WOW. This is the place for dim sum in all of Massachusetts. Everything was delicious, even chicken feet (which normally I do not eat: if you haven’t had chicken feet before, try it here) Cantonese friends showed me this place, telling me it was the best: they were right. The tea is especially good: I had maybe 15 cups of it. For 6 people, a lot of foot was only 115 dollars. WORTH IT!

I had a very bad experience with this DIMSUM shop, when I gave the bill and paid, the two waiters asked me if I would tip them and I gave them an extra tip but they seemed to be unhappy. When they took the money with my tip, I saw the two of them had an attitude and badmouthed me in Chinese. I will never come back.

Came at opening time. Food comes fast and piping hot. Cash only but there’s an ATM ($2 fee), and staff are happy to make change. Street parking, no lot. Fresh food, not frozen. Tea comes with extra hot water to top off your own pot. Tight quarters, can get crowded.

Google
Great food, highly recommended for dim sum as well as some entree dishes that can be ordered from the menu. It was quite full when my friends and I visited, but we were able to be seated immediately since we were okay with sharing a table with another group. Would happily come visit again!

The food is incredibly delicious, but unfortunately, they only accept cash.

Cash only! Fantastic food and service. I could eat here every week. This is definitely a must go to place.

The location in Chinatown is usually my go-to for dim sum. This was my first time ordering from the Quincy location. Maybe it tastes better dining in, but there were some issues with the take-out. - Deep Fried Shrimp and Chives Dumplings ($7.45): The outside was not that crispy, but I expected that since I was not eating them fresh with delivery. The filling taste was okay. - BBQ Pork Buns ($6.45): The bun had a raw flour taste, so I think it needed to be cooked longer. I ended up only being able to eat the BBQ pork filling, which was not that much. - Minced Beef Rice Roll ($7.45): The dough for this also had a weird flavor like the BBQ pork buns, and the beef was not that good. - Salted Egg Yolk Custard Lava Sesame Balls ($7.45): These were good. They had a nice crust, and the custard was not too sweet, even though it did not ooze out. - Spareribs in Black Bean Sauce ($6.75): These were also good. Decent amount of meat on the bones.

Google
I love how this restaurant provides menu with the pictures of the food that we don’t have to guess what we order. Fast service, friendly staffs and at least they know basic English. Eating dim sum must be paired with hot tea. Taste of the food is just okay but not very special. Very limited parking, cash only payment, small place so you better prepare to queue on their busy hours are among the cons.

Yelp
Authentic, yummy dim sum spot! We came here with family and thankfully didn't have too long a wait around 1030-11am on a Saturday. We got lucky with a table for 8. The congee, shrimp rice rolls, pork buns, and pretty much everything we had was tasty. Don't miss the salt pepper calamari! That was my favorite out of all the dishes. It's a no-frills, dim sum restaurant. They don't have carts like other places do but would recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to have the day off and come here with my family. We're blessed that my son eats everything. He sure does enjoy dimsum. He loves their steamed rice noodles with shrimp. He's slowly loving shu Mai. Definitely loves the har gow. Need to go back again lol

Yelp
Stopped in for dim sum meal with six adults. Had to wait at least 20 min for a table. Place was packed. Ordered quite a bit of dim sum, beef chow fun, whole tilapia, walnut shrimp, pea pod tips, bok choy, beijing pork chop. Majority of dim sum was good to very good. Entrees were all good. Wanted to order twin lobsters which were advertised on front door as 2 for $38, but we were told it was more expensive and the deal was for take out lobsters, which makes no sense. Service was so so, no one asked for drinks besides tea, no asking how food was, no refilling tea pot. Good place, but could be better. No parking lot, just street parking and you have to pay in cash. Will go back to China Pearl once they finish renovations.

Yelp
Windsor is a small dim sum spot. It's cash only, and there's a good chance you'll be sharing a table with others. We always go for the shrimp rice rolls (腸粉) and shrimp dumplings (蝦餃)--both are fresh and tasty. I'd rate the food somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but the staff has been really friendly every time we've visited, which bumps the experience up for us
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Food is awesome. They only take cash, which is a down side. Also, no parking lot so you have to park at businesses across the street. I found the service good and friendly- the crowd eating there seemed like the business was good.

