Willowsong

Unforgettable experience. I invited my friends over for some casual drinks but at first we all got overwhelmed, however, Alex made exceptional suggestions and his service was top notch. He delivered more than just delicious food and drinks, he led us on a fun journey of discovery and exploration of the restaurant’s unique new menu.

We were lucky enough to snag a table at Willowsong on Valentine's Day. I was a little worried that since it was a new restaurant, there might be kinks to work out, but the evening went along well and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Our server Sipan knew the menu well and could give us additional information on the food and drinks. He was attentive and additional staff stopped by to ask us how everything was going. Some food highlights: My husband is picky about his meatballs, and he enjoyed the meatball appetizer. The strip loin was cooked well, and the earl grey and chocolate napoleon had great flavor! We had some good cocktails and and Sipan offered to bring me a new cocktail when he accidentally took my unfinished one. We enjoyed our experience at Willowsong and would recommend it to our friends!

We had dinner at Willowsong about a week after it opened, while staying at InterContinental Washington DC/The Wharf. Our server, Rohat, was very courteous/friendly and informative and provided excellent service. We enjoyed the Roasted Nectarine Salad, Red Wine Dry Aged Striploin, and special Valentine's cheesecake which were great (and would definitely order again). The Squid Ink Orecchiette, however, overly salty for our tastes. There were loud intermittent screeching noises apparently caused by very high winds outside during much of our dinner (that are hopefully atypical). Overall, however, we enjoyed both the food and service and hope to return in the future.
