I’ve been procrastinating on writing this, but finally for other customers awareness. This was personally one of the worst tasting menu experiences I’ve ever had in my life. The atmosphere was disappointing. The couple seated next to us seemed very close to the chef, they were loud and constantly banging on the table, which felt obnoxious. With the tasting counter set up almost like a bar, it didn’t feel like a comfortable or enjoyable dining experience. We had the tasting menu with non-alcoholic beverage pairings. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. Dishes were either over-seasoned or under-seasoned, with no real balance. The low point was a rabbit and mushroom dish. When presenting it, the server proudly asked, “Have you ever seen this many kinds of mushrooms on one plate?” The plate itself lacked creativity, and honestly, I use more varieties of mushrooms in soups I make at home. It felt like a strange thing to boast about. Dessert was also a letdown. The canelé was hard, rubbery, and completely flavorless. This was supposed to be my birthday dinner, and my husband had high hopes, so I didn’t say anything at the time. But unfortunately, it stands out as one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.

had pretty high expectations based on what i'd heard and really i think it lived up to the hype. the best thing i had all night was the honey nut squash ravioli. it was the perfect bite i swear to god, had every flavor working so well together. i did think that the striped chicken tortelli was pretty overrated if im being honest, that dish was pretty average in my opinion. drinks + dessert were both excellent, loved the ice cream and the almond cake. overall great vibe inside too, feels pretty intimate & the staff was very friendly and gave great recs!

Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. Chef Jackman is a genius and his restaurant is a true gem in our city. If you are a foodie and enjoy unique flavor combinations, you will love Wildweed. For an extra special occasion, do the chef’s counter tasting menu. You won’t regret it!

The most amazing, delicious, herbaceous food you might ever have. It’s a place where you could pick anything on the menu and you’ll be day-dreaming of it all week. I was *slightly* underwhelmed by the “by the glass” wine offerings, but it is a small matter as their cocktails are each a smooth journey through the flavors and mouthfeel… and ones that compliment the menu beautifully.

If I could give the service 0 stars I would! I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and finally had the chance to visit it last night, November 4th. The hostess is rude and passive aggressive. Okay, no big deal. Our server was extremely unprofessional and could use a class in proper front of the house services. Okay, again, not a big deal, as long as the food is good. First course came out- cherry tomato salad and hamachi tartine. Both very under-seasoned, and the tartine was just not good- the chunks of fish were large taking away from that delicate texture and bomb flavor of tartine. We also ordered 1/2 dozen oysters that had pickled veggies diced on top, again lacking flavor so we sat around for about 10 minutes for our server to check on us so that we could get a lemon and add some citrus to them. We never received our second drinks so we decided to cash out early and order entrees somewhere else. The restaurant had many open tables while we were there, so no excuses for our terrible experience. The two tables next to us were also discussing how unsatisfied they were with their experience. I’m not sure how this restaurant was recently named “top 50 restaurants in America.”Save your $ and go somewhere else.

i’d first like to say that the food was overall very good, the ribeye was fantastic, but the service felt unprofessional. our servers were great, but at the end of our meal, immediately after receiving the check, another woman asked us to leave. we were informed that the reservation behind us was here and we had to leave. no apology, only a passive aggressive “see you again.” we will not be returning. we ate quickly, ordered quickly, but still because the restaurant cannot allocate their time for each guest well, it became an issue. ended the meal on an awful tone for us.

I quite dug this place. Struck a balance of modern upscale dining with a nice casual twist, but the food took itself seriously in trying to craft a unique experience that didn't scream that it was trying "too hard". I think the flavor pairings were great for the dishes we had, even though I didn't care for some of them (due to my personal tastes and no fault of the dishes). Overall I liked what they were going for and would absolutely go back. Also my wife loved it and isn't a critic like myself so that also helps lol

We had a lovely time at this gorgeous restaurant. You can sit up front by the bar area and windows or back by the bustling kitchen. Delicious food and exceptional service. It was quite busy and loud when we were there and you needed a reservation.

Came here for a birthday dinner and had their tasting menu with a wine pairing at the chef's table. We made the reservation several weeks in advance and I think they tend to fill up quite quickly. The ambiance in the restaurant is great. Very mushroom-themed which was fun. They have a record player in the kitchen which plays the music for the restaurant which was also a fun touch and they alternate switching up the records! The tasting menu was ~7 courses, spanning from appetizers to dessert. The food was excellent! Overall, one of the best meals I've had in Cincinnati. There were a lot of seafood-focused dishes which I thought were excellent, as someone who loves seafood. The wine pairing with the meal was also worthwhile and had some excellent wines! I can't speak to their regular menu, but the tasting menu was excellent!

