The restaurant led by chef Kebing Sun serves Sichuan classics like boiled fish in chile sauce and dan dan noodles, but it also has some hard-to-find dishes, like a whole grilled fish dish served at your level of spice or Sichuan-style intestine. Hungry diners can also go all in on hearty hotpot. Delivery is available." - Brenna Houck

Near campus, this Chengdu specialist leans spicy and aromatic: steampot, grilled fish, cumin lamb, and sauerkraut beef bowls. Noted on Eater Portland’s Eugene guide; a go-to for students craving numbing heat and late study fuel.

Everything was amazing from the friendly and kind lady who served us to the delicious food. We ordered three dishes, and every single one was flavorful and well-prepared. I especially enjoyed the Griddle cooked pork ribs, so tasty and perfectly seasoned. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes, especially the hotpot! 😋

Google
Fun and quick Sichuan place next to University campus. Prices are good and food came out fast. I recommend the Kung Pao chicken, it has the Sichuan peppercorns and the tingly spicy bite! The orange chicken is a good option if you’re craving comfort food in the form of fried chicken.

Google
Szechuan style cuisine you must like your food spicy! Fish was great, but the fried rice was hard to chew….

Google
Really great service! The lady was super nice and helped us with our Hotpot. The Hotpot was super delicious and we were provided with a lot of different options. I don’t live locally but if I did I would come back frequently.

Kung pow chicken over rice was good Sweet and sour chicken vegetables were drowned in sauce Proportions felt kinda small for the price but hey maybe that’s just the economy.

No frills and very authentic Chinese food. It definitely is spicy so if you’re not good with spice, make sure to avoid anything on the menu with the peppers and even then, ask for it to be made less spicy. You’ve been warned ;) We got the garlic broccoli (O12), the sesame chicken with noodles (E4), and the griddle cooked boneless chicken (L4). We planned to share everything but the L4 dish had beef (we think) tongue, quail eggs, and all sorts of other pieces of things, we weren’t sure. Luckily my boyfriend is adventurous and loved it. I enjoyed the sesame chicken which was straightforward. The broccoli was good too but I think the sauce/oil had some corn starch in it and made it have a bit of a somewhat slimy texture at the end of the me. But truly the food was so delicious—I’m just pointing these things out because I feel it wouldn’t be fair to leave out those details. I would definitely come back here and recommend this place for lunch/dinner in Eugene.

My partner and I dined in here about one month ago. We ordered the cream cheese wantons, green onion pancakes, a side of rice, and the Mongolian beef. The portions were good and it was more than enough food for two people. We were very happy with the quality and quantity of food for the price. Recently we decided to order the same exact thing, except this time we ordered carry out. While the appetizers were the same, the Mongolian beef was a much smaller portion. It was not enough for two people. It's disappointing to pay the same price for an item (19$ so not cheap) and receive less than if you had dined in. While I would recommend dining in at this restaurant, I cannot recommend ordering carry out or delivery.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - spicy beef noodle soup (D4) and spicy hotpot noodle soup (D9). The food was good overall but the chili oil does cover the taste of the broth a bit. We were slight confused by the raw SPAM like protein in the hotpot soup as it didn’t quite fit the rest of the dish. Ambience: 4/5 - spacious shop with large windows that lets you people watch as you enjoy your meal. The store does feel older or the decorations isn’t kept up well. Service: 2/5 - only one lady managing the front of the store but she disappears to the back quite often. When we walked into the shop we weren’t quite sure if we were supposed to order at the front or sit at a table so we awkwardly stood and waited for about 2/3 minutes before she came back to the front. After we sat, she gave us a little pad and told us to write down what we wanted then walked away. There’s a sign that says they’re trying to save paper so pay at the cash register. We stood for about 3/4 before she came back up to address us. As I went through the payment process, I tried to input my phone number to get a receipt and she cancelled or rushed the prompt which doesn’t allow me to finish the process. I then asked for a physical receipt and she became a bit flustered trying to state they don’t print receipts. She did end up providing a copy! Value for price: 4/5 - decent food, reasonable price, but didn’t quite care for the service.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this place. The portions were generous, and I ended up ordering too much, but it was worth it. The service was spectacular, and the ambiance felt very home-like and cozy. A fantastic dining experience overall!

