The Best Restaurants in Sonoma County | Eater SF

"Restaurateurs Mark and Terri Stark have opened eight outstanding restaurants, but none can top their inaugural Willi’s Wine Bar, which rose from the ashes of the Tubbs Fire better than ever. The small plates menu is designed to pair with the extensive wine offerings, many of which are available as flights or two-ounce pours as well as by the glass or bottle. Standout plates include ahi tuna tartare with pine nuts, loaded baked potato mac n’ cheese studded with bacon and charred broccolini, and roasted bone marrow with toasted brioche, enjoyed either indoors or on their year-round patio." - Christina Mueller

One Year After Fires Devastated Napa and Sonoma, Restaurants and Wineries Are Still Rebuilding - Eater SF

"A wine bar that is moving to a new location in Santa Rosa’s Town & Country Shopping Center after being destroyed in the Tubbs Fire. The owners aim to bring back fan-favorite dishes and as much of their former staff as possible." - Jess Lander

My 2nd time here and everything was incredible! I drove from Santa Cruz for their calamari alone, the marmalade sauce is spot on ! We enjoyed it so much along with oysters rockefeller, bacon wrapped scallop BLTs, the pork belly potstickers (the sauce was superb), bbq duck with polenta (didn’t care for the cheddar in polenta yet still tasty), filet mignon sliders-SPECTACULAR! Then the finale with crème brûlée-the perfect balance of sweet and richness ..multiple Chefs Kisses! As others have said, the wine selection is good. Looking forward to the next visit!

Google
Yeah, so. We chose Willi's as a last-minute option in the area we were for the day, and WHOA. I gotta say, this restaurant is smashing the small plates game. The BBQ pulled duck polenta blew out freaking minds in particular, as did the sea bass crudo and the flourless chocolate cake. Cocktail and wine flight options are a great time too. Muy delicioso.

While in Sonoma for a few nights we stopped in here for cocktails before having dinner elsewhere on a weeknight. The bar here was rather busy when we arrived, but we still got a couple of seats at the bar. Service was excellent at the bar, the bartender was very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a very nice wine list, flights, and a great cocktail program. The food we saw coming out looked great, but as I mentioned, we only went for drinks. Definitely would return!

Google
We were really looking forward to a meal here and were really disappointed. Service was fine. Ambience was fine. The food was mostly not great. The spicy shrimp were really good. The Brussels sprouts didn’t work at all. They were soggy and there were too many disjointed flavors. The carrots were too sweet. The lamb was fine but paired with a cold couscous was strange separately they were fine. We love other Stark restaurants and even ate lunch at Augie’s which was really good.

Google
Willi’s Wine Bar is a charming spot tucked just off the main road in Santa Rosa, offering a cozy, laid-back vibe that’s perfect for a casual afternoon or evening out. Service was warm and attentive without feeling rushed, adding to the relaxed, wine-country feel.

Their muffins, freshly baked daily in the house, made their filet mignon sliders outstanding. Everything else we ordered was also fresh and delicious. Dined on Saturday for lunch. Would definitely come back.

My partner and I were visiting from out of town seeing the Charles M. Schulz museum and had made reservations for this place after looking for a semi casual, quality food/service, local spot. Unfortunately we did not plan our time perfectly and we’re running late (about 10 mins) and they were kind enough to accommodate us. Place had a nice vibe and was busier than anticipated for 5:30pm on a Friday. Menu was hard to choose from (in a good way) but we finally decided to share the oysters, a 3 cheese plate, ahi tuna, arugula endive salad and pear gnocchi. We also chose the Ehret cab 1/2 bottle. Everything was great! Especially the salad! We want to try recreating it at home. And we wrote down the wine so we could keep an eye out for it. Service was great. Not too present but just enough (with help from coworkers around and very accommodating - offering our meal to be coursed out vs. all coming at once. Thanks Emilio! Lastly - we both felt like the prices were very fair for the quality and amount of food we got. We would recommend checking it out

Google
Great wine bar that offers many nice small dishes, great wine flights and great service. We visited around lunch time and sat at one of the outdoor tables. Really enjoyed the food and the Samoma wine flight.