Wildweed has reset the bar for dining in the city. The food, the drinks, and the service are all top notch. Get ready for amazing food in a not at all stuffy environment. Everything is fresh and delicious with some of the most inventive pasta I've ever had. The portion sizes are Goldilocks sized. I've been several times with my wife and other couples pre fix and we're going to the chef table for my birthday!

The new standard for food in Cincinnati. Or at least that's we said after eating at the chef's counter at Wildweed. We were treated to such a fantastic, seasonal menu with great interaction with the kitchen staff during our multi-course meal. Each dish was carefully comprised of an insane amount of tedious components each harmonizing with every bite. The non-alcoholic drink pairing was something truly magical as well. The drinks were perfectly paired with each dish and could easy stand head to head against any cocktails from other big markets. The environment was also very pretty. The setting was Scandinavian simple with pops of fun, colorful artwork. It doesn't try to be super formal like other restaurants downtown can be, but rather, far more relaxed and modern.

My wife and I had dinner here last night. Our reservation was for 7:30 but we were early and fortunately were able to be seated right away. We were pleasantly surprised as they were very busy. The food was amazing. The flavors were excellent. If you are looking for a huge menu this is not the place. If you are looking to try new things this is the place. The presentation of the food is great. Service was excellent. While the restaurant is small and not surprising a bit loud it was not an issue. We had the bread service, the oysters, roasted squash, striped chicken tortelli and the spiced trout. Oh my gosh it was all amazing. We were so full we skipped desert. We enjoyed a nice bottle of French Syrah as our first option was not available. We will definitely come back.

We went for the price fixed menu with drink pairings and were not disappointed. My wife was pregnant and thus got NA pairings, and very much Wildweed did their best to s make it worth the value and a great experience for her, with interesting drinks and teas with which she never felt left out. The menu was mostly cohesive, but what stood out was the sommelier service and mastery of the pairings. The food was crafted meticulously and innovative while still approachable and not overly pretentious. The dining room was comfortable and seating nice, notwithstanding a large support beam in front of the bar, around which the servers struggled with to deliver plated dishes.

Amazing restaurant and be prepared to see food in a different light. If I could give 6 stars, I would! First time here and we did the Chef Table for my husband's birthday. Every member of the staff including the chef ensured you were enjoying your food and they were so attentive. You receive a menu after the meal that provides details about every course. Every dish was outstanding but my favorites were the poached scallop and marcona almond. My husband enjoyed the huitlacoche and grilled striploin. He actually said it was difficult to choose a favorite because every dish was amazing! Cannot wait to come back and explore more flavorful dishes and maybe get some more paw paw desserts.

Walked in to this restaurant on a Tuesday evening in November at 6:30 and was told there were no tables available for the night.  So I went online to look for the next reservation for when I'd be in town, and I had to book something for 3 people a month out.  Finally got to go eat there last night, since I was anticipating this night for a month now, expectations were high.  The vibe inside is fun and trendy.  We were seated at table, and our waitress immediately came over with water and our menus.  Went with a glass of wine which was very good.  As an apitizer we got the squash snack and the bread with dips.  Everything was really good, my friend was really blown away by the squash apitizer (I thought it was good, but wasn't necessarily blown away).  For my main dish I got the trout which I really enjoyed, probably more than the apitizer but still not blown away really.  Solid 4 star experience.

Obsessed with this place as a pop up. Obsessed with this place as a restaurant. Love pasta but want something different than Italian food? This place answers that predicament. Exceptional food and cocktails. Superb vibes. Expensive but worth the price.

The food was good, but I honestly don't remember it because our server was so pretentious it made our whole experience less enjoyable. We came with some of our best friends and were excited as we had heard great things! I'd try the food again for sure, minus having to interact with a person who felt like she didn't want to be there (or like we weren't cool enough to be?) The whole vibe she gave felt very "don't GAF", which is not something you want when spending that much money at a restaurant and trying to have fun with friends!

This was one of the best meals!! I happen to be in town for work and needed a place for dinner. This place had good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I made a reservation and was promptly seated at my table. The real star of the evening, though, was the Hamachi Tartine with foie gras: buttery, decadent, and expertly prepared. Every bite melted in my mouth. I also tried the Quark and Spring Onion Cappelletti. It was out of this world. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance was relaxed. There were tons of windows and lots of natural light. If you're looking for elevated cuisine done right, this is the place. Five stars without hesitation. Next time, I would love to try their Chef's Counter where they will share the daily menu based around a selection of 7 ingredients, explored over the course of a dozen or so dishes. It sounded awesome but they were booked up for the time I could come in.

