Witch Topokki

Was overall a good experience with exception of a few things noted below. The food for the most part tasted better than I expected and they all seemed fresh. I especially enjoyed the hot food section. The rice cakes were chewy and tasted good but a few of the choices of food didn't taste good in my opinion. The powder for the soup base tasted more like chemicals than a fragrant deep sweet flavor like I am used to at other restaurants/home made but it is understandable since it is an AYCE. Also the fish on a stick/meat balls tasted bad , cheap and too fishy/off for my taste. In addition , Price is a little higher than I wanted since I went in the evening , paid $23.50 per person , i believe it is 20 for the lunch time. at 20 a person it is worth it in my opinion as I mentioned the taste is much better than I expected for almost everything and it seemed fresh. The waiter and waitress were both pleasantly polite. Asked multiple times every couple minutes if we needed anything. Even though it has some flaws i still give 5 stars because overall solid and also it is great to see the creativity of this new type of restaurant.

The table setup is very well done. There is lots of space and the self serve concept works well for toppoki. There are quite a few selections for the rice cakes, including stuffed varieties (pumpkin, ube, etc.). The standout was the corn and cheese stuffed rice cake: it had a great chew factor with a creamy melted cheese and corn center. Having the sauce recipes available was a great touch and made it easy to adjust the sauce to our liking. The center pot with heating was easily controlled. The add ins were OK with a variety of beef balls, lobster balls, fishcakes, bok choy, spinach, and eggs. We enjoyed the rose sauce with a bit more of the spicy powder (5 chiles). The hot food area was well appointed with a variety of fried potatoes (sweet) along with pizza and some decent fried chicken (plain or with a sweet chili sauce). The fish rolls in soup were a bit too over boiled, but had a ton of flavor. The service was great! Servers were attentive and answered any questions we had about cooking method and about the cold/hot food self serve area. It was a good experience but maybe Topokki is just not meant for me to enjoy en masse. My tummy felt a twinge of anguish from all that rice. But overall it was a great first experience at Witch Toppoki

TLDR: Topkki buffet? Lots of options, interesting concept just not sure how often I'd crave this. Reasonably priced, I think it's worth adding the fatty beef. Finally gave this place a try, this is where Izakaya Mew was located before. The concept is all you can eat Korean rice cakes. There's a decent selection of hot pot-ish items, some fried bites while you wait for your pot to be ready and lots of ramyun. We added the fatty beef which I recommend. What's tricky is you have to make the broth yourself and be sure to select the right spices and even more critically - the right amount of water. I appreciate the variety but it's also hard to eat much because it's carbs on carbs. They are open late and I'd be inclined to try again if hunger strikes in the wee hours of the night.

Good comfort food and an interesting first time dining experience. I've had shabu shabu and hot pot many times but what's interesting is the concept of the spices and making your own flavor base. Also cool was the choices of ramen we could choose from, there literally were shelves of them. I originally wanted to try the Bayside location but it's now closed so Flushing was the spot. Parking lot in the rear/side of the place but limited spots and it might share with a neighboring business. Not sure but it was 95% full when we were there on a Friday night at 8pm. The server asked if it was our first time and it was so she graciously showed us what to do and explained how the AYCE works vs the menu items you can add as supplemental. Hot bar, soup base, toppings, how to make the broth (suggestions on the wall) were very helpful. There was pizza, fried chicken three ways, fish cakes and fried squid to name a few. Fried rice and french fries too. Sneaky way to make us fuller faster, ha ha. It's a tasting while we wait for our food to cook. Smart. Between the three of us, I doubt we got our benefit of the AYCE because we only went thru 3 packs of ramen between 3 of us. But we filled up on toppings and veggies so it was well worth it for a night out. Soup base rose and carbonara was a great combo... Totally recommend. One thing to mention, you can make a reservation in advance which I had not anticipated needing to, as we got there and several tables were empty but we still couldn't be seated right away. They made us wait 15-20 minutes before we could sit and that table was previously unoccupied. Not sure why we had to wait. They were not at capacity. I frankly don't agree with this policy but it's happened at other establishments before, can someone explain?