Yelp
***CASH ONLY*** Winsor Dim Sum House, I believe, serves dim sum from open to close, just keep in mind that they are cash only (sign posted at the front entrance door!) I hadn't been here in a while, probably around 5-6 years ago. Not much has changed. I was craving dim sum at 5pm and decided to go with Winsor since they're local + offer dim sum after 3pm still. A little chaotic in there today, but it was indeed New Year's Day! We lucked out with a table before their dinner rush. What we ordered: -sui mai -XO fried radish cake -lava egg yolk sesame balls -fried taro? Thoughts: A good place to go for authentic, no frills dim sum. No complaints here! We were seated with the quickness and were able to be in and out.

Yelp
The food was VERY FRESH and flavorful. It was busy...and I know why. It was wonderful and we enjoyed every bite! So glad we found this place!! Highly recommend

Yelp
Personally one of the BEST dim sum places I have ever been! The items on their menu I would recommend getting is the Egg Yolk Lava buns, Shrimp Rice roll, and Congee! The egg yolk lava buns has a perfect blend of sweet and saltiness with a great texture! The Shrimp rice roll nicely fuses the light taste of the rice roll and the savory flavors from the shrimp. The congee is a great combination of rice, pork, and egg. The lightness of the dish really makes you feel better especially during the cold seasons! The family-style restaurant is usually packed during the morning/afternoon on weekends! I went during the evening on a weekday and the service was fast and efficient! I highly recommend going here with a group of friends or a group outing!

Yelp
Yet another rainy and gloomy weekend. Today, I decided to have a few of my favorite comfort foods delivered. New Winsor has some good dim sum, but today, I opted for their wontons, boiled dumplings, and supreme soy sauce pan-fried noodles. Let's cut to the food. To my surprise, their wontons and boiled dumplings are pretty good, but the broth is not as good. The wontons and boiled dumplings are of decent size and have a good amount of flavorful filling. The boiled dumplings used wonton wrappers as well and that didn't bother me. I could tell the difference between the wonton and boiled dumplings by the shape and the fillings. I favor a bowl of wontons over boiled dumplings, only because I feel boiled dumplings can be a hit or miss depending on the way they are made. The supreme soy pan-fried noodles were just ok. I would have liked it to have some wok-hei. However, the portion I got is very generous. I did get the beef with Chinese broccoli and that wasn't great. It was extremely saucy and the broccoli was overcooked. However, I am happy to know I can get some good wontons. That will make me come back here just for that.

Yelp
I NEVER COME BACK WINSOR DIM SUM HOUSE & BAR I had a very bad experience with this DIMSUM . I want to pay card, but they made me pay cash only. when I gave the bill and paid, the two waiters asked me pay extra TIPS. I will never come back

Yelp
Still very good dim sum. On a damp New Year's Day, my Chinese gf and I went here at lunchtime. As it is small and very popular, we had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table, which was not a tough wait. Once seated, we requested chili oil, hot mustard and soy sauce, which arrived within seconds. As usual whenever we eat here, we stuck with dim sum. As you order with a pencil on a paper menu, everything is served hot and made to order. Their har gao is superb, with the shrimp neither over nor undercooked. The tofu skin wraps with pork, bamboo shoots etc. were nice and hot and very filling, and also were not overly drenched in liquid! If you like eggplant, the stuffed panfried eggplant is a major star. Served hot, but not drenched with oil, the eggplant and shrimp stuffing are heavenly. We also had their steamed shrimp and chive dumplings (good, but not amazing) and the panfried turnip cake, which is perfectly cooked (crispy, but not burnt) and served with hoisin. We were stuffed and, with tea for 2, price came to $35.50. People at the register all recognized us (but we go maybe 4times/year) and smiled and wished us happy new year. It is not fancy, nor even beautiful, but the ambiance is family friendly and very cordial. Recommended!