Lots of hype around this place. Friends raved about the tasting. Maybe I would have felt differently had we done that vs a'la carte. The server was horrible. He badly mixed up the bill and left another server to help us fix it. When told he messed up, blank stare was given. The food was very expensive and my pasta was hugely disappointing (the vinegar flavor was really not the right notes for this pasta). I can't say I'll be back.

Went to Wildweed for the first time last Saturday and had a fantastic time. The decor of the restaurant is very modern and sleek. Love the design. They get maximum use of the space. We started with the bread and the spinach salad. Love Camino bakery and the bread is fantastic. The herb butter is delicious. The spinach salad was delightfully light. The sauce underneath was herby and smooth. Loved the seasonal citrus. We had two pastas, the mushroom and the stuffed chicken. The mushroom was better, the umami of the mushroom cut the richness of the cheese. Little bit of heat from the chili oil. Fantastic hint of lemon in the sauce. The chicken pasta was good. Asian flavors. The crispy shallot made it. Service was good but not great. Went a long time without being greeted upon seating. Extremely friendly when you walk in though. Can't wait to go back for some boujee pasta!

Such a fun concept! Me and 4 friends had the pleasure of visiting the other night and it was lovely! A very cool atmosphere as far as ambiance love how open and bright everything is. Great for a date night. The service was prompt and informative. We quite literally had our server walk through the drink and food menu for us and she obliged happily and was very knowledgeable about all that was offered. You can't go wrong with one of their cocktails they were all so interesting and crafted with such detail. For starters, we got bread, oysters and beet salad. The bread was great but the oysters were a bit fishy for my liking. For mains, I highly recommend what I got which was the chicken ranger tortellini. The sauce it came it was so bright and paired perfectly with the filling. I will say that the portions are on the lighter side, but for the extremely fair price point you can't be upset. Glad we got to check it out!

Service was amazing! We had Sam who was attentive sweet and gave some good recommendations. The ambience was cool. It was quite busy and the tables were really close together, so definitely not a place to go for romantic quiet conversation as it was quite loud, but I really liked the trendy, hip vibe. Cocktails were good but not great nothing really stood out to me as well and for a place like that I would expect some pretty amazing cocktails, especially for $17-$20 a pop. We had heard a lot of hype about this place so we're excited to try even though it had a pretty weird menu. To start off we got the beef carpaccio, which was amazing totally worth going just for that, but I don't know that I would get anything else. We got the whipped ricotta and all the ricotta itself was good with the sauce. The veggies on top was just kind of weird to us. We thought it was gonna come with bread. It was just so so we did not finish it. For dinner, we got the striped chicken tortelli. It was good and interesting. Really loved the cilantro pieces with it. The basil pieces that were also thrown and there was a little bit weird when we get one of those. The Kentucky Rye pasta was absolutely awful. We only ate a bite of it each and didn't touch it and for $36. You just expect something good I mean it's pasta. How do you mess that up? They felt it tasted really gave me not just like lamb gave me but like something was off we didn't know if the sheep's milk cheese on it was bad or what but it was so many different flavors and they didn't marry together well at all. We both have pretty sophisticated pallets, but I think that this restaurant overall was just trying too hard to be unique and have as many different ingredients as possible to make their dishes really stand out. I work in the food science industry and have the pleasure of working with some Michelin star chefs, and something I've learned from them is that sometimes simple really is just better. I would go back maybe for a cocktail and the beef carpaccio or I would DoorDash the beef carpaccio. Wasn't worth the $200 spent.

I guess I'm going to summarize my review with "good, but not my style". We had 5:15 reservations before a 7:30 aronoff show. When we checked in at the hostess stand, the whole first conversation was about precisely what time we were going to leave. I appreciate the eye on efficiency, and if that had been the end of it, no problem. It wasn't. What time we were leaving kept being a theme of the conversation. After sitting for nearly half an hour with drinks and bread, our waitress basically told us that they have an amazing ribeye feature, but we were too late to order it because it takes 45 minutes to cook and we needed to leave by 7. I can't remember a more off-putting initial experience. Our group had a variety of selections. I had the striped chicken tortelli, which was very tasty, though a touch underdone. (Stunning dish though -see the picture!) Al dente is great, but uncooked is different. Our friend who had the tuna found it very average, and the lasagna got a thumbs down. The beef tartare appetizer was excellent, and the friend that got the beet salad really enjoyed it. I'm not surprised that some people have rated this 5 stars. This is one of those places that if it's your style, you're going to love it, but with a pretty limited menu selection, there's not something for everyone. I'd keep writing, but they are telling me it's time to leave.