Yelp
Had a show at the LBC and my husband and I decided to get dinner last minute before the show. We didn't have reservations and they didn't have any same day openings. We decided to risk it and try to snag two seats a the bar. There's not that much parking so my husband dropped me off at the front so I could get some seats as he looked for parking. To my luck I was able to grab the last two spots. We ordered three things: curried crab tacos, the lamb, and the mushroom truffle Mac and cheese. You can tell Willie's is part of the stark restaurant family. They have a couple items that you can find at their other restaurants and it's a small/med plate shared concept. Curried crab tacos were so good, fresh and light. Lamb was nice and tender but a bit small portion wise. I'm glad that we got the Mac and cheese because not only was it good but filling. Would come back in the future, there are a lot of other items I would like to try. Overall 4.4/5 stars

Yelp
I visited Willie's wine bar about eight years ago before they redid the space due to the fire. I remembered how amazing the food was so I was excited when we were going through the area. I'm looking for a lunch spot. Every one of the small plates that we got was unbelievable and I think that this is one of the places that you can really order whatever types of food you like and you won't be disappointed. My favorite were the fried goat cheese balls, the curry tacos with crab, and the scallop dumplings. I was glad that we had more than just two people that we were able to try more things...

Yelp
Great spot for happy hour or regular lunch/dinner. Small plate style so it's easy to share multiple orders. My friend and I started with their Bordeaux wine flight and enjoyed everything we ordered: -truffle fries with truffle aioli -grilled octopus -curried crab tacos -Moroccan Style Lamb Chops -Dean's pork ribs We weren't expecting the proteins to come with carbs too which was why we ordered the fries but the fries were def worth it. We saw every table getting them. Everything was delicious. The ribs and lamb chops were tender and flavorful. They didn't skimp on the crab for the tacos. All the flavors worked well together, especially with our wine too. We originally wanted the mission fig toast but they ran out of it at the time we were there. Service was very quick and friendly. We were so full we boxed the rest of the ribs, truffle fries and couscous that came with the lamb chops. The restaurant has a warm ambiance and could make for a great any time outing - date night, friend, family, coworker outing. Has cute indoor decor and lighting, with also outdoor seating. Prices are decent. Def see myself coming back!

Yelp
I love being reminded why i love YELP. My girl friend & I were looking for a local restaurant to try & i came across Willi's Wine Bar. It was about 10 mins from where we were staying, kind of hidden in a small area. We arrived around 6, so it was a bit busy - so we were sat in the outside seating area since we didn't have a reservation & thankfully there were heaters outside! We both ordered Flights, I got the Chardonnay flight & she had the Rose Flight. Crab tacos were delicious, loved how it was a wonton style taco. Wagyu sliders with the creamed spinach??? AMAZING! The sauce was perfect literally. Now the best dish to both of us was the Mushroom truffle Mac & Cheese!!! i enjoy finding local restaurants in different cities, I can definitely see why this restaurant is a top favorite in the area! Hannah was great with all of our recommendations.

Yelp
I went on a Saturday mid afternoon to grab a quick bite to eat and drink at the bar. I was sat down immediately. The bartender/server was super nice. I ordered the filet mignon sliders, calamari, and arugula salad with a cocktail called business time (pretty much a margarita with a Blanco tequila). The filet mignon sliders were my favorite. It wasn't too noisy and the Saturday football game was on. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Many great things to say about this place! For one, the staff: so friendly, welcoming, and kind. My friends were running late and they graciously assisted me in saving them spots at the bar on my behalf. Additionally, the drinks we ordered were phenomenal. Our Chardonnays were crips. My espresso martini was incredible. The beets, and cheese, and filet mignon sliders were delicious. The chocolate cake was decadent. Calming and fun place to meet up with friends you haven't seen in a while, or with those you call family.

Yelp
Mostly great dishes but some disappointing serving sizes for the price. Wish they'd make this one seafood focused like in Healdsberg.

Yelp
First time trying this place and was not disappointed! They allow dogs in the patio area which was a major plus. We were seated right away and our waitress was so nice and attentive. The menu was vast and our waitress gave us some good recommendations. We ordered the chilled oysters , arugula salad , pot belly potstickers and the flash fried calamari! Everything was so good and delicious but my absolute favorite was the calamari! It had this spicy-sweet sauce coating so each bite was amazing! Great ambiance and I love how it's in a shopping center in the middle of the suburb! Definitely wanna come back to eat here and try out the other tapas items!

