Nestled in elegance, this refined French eatery impresses with seasonal dishes, attentive service, and an inviting atmosphere perfect for special occasions.
"On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout September, you can get £10 off per person when ordering three courses from the à la carte menu at this European spot in St. James’s." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak
"Michelin-star restaurant Wild Honey St James is getting a sibling. The new spot—Bistrot At Wild Honey—will open inside the Sofitel London St James hotel and serve French dishes. There’ll be classics like terrine, steak frites, and paris-brest, as well as crowd-pleasing burgers. And if the first pictures are anything to go by, red leather is going to feature heavily in the flirty dining room. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"This spot in St. James’s has a new Curfew Supper, which consists of a plat du jour and a glass of wine for £20. It’s available Tuesday to Saturday, from 8.45 to 9.30pm." - rianne shlebak
"This brasserie de-luxe occupies a Grade II listed former banking hall within the Sofitel hotel and while that means a certain grandeur, the atmosphere is never overly formal. Anthony Demetre’s cooking proves the perfect fit because it is equally impressive but defined by a refreshing lack of showmanship. His appealing dishes are as generous in size as they are rewarding in flavour, from duck and pork terrine en croute to rabbit with slow-cooked cottage pie. The delicious custard tart is a true speciality and if it was ever removed from the menu there would be protests on Pall Mall." - Michelin Inspector
"You don’t know this person very well. In fact, all you know is that they really enjoy using exclamation marks in emails, and haven’t quite mastered the difference between ‘your’ and ‘you’re’. Bless ’em. The point is, when you’re meeting up with a relative stranger you need somewhere inoffensive, with good food, and a decent amount of velvet thrown in for good measure. Wild Honey in St James’s is all of the above with the added bonus of some lamb that’s so tender we’re not sure whether to eat it or pet it, the option to have fresh honeycomb carved into your ice cream, and a long, long wine list you can peruse whilst trying to resist the urge to start an impromptu grammar lesson." - heidi lauth beasley