Top to bottom, Wildweed is a class act restaurant that somehow both delivers a high-end eating experience and manages not to take itself too seriously. We booked the chef's table experience on a Thursday night and were blown away by the quality of the food, the creativity of the menu, and the vibrant setting. Service: We interacted with many different staff members throughout the evening including a host who welcomed us, poured us glasses of sparkling wine, took our coats, and ran through the menu ingredients; a server who checked in on our beverage needs throughout the evening; and many of the chefs who served us directly over the counter. Everyone was friendly, approachable and thoughtful; we felt welcome and taken care of! Space: Wildweed has truly been built around its kitchen, with the curving bar and walls that frame it as the centerpiece of the space--against the huge windows facing the street! It's unusual and compelling to see the open kitchen presented to the world this way but it makes a statement about why you come here: to eat delicious food prepared by pros. Vibes: Wildweed on a Thursday is lively, a little noisier than most restaurants--but you'll notice that almost all the sound is coming from the guests rather than the chefs. The staff are constantly communicating and in sync with each other, but they do so quietly, sometimes with just a hand gesture. (We noticed for instance that when a dish was ready to run, the chef who finished it would simply carry it to the pass through and raise a hand to summon a server for pickup.) And while the kitchen is putting out spectacular food, everyone is wearing branded tshirts. The vibe is chill, cool and collected, a tad serious but unpretentious. Drinks: The cocktail menu is short but creative. We enjoyed the apple cider cocktail (with a pleasant shock of hibiscus) and the chrysanthemum (floral and not overly sweet), as well as a glass of wine. I'd be curious to try the drink pairings with the tasting menu, but for this meal was very content to order a la carte. Finally, THE FOOD. We progressed through about 12 courses each highlighting one of 6 seasonal ingredients. Some dishes, like radish hand roll and Dungeness congee, were perfect expressions of the ingredient in question, while others, like the Marcona almond tofu topped with tuna, stretched the imagination of what a particular ingredient could be. There were a good mix of smaller bits and a little larger dishes, and the flavor balance was spectacular throughout all. I was particularly impressed with the aforementioned tofu dish, the pasta, and to be honest all three of the heavenly desserts. It was a good amount of food, too, presented with good timing. We left full and content but not overly stuffed. One of (if not THE) best meals I've ever eaten. If you're on the fence about Wildweed for any reason, GO. And if you've already been, I have to imagine the seasonal menus and creativity in the kitchen can only make this an experience worth repeating.

Exquisite fine dining with an emphasis on detail, presentation and creativity. Walking in for our 7:30 Reservation as first time my family and I shared pleasant gasps of the initial view of the restaurant. As we waited in line to check in we were admiring their natural plant decor, interesting mushroom mural, and bright electric lights along the upper walls. As we were seated, the server for the night quickly made his way around, and kindly introduced himself. To be frank, we were a bit underdressed but did not receive any feeling of undervalue as patrons which I appreciated a ton. As we made our selections for the 3 course meal the server was very helpful and patient as their menu featured many interesting plates. Their cocktail menu was appealing and had great taste to back it up! We all loved our drinks and took turns trying each others. My favorite was the Daiquiri, it was both tart and boozy in the best ways with great flavor. The appetizers came out quick. Our beef tartare was plated with crispy textures to add crunch and had a pleasant umami and salty savory flavor. The beet salad was fresh, subtly sweet and a nice contrast to the hearty tartare. As for our entrees, their whole wheat elicoidali was a hit! The savory tripe ragú was very rich and indeed a great compliment to the perfectly cooked pasta and parm. Harry and delicious! Overall their menu is clearly curated to a distinguished taste palette and lived up to my expectations. A lovely upscale restaurant that delivers!

What a cozy, fun spot. The atmosphere was very intimate and great for our date night. The food and service were phenomenal. We were running behind for our show due to traffic and they got our food out super fast! It was much appreciated!

Great ambiance and cute decor, this is a nice find in OTR. I love that the staff rotates with serving which keeps the meal moving quickly. Overall the food was good with fresh ingredients. Enjoyed the spinach salad and the avocado emulsion was INCREDIBLE. Main dishes were ok, but left me wanting a little more (I tried the mushroom ravioli and chicken tortelli). I definitely want to go back and try the full tasting menu as I think that experience would be worthwhile given the menu I saw while dining.