Yelp
This is another of our favourite Stark's places, although we never ended up going here at the original location destroyed in the fires in 2017 and only started going here after the move to Town and Country, largely because that is a convenient location for us. The food overall is outstanding and we really enjoy the flexibility and variety of the small-plate approach. The dishes are varied and both thoughtful and creative in concept and perfectly executed. We have loved just about everything we've had here, although we have not gotten any dessert since that's usually not our thing. The Tunisian Roasted Carrots (5 stars) are incredible and one of the absolute best vegetable dishes we have ever had. They are beautifully cooked, tender yet firm with a touch of caramelisation and wonderfully dressed. The scallop dumplings are also outstanding (5 stars) as are the mushu bacon, a wonderful variations of mushu-style preparation and thick bacon with a smoky and caramelised character (also 5 stars). The brock chicken thighs are great but less interesting (4 stars). Cocktails are excellent. 5 stars for the Midtown and Georgie's Sour. Service is great. There is nice seating in the comfortable interior and there is a small patio area in front. It is located in the old, attractive, Town & Country shopping centre, built in the late 1940s.

Went here for a girls night and we had a great meal + drinks. Definitely will come back!

Yelp
I had high expectations for this place since it is part of Stark Reality Restaurants and is the sister restaurant to Willi's Seafood & Raw Bar in Healdsburg, which I absolutely love. We came during happy hour on a weekday, which is offered on the front patio and bar area. The interior is simple yet elegant. The service was mediocre (a bit cold, long wait for water refills, and check-back after food delivery). The happy hour menu only has six food items: almonds, olives, smash burgers, fries, fritters, and wings. There are not many options. However, I tried the Cucumber Cooler cocktail from the happy hour menu, and it was delicious. They also have $6 martinis. From the happy hour menu, we ordered: Nashville Hot Fries with Goat Cheese Ranch--These were good. They were crisp and seasoned well but not hot at all, so I wouldn't call them "Nashville hot." I am not a fan of goat cheese, so we asked for their homemade hot sauce (HIGHLY recommend--amazing) and some truffle aioli instead. They don't have regular ranch. Crispy Boneless Wings (Sweet Chili Flavor): These had great flavor--sweet with a little kick--but they lacked crispiness. The sauce made them a bit soggy, but the taste was so good that I'd definitely order them again. From the regular menu, we ordered: Pulled Duck BBQ--Duck is one of my favorite proteins, and I love polenta, so I was really looking forward to this dish. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. I was expecting a beautifully creamy polenta, but it turned out to be a gelatinous, chunky mess. On top of that, everything was drenched in an overwhelming amount of sauce that didn't taste anything like BBQ. I wouldn't order this again. Curried Crab Tacos--5/5. This was the best dish. Although the curry flavor was very subtle, the fresh, sweet crab paired perfectly with the pickled onions, apple, cucumber, and mint. The combination was incredibly refreshing and delicious. I could eat this dish every day! Scallop Dumplings-- Gorgeously plated. The dumplings were cooked well and had a decent flavor profile, but I'm not sure if I'd order them again. Overall, my experience wasn't what I was expecting, but I'll likely be back for the curried crab tacos and to try out other menu options that they offer.

Yelp
We popped in for happy hour only to discover a very good smash burger A soft poppy seed bun, flavorful meat, great sauce. The fries were hot, spicy with a tasty goat cheese sauce. The martini pretty good for a happy hour drink. All-in-all a good value...
google avatar

Yelp
What an excellent happy hour! I dropped in during their 3-5 happy hour and had an espresso martini (7) a glass of bubbly (6) marinated olives (4) and goat cheese fritter bites (6). (And one non happy hour wine) The prices were excellent and so was the food and drink. Espresso martini did what is what supposed to do, the snacks were delicious and so rich they were filling, and the wines were hella good. I tried this regular price (2 oz for 4.5) vavasour Sauvignon blanc, which was absolutely delicious- it was citrusy and sharp, yet slightly sweet. Would go back for happy hour or regular hour lol. Everything was amazing.