Yelp
There doesn't seem to be many Sichuanese spots in Eugene so it was cool to find this spot. I tried the Mapo Tofu and Sichuan grilled fish here. The Mapo Tofu was pretty decent. Not the best, not the worst. I think it could've been spicier and more numbing. The grilled fish was good too but very very salty. I also expected the grilled fish to come out bubbling like it's usually supposed to but it didn't. Seemed pre-cooked and not fresh. Still, the flavors were all good enough for me to be willing to come back! Service was quick and the ordering process was easy. I think it costs extra to get a box to go so consider bringing your own container! They are very environmentally conservative!

Yelp
They gave me boiled spaghetti for Asian noodles with zero spice/sauce on noodles. My friend & I had a very lackluster experience at this place. It was so bad, that a didn't even tip them.

Yelp
I ordered take out. The hot and sour soup was very good. The vegetable steam pot contained few veggies and had things like tripe and pork and shrimp which was an unpleasant surprise. Maybe it was just a mistake. Good soups for when you have a sore throat. Big portions. Would try again.

Yelp
Came for lunch. Was very hot inside restaurant and the water had no ice. We tried scallion pancake, a tofu dish and a cold noodle dish. Overall food was ok- I would not get any of the dishes again. The tofu was very greasy and not flavorful. The scallion pancake was crispy- tasted deep fried. Maybe because restaurant was hot but it was not appetizing. Noodles were ok.

Yelp
Short: this place is a gem of Chinese food! Absolutely delicious, flavorfully authentic, and steaming hot! I've ordered through GH a few times prior to a physical visit to the restaurant. The interior is spacious and you quickly get greeted. Menus are out the window and the first thing when you walk in. Service was quick and efficient. [Food & Cost] I ordered kung pao chicken with noodles, part of their daily lunch specials. [$13]. Having worked in a Chinese restaurant for a few years I'm very familiar with my favorite. Yes, it sometimes can be on the oily side, but its piping hot, deliciously made. Plus I can hear the wok in the back. [Quick Note] When I was dining, I saw a few ladies hand-making some dumplings, so you know it's fresh and delicious food! Honestly, overall, Uniquely Chengdu is not only a take-out favorite but a Chinese favorite for me!

Yelp
We were craving for Asian food after having American food for all of our meals for all 3 days. I was a little hesitant finding a good Asian, let alone a Chinese, restaurant within Eugene, OR. Based on Yelp reviews and recommendations, we ended trying out Uniquely Chengdu. This place is a bit of self-service and party with dine-in service. All the patrons have to write down their own orders and take it to the front counter. Understandable, given the limited number of staff in the restaurant. The lady sever was very nice and did great in getting our food served quickly. We actually thought it was too quick! Hahaha I especially liked the grilled fish on the hot griller. I miss eating spicy food. It was amazing how they had so much items in the dish with the fish: tofu skin, celery, tripe, seaweed, mushroom ears, cauliflower, and French fries. It was delicious. The cumin lamb was also a hit with the adults. The kids loved the veggie fried rice and XioLimgBao (steamed dumplings). My younger son devoured the beef noodle soup. He can eat a whole serving on his own. The kids also ordered from their Asian blended drinks. Most of them got the mango Yakut. They wanted the brown sugar drink but they ran out :( Overall, this is a great place to get good Chengdu cuisine and if your craving for something spicy. Maybe you can ask for the dishes to be a little bit spicier if you love spicy food. The spice level was very mild for my tastebuds.

Yelp
We ordered take out a few days ago from this university hang, and it was pretty good. The portions are small, but it tasted pretty authentic and we enjoyed what we ordered: broccoli chicken, chicken chow mein, kungpao chicken, and spicy beef noodle soup. The flavors were very good, a little salty, but good. The prices are decent--not as high as some Chinese places in town: about 13-17, depending on the dish. We'd order again from them. :)

Yelp
I went back and tried the General Tso's Chicken over noodles. It was so good and spicy! Ask for extra napkins. The pork xiao long bao was pretty good too. They charge a dollar for a to-go box so I'll probably bring Tupperware next time. Will definitely return!