Oh WOW I'd read about the pasta pop up and this brick & mortar and all of the fanfare so this has been on my list and did NOT disappoint! Truly for the real foodies: this is your mecca See pics- everything is camera worthy and fabulous, including the cocktails, a few of which (pictured) can be made zero-proof, which is an art in of itself The pasta is indescribable really- so few places are doing homemade incentive pastas like this- the menu changes seasonally so just go with it We split the beet salad as an app and it was just incredible, so tasty with the pistachio cream I wish we could've had dessert- we count finish everything we ordered! 4 non-alc drinks, an app, bread service and two pastas = $123 before tip and soooo worth it! Service is stellar, as well as host stand - just stand can be insolent in so many establishments (it's where we put our least talented ) but these ladies were so welcoming and helpful- we had a rough start getting there and they made it more relaxing Love this place- absolutely memorable

I went to Wildweed when they were a newer restaurant. I had heard many great things about it I so was excited to try and had high expectations. I think I was a little dissappointed. Our service was very slow and the food was good, but nothing out of this world. The drink I had was definitly not what the server described and didn't enjoy it very much. I think if I sat at the chefs counter I might have had a different experience.

Wildweed in Over-the-Rhine turned our Valentine's Day into something more than a meal--it felt like an invitation to an old friend's loft. My wife and I sat at the Chef's counter, where the same folks who crafted each course also explained its composition, shared insights about ingredients, and answered questions with genuine enthusiasm. It was like getting a backstage pass to a show you already love. The wine pairings were just right, spotlighting every nuance of the cuisine. But beyond the flawless execution, the sense of connection with the people creating each plate made the evening stand out. If you're craving an intimate and instructive dining experience, Wildweed knows how to welcome you to the table.

We were here to sit in the dining room for another In The Weeds collaboration. Here is what we thought. The Dan Dan Noodles and Carpaccio was from the guest chef. Dan Dan noodles were fantastic. Missed the usual pork, but the mushrooms rocked!!! Carpaccio was very chewy. It should have melted in our mouths. Interesting flavor combination that we have never had before. We would have like a few more sauce drops. Liked the dusting of whatever seasoning that was. Quark and Spring Pea Tortellini was very good but had too much mint in it for us. Would order over and over without the mint. Loved the peas and the pasta was nicely al dente. Spinach salad was also....different. Loved the avocado sauce underneath and combination of flavors. It was hard to eat to get a bite of everything. Needed more EVOO. Service was great, but watching everyone duck underneath the pass in the front bar was awkward. Why does the water need to be there so they can't just walk through? Love the use of Urban Stead Quark and Rich Life Farm Mushrooms. Will be back seasonally to try new dishes.

Wildweed is as excellent as you hope. From the start, the hostess and the team of servers were thoughtful, warm, and welcoming. This continued through the entire experience and was an excellent addition to the solid food. For drinks, I thoroughly enjoyed their margarita - not too sweet, nor too sour - but a perfect upscale tequila drink. Unfortunately, I didn't love the apple cider cocktail, while it was good, it was difficult to drink in the small rimmed glass. For appetizers, you can't go wrong with bread service, but the beef tartare and the oysters were both incredible. I'm definitely going to try the beet salad next time, it looked stunning, but I couldn't have fit that into our meal. It's a tossup to say which app was my favorite, they are both great and so different. For dinner, the pesto pasta was incredible. I didn't find it to be over-pesto'd, if you're skeptical. It was pure perfection and I can't wait to go back and try something new and different.

If 3.5 stars were an option, would def give this to Wildweed. Second week they are officially open and were excited to dine here. Never had the opportunity to try any of the pop-ups. We entered the lively, upscale atmosphere that is still casual. Warmly greeted and seated. We were informed that they request a table for two limit themselves to 90 minutes. I had mixed feelings about this; of course you don't want folks loitering, but on the other hand, ordering drinks followed by four courses, including dessert, iis a bit rushed in that period of time. Our wait staff was really kind, had some great thoughts on dishes, and was able to provide us with some informed recommendations. She was very timely and thoughtful of being on top of checking in on is but not overbearing. I found other staff weren't as thoughtful. As an example, I went to the washroom to wash my hands before dinner, and the narrow walk ways require either party in opposing direction to step to the side. I personally stepped to the side for the staff both ways to and from the washroom and out of my way out of the restaurant. It is a small detail, but usually, the customer goes first. There are several drink options, including cocktails, mocktails, and wine. The mixed drinks are very thoughtful and have great presentations. I had the milk punch and smash. Both struck me as weak on the spirits. No soft drinks tho - in my book this isn't cool. I really love to end my meal with a coke with dessert, and a short list of options would not bring down the class of the restaurant. The food? Overall, I really enjoyed it with a critical error. We had bread for starters - local bakery with herbed butter. Ranger chicken tortelli and Red Fife Mafaldine. Both were nice with a lovely mix of fresh, acid, richness, and, of course, al dente. The former pasta dish unfortunately had a critical error- a piece of shrimp barely got touched by heat and was clearly uncooked on the outside- how this was missed by the chef who cooked it followed by the head chef beats me. I sent it back, and it returned appropriately cooked. Any time I send a dish back for a critical error, usually the restaurant takes a moment to recognize the error past the wait staff just serving the new dish. I do commend our waitress checking in, of course. Examples I've experienced at other restaurants: the chef personally comes out and serves the dish and apologizes, a manager or the chef comes out and double checks the dish, a drink or dessert on the house - something. If you mess up hard, which undercooked seafood falls into the category, you gotta fix it. Finally, the halibut really was delightful. I am looking forward to making Wildweed a regular dinner spot and further looking forward to bringing guests here. A few kinks to iron out as one would expect with a newer restaurant. I feel confident this will certainly happen.