Yelp
Hubby and I went here for our last dinner when we had a weekend getaway in Santa Rosa! Loved the ambiance and the shareable plates! The sliders were great as were the Brussels sprouts. I wanted to lap up the rest of the sherry vinaigrette sauce the sprouts were with, but that would be in poor form for a night out at a restaurant The prices were reasonable as well!

Yelp
Food and drink are perfect! This is the perfect place to bring family and friends. We've been here a couple of times and we have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly and professional, too. I highly recommend Willi's.

Yelp
This was my favorite restaurant from our Santa Rosa trip. The food was the best we'd had, the ambiance was cozy-nice, and the drinks were delicious. Everything we had blew our minds. Recommend the goat cheese fritters, mu shu pork crepes, and the chocolate banana croissant bread pudding. Pro tip - get it with ice cream. That chocolate banana bread pudding is one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Would return and would recommend! Drinks: Spicy Paloma Midtown Food: Goat cheese fritters Butternut squash soup + grilled cheese Mu shu pork crepes Chocolate banana croissant bread pudding

Yelp
My sister took me here for my birthday dinner while we were in town for the night on a road trip. The food and wine is 5 stars. Loved my flight, and love how they offer 2oz pours so we could get a little champagne toast after dinner! The scallop dumplings and squash mac and cheese were to die for. All of the food was very tasty, I love a tapas style menu and they all came out spaced out which was nice and gave us time to enjoy them all. The service was okay, not very friendly and a little slowed down at the end.
google avatar

Yelp
Dined here while on a work trip and definitely impressed with the food, staff and the relaxed vibe. Primarily small plates but a very diverse menu! Parking was probably the only negative but don't let that deter you! Our waiter was great, he was helpful in recommending wines and small plates for us to try! I enjoyed the arugula and endive salad, the 3 cheese board, the tuna tartare and beets salad. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We've always enjoyed the food, cocktails, and service at Willi's. This is a solid place to meet up with friends who love good food, wine, and drinks. It's a cute space too with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a nice restaurant for a New Year's Eve dinner and discovered Willi's Wine Bar. What a great restaurant tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. The friendly and helpful hostess mentioned that there was Happy Hour seating outside and we love a good happy hour:). She helped set up a warm heat lamp next to us. We sampled almost every happy hour dish: Smash Burger, Tracey's Almonds, Marinated Olives, Boneless Chicken with Lemon and Goat Cheese Fritters. My wife is vegetarian and was able to get the Caramelized Brussel Sprouts without chorizo. The service was great. We will definitely be back:)

Yelp
It's been a while since my wife and I drove north to eat at Willi's Wine Bar. This meal was significantly better than the last and I'm keen to go back. I The highlight was service the greeter that checked us in had followed my request for a standard table instead of the high top table that Open Table showed. Then our server, Lolli, with a great personality, strong knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients, and shared what HER standard order was. Then a few minutes after ordering a different person delivered the wine with great personality as well! And at the end of the meal the busser was discussing how we liked the food and his opinion. I am just now remembering that was what I liked about Willi's when we went there for the very first time. I loved the wine list strategy of everything (it seemed) was available in 2oz, 5oz, 1/2 bottle, bottle prices. I COULD have had two oz with the 3 courses. SOOOO much better than the el cheapo standard way of just a handful of by he glass offerings and a ton of full bottle. But the Sancerre I ordered was lovely!! I built a three stage meal: * an order of 4 oysters on the half shell that were delicious * a grilled artichoke that I liked with two exceptions. First the outside layer was tough as leather, but the rest were great; second, the covering on the heart was left to me to clean. It saves prep calories on the back of the house but was darn difficult to do as the consumer without a special small knife. But I would order it again, but with a different strategy for eating it. * something I've thought of - creamed corn with small chunks of lobster was the star! * dessert was a disappointment. It's summer, it's 84 degrees, and there's no gelato or ice cream or sorbet or even watermelon with feta. I still miss eating at the old pre-fire location of a garden and taking my life in my hands parking on he main road. It was a good time. And my expectations will be set for the next time.