Yelp
So good! This was our first dim sum experience, and it was delicious. It gets packed fast, but we were able to be seated at a shared table within 20 minutes of arriving for lunch. It's a little tough to get someone's attention, but the food comes out fast and any attention you do grab is helpful. Looking forward to trying another dim sum experience.

Yelp
Remember this spot when they opened, still busy til this day especially for dimsum. The place has bar seating and table seating yes not as large as others in the city but u can dine in just fine. They make smoothies and has a bar for beer etc. The Dimsum's dishes are ordered on your menu sheets and or from the regular menu. You can order traditional dishes or dimsum and they are made to order, no space for the carts but we usually pop in from time to time when i go there. Rice noodles, the fried rice flour with sweet pork, crab leg shrimp balls, shu mai and chrysanthemum tea. Glad we have options to choose from in Q.
google avatar

Magda C.

Yelp
Food was great, the rest is nothing to mention as it's a really casual place. We paid $60 for two people and we were so full! Cash only.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the order. The fried chicken was dried and thin. Looks like it was leftover from overnight and the tofu vegetables dish was overcooked.

Olga N.

Yelp
So it was not good food. We had shrimp dim sum it didn't cook through and the rice wasn't cooked as well. I e also had chow mein, I've tried way better this was a bit nasty, their fried shrimp roll was good besides the celery in the middle. Unnecessary. So one star because as we were leaving the waiter came after us for not leaving a tip. She said we had to leave a tip. I don't know how things are run there but that was not my understanding of the restaurant business. Anyway I would leave lower review if I could. Not good food.

Yelp
This where I fell in love with dim sum! Winsor Dim Sum House is the perfect entry level place to try dim sum! Great option , great service and amazing tasting food! I loved the chines sausage and the pork bun! Visit her often so good! Inside is super clean but quant they also offer carry out!
google avatar

Yelp
I love dim sum and I'm so glad I got to come here. The food was delicious!! The pricing was reasonable and the portion sizes were good. That being said, I came on a Sunday morning with a party of 2 and the wait was at least 30 minutes. It was crowded inside and loud (which is how you know the food is good) and it was interesting the way the tables were split up for different parties using dividers. I also felt like the service was slow after we were seated especially because I don't speak Chinese. As to be expected from an authentic restaurant, I suppose.
google avatar

Florence K.

Yelp
Came on a weekday lunch and got seated immediately. Service was pretty quick as well. You pick and order dim sum here so it's not a place where carts are being pushed. Dim sum is pretty average here but would venture out of Chinatown to get better food!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was so good! Two dishes that I thought were particularly good were the congee and the fried sesame ball with the salty egg yolk(?). Generous filling in the red bean buns. Authentic, tasty, and great value. - No carts, you order everything on a piece of paper. There is a menu with pictures that can be helpful! - Most tables don't have a lazy susan - They give you a pitcher of hot water to refill your tea, which is quite convenient - Efficient service. Our food came out pretty quickly. - Cash only sign on the door but per other reviews it seems you can pay with card over a certain minimum. We paid $20 pp and were able to try a bunch of dishes! - They try to be as fast as they can about seating people, although sometimes you have to share a table with another party

Moneys W.

Yelp
Good place. We would go back. We like that you can get dim sum at any time here. They should post on their website that they only accept cash. This comes as a surprise when you arrive. Maybe a reason why there weren't many people here? We also liked their place in Chinatown. All the dishes we had were great. Service is much better than at Mings. In fact, a little too quick. I hate it when places take a serving plate away without asking. I like to keep the sauces left from some dim sum plates to dip in. Before you notice, it's gone. One other thing I'll mention about this place and many other dim sum places I've visited in Boston. When customers sit down to dim sum, it is courtous for the waiter/waitress to pour your first cup of tea, to the older folks first out of respect. You then return the appreciation by tapping with your fingers on the tablecloth. It is part of the ritual. Once most places notice that you're not Asian, they just drop the tea pot down on the table and walk away. As if we don't deserve the same respect or courtesy. I find this rude. They wouldn't dare do that to elderly Chinese customers, so why us?
google avatar

Yelp
This place is cash only. If you don't carry any cash with you, fret not. There is an ATM machine inside the restaurant. I came here with a friend on Saturday night. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable about their food. We ordered shrimp dumplings (har kau), pork and shrimp dumplings (siu mai), BBQ pork buns, shrimp rice rolls, and small salt and pepper calamary. We loved their dimsum menu and quality. most of their dumplings neither soggy nor chewy. I'd definitely return in the near future to try their other dishes.