Pro: they now let you have unlimited pot switches which is a nice upgrade from before. Also had nice selection of fried appetizers (the skewers were delicious!). We went on a weekend evening and got seated immediately. Con: the soft tofu was spoiled. It took a while for us to find a sauce combo that we liked because my partner and I didn't like sweet or too spicy but it seemed like the Witch Sauce was a little sweet. We ended up just using the sauce package in the ramen.

Great value, just very out of the way if you're taking public transportation. $20 AYCE lunch, $24 for dinner. Free beef belly after 3pm on weekdays. The way this works is that you pick some flavored powders to add flavor to a broth and then add toppings like rice cakes (toppoki), noodles, veggies, and seafood. In case you didn't know, you cook your own food. They also have fried foods and already cooked fish cakes available on the side. I loved the napa cabbage, woodear mushrooms, and rice cakes with our spicy broth. Tons of instant ramen pack options -- they even have Buldak carbonara which is super hard to find at stores these days. We didn't choose to add these to our toppoki, but others may choose to. My favorite combo for the powders was the black bean and witch powder, but even the lowest level of spiciness was a lot for me. They will only change the pot for you a couple of times, so be careful not to experiment too much with the powders and accidentally make something you don't like. Interestingly, I didn't spot any kimchi or cucumber salad while here, which is usually readily available at Korean restaurants. Service was friendly and helpful but kept us waiting a bit for the bill when the restaurant got busier. Since utensils and napkins are already at the table, you don't have to wait on them to ask for things like that. The ambiance inside was pretty nice -- clean, modern decor, spacious tables, and they played music.

Saw this place in tik tok and had to try it. We came on a weekday lunch so it wasn't busy. Husband has a shrimp allergy so we were given a table with 2 pots. He also eats spicy and I don't so it was perfect. If you are a first timer, they explain everything. Also your silverware is self service in a drawer at the end of the table. You put together your soup seasonings. I got all the mild ones. It was perfect for me. Grab all your veggies and noodles. The ramen wall is so awesome! Also there is a whole bar of hot food too. Everything I tried was good. For ayce $19.95! You can't beat the price! We are staying in the city but took the subway and walked 20 minutes to get here. Worth it to me!!! Especially since it wasn't crowded on a weekday.

One of the best buffet style topokki place! Everything is delicious and affordable! Location: It is located along Northern Blvd. There is a lot of seating outside and inside. There is parking at the back for free!! Service: Amazing staff! Only thing is that they are walking around and I felt uncomfortable cause they look like security guards. Lol Food: this is buffet style! You have to make your own sauce, the one I like is Rose Dance, cause its creamy with a little bit of spice. There is a wide variety of topokki, my favorite was the sweet corn cheese ball, meatballs, pork fish ball and the purple yum topokki. There is also hot foods, fried chicken and fried calamari are my favorites! On the side there is fish cake and fried rice that you have to get! There is a instant ramen that you can try as well on the display. Price rating: 6/10 its not that bad for the food! Its my second time here because its so good! I will definitely come back here! Second time here and the food is still amazing!

My first time trying this place AYCE rice cake place. My friend and I enjoyed our meals. We grabbed whatever can find and like to try. There are various spices that you can put in your hot pot. We just mixed several flavors in the pot and it was good! They also have rice cakes on the stick (Tteokkochi), it was delicious. It wasn't sweet. I love the chewy taste. The service was good. The waitress helped us and gave us an insight of the menu and explained how it works. It is worth checking out if you are in Flushing area. It is on Northern Blvd.

I love the rice cake and sausage skewers! Food was good but I got full after one ramen pack.