Yelp
Food, 5 stars. Do not sleep on the squash Mac & cheese, it was absolutely phenomenal. Honestly everything we tried was great-- scallop dumplings, tuna tartare, the fish, and the goat cheese balls. The menu seems seasonal which is nice for locals, but we were sad to miss the soup balls that we saw on yelp beforehand. The vibe is good, very average-wine-bar look to it, but our server wasn't super friendly and had a hard time staying on top of our needs at the end when a large party got a little out of hand. It was odd bc it didn't feel under staffed, there were plenty of happy bussers along to bring us our food & drinks, just no one to help deal with the check and get us out of there. I'd still go back because the food was really out of this world, and the wine flight was perfect sipping.

Yelp
I can't believe i haven't left a review since i have been here a few times already! Always a great time here at willis! Make it happy hour or dinner. Emilio our server is great too! Everything tastes delicious!

Yelp
One of my favorite happy hours!! Of course because it's a Starks they do food right!! The sliders are to die for as well as the chicken wings!! The endive salad is also our go too! You can't go wrong with anything on this menu.

Yelp
I discovered this neighborhood gem today. It is located in a residential area (small shopping center). What a treasure! The inside ambiance is classic, simple yet elegant, clean, bright and earthy. The ambiance is carried into the presentation of each dish. The food is delicious. My friend and I shared several dishes. The presentation was beautiful. The food was fresh, vibrant, colorful and tasty. We ordered the Fresh Green Bean Salad, Curried Crab Tacos, Skillet Roasted Shrimp. Each entree was flavorful - some had a fresh spicy kick, bringing my palate alive! After enjoying each plate, we ordered dessert. Oh my, the Meyer Lemon Pudding Cake with Vanilla Bean Crème Fraiche was a creamy, tangy and luscious dessert. The Flourless Chocolate Cake was decadent- topped with a peanut butter caramel and sea salt peanuts! Overall, my dining experience was fabulous! The food was phenomenal. The service was excellent. Friendly people, ensuring all of our dining needs (for instance: filling our glasses without having to ask) were taken care of. Based on our lunch experience, I imagine the evening service and food is quite lovely. Parking: Just Enough. It's in a very small shopping center with a parking lot. Seating: Outdoor and Indoor I highly recommend Willi's! I'll definitely return. I sent photos to my friend in Dallas and she asked me to add it to our dining calendar the next time she visits! I definitely will.

Yelp
Sonoma = Wine Country and after a day full day of visiting wineries and tasting rooms it was time to get some dinner. Willi's looked amazing on Yelp and I was able to make a reservation through Open Table which I love for convenience. Located about 10 minutes from our hotel in Rhonert Park it was a great option for our last meal in NorCal! The Great: Food and service right off the bat was amazing. We love tapas and small dishes and the pork ribs, mushroom salad, and skillet shrimp were prepared well and perfect for the two of us. Of course a large selection of wines are a must with flight options, after a day full of wine tasting I actually went with a Pliny the Elder local brew which really hit the spot! The Good: Sunday evening so the restaurant was packed, make reservations to secure your spot but it does tend to get loud inside. If you'd like a somewhat quieter experience I'd book a table outside. The Okay: Parking was tight but we were able to get a spot but other then that our experience was a great end to our trip! Overall: Great food, awesome staff, wine list/flights to match any palate made for a very good final night in the area. I'd definitely recommend Willi's Wine Bar!

Yelp
Ate here for happy hour a few days ago, and it was a pleasure. The service was fantastic! Our waiter was super nice, and took his time explaining certain menu items and answered all questions my lady had as it was her first time there. The goat cheese fritters are a must try! The osyters Rockefeller were good, and the mini smash burger was awesome! Lastly the scallop dumplings were good too! The happy hours menu is perfect for a nice little bite if you're not starving, I'll be back for happy hour!

