Visited with a relative for an outing with his Wine tasting and sharing friends. The group bought their own wine. We had a quiche Lorraine and salad which was tasty and came in a generous portion. After that we ordered the house Mango & Strawberry Pavlova which was a standout! Must be the best dessert I had this year. Perfection in a plate. The establishment very friendly staff provided an excellent service to the group. Although we came early and got a parking spot I’ve noticed that it is very limited. The place is for adults who enjoy wine and spirits while having a bite and there are plenty of options of both on their menu. Recommended for its great service, corkage policy and for its outstanding Pavlova!😊

Google
A gem of a restaurant hidden away in South Miami, that you won’t find unless you know where it is. It serves American dishes with a southern flare, with its top dish being the fried chicken. It’s hot and moist with a crunchy batter and slightly sweet. The menu is large enough for you to find something that you will love if you’re not a chicken lover. The atmosphere is of a cozy bar/cafe and the service is generally friendly and good. A must try in the South Miami area.

Cesar is a great bartender. Very personable attentive and makes a great drink. We always enjoy coming when he is here. Today I had a beer but the drinks are exceptional

We had a very nice Sunday lunch woth the family. We ordered a full rack of ribs that are highly recommended, and a mushroom soup which was also very good. Kudos to Raymond who was patient with the kids. Thanks!

Google
Love this place! I’ve been a few times and figured it was finally time to leave a review. Today, I tried the special burger. While it came out well-done instead of medium-well like I asked, it was still incredibly delicious and flavorful. It came with house potatoes, which were super tasty. We also got another burger with a side of fries and a side salad — the dressing on the salad was seriously good. Our server, Mitch, was fantastic — super attentive and kind, and he made some great recommendations. He suggested a Mexican beer that paired perfectly with the burger. For dessert, we had the bread pudding with ice cream — absolutely amazing. Honestly, the food here never disappoints. It’s a hidden gem in South Miami, and definitely worth checking out!

Google
A local favorite! Hadn’t been to Whisk in a few years and when I came back it was so nice to see that things had stayed the same. The food is still amazing, service was great and with a smile. We started off with the bacon wrapped dates (not pictured) and they were amazing! I could eat an entire plate full of those. For dinner I got the steak and salad and my friend got the pasta jambalaya. We ended up with the desert that is cinnamon fried milk with berries or something like that. We also got a nice bottle of Malbec with dinner. Everything was delish! Great experience. Highly recommend.

Google
Wonderful lunch experience at Whisk! The service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious and uncomplicated with good portion sizes. The cocktail refreshing with good twist on known versions. Everyone in our party was satisfied. *My steak was cooked perfectly* *the Brussels Sprouts are to die for*

Google
We go to whisk weekly, if not biweekly. The food is delicious!!! The food always has me wanting to come back for more. Now the service is not good. The servers lately have been horrible. There’s 1 guy who looks like he’s high all the time and speaks to you in a drab tone, another time we had to wait a while at the table before getting greeted and in general their service is not good. There’s 1 server Alfredo who is great! He’s the exception. Definitely Go for the food but don’t have high standards for service.

Yelp
Why have I never been here? What a delight. My friend treated me to a pre birthday last minute very late lunch and it so did not disappoint! The decor is retro cool. The service was fast and friendly. The food was timely and very fresh. We tried two of their daily dishes. One dish was their fresh shrimp fritters with salad. The other dish was their mango salad. Both were fabulous. We then finished off with a wonderful apple pie that was served with caramel sauce. The whipped cream had some grated nutmeg on the top. My friend mentioned it was my birthday, and they sweetly put a candle on top. A real nice touch. I will be back!

Yelp
Local spot in South Miami that had a good amount of reviews so decided to check it out. Great ambiance, good amount of tables for seating and it was cool to see a glass wall where the kitchen was visible. Reservations are recommended, since we had a small wait for walking in and were asked if we had reservations. Service was great, quick, made recommendations and elaborated on the plates. Food was good. It started off strong with the shrimp and grits appetizer which was packed with flavor. I would have easily ordered another one. Grits were nice and creamy and the added bacon gave it a great crunch with the shrimp. My favorite dish while there. The Panko Mahi Mahi is huge, enough for 2 people. A huge piece of fish with bread, lettuce tomatoes and onion. It can definitely use more sauce and less bread. I would even recommend it in tacos or a wrap. It was good, not great. The whisk burrito was also ok. A good combination of veggies inside and overall good size, but nothing that made me say I would order it again or some back for it. Good variety of food, so would like to come back for brunch and to try a few more things.