Molly E.

Yelp
Had an amazing dim sum lunch with my sister this afternoon. Food was great and arrived quickly once we were able to give our order. Cash Only!

Yelp
Food used be amazing but over time this place has gone down hill. This place is filled with cockroaches and rats, every time I drive by the resturaunt I also notice kitchen staff has their back door wide open smoking cigarettes by the kitchen. I don't know how this place has been able to get away with food inspections from the health department of Quincy.
google avatar

Yelp
We went in around 4/5 on a weekday and it was empty. It is a cash-only establishment, but there's an ATM up front. As far as food, we ordered five dim sum and a noodle dish. The noodle dish never arrived, even though the server wrote it on our dimsum sheet, which was fine since they didn't charge for it and we weren't really hungry for more anyways. The dimsum itself was not bad, but not the best I've had. The Har kau was 7/10, the pork dumplings were 10/10, the spring rolls were 10/10, the pork and peanut dumplings were maybe 2/10 (weird textures and flavors), and the fried pork buns were 11/10, with an incredible flavor of sweet and salty. Id recommend the fried buns and pork dumplings for sure. The dipping sauce was too vinegary/sweet and did not really go with the other flavors on our table. Overall it is just an okay dim sum place, especially for the price.

Yelp
This is my favorite Dim Sum place in Massachusetts to date. The food always tastes freshly prepared, the prices are reasonable and the place is always crowded, apparently even during the week. I usually come on the weekends, but on my last visit it was during the work week for lunch, I kind of expected it to be light, but it was packed and we had to wait about 15 minutes. They have a lobster special after 3 pm in the afternoon, which lowers the cost by about 20 dollars if I recall correctly. I wish it was all the time. The decor is plain and typical utilitarian dim sum place style. It's kind of packed as it's a small place and a lot of people want to be in there. They have a number of rather special seafood items on the regular menu such as oysters and scallops in the shell in different styles that were pretty good, the cost was by the piece but I liked them. In closing this places Dim Sum will stand up with the best of them and I have tried quite a few items here.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday for lunch around 11:30am and noticed they get pretty consistent traffic of dining in and take out. The dining area isn't too big so it fills up quickly. There was a wait shortly after we sat down. This is not a push cart dim sum place. You get a menu and select them with a pencil in a paper menu. The food came out quickly and I enjoyed them all except for the radish cake. The radish cake was a big disappointment as it didn't have much ingredient and was just a piece of dough. Restrooms were tidy and clean. You have to bring CASH as they are CASH ONLY. This does in turn make their prices reasonable from the dim sum to the main menu entrees. They do use msg as I got a bit thirsty after eating but not a hefty amount. Would come again when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Cash only. Food was mediocre. Service was mediocre. Service was fast and food came out in decent time. Restrooms were a bit dirty.
google avatar

Marty M.

Yelp
Please put an employee must wash hands sign in Chinese in the restrooms. Saw a cook walk out without washing his hands.

Yelp
Winsor offers some of the best dim sum in the Boston area. We sampled a number of delicious dishes for lunch today. Shrimp Rice Rolls - good sized shrimp in every bite. Shrimp Har Gau - again, big pieces of shrimp but my wife felt the wrapping was too thick Chicken Feet - pretty good. Standard fare BBQ Pork bun - 3 pieces, lots of bbq pork, good flavoring Sticky Rice - you get two large rolls wrapped in banana leaf. Pretty good Steamed Rice with Chicken, Chinese Sausage and tree fungus. Pretty good but it was missing the tree fungus. This place is crazy busy. There will be a short lineup. You save time if you are willing to share a table. It's cash only. I will be back!
google avatar

Damao L.