Yelp
Haven't been to Willi's for a long time. I remember going to the one way before it had burned down. Glad they found another spot here in town. My husband and I decided to go on a little date and ended up choosing to go to Willi's. We went around 3:30 and it was a perfect time to go before the late evening scene. We decided to order some items off the happy hour menu and one item off the regular menu. It was perfect. The food was so delicious! Got a lemon drop for myself and my husband got an old fashioned. My drink was so good! We then ordered some appetizers- WWB Smash Burger Nashville Hot Fries Flash Fried Calamari (this was amazing!!!) The food and service were really great! Definitely will go again and order entrees next time. Perfect for a little day date :)

Yelp
We loved everything about Willi's Santa Rosa! A must go to experience an over-the-top, genuine wine country experience. It's situated in a cozy neighborhood with both outdoor and indoor dining. We had a yummy Grove cocktail with bourbon, Amararo, walnut liquor. Endive, arugula, mancheco cheese salad with truffle lemon vinaigrette. Lamb chops. Chicken tzatziki that was TO DIE FOR. I'll be dreaming of this meal for years to come. Sat at the bar and delighted in meeting the charming and talented staff. Thank you all! See you next year

Yelp
In all my visits to Santa Rosa I had never popped into this establishment. A friend of mine was meeting me from out of town and looked it up and selected it based on its reviews and cool photos. Boy did we enjoy ourselves! The food was incredible, the menu, incredibly creative and the wine And service were also great.

Yelp
This is my second visit after a very long time. My husband and I love the food but we stopped going to this place for a long time since they didn't have cocktails back then but I really love cocktails and I don't drink wine. We decided to check it out again and realized they now have cocktails and we are so happy about it! We got cadillac magarita for drink and it's really good! For food, we got different small plates and everything was so yummy! My favorite is brussel sprouts dish. I can just eat this dish all day everyday. It's probably one of the best brussel sprouts dishes I have ever had! Other great dishes are ahi tuna tartare, goat cheese fritters (a bit too sweet for me since they put a lot of honey on it but still really tasty), and Willi's truffled french fries (so good on its own and you don't even need the sauce that comes with it but also good with the sauce). The decor inside is super pretty. The service was okay today. It took long for our server to come to us. All the staff looked very serious for some reason. One food runner put the dish down and didn't even say the name of the dish. We said thanks but he didn't even say anything back. But other than that, it was a good experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! We will now go to this place for special occasions (and hopefully the service will be better next time).

Yelp
My partner and I came here based on some yelp scouting. We wanted to have dinner somewhere close to the Luther Burbank Center before a show. I'm really glad we ended up here. The food was great. High quality, shareable items at reasonable prices. The cocktails I ordered were tasty, too. The service was great. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The ambiance was great. Lighting and noise levels were acceptable for intimate conversation or something more jovial. Willi's is a gem of a dinner spot, tucked away in an unassuming location.

Yelp
Nov 2022 Solid food and different wine flights you can choose from. Service was very attentive and helped with every question that we had. Good for a date night, though we were outside and so there wasn't as much noise to deal with in general which was nice. The heaters above kept things nice and toasty for us over the course of the night. We had ordered a couple of red wine flights and took away one bottle for the night. For food we had ordered the duck fat confit wings, scallop dumplings, beets salad, arugula and endives, skillet bread, tunisian carrots, brussel sprouts, mushroom mac n cheese, and the bone marrow. Overall, the meal was pretty good. The things that we liked most were the salads, the bone marrow, and the mac n cheese flavorwise. The brussel sprouts were under seasoned to us, the tunisian carrots too heavy handed and not as balanced as would like. We would stop by again to try other offerings (and the wine of course). Generally, Stark restaurants have been good overall and the service hasn't disappointed.

Yelp
Hit this location around 5 ish and was able to get a table outside with just right amount of sun and shade, They have great wine flights for about $18.00 , Share plates are always great here. Service is fast and friendly and professional. Great options of cocktails too. Pretty much you can't go wrong here.

Yelp
Fantastic Happy Hour!! (3-5pm). Will definitely come back for the regular dinner menu, portions are tapas style (more food to try). Bar staff very attentive even on HH.

Yelp
Food was good, ambiance was fine. Warm on a cool evening. Service was, well first time in, meh, seemed to be just a job. Wine recommendations were meh, food recommendations were spot on, all in all a good experience, could have been better. Personality wins customers!

Michelle P.