Yelp
This is one of my top two favorite Chinese restaurants in Eugene. It has some pretty good Sichuan food, and I am always quite surprised the variety and quality of the food here. I have tried many menu items here, from Dan Dan Noodle, their Boiled Fish Filet w/Chili Sauce, Chengdu Vegetable Steam Pot, etc. I'm definitely a spicy food eater, and the fact that this place leaves me sweating is a bonus. The food uses Sichuan peppercorns, which is a must - the numbing spicy always makes me want to eat more! Although my stomach always hates me afterwards, in the moment, the heat and the spice keeps me going... I haven't tried their more American style dishes and can't vouch for those, but for some really good spicy Sichuan style Chinese food, give Uniquely Chengdu a try!

William J.

Yelp
Horrible experience. Hair in food. Undercooked pork wontons confirmed by kitchen staff. Food was subpar in taste. Dirty ambiance. Staff not apologetic and didn't seem to care about these issues.

Yelp
I had food delivered because I was not feeling like being in public. So I cannot speak to service or ambiance. The food was mostly ok. It didn't wow me, but it also wasn't bad. I ordered a lot as I'd never eaten there and wanted to make sure I found something I liked. I'm a huge fan of egg drop soup when done well. This looked promising but had zero flavor. I'm not sure how they did that. I tossed it. The shrimp wontons were the best of all that I ordered, lots of flavor. Saved those leftovers. The cream cheese wontons were about what you would expect but a little overly salty. They were delivered in a plastic container which lead to them being less than crispy, but presumably in the restaurant this would be a different outcome. I ate them all. Lastly, General Tso's chicken. I have a feeling that many people would really like this dish, but for me it fell really short. I will say, I liked the option of ordering noodles instead of rice (which I did). To me the dish was incredibly too sweet. Like sugar chicken. Each piece of chicken was also heavily battered and fried. This of course made the chicken crunchy and tasty, but I primarily got batter. There were some pieces with seemingly no chicken at all inside. The larger pieces were good, but I would say the ratio of batter to chicken was about 50/50 on the larger pieces. Personally, I don't feel the chicken needed batter at all, but that is just my preference- I do think a lot of people would like this dish. It just wasn't for me. The noodles were gummy. I ate some of the dish, tried to pick the chicken out of the batter and tossed the rest.

Yelp
The food is fantastic!! My mom and I were visiting from out of Oregon and wanted to eat some authentic Chinese food and this was everything we could dream about! Tastes exactly like the food you would get in Chengdu China. The service was quick and polite. The ambiance is very relaxing to enjoy your food in peace. Definitely recommend everyone to try Uniquely Chengdu whether you are visiting or are from Eugene. Try the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and Eggplant in Garlic Sauce!

Yelp
My King Pao chicken was very good, but I would have preferred more peanuts and smaller pieces of green pepper. My wife's orange chicken was delicious. Lunch special prices were very reasonable. Skylights added nice natural light, but the inside is just good enough for college students. Counter staff friendly.

Yelp
What a fun, Dining experience while visiting Eugene. I was looking for a place that was open and not a chain. It wasn't very busy but probably had a lot to do with the fact that the school at the University was already out of session. Service was fast and kind, food had wonderful flavor, but my only critique were that my soup dumplings had holes in them and had leaked out most of the soup. I really enjoyed the green onion pancake, but they were really different from others that I have had, as these were light and fried.
google avatar

Lantz S.

Yelp
So many authentic Chinese dishes on the menu. Everything I've ever tried here is packed with flavor. If you want typical Oregon Chinese food you might be disappointed, but if you're adventurous enough to eat something you'd more likely find in China, this is the place to go. Not sure what's going on with the name change but it's the same menu.

Yelp
Right next to University of Oregon. Rice was not free. They took card. Had a bathroom, and the spicy chicken was really good!!

Yelp
Grabbed take out from here on NYE. Had the Cumin Lamb and Green Beans...absolutely delicious!! Highly recommended. Closet thing to Kung Fu Bistro (RIP) I've been able to find. Really good. I'll be back!