Food was mediocre and the portion was small for an adult. Drink was overpriced for its quality. The tables were way too close, and the place was too loud.

Having dined at Wildweed I can see why the New York Times listed it as one of the 50 top restaurants in the United States. The restaurant presented a carefully curated menu of housemade food including the fresh breads and desserts. Totally farm to table. The high-quality food was only matched by the high-quality service. Highly recommended!

Had an unforgettable birthday dinner at Wildweed, thanks to a gift card from my daughter that was the impetus for our reservation. This is a remarkable and beautiful restaurant staffed by an amazing team serving truly inventive and memorable food. The very warm and capable Mshinda cared for us impeccably from start to finish. We kicked off with cocktails and appetizers. The unique carrot and coconut daiquiri was mine and I loved it. We shared three appetizers between us: the bread service (El Camino Miche), Soft Shell Crab and Chicken Liver Parfait. The bread was gorgeous, the crab was buttery and lovely and the parfait was by far the best I've ever had, so beautifully flavorful on thin and crisp crackers that set it off perfectly. We each had a pasta dish as our main. I can't say enough good things about my mushroom ravioli -- I found myself continually going mmm and trying to soak up every bit of what was on my plate. My daughter had the striped chicken tortelli - absolutely exquisite-- and my husband's Kentucky Rye Gramigna made with lamb was also notable. I could not resist dessert. The almond cake was fantastic. Featuring apple rosettes, squash ice cream, brown butter and caramelized white chocolate ganache, it was a suitably decadent, yet delicate end to our meal. Wildweed definitely falls into a special occasion place for us and I look forward to the next good thing that takes us there.

The hype you hear is true--Wildweed is amazing. My husband and I visited this weekend to celebrate my birthday. It was Wildweed's third night being open, and the food and service were incredible. We started with two NA cocktails. I got the bees knees which was one of the best drinks I've ever had. Amazing. For a starter we ordered the El Camino miche, which is bread from a local bakery (El Camino). It came with an herby butter which was delicious. For our second course, we ordered the chicken "ranger" tortelli. The pasta was perfectly al dente, of course. But the sherry cream sauce the pasta came in was DIVINE. I was scooping it up with a spoon trying to get every last drop. For our third course we got the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly, and the charcutière sauce was a flavor bomb. It was salty, sweet, tangy, and umami all at once. We finished our meal with the pawpaw semifreddo sandwich, which blew me away. The cookie specifically was bursting with caramelized brown butter flavor. Overall, I went into Wildweed with high expectations and they were still exceeded. Everything was so much more flavorful than I expected based off of the menu descriptions. I can't wait to return! One final note: the restaurant was playing metal music quite loudly, which was unexpected. My husband and I had a hard time hearing each other even two feet apart, which made conversation difficult. I would have loved if the music was turned down just a tad. Just something to note for anyone visiting that it's not a quiet vibe (which isn't objectively bad!). This would in no way deter me from returning.

We were sat at the bar for an early seating without a reservation, which was wonderful given how packed the restaurant was. Tucker explained and provided recommendations on the menu. Nice job! Limited number of choices did not limit the options across the food palate. Wonderful experience.

This place is phenomenal. Started off with the oysters, which were extremely well seasoned & tasted very fresh. But I didn't like how they put ice on top of the oyster itself. The chicken tortellini with shrimp was amazing. the sauce was delicious & the flavors were great. For dessert we got the icecream sandwich but it was just ok. it wasn't too sweet but im just not a fan of ice cream sandwiches. Overall the ambiance was nice & they were willing to seat us 30 mins before closing time. The service was amazing!

Thrilled I finally got to try Wildweed! Every course was delicious, but my favorite was the black garlic and quark ravioli. Definitely recommend ordering several things and sharing so you can taste as much as possible! The pasta is so good, but I wasn't disappointed with anything I tried and can't wait to come back and try more. Service was friendly and they created a great atmosphere even in their temporary space, but I'm looking forward to seeing their permanent location when they open in June.