Yelp
The food here is phenomenal! The small plates give you the perfect opportunity to sample a variety of dishes from the menu. The happy hour is an absolute must--don't miss it! Be sure to try the smash burger and goat cheese fritters--they're unforgettable. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Yelp
We had not been to Willi's for several years, missed the old site which was convenient for us. Having said that the current location is well set up with a nice patio area, high tops and a nice bar and a sit down restaurant area. We had a 6:00pm reservation and were seated immediately. Large diverse menu, we ordered the Tunisian Carrots which were a favorite and were just as good as we remembered. Came prepared with Pine Nuts, Olives & Mint. Next was the Pork Belly Pot Stickers with Five Spice & Shiitake Mushrooms which were tasty but lacked real pork belly flavor. Next was the Organic Brick Chicken Thighs with Tzatziki Sauce, Fried Onion Salad. The surprise of the night. These were flavorful, tender and the sauce was perfect. Last was the Moroccan Style Lamb Chops. Also remember these being awesome and they didn't disappoint. Great flavors. For beverages my wife had the Albariño wine which she enjoys and I had the Oskar German style lager. Willi's is a popular meeting place for people, there were several groups dining last night. Service was friendly and laid back, made for a relaxing evening. Willi's is a mix of old favorites and new innovative presentation. Won't be several years before we return!

Yelp
Amazing service, delicious drinks, and 10/10 food, what more could one ask for in a happy hour? I have gone to Willis with my family for years and years, and it was for many years where I'd opt for a special birthday dinner. Though they had to recover from relocation after the fires and then COVID, they are even better than they've ever been. I enjoyed the cucumber cocktail on the happy hour menu, and the old fash was well balanced and a little spiced. Goat Cheese balls are a must every time, and the filet sliders as well! The lobster creamed corn was something new for me and i wish i could have it on a regular basis. to finish the chocolate banana bread pudding was literally perfect, like a nutella banana cinnamon roll, moist and decadent. that is all!

Yelp
Starting off with the ambiance - very cute & welcoming ! I loved all the greenery in the front when you walk in - would be a great place to sit when it's not rainy :) inside is spacious and clean - could accommodate a good sized group. Food wise ! My favorite was the flash fried calamari ~ every single bite was so crunchy and the sauce was amazing ! It was an orange sauce that was perfectly tossed in the crispy bites. My next favorite was the Wagyu Beef Tataki Truffle Ponzu & Fresh Horseradish - it hit all my taste buds ! The beef was perfectly sliced so it wasn't too chewy or tooo thin. The mu shu pork was okay ~ I think it was missing a cream element so we ordered mayo on the side which made it very yummy. Pork was only a tad bit overcooked but overall everything tasted great. I can't wait to come back to try more dishes - but I will definitely be getting the calamari and beef tataki again!

Yelp
Willi's never fails to impress! I'm a huge fan of Willi's in Healdsburg and couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit this location in Santa Rosa after doing some wine tasting nearby. Stopped by for a light dinner on an early Saturday evening and it was just starting to get busy. I absolutely adore how rustic and cozy this spot is! The indoor dining room is open and airy. They have a covered side patio that's equipped with heat lamps. The patio seemed like the place to be that evening, so I decided to dine outside. Not gonna lie... I was pretty damn toasted that night and I ain't talkin' about the weather either. After wine-ing for most of the day, I didn't think that my body could take anymore wine. But after I looked at their elaborate wine menu, I had to have a least one glass. And that's exactly what I did. Had just ONE delicious glass of White Burgundy from Imagery Estate Winery and it was light and refreshing. Afterall, it IS Willi's "Wine" Bar. Couldn't drop by without having some wine, but I also know my limits. Their wine menu is extensive and I wouldn't expect anything less. I love that you can choose between two or five ounce pours. They also have wine flights and of course you can purchase by the bottle as well. The wine is FINE, ladies and gents! With wine comes food. Since I was slightly wine full, I decided to stick with some light appetizers. The nice thing about Willi's is that their menu is tapa-esque. They've got an excellent selection of seafood, light bites, and salads. If you've been to their location in Healdsburg, then you should already know what to expect here. I'm lightweight addicted to their curried crab tacos. Tried them once and have neverrr looked back. It's so hard for me NOT to get this when I'm at Willi's. So of course, I ordered the tacos along with some baked oysters. To say that everything was delicious would be a total understatement. The oysters tasted so fresh and were baked to perfection. The crab tacos were dynamite as usual. These ain't your traditional tacos and that's why I love them so much. The taco shell is like a wonton and the filling consist of curried crab meat with hints of apple and mint. Sounds a little different but trust... it is addictive. Let's shine a little spotlight on the service right quick; 'tis fabulous! The staff was kind and accommodating. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits and that's always a pleasure to witness. The patrons are equally pleasant. I had a nice little chat with a lady who was dining solo. She was a local and told me that Willi's was her go-to spot for all things dinner and wine. I believe it. The place was poppin' with all kinds of diners. Such a fun time at Willi's always and I'm looking forward to returning when I'm back in Santa Rosa.