Yelp
there was no music which was a little awk but the food was great. the broccoli in the broccoli beef was cooked perfectly and flavored very well. i also liked the addition of pineapple in the sweet and sour chicken. the fried rice had a flavor that i didn't really expect and didn't really like but i'm sure someone would. they refilled our water MAAD quick, they wanted us HYDRATED. all in all good stuff and i like that their menu is lettered and numbed for an easy pressing experience

Yelp
Sometimes, a little hole in the wall will really surprise you. This was one of those times. We were exploring the UO campus since our kid starts there in the fall, and wanted something different for lunch. We just happened to stroll past Chengdu and so thought we'd give it a spin. The menu is mostly Szechuan, and boy was it spicy - not in a bad way just perfectly, lip-tingling, tongue-smacking spicy. Noodle dishes were perfectly prepared, steaming hot, and very reasonable - just like you'd expect on a college campus. I hope the UO students know what a gem they have here! Wonton soup was authentic, lots of veggies and flavor, overall this place just did not disappoint. Their "wall of encouragement" full of wonderful messages really brought a smile to our faces while we were enjoying our lunch - who wouldn't like to read uplifting messages with spicy food? All in all just a perfect place for a spicy Chinese lunch - can't wait to get back there and try some more of their specialties.!

Yelp
The food here is AMAZING! The food was delicious and no greasy at all.Loved it all. I'm Happy I found these noodle again! But anyway...They have best Spicy Szechuan fish and that's all that matters!Woo.I'll definitely return just for them, and the rest of their menu looks enticing as well.

Yelp
Ummm...AMAZING! Just go. Excellent food. Good luck finding better Chinese anywhere in Eugene

Yelp
Envy for the university students that they could enjoy such authentic Chinese restaurant just near by the campus. Ordered Vine Pepper Fish, Spicy Fish, and appetizers in 2 visits. Mainly the menu is Szechuan cuisine (from Southwest China), which dominates the great deal of famous Chinese dishes. The owner/chef of this particular restaurant came from Los Angeles (California) and brought the best selection to northwest that we might not find easily in Portland and Seattle. --- 2021.05.15. Update: Stopped by here on our way back to Eugene, ordered Eggplant with Garlic Sauce (鱼香茄子 $12.99), Chengdu Style Chicken Salad (盐酥鸡块 $8.99), and certainly 2 of the Lamb Kebab (羊肉串 $9.99 for 4).

Annie H.

Yelp
Be aware!! You maybe the lucky one got "custom fee" on your bill! It's been a long time that I haven't walked into this restaurant. The service was not like before. Now it is more like self-service. I'm fine with it. The food was fine. But, after I received the bill, I saw a "custom fee" for $1. I asked the cashier what the fee was for. She said, "It's for the (small) to-go box." I asked again, "You charged for a to-go box?" She said,"Yes. We do. $0.50 per box." I never got charged this fee from other restaurants. Since she insisted, I just paid for it with tips. I thought this was a new policy for the restaurants around the campus area (because I didn't get charged when I went to other restaurant the day before). However, after asking couple people, I realized I was the only one got charged. I gave the 5-star review because the local small restaurant does have its right to charge whatever they think is appropriate. If one day you get this "custom"charged, it's just your lucky day.

Yelp
Stopped here on our way through town. Super kid-friendly, fast, friendly service and the food was just what we were looking for! Will definitely head back if we are ever in the area again!

Yelp
Didn't even occur to me that making the drive over to Uniquely during a weekday afternoon could possibly be challenging. Totally slipped my mind that we are a big college town and there would be students galore. Luckily, Uniquely has designated parking which is quite convenient on a visit such as this. I ordered the Mopo Tofu. Which I have never had before and it was very very delicious. Although I forgot to order rice with it so I had to supply my own. Worth it though. I also ordered the noodles with bean paste but, wow, is this dish spicy. And I love spice! I love some heat! But this dish was so spicy I had to put my chopsticks down and retire the dish to the fridge. It's still there. I am trying to figure out a way to still eat it but maybe by dulling the heat down a little. I'm glad I gave them a try and I am looking forward to giving them another go when I am in that area again.

Yelp
Love everything I've had here. One of the few places I feel like trying something new each time cuz nothing's failed me so far. Only thing is I wish Eugene's szechuan places included rice with entrees, but this place is tops when it comes to chinese food here. Used to love Kung Fu bistro, but ever since they served me day-old-tasting takeout during the big covid shutdown, I haven't been able to get over the utter betrayal. Finding this place has filled that hole in my heart again. To date, I've enjoyed: Spicy Fried Chicken - Really my favorite Szechuan goodie. Such an addictive flavor! We pick through the chili at the end for every little tasty crunchy bit lol. Spicy Bean Jelly: so fun to eat and tasty! The last time I had it here though, it was painfully spicy... Would like it if they toned down the spice to something not so aggressive. Great as long as you have non-spicy things to alternate bites with, like cucumber salad! Beef pancake roll: really tasty, though it's only an appetizer. Could have eaten a whole mealful of these. Griddle Cooked Beef: Super yummy, highly recommend. I had it as takeout and can only imagine how much better this would have been fresh in-house. Mao style braised pork belly - sooooo tender! Just melts in your mouth. The sauce it comes in is so good! The flavor reminds me of a hint of roast duck? I'd like to keep updating as I try more things. --- 4.5/5 stars