My group of 3 was very intrigued with a buffet style tteokbokki restaurant as we've never been to one. You can customize your shared pot with a variety of spices that have varying levels of spiciness. Fish broth is the default, but you can use water if you have a vegetarian. The staff was very accommodating to my vegetarian fried and was able to provide a separate pot for her. At the buffet bar, there are a ton of options for rice cake, seafood, veggies, etc. as well as many packaged ramen options. For even more indulgence, there were additional fried food options and skewered fish cakes to choose from. For the meal assembly, we chose a nice variety of carbs and seafood, however the whole experience felt more like I was eating under-flavored hot pot rather than a savory, creamy tteokbokki. Maybe the broth to seasoning ratio was off, but it didn't thicken at all. Adding cheese and protein was extra, but I'm not sure it would've made a difference to the broth. Good news is that it was good value at $23 for what is essentially an AYCE meal. It's an interesting concept, but I probably won't be back.

I visit in the afternoon on a weekend and there was not too many people. There's also parking available for customers which was very convenient. There were plenty of seating and we were seated in the sunroom area that had a lot of light. The staff were very quick to seat us and tell us the instructions as it was our first visit here. We tried the rose and spicy powder mix combination and it was delicious. We followed one of their sauce guide instructions, but it wasn't flavorful enough and we added extra spices to it. They were so many options from fish cakes on a stick to Korean fried chicken to french fries to ramen. There was just a lot of options to choose from and the food was pretty good too. My favorite would probably be the Korean fried chicken and the fried rice cakes on a skewer. We definitely did not eat $32 of food per person so I don't think it was worth the price. But it was definitely worth the experience and trying this fun all you can eat do it yourself spicy rice cake restaurant .

I was super excited to try this place because of this new concept but maybe it's the sauce we used, everything didn't taste all that great. We tried the curry sauce and then a mix of rose and carbonara as recommended by the waitress. There is a variety of Topokki that I've never tried so that was fun. We added cheese for an extra cost - it's pretty for the picture but for two people, it too much cheese. The appetizers were great - a bunch of fried foods and fish cake. We were definitely full too quick off the appetizers. We went when this place newly opened and the wait wasn't too long. I appreciate the wait list in the front that tells you where you stand in line. I would be down to go back to try this place again for the other sauces but also wouldn't go out of my way.

I love this place! It's my 2nd time visiting after seeing a post from a content creator @Sonamjyit on IG. This place is super clean and honestly cheap too. You get to choose whatever you want from scratch (sauce, soup, ingredients.) They also have small snacks on the side and everything was so delicious! Service was really quick as well. Their price has decreased as well, it was $20 something for lunch AYCE! Will be back

Came for dinner on a Saturday night. Weekends, regardless of Lunch or Dinner, is $23.95 per person. There's many rice cakes and fish cakes to choose from. Good selection of vegetables and ramen to choose from. The sauce bar (powdered seasoning) has 7 options with an easy recipe guide to follow (or create on your own). While you wait for the ddukbokki to cook, there's fried chicken (bone-in, boneless, and seasoned boneless), assortment of fried goodies (french fries, fried squid, vegetable fritter, etc), and fish cake soup. There is an option to add on ayce beef for an additional $5 per person. I thought this spot was worth the price but everything is self-service so can't comment much on that aspect.

2.5/5, rounding up bc it was a fun experience! Overall, everything was ok but I left feeling heavy and uncomfortable from all the carbs. I wish they had more meat options to balance out the meal. The only meat they had was beef, and it was not very fresh. I probably would have loved this as a kid, but it felt like a very unhealthy meal for me now :(

We've been meaning to try this place since it opened, and now that we have heard they lowered the price, we decided to go. We got there right when it opened, so they did not have all the sides out yet, specifically the fried food. We liked their decor and noticed they had a photo booth in the corner as well. This place is all-you-can-eat, and it works similarly to a typical all-you-can-eat hotpot place. We chose one of the recommended soup bases and got a variety of toppings, such as fishcakes, rice cakes, ramen, vegetables, eggs, etc. You can also get a plate of meat on the side for an additional cost. We also ordered two smoothies because they looked very good; however, they were a tad pricey ($7). Overall, we would come back here again for late lunch on a weekday because they offer a free plate of meat after 3 pm.