Yelp
I love this place. It is really one place in South Miami. You have to go to !!!! the food is outstanding Service is very good and the ambience is very south Miami. They have some really unique and tasty dishes so if you are into comfort food or Southern cooking variations, this is the place for you.

Yelp
Always a great choice for lunch or dinner! To start we ordered two old fashion's made with Basil-Hayden. For appetizer, we went with the fried green tomatoes, which came out perfect and for an entrée we tried the barbecue brisket sandwich definitely enough for some take home. Our server happened to be a former student of mine and she was really great. The overall ambience was very chill for a afternoon lunch where you can still have a conversation.

Yelp
If you ever order wine from this restaurant, make sure you order a wine and year vintage your familiar, because according to the manager restaurant policy is that once is opened you have to pay for it. According to the manager which I imagine is a "wine connoisseur " vinegar taste on a wine is characteristic taste on a strong wine "blew my mind". Apparently the manager missed the the number one rule in hospitality class, a happy customer is returning business. Apparently a $52.00 bottle of wine is more important that a regular customer.

Yelp
Whisk is a fun restaurant. Mitch was our server and he is awesome. He was friendly and always around when we needed something. I enjoyed our table right at the front of the restaurant. They also have some charming outside seating with a cover on top. It somehow was not too hot so it is a nice option as well. I ordered a 100 year Old Fashioned. It has 5 bourbons and the oldest one is from 1928. This was a good drink. It is about as good as ones I have had elsewhere. It is $25 so a little pricey. He ordered a Sparkling Paloma. He enjoyed it. I was really intrigued with the beer draft station. The outside of it was covered in ice. So, I had to try a beer. It was cold but I thought it would be even colder. Anyway, my IPA was really good. Onto the food. I actually wanted two other appetizers but we went with his choice. It was a good one. Pimento cheese with pita chips. This is really excellent! We did need more chips which Mitch happily brought out. So good. I ordered the steak salad. I saw the raving reviews on Yelp. I had the steak cooked medium and it had great flavor. It is served with a toasted goat cheese medallion. I love goat cheese and this was awesome. There were string beans in the salad which is unique. I liked it but maybe another veggie would have been more better. He copied me and ordered the same salad. He was not as impressed with it but that is on him. We ordered the spiced rum cake for dessert. Next time I would get something else. Not bad just not that great either. Overall, a great meal.

Yelp
I made a catering order of Ribs 4 days in advance of my function and when I went to pick it up, it will be ready in 10 minutes. No problem When I got home I was given someone's order plus my own very rare cook ribs. It was a disappointment for I had advertised the ribs as the best in town. I hope the lady manager (very nice and professional) read this and gives me a call.

Yelp
Whisk! Whisk! Whisk! It's been too long but it was incredible to go back after soooooo long (approximately seven years) and have the outstanding service paired with amazing food!! We started with the fried green tomatoes, fall harvest salad, shrimp and grits and 1/2 rack of ribs with a side of brussel sprouts. It was great! Ohhhhh my word, my mouth is watering from the nostalgia from the meal; simply incredible. The upgraded ambiance was a nice touch to the experience. Austin, Marginy and the staff were great and this dining experience was the reminder I needed to not let another seven years pass by before going back to one of Miami's finest restaurants. Enjoy!
google avatar

Erik E.

Yelp
Food is consistently good. Down home comfort food with a modern twist. Service staff can be inconsistent. Attentive to non-existent or in the weeds to the point they have others cover their tables so the experience is a bit disjointed. But will always go back.

Yelp
The restaurant interior is beautiful however parking situation is a nightmare. Came here for the first time to celebrate my mother in law's birthday, servers were very nice and attentive. I just felt for the prices on the menu the food was good but not great. I had a chicken sandwich and a side order of truffle fries, the sandwich was massive and the fries were good. My mother in law had a salad, she wasn't a fan of the dressing. I had a lychee lemonade (non-alcoholic) that was really great and refreshing. Overall I give this restaurant a 3 out of 5, food was good not great, ambience was amazing, servers were amazing, parking was not great, especially since it was very rainy the night we went, we had to drive around 25 minutes before a spot finally opened up across the street in the grass which got very muddy. I understand parking is not within their control but just unfortunate.

Yelp
Had a Friendsgiving event here that ended up being super fun. The staff were fabulous. Tony got me the best drink, was very attentive & helpful!! We tried some of their Thanksgiving catering items & wow some of these were WONDERFUL. The deviled eggs with chives & chicharrones on top were 1200000/10. The sweet potato casserole was a BIG hit in the group as well. I also enjoyed the corn bread, mashed potatoes, & mac n cheese & pumpkin pie (not pictured). Personally the green beans were a little too garlicky for me & I didn't care for the gravy on the turkey, but the turkey was very juicy & easy to cut. There's street parking out front & a small lot as well, but if things get full it can be hard to find a spot nearby.