Yelp
I tried ordering on the phone and the woman who picked up didn't understand my question that I was asking "which was what time does lunch end," so instead I decided to go inside and look for myself. It was empty with no one in there so I thought I would get my food within a reasonable amount of time. I didn't because the woman who took my order was eating herself and forgot to put my order in, so it took around 40 mins which was a pain. Overall the food was alright, but service was even worse. They also lied about their prices which is another heads up. They weren't sanitary either with the examples of coughing in their hands and picking out food from their mouths and NOT WASHING THEIR HANDS AFTERWARDS! I should've walked out immediately after that happened when I was eating. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO DECIDED TO GO HERE!

Yelp
I'm kind of amazed that we have such a good Szechuan place down the street from campus, where many of the restaurants are so-so. The very first visit I made, years ago, I ordered something kind of boring (my bad) and didn't quite realize how solid this place is. I returned a couple times recently and I think it's one of the better restaurants in town. Absolutely enormous menu, mostly for meat-eaters, but lots of options for us vegheads too. The griddle-cooked cauliflower is a treat. It comes out sizzling in a flamey hot pot: cauliflower, potatoes, green beans, celery, and fermented beans in red spicy oil. Pro tip: It's enough food for two and VERY oily, so when you take your leftovers home, leave a few florets in the bottom. Recently I also tried the eggplant with green beans, yum. And I always get the black fungus salad. I'm not sure where they find woodears that fresh. Covered in a nice salty dressing with just enough Szechuan peppercorns for that fun numbing feeling. Yum. Someday I would love to see a Eugene Chinese restaurant that serves food from a different part of China (they're all Szechuan I think?) but until then, this is my go-to spot.

Yelp
Legit & bomb x 1000! Everyone who works there is from ChengDu so probably as authentic as you can get in this town! Especially the fact that the chief is a Chinese grandma, which means the portion and the taste of the food are guaranteed!!!
google avatar

William D.

Yelp
Absolutely avoid.... Everything I ordered was disgustingly bad, the cheese wontons had zero filling and where cold, the generals chicken was extremely old and very over cooked and dry. The rice was very soggy and the broccoli was barley even half cooked and not at all washed

Matt M.

Yelp
What a treat! The interior is clean with plenty of places to sit. The staff was prompt and polite. The food itself was well executed, tasty, and reasonably priced. Try the bao in their various forms. They were excellent, along with the Kung Pao chicken and fried noodles.

Brody B.

Yelp
I go here very frequently and I have never had a bad experience , whether it be food or customer service this places serves. delicious some of the best and most authentic Sichuan food I have had in the US. the interior has a very nice and clean aesthetic i cannot recommend this place more!

Yelp
Nice, casual, and authentic. A no fuss spot with super yummy noodles, and wontons. I got the spicy noodles and definitely underestimated how spicy they were but was pleasantly surprised to get a very hot bowl of food. My lips were happily numb - but if you are not a big spice fan I would look elsewhere on the menu. The shrimp wontons in chili oil tasted fresh and were hearty. I also had the cucumber salad which was alright - it helped to cool the heat but it was something that could've easily been made at home. The woman at the counter is very nice and greeted me as soon as I entered. I appreciated also that to aid in order she provided me with an order pad where I could write down the plate numbers, she made sure to review the dishes as well. I will for sure come here again.

Yelp

Yelp
I love beef noodle soup but this one did not have that smell that screamed beef noodle soup. The broth was decent but I feel like it was majority just fish sauce. The meat however was very tender and delicious--Great big portions. The bok choy for both beef noodle soup and dan dan noodle was so limited... half a bok choy in each dish. The dan dan pork minced noodles was way too salty. I ordered this to go and pick up and the process was really easy. Friendly cashier and fast and efficient.