Great, quality food. A table for 4, we came just as they opened. They have two options for lunch and dinner. It was a fun experience overall. I'll def see myself returning once in a blue moon. As soon as you sit down, the menu is on the table as well as a bunch of utensils. The waiter will guide you through. There is soup base but you can customize with the variety of powders that they have. Everything has been clearly labeled, and a lot of interesting toppings/side dishes are presented. Alcohol is served at this facility as well. This place is for those who are the bold, takes high risks, love trying out funky flavors and combinations. It's crazy. They have a whole section dedicated to rice cakes. Ube rice cakes was a thing??? I didn't even know that haha

Ahhh I really wanted to like this place and it is really hyped up on Tiktok but it was mediocre. First of all, how much toppoki and ramen can you really eat? Second, they charge a good amount extra if you want premium items like meat. Third, the variety was lacking. They just had 2 veggies, lobster ball, fish ball, sweet potato, a few types of rice cakes and fish cakes. I think a few other items too like mushrooms but I wish they had things like meat or even slices of cheese on top. That said, the variety of packaged ramen is good and they also have hot fried foods like wings and fries. I'd suggest them to also extend the time limit so it's 2 hrs and not 1.5 hrs (they charge for every extra 30 min you stay beyond your limit). Again, how many pots of toppoki rice cakes and sausages can you eat? Also you need to keep getting up to choose your own soup base which does take time. This can be fun for some but if you dont like working for your own food, this aint the place for ya anyway. Overall: It was good but not that good. Don't come to Flushing just for this but if you love toppoki and find it fun to build your own pot and sauces and choose frm a variety of ramen), why not?

Have been wanting to try Witch Topokki for a while now since seeing it go viral on Tiktok. It was a pretty enjoyable experience- it's a lot of do it your own but the staff are super friendly and helpful. I can see why this place gets the hype, it's super cute! This would be a GREAT place for someone who loves tteokbokki. I also think this would be a great place for vegetarians as there are no meat options to put in the pot. I really enjoyed trying new types of tteokbokki. The ramen station was super cute but I think I mixed the ramen seasonings too much with the orginial seasonings. Recommend here to try out!

The place was surprisingly empty for a Saturday lunch, so we were able to get seated immediately. The staff was super nice, they walked through everything including how to cook stuff, where everything was located etc. They even helped us make our first soup base and cook out first pot, and after that, we were pretty much left to ourselves. The food bar is pretty great, it even includes a ramen WALL and misc fried snacks and skewers. Ingredients are pretty fresh, and i never knew there were so many kinds of topokki out there. Overall, i would come again for dinner next time I'm in the area!

It's so much fun and creative concept. The service is quick, and there was a line when we went. The fried chicken was BOMB. The prepped food was amazing. I love this concept. When I was full, I wanted to keep going. There are a lot of fun, unique rice cakes I want to go back. It's fun in groups or just as a date. Highly recommend. Def would go again.

Extremely underwhelming. I kept seeing videos about this place and had a friend that really wanted to give it a try, so we came here for her birthday. Mostly everything was extremely bland and disappointing. The restaurant itself is on the small side. If you've ever eaten hot pot, it is like this. The pot is shared. First, you choose the flavor of the soup by scooping powder into a bowl. There were 9 choices, 5 of which were spicy. We decided to mix the Rose with Carbonara. It came out pretty good, but extremely cheesy. I adore cheese, but the flavor became too much after a while. Next were the food choices. There were some pretty nice options to put in the soup. They had ramen (both bagged and plain), greens, mushrooms, fish tofu, egg, calamari, many flavors of fish balls and of course, the teokbokki which also had different flavors. As for the ready-to-eat options, they had fish tofu on a skewer, fries, chicken, dumplings, onion rings, seaweed with noodles. The fried chicken was mediocre in flavor and was extremely tough inside. Honestly everything was bland. One thing we did enjoy was the French fries, they were very crispy and delicious. We also liked the pork fish ball. We weren't expecting much after trying everything else but were surprised it was pretty good. The cheese teokbokki also wasn't bad. Our server was really nice, in the beginning she explained everything to us but then it was very hard to get her attention again. We wanted to order extra meat (separate fee) and we had to try flagging her down many, many times. We ended up ordering it with another server who just happened to be passing by. By that time we were almost finished eating. The restaurant itself was pretty clean from what I observed, but it's really hard to avoid cross contamination because it is self-serve. The raw shrimp was in the middle of the teokbokki and fish balls. In terms of the variety, it had a decent amount of choices but there were only 4 tables worth of food to choose from. One thing I did like was the yakult when we asked for the check.