Yelp
I don't know why so many people go there. Today was my first time going there for breakfast with my partner. The utensils on my side were dirty, the tea cup looks like never washed, there was a dead ant in my plate. The color of the jasmine was the same color as the urine, and did not taste like tea. The water tasted funny, I am luck I got a bottle of water my bag. The food we ordered did not taste good. We called this is our one-time-pass place. There is another dim sum place near 99, at least the food tastes much better than this place. Very disappointing visit!
google avatar

Kiki W.

Yelp
Our favorite Dimsum place! Winsor is a super popular Dimsum stop for the weekends. No reservations as it's first come, first serve. But so worth the wait. A must try! Also - 2 words: Crab Claws!
google avatar

Jen H.

Yelp
I'll be bringing my Cantonese parents here soon to give them a try at this dim sum spot. To my husband and I that's how we knew Winsor Dim Sum is it. I knew of Winsor Dim Sum from the downtown location. I was happy there was one in Quincy to try out. We walked out satisfied and wanting to come back with family. I will say, definitely factor in a bit of a wait. While this location is small, they got everyone in and out more quickly than expected. With their method of checking off if you'd be willing to share a large table or sit at the bar, they quickly run through the list. At noon on a Saturday husband and I waited 20 minutes max and sat at the bar. We still got great food and service at the bar. I gotta tell you, my husband and I were going "mmm" with each bite of our dim sum. Everything was good. His top were the shrimp rice rolls, and black bean chicken feet, pan fried turnip cake. He was going "wow" at the flavors and immediately ranked most of these as the top in each category (ex. He thinks this is the best ha cherng he's ever had. I'm proud he named them in Cantonese). My top were the siu mai (shrimp and pork dumpling), Wu ha (deep fried shrimp and taro), and the ha cherng as well. In fact if you looked at me for my first bite of siu mai you would've seen me spinning happily in my chair at the bar. They have juicy, flavorful, large siu mai here. What was also good was the crab claw with shrimp stuffing, which is my dad's favorite. I texted him and my family a picture and he already is asking where and when can we go. My sister says she already knows her and her boyfriend (who grew up in the area) love this spot and give it a thumbs up. We'll absolutely be back. Great job Winsor Cafe!

Brady L.

Yelp
5 star because the delicous noodles and I love everything in their food and I want to go give them 5 star because there dumplings it is very good and there chicken claws is very good so they have great quality
google avatar

Yelp
Winsor has been my go to for dim sum in the area. They have fresh and hot dim sum thats always brought to your table moment after leaving the steamer or wok. I went on Monday which happened to be MLK Day and it was packed! But we were able to get a table after 5 minutes and the food came out quickly after we ordered. Everything was delicious, except for the soup dumplings which had almost no soup. They did forget one of the things were had ordered but we were so full by the time we noticed, so they just took it off our bill.
google avatar

Kelly Z.

Yelp
Great food and fast service! Perfect for bringing your entire family! They have lots of big tables and good service. The scallops and vermicelli is everybody's favorite, it is a delicacy that everyone loves. Normally each person gets a shell! The scallop is juicy and tender, and the sauce is perfectly balanced with the noodles. The clams in black bean sauce is yummy, it's sweet and savory. Some clams didn't have some meat in it though. The jumbo shrimp with Mayo is my favorite! The Mayo is Kewpie Mayo which is different from American Mayo. The shrimp is fried and coated with the sweet savory Mayo! The chicken had a nice thin and crispy skin, the meat was super juicy and flavorful. The sweet and sour pork is what you expect, but I'm not a fan because each piece was so tiny. Overall, the food is good and BTW this place is cash only! The ambiance is great, lots of families eat there at night so it's perfect for family and friend gatherings.
google avatar

Des B.

Yelp
First impression- this place must be good because I can't even fit in the door to grab a table. Took about 20 minutes for us a get a table for 7 people. Not bad at all!! Food comes out fast and was pretty yummy. My absolute favorite was the shrimp dumplings and the Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. So, so good! Because food comes out as it's ready, we started ordering more portions of things we loved totally forgetting that we had more food coming. Cash only but they have an ATM right at the front with only a $2 service fee. Will be back!

Jiaqi H.