Yelp
Great food & service! Nice ambiance! Been going there for years! I appreciate the friendly waiters!

Yelp
Soooo good! Love the rustic vibe, everything we ordered was phenomenal. Highly recommend the conch fritters! I custom ordered a drink as well and it was made to perfection. Staff was so nice and helpful. Can't wait to come back here :)
google avatar

Jeannette V.

Yelp
I found the food extremely overhyped and expensive. My pricey drink was awful. Didn't care much for the ambience and parking is a nightmare. Excellent service, though.
google avatar

Orlando M.

Yelp
Good food but exorbitant prices just can't be justified ... bill came out to $170 for 2 beers, fried green tomatoes, 1 salmon entree, 1 salad, 1 dessert. That is wayyyy too pricey for a neighborhood, casual restaurant IMO. In addition, they hit you with a 3.5% credit card surcharge!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and customer service. Daily Chefs Suggestions Many Items to choose from Will definitely go back

Yelp
Food was amazing! Big portions and they were very accommodating when it came to some changes that we asked for. The restaurant was nice a clean.

Yelp
Whisk is a staple in South Miami! I've been going here since after COVID. It never disappoints. It's a great lunch spot. We love sitting at the bar because the service is fantastic. We started off with a round of margaritas. Every Monday they have Margarita Monday's which they offer a menu of $9 margaritas all day long. For appetizers we ordered the corn bread with honey scallion butter! I wish I could take the butter home in a jar. Deliciously paired with the warm corn bread. The perfect pairing! My friend and I shared the turkey and Brie sandwich that comes with a side of arugula salad and the mahi mahi sandwich with the house made chips. We ordered the truffle fries to share as well. Will continue to come back! It's a very small restaurant with good vines and good food! Very country homey style.

Yelp
Spare ribs are big portioned Half rack is like full rack elsewhere Service is good Ambience is is traditional and romantic in a way

Yelp
This place gets its rating because of its consistency in producing a nice size portion of comfort food. There is variety on the menu from appetizers, sides, salads, to sandwiches and entrees. You can order from any area of the menu and not be disappointed. The cocktails were on point as well. We ordered two old fashioned with Woodford reserve. They were perfect, large bourbon selection to choose from. Every dish we ordered was outstanding and hit the spot. Our server Shana G was stupendous! Excellent service with smiles and interesting light conversation. The interior feels a bit country rustic southern decor, a little noisy because of the hard surfaces but overall a cozy classy environment. I've been here many times before and the review is always the same, I will always come back.

Yelp
Great food ! Great service! Great specialty drinks! Big portions too! Everything was delicious!

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was little and I've always had their fried chicken with mash potatoes. You can never go wrong with that dish. This most recent visit I wanted to try something new so I got one of their specials. It was a pan seared tuna with green beans. It was delicious and very fresh. For dessert I shared the chocolate mousse with my mom. It was a little disappointing because I didn't taste any chocolate in it so I don't recommend that dessert, but everything else was perfect. I didn't get it this time I came but I also love the fried green tomatoes.

Chuck P.

Yelp
Honestly not worth the money or time. My son's huevos ranchero was embarrassing. Stale and eggs completely raw. My brisket sandwich was hard as leather and over cooked. The server was super sweet but spilled a whole serving of dressing all over my sweater and did not even offer a free lunch. They told me they could dry clean it for me. Sure..let me drive all the way to south miami so they could dry clean my favorite sweater. Desserts were mediocre at best. I will say the servers were all very nice.

Yelp
This place is so cozy and the food is delicious. The drinks are well made as well and the service is nice and friendly. If you go you must get the cornbread!!

Yelp
Always good food, love this place always great food and ambiance. One of my favorite spots.

Yelp
Panko Fried Mahi - Best Mahi sandwich I've ever had Baby back ribs - also one of my favorites in Miami

Danny B.

Yelp
Expensive and everything is swimming is sauce. A bit like Cheesecake Factory food. Service was good though
google avatar

Yelp
Occasionally get take-out but not sure if a new cook or what but this last Saturday 9/9 everything, I mean everything was incredible. Best bacon wrapped dates ever, and incredible homestyle meatloaf and with an incredible mash potatoes. The Salmon entree over grits and with spinach and asparagus was equally very good. And and, all came out simultaneously. Really all great, hope it definitely stays at this level.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing. I always sit at the bar and make new friends. All good energy with the usuals that come in. Most importantly the food is amazing. The service is amazing. Bathrooms are clean. The bartender makes the best drinks!