Self- service and spacious. Employees were friendly and helpful. Food options were decent, but not a great ayce option for everyone. I much prefer Topokki as a side dish but it worth a try.

Love the concept of ayce topokki place as that is not common around here! Just wish the price was a little cheaper than the current price so I usually go here for lunch $22 vs. dinner $25 as I am usually full from the first round so can't get seconds. It is fun selecting your powder sauces and the ingredients that you want in the topokki. And they have a good selections of ramen if you want to include in your topokki. I appreciated the buffet with fried foods as I love dipping it within the topokki sauce. I want to say the powders are on the sweeter side and aren't too spicy. You can also add meats, cheese, and other options for additional cost so that's cool as well. They also have a good selection of drinks so fun place to go with your friends to socialize!!

This is one of my TOP favorite places. The food is amazing the service is top tier and everyone is so kind!! But my favorite thing is the ambiance it's so chill and I love bringing friends and dates here. It's intimate but also open. Highly highly HIGHLYYYYY recommend.

Surprisingly better experience than I thought! This is the newer Bayside location of Witch Toppoki. There are a few space in the parking lot right behind the building, but street parking is the better way to go. We were seated promptly for weekday lunch service. The server asked us if we have ever been & introduced us to the concept when we told him it was our first time. The AYCE price gives you three rounds of broth. All the toppings in the bar are included. Some things like the cheese fondue/ring and thin beef are extra. You create your broth by adding three scoops of powders from the bar. You add the powder to the hot broth in a pot on your table (the whole table shares one pot). Then add all the toppings and wait for it all to cook. We tried the combo that the server suggested for the first broth- Witch powder (sweet & mildly spicy), rose (tomato base) and carbonara (cream base). The tomato and cream flavors weren't really there, but I did feel it was a good mix of spicy and sweet. There were a lot of interesting toppings. They also have a fried food/small hot bar section so you can snack on it until all your food cooks up. You can also dip the fried foods in the toppoki sauce once it is thickened up. I loved the fish cakes and soup. In our second round, we used the Witch powder, the carbonara, and the curry. Again, everything except the Witch powder is pretty mild, just a hint of curry in the broth (which was fine). We got so full by the end, we didn't even get to round three/try any of the instant ramen from the wall. If you never had toppoki before, I would just be wise about choosing which toppings to put in. They do charge a lot for all of the remaining food/food waste you create, even if it was because the topping didn't taste good and you didn't know. It is very carb-heavy, and the fish balls can get pretty fishy. I think they are a little overpriced considering most of the toppings are cheap carbs, but you could make it worth your buck if you load up on fried wings & you enjoy the fish cakes! They didn't have a liquor license yet, unfortunately, but once they get that, I'm sure this place will be popping on nights and weekends.

Interesting concept. I know dukbokki restaurants are pretty big in Korea and it's cool to see something here now. I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think it's worth the price value. You're basically paying $26 for loaded instant ramen. You start by making your base; they recommend three scoops for flavor. You can stick to one flavor or play around with the base seasonings. You're also allowed to change your broth 2x per pot. Rose was my favorite out of the base. Carbonara probs not worth it and it was rather bland. Then you can load up your bowl with an assortment of rice cakes, noodles and fish balls. There were some interesting rice cakes I've never seen before like the sweet potato one (which was good until it wasn't anymore). They also have a hot food station consisting of pizza, tempuras, wings, fish cakes on skewers and fries. Don't expect too much from that, because most of it is just premade/frozen stuff, but still nice to have. The corn cheese fondue (around the pot) is a separate add on that you would need to order separately. Its nice touch, because I did wish that they offered cheese for the dukbokki. Service was great though, especially for such a busy restaurant. They were very attentive and helpful so points for that. Overall, i don't know if I would go back here. Not for the dinner price value at least. It's not bad, but for a lot less, you could buy the same items + more at H-Mart and do it yourself LOL