We were lucky to celebrate Valentine's Day at Wildweed. After we got the reservation, it was named one of the top new restaurants in the country by Esquire Magazine and I was so excited to try it. The food is interesting, local and even foraged. The portions are ample: we shared a salad we loved and if we both ordered one, it would have been too much. The bubbly and NA beer were tasty accompaniments to our dinner. My vegetarian ricotta kale anolini was scrumptious and beautiful. My husband had the lasagna, presented upright. His only complaint was that the outer layer was dry and overcooked while the inner parts were fine; the server said that just happens sometimes. Unfortunately for me, my husband is reluctant to return on account of that, which means we'll not be able to try the chef's table together!

First impression, we checked in and the hostess was already asking when we would be leaving. Insisting that we tell her the exact time so that she could turn the table. Not real welcoming. One of the people in our party was considering their $98 steak, but we were told we didn't have time to order that and to come back another time. Ironically, service was slow all the way through our meal, until the end, when they needed us to leave by our previously discussed exit time. The food was good, although they should consider heating up the overpriced bread. I would come back for the pasta, but it's not worth the unwelcoming, snooty service.

Wildweed is wonderful in all ways possible. The food was incredible! The service was friendly, helpful and responsive. The atmosphere is comfortable, modern and fresh. I will definitely go back in order to work my way through the menu!

We had a lovely experience here. The ambience was unique and inviting. The staff was all extremely kind and professional with excellent service. The food was absolutely delicious with unique flavors and pasta had a nice bite to it-perfectly al dente. The almond cake was a pleasant surprise-so unexpected, but so delicious. Would highly recommend. Will be returning to try the full tasting menu.

Food was average with exception of steak. Which for a 108 should be. The espresso martini was very bitter and no beans on top. The oysters were good, but the cucumber sauce was a little overwhelming. Our server did not have knowledge of menu and could not describe anything. The menu itself was confusing and the calamari was like rubber bands. Overall, an underwhelming experience.

We went early on the first week open and it filled quickly. Lots of buzz. The clams were the highlight of the dinner, really terrific. The squid ink pasta was excellent and curiously had a flavor of chili -- a flavor which I'm not accustomed to with this dish. The chicken was a bit tough, possibly growing pains but nonetheless. The drinks were excellent and creative. Fun atmosphere. The menu is likely to change frequently and we will be back to see how things develop.

I'll start by saying the food and service were both very great. The pasta was excellent, but that was pretty much it for the menu, only five large plates which narrows things if you're not a fan of, for example, seafood. Portions were smallish however. The seating was extremely tight on the side we were on which I think more than anything set the negative tone for me; the woman next to us was a loud talker which made it worse. Drink prices seemed to be a little much for what it was, I'm not a wine person I'm not going to pay that much for a glass of wine, however their mixed drinks were good (get blue cheese stuffed olives please!). My wife loved it, but a bit of a disappointment for me on our anniversary. We may try again since she liked it, but I'd like to get a better seat/table.

It was okay. The hostess was very friendly and kind but our server was not helpful. With such a nuanced and unique menu, a strong server is a must. We had to ask him to walk us through and explain the items to us - and he didn't seem thrilled to do so. Just wanted to take our order and leave. The space was cool and you can tell they really invested in the atmosphere. The food was inconsistent. Beet salad was yummy. Cherry tomato salad was a little strange. Basically halved tomatoes on an aioli. Lacked balance and completeness. For the pastas there was always one element that took it too far or didn't go. Like the sprouts on the heart ragu, just was an odd choice. If the service was better I'd potentially return to give it another try since their menu seems to rotate seasonally. Heads up, definitely go with people who want to share plates because the meals are rich to consume a whole plate yourself!

Was so looking forward to this restaurant based on recommendations and reviews. This did not live up to the hype and the was not worth the price. Service was fair, food was good but not outstanding and the ambience was so so. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and when we asked whether they do anything special for birthday's, the waitress replied that they don't do anything for birthday's. A chocolate candy or a small champagne toast would have gone a long way to show some above average customer service.

Simply amazing. The food (we did the chef's table) is a whole adventure in your mouth and the vibe and attention to every small detail in the experience is unparalleled anywhere else in the city.

This place is a foodie paradise. Right from the start, the hostess made us feel welcomed, and all the staff were so kind and friendly. I have never had anything like the flavors that were presented. The flavors were delicate and ambitious- we had to sample each other's drinks and meals just to be able to taste the most unique and wonderful flavors. From drinks, appetizers, main courses and desserts- they hit it out of the park. So happy my husband found this amazing place. Can't wait to come back and sample more of their delicious creations. Thank you to the kitchen team and entire staff for making this such a memorable evening.