Yelp
Happy Hour is awesome. The Skirt Steak Salad is to die for! Highly recommended for a nice evening with friends.

Yelp
Summary I'm happy with this outing. Drinks were fine, appetizers rocked, and the entrees were plentiful and delicious. It leans a bit to the expensive side, but it's worth it, both in food and service. The Experience Funny story: I've been hoping to visit whisk for a long time, and never had the opportunity until a couple of friends had their birthdays on the same week, and the decision was made to have a birthday dinner for both at Whisk... because I (decidedly NOT the birthday-boy) had said I wanted to go. Anyway: reservations were made. We had a few hiccups with the confirmations, so the number of guests varied a couple of times, but for what I hear from the person who actually made the reservations, they were accommodating. Upon arrival, the early guests were directed to the bar, immediately served water and offered help if needed, then not bothered until we decided on a drink, and then we were promptly tended. I had the Sparkling Paloma. it is not a strong drink, but its a tasty one. you can barely feel the tequila. The reservation was for 13 people, though only 12 actually did show up. Unfortunately, we had to be split in two contiguous 8-spot tables. Fortunately, the area worked pretty well as a "private section", even though it wasn't. The table servers were as helpful and friendly as the bartenders. It's difficult to find that balance between letting you breath and decide and still be available precisely at the moment you need them while still being friendly and accurate. Our appetizers for the whole table were the bacon-wrapped Gorgonzola-stuffed dates and the Brussels sprouts. I didn't touch the sprouts, but the dates were delicious. I did not try any of the other entrees, but generally speaking, the whole group seemed satisfied. I had the ribs and they did not disappoint: flavorful, meaty, rich, and could be defined as fall off the bone greatness. They came with a coleslaw, which was good in the way every good coleslaw is good (nothing to highlight, just good), and also potato chips on the side which were... not the best... but they didn't ruin the experience. I'll be happy to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
The only frustration I have is why I haven't come here sooner! This is absolutely a must try . Came here for the corn bread , ended up getting that with the shrimp Mac and cheese and the fried chicken. And of course another corn bread to go lol
google avatar

Ligia S.

Yelp
Talk about consistently DELICIOUS! Went back yesterday for drinks and a snack and we were once again impressed with this talented team! We like to sit at the bar since it's like dinner and a show to watch the bartenders create their art.
google avatar

Rose B.

Yelp
Always a favorite. Nice to see that after all this time their menu and service are still consistently awesome.

Juan C. M.

Yelp
Everything was superb. This is a jewel in the south Miami area, which we frequent often whenever we can. The bourbon salmon and grits was delicious, cooked perfectly. Great service and prices are reasonable.
google avatar

Jeremy N.

Yelp
Talk about a hidden gem! This place is amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious. It is seasoned so well and each aspect of the food compliments another. I came here for a lunch meeting at 11am. The only thing that was horrible was the parking. It was just awful. They need more parking drastically! I made a comment about it when I was in the location too. Then I tasted the food and I said even with the parking situation, I'm so impressed with the food. I will go back.
google avatar

Nathaly V.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to go to! I love the ambiance and the service is always great here. I asked for a drink that was not in the menu and they were able to make it for me. The food was delicious I recommend the brisket sandwich and the mahi mahi sandwich. The corn bread was one of the best I've ever tried. Also, the bread pudding exceeded my expectations! Great spot for a nice romantic dinner or to just hang out with friends.