I came here because of all the hype I heard about it. The ambience was nice when I walked in. The waitresses were welcoming and showed me and my guest how to get the food we would want to cook and how to cook it. There was a wide selection of fish cakes, fish balls, rice cakes, etc. There was also a wide selection of prepared foods including chicken (which wasn't flavored the best), fries, and fried foods. There were also several spicy levels you could choose to make your broth. We were encouraged to choose three of the spicy powders and mix it into the broth. Overall, the ramen didn't seem that special. Upon eating, I came to realize that I was paying $50-60 for two people for ramen. I could cook it myself and not pay that much... This place did make me want to have my own hot pot and invite people over to eat ramen and other foods at a much lower price.

When I heard there was an AYCE ddukbokki place in Queens, I was beyond EXCITED to try this place out! I was a bit late to the opening, so I went when this spot got some recognition through TikTok - let me tell you, it was booming! I went on a Sunday evening at 7pm and it was literally overcrowded with people waiting for their names to be called. There's a kiosk where you can sign up to wait in line and I was #43 LOL. Fortunately, I was able to step out and do some grocery shopping before being called an hour and a half later with my table for 2 ready. There is a rice cake station, spice station, fried food station, and ramen station. It works similarly to AYCE hot pot where you self serve the foods/ ingredients you want. You can switch out your rice cake bowl 2x (which is more than enough to fill you) and there's a lot of variety and foods you can choose from. I definitely recommend coming here with a group as it'll be easy to share and enjoy concocting different spices to your broth! Overall, for ~$30 per person, it was worth the experience and food! Will come again :) BTW they are opening a new location in Bayside soon!

Been seeing this place on instagram reels and decided to check it out but left feeling pretty disappointed.. When we walked in, we were greeted by all the workers and were seated to our table right away. We went on a Friday night but there were still tables so we didn't have to wait in line (pretty spacious here!) Our waitress set up our table and gave us a tour of the stations, starting from the soup base powders, toppings, hot bar, all the day to the ramen station. There were a lot of choices for the soup base, but you only get one pot per table, which could be an issue if not everyone in the party can eat the same soup base (for example, my friend cannot handle spice so he had to wait until we were satisfied with the spicy soup base to get a new pot for the table and choose his soup base. He couldn't eat until we were done...) I wish they either had individual pots or big pots with dividers like some hot pot places. TIP: make sure to not put all the toppings all at once b/c they will soak up all the broth really fast = soggy toppings & pot that starts to burn!!) We appreciated the variety of rice cakes and toppings that you could put into the tteokbokki, and especially loved the hot bar food with fried vegetables. However, it is pretty pricey for an AYCE rice cake hot pot esp b/c you're actually able to find their special rice cakes like the Sweet Potato Tteok Bokki and Sweet Pumpkin Tteok Bokki at nearby korean supermarkets (since you are on Northern Blvd afterall). Towards the end, all the flavors also got repetitive and we actually realized we couldn't eat as much as we thought we could for an AYCE restaurant. Overall, I think it's good for a one time experience, but I found it difficult to say it's worth its price.

Witch is my go to restaurant whenever I crave tteokbokki and I go there often because I absolutely love it. The environment is very chill, the servers are attentive & caring and great selection of hot and fried foods. This place has everything I love--ramen & spicy rice cakes!