Yelp
Nice restaurant, cozy atmosphere, delicious food, nice servers. I miss the old Carmen's in this space, but Willi's is a great replacement!

Yelp
Happy Hour Heaven! We came here to celebrate the end of a busy week-party of three. It was a welcoming surprise to see that Happy Hour is now offered. So exciting-as this is one of our go to weekly meet up locations. The menu is creative and offers a wonderful selection of "small dishes" that showcase the culinary mix of delicious local ingredients. The Happy Hour menu is a selection small bites that will please everyone such as: the Smash burger, spicy fries, goat cheese fritters, olives, crispy boneless chicken wings, and a nice selection of cocktails. All perfectly Delicious!! Staff: Always so welcoming and helpful! Happy hour time: 3-5pm and seating is available at the Bar and patio Note: very busy-so come early.

Yelp
An "upscale" but not really upscale restaurant serving pan-Asian-inflected cuisine that doesn't knock anything out of the park, but is completely adequate for a casual night out with friends. This is not peak dining, nor does it suggest it is. I found some of the dishes (particularly the scallop dumplings) mediocre, while others (a great ahi tuna) more exciting.

Yelp
I took my good friend Pamela to her favorite restaurant, Willi's Wine Bar, to celebrate her birthday today. We arrived just in time for happy hour. We were so pleased to learn that happy hour prices were about half the prices on the regular menu that we ordered at least one of everything on the menu. The exception was that we each order our own mini burger and two flavors of wings. We enjoyed everything, and we agreed that the goat cheese fritters were our favorite. I enjoyed my espresso martini, and she enjoyed her cucumber cooler, but we agreed that they were both tasted light on the alcohol. Service was great, the ambiance on the outside patio was great, and we had a wonderful time. We will definitely go there again -- most likely during happy hour.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for a late lunch on a Thursday so it wasn't busy at all. Staff was friendly and attentive, parking was okay (it's a little limited) and food came quick! We ended up sharing all of the following dishes: --Liberty Farms Pulled Duck BBQ, with Smoked Cheddar Polenta $15: This was my favorite as I really like polenta. The polenta and the dish itself is a little more on the heavier side, however definitely worth it! --Pork Belly Pot Stickers with Five Spice & Shiitake Mushrooms $14: Great flavors, but a bit too oily for my taste --Dean's Pork Ribs with Fresno Chilies, Lemon, Garlic & Chili Oil $14: Nicely cooked pork ribs, great flavor with a decent amount of meat. --Curried Crab Tacos with Apple, Cucumber & Mint $17: I didn't taste the curry that much, but the lightness of this dish was really nice! Lastly, I ended up getting the Rose flight; each pour was 2 oz. Rose is a hit or miss for me; I don't tend to find many Rose wines as good as others. I think I would pass on this one next time, however it wasn't bad; but just wasn't for me. I can see myself coming back when I'm in town.

Yelp
Came here for Father's Day and had a wonderful lunch. We sat outside on the covered patio and had attentive service. The inside of the restaurant was also nicely decorated and looked comfortable. I had did Chardonnay wine flight which had a good variety of Chardonnay styles. We did family style with each dish, all were delicious. A table favorite was the pulled duck. Willis would also be a great date night spot!

Yelp
Willi's is kind of hidden away, but they have a great happy hour! Was able to sit outside. Staff lowered a sun shade to keep the heat off us. Special shout out to Berto! Sometimes during happy hours you can't expect great service, but Berto was very attentive and accommodating.