Yelp
Was really craving Chinese food and decided to order in and try out Uniquely Chengdu. It came pretty quick and was packaged well so no complaints there. However the food itself was very mediocre. We got a few different items, like the orange chicken and the fried noodles. My biggest gripe is that the food was very expensive for the quality we received. We probably won't be ordering from here again.

Yelp
Authentic spice found here! We ordered the Chengdu meat steam pot which included kelp, tripe, cauliflower, celery, wood ear mushrooms, etc. we got the medium spice level, although we were tempted to get the spicy spice level. Being spice connoisseurs, the medium spice level surely satisfied our craving for that unique mala numbing sensation. Of course, I had my extra bag of mala in my purse (like always 24/7 just in case), however we learned quickly it was not needed because the spice was so right. The dumplings were really good and the sauce had fresh cut strips of ginger. The honey green milk tea was super refreshing on this hot summer day. Service was friendly and quick. Overall, very authentic Chinese restaurant with complex spices. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
This place can be a little intimidating for the timid folk but the reward is tenfold as the food is a delight. Assuage your prognostications and get some truly delicious snacks. Noodles! Buns! Whatever your heart desires the dynamos in the back will create.

Yelp
Been here a few times, hits the spot when I'm craving Chinese takeout. The fried chicken dish was tasty, but the pieces were very small (my photo makes them look bigger than they are). The hot & sour soup was too sour for me as well compared to other places in town.

Yelp
If you're literally dying of hunger and you have a strong constitution or maybe someone gave you a gift card here then maAaaybe try it. I've eaten .75% of the second dish I ordered and feel instantly sick to my stomach. When I returned the "Kung pow beef" the waitress tried to tell me I was going to pay for it even know I don't eat any of it except the prices I tried to eat but felt the overwhelming urge to put it in my napkin. Then yelled at me and stormed off saying "fine I'll pay for it". So slimy and barely warm and just bad. I ordered shrimp won tons but was brought wonton soup. The Kung pow chicken was flavorless except the sugary sauce it was swimming in. I feel gross after eating here. This place is typical of the Eugene "food scene".

Yelp
Szechuan food in Eugene, finally! Great location, excellent service, and great comfort food. Chinese restaurants are hard to come by. What a welcome addition to the University area. The food was fresh, and flavorful. Their menu offers so many choices that we ordered basic Chinese dishes this time. Their shrimp wonton was excellent, perfect for a cold day. Their portions are great. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Got there around 2 on a weekend and it was packed! the table was not wiped, very greasy and dirty. We had to write down what we wanted to order lol very interesting... food was okay, not authentic. I liked the walnut shrimp, shrimp is big

Yelp
Steer clear of the 'American Chinese' dishes like Gen. Tso's, stick with traditional fare, and you can't go wrong. Ma Po Tofu was outstanding (they were happy to include ground pork for me) and potstickers were fresh and perfectly crisp on the edges.

Yelp
Food was delivered warm. Best part of all of it. But the flavor was absolutely disgusting. I don't recommend unless you're absolutely starving. All bad. Orange chicken is maybe the safest option?? Maaaaaybe!??? Everything else on my very expensive order went into the trash. I wouldn't feed to a dog.

Yelp
Pork Guadou is not as good as I expected. The meat inside is not compatible with the bun outside. Dan Dan noodle is too salty and too much peanut favor. However, the cold noodle is great and flavorful. The texture is chewy and thin. The weird thing is that they charge 50 cent for a to go box.

Yelp
We were visiting family in Eugene & asked them to recommend some good Chinese food. This place did not disappoint. Great menu variety. We had egg rolls, potstickers, General Tso's Chicken, and Szechuan chicken with noodles. All delicious. Service was fast and courteous. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Ordered to go a few times and the food is pretty good! I really have a hard time finding Asian food that isn't drowning in sauce or too Americanized. The dishes are pretty flavorful and the seasonings is there! I tried intestines for the first time and surprised how delicious it was! We also ordered the beef soup that the meat just melted and super soft, we also got some dumplings that was ok, the dough was a tad bit thick, but not sure if they make in house or not, but wasn't my favorite. The egg tomato was seasoned perfectly and just a lovely side to put on rice and enjoy with variety of items! Mapo tofu was also yummy! Cannot wait to try more!