We went on a really rainy, crappy day today at 4:30. The staff is so friendly and cool. The place is bright and cheery. I was server explained what needed to be done, but we were still a little confused because we're new to all of it. I like mild my daughter loves spicy. They were very accommodating and let me have a separate pot. We got full pretty quick. We totally enjoyed the experience. The fried chicken was yummy. The soup we created was really yummy. I especially liked the shrimp In the broth I created. I loved trying the different types of topokki. next time I go, I'll definitely get the beef to add into the soup. I definitely want to come with more people. It's a really good time.

The experience of ayce tokpokki was something I could only get in Korea but it finally came to NY! Before you say how pricey the menu can be, realize it's new york, its ayce (groceries be getting expensive lately) and they're providing an experience that you can't get anywhere else + the ricecakes are not easy to find. I ate until i became a ricecake so just do that too and you'll be sure to eat your moneys worth. They have a variety of sauces you can mix and make, an assortment of rice cakes and veggies plus a hot food section that's made fresh. Sauces could get pretty spicy so watch out.. cause i was dying with just medium lol Only wish they served kimbap too, that's my ultimate korean st food combo with topokki.

Came here with friends after passing up another place. It was my first time here and I had no expectations going in. Between three people we spent $44 but we did buy a smoothie. The food itself was great too. Filled up on the buffet and walked away bloated. Everything was good but I might've enjoyed the other stuff like the skewers, fried chicken, and croquette more than the noodles. That being said, the noodles were delicious too! Plenty of options to choose how to make them. We made spicy noodles with plenty of meats and veggies. I can easily recommend this place and would love to come back.

This place is so much fun and honestly I dont think theres anyway you can ruin your food . We were seated quickly, our host explained the cooking process and all the ingredients and they continuously checked in on us . Theres only beers and saki (both I dont really drink, but the beers were good as per my friend) and the ramen was excellent ! We picked out some gyoza and fried mushrooms which also taste good . I would definitely come back here . The ambiance is very casual. Where what you want . I think this place is a great spot for "1st dates" who dont want to spend alot .

AYCE ddukbokki was not something I expected to see in Queens but its apparently a new trend that the kids all want to try. Located a fair trek from downtown Flushing, this place is definitely something you should try at least once if you like Korean rice cakes. The idea is simple enough - they give you a pot with some soup base while you get your own mix of spices to cook your rice cakes and any other items you want. Here they give you a large variety of rice cakes to choose from - plain, sweet potato, cheese and pumpkin as well as other items like ramen, hot dogs, cabbage and other items you might want to add. To top it off, they have an instant ramen bar where you can get your favorite ramen to finish the meal at the end if you're so inclined. There's also oden as well as fried foods to add to the buffet. I'm not the biggest fan of ddukbokki but it was pretty good. The sweet potato rice cakes were by far my favorite. My only gripe is that I don't think you even come close to getting value here. At $27 per person for dinner, that's a lot for food that's supposed to be cheap by design. There is no way you can come close to eating your money's worth here. The service here is friendly and staff here hustles to make sure patrons are taken care of. Seating is surprisingly tight, I'd move the tables a bit further apart. Definitely worth trying once for the novelty.

Delicious food! Definitely a different experience of haven't all you can eat RAMEN! It's like a mini hotpot, but smaller and cute :)! I really enjoy the multiple soup base and flavors! Stole my heart ASAP! The additional items were definitely good, Wish there were more choices of meats like pork belly or chicken. However still was great! Definitely the additional buffet of pizza, fried chicken, fries was a cute add-on. SOJU FOR $10 ! OH YEAH - and the servers were EXCELLENT, so sweet. Would definitely come back on a chilly day Thanks for the experience !

Was super stoked to try this place. It's AYCE topokki so pretty different from other AYCE. It's for 90mins and there is a charge for large amounts of wasted food like other Asian AYCE. The servers were all super nice and helpful. The place was clean, my party got seated in the outdoor area that was enclosed. It was pretty humid in this space but not unbearable. We went in the winter so it felt pretty good but my glasses fogged up when I entered this area :) They have around 8 soup bases to choose from. We did 2scoops of medium and 1 scoop of carbonara and it was perfect. This was my favorite combo, they let you change your base once and I tried the others but the first was the best in my opinion. They have the topokki station- cheese filled one was a hit. They also have veggies, balls, sausage, hot station and a ramen wall. Definitely OD-ed on carbs and it was all delicious.