Yelp
Visiting Whisk has been on my wish list ever since I discovered them on Diners. Drive-Ins, and Dives. Guy Fieri visited them on the Dynamite Duos episode that aired on season 19. The episode focused on family restaurants. Whisk was chosen because it is run by a brother and sister, Brendan and Kristin Connor who serve southern comfort food. Guy recommends the Fried Okra and Braised Baby-back Ribs. They were also featured on chef Michelle Bernstein 's show Check, Please! South Florida on PBS. We arrived at Whisk a few minutes before opening which was great because they fill up fast and the parking lot is small. It is tucked into a small street right off Sunset Drive and Red Road in South Miami. You may have to find metered parking on Sunset Drive. We were the first people of the day and we Whisk all to ourselves for a little while at least. The restaurant is very cozy and inviting. There are two narrow rooms and we were seated in the room with the bar. They also have a covered outside area set up in the the parking lot. The Whisk menu features items like fried chicken, cornbread, low-country shrimp 'n' grits, and an elevated BLT. There is a main menu and one with daily specials. They serve beer, wine, and spirits. They are famous for their burger Friday's when they offer one gourmet burger of their selection. Four our meal we started with a shared appetizer of the Bacon-wrapped Gorgonzola Stuffed Figs ($15). Four figs come in an order and they were an explosion of delicious salty and sweet that we both loved. For lunch my friend had an off the menu salad that they were more than happy to make and I ordered the BBQ Brisket Sandwich ($23), slow roasted brisket, crispy shallots, on butter toasted challah served with house made chips and coleslaw. The sandwich was so huge I could only eat half and the house made chips were phenomenal. They were dusted with Parmesan cheese and were addicting. Everything is on point here from the atmosphere, to the service, to the food. The prices were reasonable too. I have a feeling that anything they whip up is delicious.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
Pros: Outstanding food, it's definitely comfort food so don't expect healthy fares, but all the flavors were on point. There is plenty of socially distanced outdoor seating and the service was great. The drinks were also delicious! Th fried green tomatoes were my favorite ever. The jalapeño guac was delicious. Cons: Beware the jalapeño guac is no joke, but soooo tasty, if you like very spicy food, go for it! The Brussels sprouts were just too greasy, the flavor was there, but the grease was overwhelming. Will definitely go back!
google avatar

Isabella C.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. I am a huge fan of thier fried green tomatoes. A must try appetizer. The service is consistent and so is the food. Always an enjoyable experience here. I took my twin boys in a while and they even help accommodate my double stroller which if you have visited them before you know is a big deal. This location is small but not cramped. I have since heard they have a new location I have yet to visit but Anytime I have friends in town I reccomend whisk and I look forward to checking thier new spot. Which is long overdue.
google avatar

Tim W.

Yelp
Food is creative and delicious. Intimate setting. Service is also great. Parking is the only thing that is not great. So go early for lunch.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
We went for lunch and were seated promptly. The ambiance was very low key and relaxed. Our server was very friendly and brought water while we looked at the menu. We each had a beer and shared the toasted corn bread with honey scallion butter and it was really good. For the entree we shared the turkey and brie sandwich and arugula. It was very fresh and tasty. The only complain I have is that their parking lot is not very big and one has to look for parking on the street. I would recommend that one takes a Lyft there. I'd go back to try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Robert G.

Yelp
Whisk used to be so great but today it was just average. We visit whenever we are in town. This Place is in decline. I got the bbq brisket sandwich. It used to have fried onion rings And slaw.. not today. They charge $5 for an Arnold Palmer and $4 for a soda. Invest in a fountain so that you can give refills. Not refilling ice tea & lemonade is ridiculous! Our server had attitude when we asked since we had been given refills before. He was in a lively discussion with the bartender the entire time we were there and basically ignored us. The place had 2 other patrons. I had to get condiments myself. It is a sad day.
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
The consistency of the food and service at Whisk is what keeps me coming back! Decided to stop for a quick lunch and went ahead and ordered their whisk house salad- I went ahead and added grilled chicken. Organic mixed mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, caramelizad walnut, raisins, goat cheese, and their signature citrus vinaigrette. This dish screams fresh!!!

Michelle D.

Yelp
The food was delicious and generous portions. And our server was great. Will definitely go again.

Yelp
Myself and my wife went to lunch today here, haven't been back since before COVID and the food was excellent . We ordered the ceviche , toasted corn bread , entre was full rack of ribs with coleslaw and chips. Amazing - will return again

Yelp
Always good fresh food! Good drink and beer choices and service is always excellent! Good daily specials. Parking some times can be a bit tricky but you'll find a spot.

Yelp
4 1/2 stars. WHISK has been on my radar for a while (and apparently on many other Yelper's radars as it has well over 1000 reviews.) The place was much smaller than I thought it would be. When we were there for Saturday lunch, the front room was only being used for delivery pick-up. The second room has a large bar, some regular tables, and high tops that you can share. There was also covered outdoor seating available, but that was not an option for us as it was pretty hot. We sat in a shared high top. I love the menu, which has so many options. You can get "brunch", salads, mains, appetizers. Had the rating been based on just two of the dishes we ordered, this probably would have been a five star rating. I loved my Turkey Cranberry Salad! All the ingredients just worked, including the candied walnuts, cranberries, organic mixed greens, and goat cheese. I definitely could have eaten more of this delicious salad! Husband said his salmon was amazing. The only little hiccup was my son's dish. His barbecued chicken was not bad. It just was not particularly great. The chicken did not have much flavor and barbecue sauce was nothing special. My son subbed carrots for one of the sides and they were hard with no flavor. Service was bright and friendly. Wound return to try other menu items, especially some of those other salads!