It's good, but it's not great. Even if the hype had not been so intense for Wildweed, I still would have felt distinct pangs of disappointment. FOOD: There are a few stand-out items on the menu, such as: The herb butter and olive oil that accompany the bread service The oysters The clams The beeswax ice cream The halibut in tomato water is not good enough. Shockingly, the bass á la nage at the distinctly more humble Atwood Oyster House is a far superior example of a poisson en bouillon presentation. The malfadine with rabbit ragu is nowhere rich and savory enough. It's just not. The olives that are in the melange are fresh and interesting, but the rest is quite blah. It is also visually unappealing. WINE AND BAR: The champagne available by the glass is an excellent selection by the sommelier, but it is served in a banal and inappropriate white wine glass. This wine has a lovely and unique color, and a beautiful fine bead, but all of that is lost because of the choice of stemware. A $20 glass of champagne in the city of Cincinnati should be served in a high quality flute or at least in a coupe. The white wines by the glass and bottle are interesting and there are a few excellent choices. The red wine list, however, is distinctly disappointing. I'm glad I did not order the steak because there is no wine on the list that would have properly paired with the cut of beef offered. The bar ran out of tonic. This should never happen, period. Send someone to Kroger. The cocktails were underwhelming. Again, when I order a martini, I want it served in a proper martini glass. A Nick and Nora glass does not cut it. SERVICE: The service was not great. We had several items incorrectly served. Our opening round of drinks was partially served. We waited 12 minutes for a glass of wine to be brought to complete the round. I had to ask twice for one of my guest's order be brought. All guests at a table should receive their drinks at once as a matter of basic service. I found all servers on the team but one to be self-absorbed and a few of them obviously bored with their jobs. I'm comparing the service we received to what I generally experience at venues with similar price points such as the Opal Rooftop, Atwood, Boca, Sotto, The Davidson, etc. I've had far better service this month at more modest restaurants such as Sudova, Primavista, Baru, Prime Cincinnati, Pepp & Dolores, and the Lonely Pine to name just a handful. AMBIANCE: The room at Wildweed is beautiful, and has some fascinating and pleasing design elements such as: A custom, giant, clearly handmade room divider of a soft pale wood - perhaps of ash or beech. Perforated metal light fixtures painted a pale azure Simple but interesting sconces Integrated shelves that are works of art However, the lighting is too bright. It gives Wildweed a lunchcounter feel. Also, the surfaces are all very hard, so that the noise level is deafening. This is not like the noise level at, say, NYC's Balthazar, which is also loud and heady and busy. Balthazar has baffling and some strategically placed soft materials that pull the sound away from the diners, so that the roar is what it should be. Wildweed has no acoustical charm. This needs to be fixed

I really wanted to like Wildweed, but the experience just didn't live up to the hype--or the prices. My dining partner ordered a French 75, which should be gin, champagne, and lemon juice. What arrived was an orange drink in a dirty wine glass. When she asked the waitress why it was orange, the drink was snatched from her hand without a word. The waitress returned a few minutes later to say they were running low on champagne, so they couldn't use real champagne in the drink--and if she didn't like it, she should just order something else. Which... makes no sense. We were willing to pay for the proper ingredients, and the drink was ordered specifically because it includes champagne. She ended up switching to an old-fashioned, which came out overly diluted and packed with ice--closer to what I'd expect from a dive bar than a restaurant with this kind of ambition. We ordered the bread, which arrived cold and a little stale. Edible, but underwhelming. The clams were decent--I'd order those again. One of the pastas was a Vietnamese-inspired tortellini with chicken and shrimp, which was interesting, but when it was dropped off at our table, someone announced it was "the most traditional thing you can get at Wild Weed." A strange comment, considering it's not traditional in any sense of the word. Service throughout the meal was chaotic. We were constantly interrupted mid-conversation by staff asking if the food was okay or reaching across us without saying a word to grab menus, glasses, or silverware. The tables are packed so tightly that staff bumped into us multiple times while serving the table next to us. It felt rushed and unpolished--especially for a spot that's been open nearly a year. One final note: the check includes a 4% "healthcare fee." I absolutely support restaurants providing benefits to staff, but it's odd to pass that cost directly onto diners rather than bake it into menu pricing. Overall, Wild Weed just didn't deliver. Between the awkward service, strange substitutions, and cramped atmosphere, it's not a place I'd return to--or recommend. There are so many better dining experiences in Cincinnati.

Highly recommend based on the unique food options. Everything from the drinks to dessert were all so unique and delicious. One of the best new places to open in Cincinnati.

A bright new addition to OTR. This place is already so popular and has only been open a week. The staff was great and attentive. Portions for food are smaller so would be prepared to order more than you think you need if you're with a group. Overall a great selection with pretty good wine list to pair. Also probably the best designed restaurant I've been to in a bit.