Yelp
There was a cockroach crawling on our table. All they offered was for us to move to another table. Food was mediocre. So unsanitary. Service was horrible. Had to ask for bowls for the congee and more water. Don't waste your time or your money

Yelp
Sad to give a negative review here, because I do like this place. The Boston Location is better in my opinion. Location: I would say it's convenient around other Asian offering available in south shore, Street Parking is plenty, I haven't experience much trouble finding parking. Food: definitely leaning toward the good ones i have as I'm very into Dim Sum. Service: My issue with dim sum in many places is the tea/water charge which this place has well. My 15% on total which is like 18% before tax goes toward just ordering food and taking over food. Dim Sum often do not offer any service due to nature of the business. A dining restaurant often have server checking up on their customers, refill drinks, ask about dessert, etc. Dim Sum is where you check off what you need and ask for a server yourself. Tipping in Dim Sum has been my biggest pain point for decades but it's not the icebreaker for me. Now my reason behind the negative review. I had a meal there last year, and I found a hair inside a roll. I asked the server to bring a new empty plate because i found a hair in a roll. Of course the server did, but nothing after that. It was like it's a casual thing here, he walked over, took away the plate, brought me a clean plate, and walked away. Normally under the circumstances at elsewhere, I would likely see the server apologizing, possibly follow up by a store manager with an explanation and promise to do better in the future. Imagine a server killed a cockroach on your table, then proceed to walk away with it like nothing happened. that's how i felt when i walked out and vow to never return again. I wouldn't mind going to the one in the city, but never again in the quincy location.

Yelp
I hate wasting food but this shit is dry and cold af!!don't even get me started on the soup dumplings there is no soup and all dough
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, I like the chili oil they had on the table. Everything had good flavor. Beef tripe was juicy and not overcooked. Utensils and plates could be a bit cleaner, as well as the restroom.

Chas F.

Yelp
Authentic dim sum in unpretentious surroundings with a mostly Cantonese-speaking clientele and no-nonsense quick service. Cash only. Street parking.
google avatar

Allegra P.

Yelp
It had been a while since my last visit so we had to get all the hits we've been missing. Two bowls of clams (they're so good), shrimp rice rolls, har gow (Crystal shrimp dumplings), siu mai, fried shrimp and crab ball, soup/ juicy dumplings, turnip cake, another fried soft sweet dumpling I forget the name of, and a fried taro crusted shrimp patty thing. Staff was quick and polite. I mean we really balled out here, and only spent $100 including tip. Had some excellent leftovers after this meal. Plus lots of families eat there so you know it's a good place.

Mark G.

Yelp
My family and I have been going to Chen's restaurants our whole lives. By far the Windsor dim sum in Quincy is the best of the best. The food is always fresh. It is always prepared. Fresh is authentic Chinese food. I would recommend this restaurant for anybody who's looking for, the best Chinese restaurant in the Boston area. Mark G from sharon

Yelp
I wouldn't get the spareribs again as it was plain as well as the rice rolls, or the radish cake as it tasted too similar to another type of dry fried flat noodle dish. I would come back again if needed.

Yelp
Quincy dimsum staple My family and I come here all the time for dimsum. It's been years and they still love it. There's always a long line here on weekends so make sure you are prepared. I'm not sure why the ratings are so low. It's good quality at a great price point. Last time ordered some take out abs it's great. I really enjoy their steamed shrimp rice rolls, sesame balls, tripe, and tofu soup. Reminds me of home because my parents and I would always get it together.

Yelp
This place is not sanitary. I see workers smoking in kitchen while they're cooking when i go to the bathroom. Bathroom has a smell and not clean. I saw a dead cockroach on the side of the wall where I'm sitting, i told them but they act like nothing happened. Guess unsanitary is normal for them!! Food is dry or very oily! Also food is not that tasty. Chinatown Winsor taste better! Thought they are were the samething but its actually two different companies. If i want dim sum i would go back to the chinatown one!

Yelp
This is the best Dim Sim I have ever eaten. Everything was super fresh and tasty! The portions were also very large. Dim Sum not as cheap as it was once. 1 order each of Shumai, bbq pork bun, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leave and Har Gow was $30.