Came here on a Friday night at 7pm. The wait was over 30 mins long. Walk inside and sign up on the waiting list, go to the bathroom, don't waste time. You have 90 minutes to ingest the food. We finally got our table and was taught how to mix the spices into the broth; which you can change your pot twice. We grabbed fried food while the broth and spices heat up. We added cheese around the pot for $7. Go ahead, wrap everything with cheese. The fried chickens were pretty good, a couple of flavors too, but it's very filling and huge pieces. Then we had the main meal, Tteokbokki; all the flavors! The tteokbokki tasted fine, but not awesome. This is a carb overload. Stay away from the beef ball, took a bite and had to spat out. We were full within 20 minutes. The servers were kind, but not very attentive, I kept calling on them to fill the small bottle up with broth even though I put it on the edge of the table and the very noticeable dried up pot of sauce. We did a Google review to get free Korean drinks. Overall, the food is fine, the price is good for $25 pp. Good to give it a try. Found street parking pretty easily tonight. Charge extra for fatty beef. 50% off for birthday person.

After driving by a few times we decided to give Witch Topokki a try this weekend for AYCE rice cake hot pot. This is the first time I've seen this type of AYCE, so it was intriguing. Majority of the food options were self-service (along with water and tea) so you can get as much of any item as you like. Our favorite rice cakes were the ones with filling (cheese, sweet potato, and pumpkin). I like how they have an option for boiled eggs and raw eggs for the broth. I enjoyed their fried foods selection because solely eating rice cake, ramen, and fish balls can get a little boring despite having a good array of flavor choices. The staff was very friendly. Even offered me an apron to wear so I wouldn't dirty my clothes. Please note: It is not disclosed on the menu but if you come during the weekend for lunch or dinner it is priced as dinner price ($27.95). If you come in a party of 2-4 there will only be one pot to share for the whole party, however, they allow up to two hot pot broth changes. Their bigger tables indoors seat 6 people and that allows for 2 pots for sharing. The soup base needs 3 large spoons of the powder to get a good flavor. Personally, we enjoyed the combination of (traditional, carbonara, and rose). Overall, I do recommend you come here at least once to try it out.

I can here with a few girlfriends for ayce topokki. There is a small parking lot in the back . I would recommend to get here before 1pm otherwise you will have to wait for a table. The servers were attentive and walked us through the serving area to explain the process. Basically there will be one communal pot on an induction burner. You make your own sauce (3 scoops to your liking) and there is a guide to help you come up with your own flavor. You pour the sauce in the communal pot (which has water). In the serving area there are plenty of different toppoki and vegetables. Pour that in the pot and stir for 10 minutes and it's ready to eat. While you have the first pot going, help yourself to the fried section. The chicken wings and the seaweed roll were my favorites. Also kid friendly items like pizza too. It's very carb heavy meal and while you can ayce, we were done by the second pot. (We only refilled twice). We left full and happy. Looking forward coming back in the future.

Came here twice, the second time I was here I noticed that shin ramen was no longer an option, they didn't give aprons, and there was no tea bags by the water dispenser. The first time I came, no one helped us refill the water in our pot, so although it was ayce we only ate one serving. The second time they offered a jug of hot water for the table. They have many different types of rice cakes to choose from. I really enjoyed the sweet potato one and loved that they had fish cakes on a stick. The appetizers available were pizza, fries, gimmari, chicken wings and mozzarella sticks. A lot of the toppings for the pot reminded me of what you would place into Chinese hotpot like a variety of fish balls. I don't think it was worth the price, but I think it is nice to come once to experience ayce tteokbokki.

The food is so good! This is my second time to visit here. Everything is so fresh. People in here also kind and nice. Highly recommend

The AYCE topokki concept is new and I couldn't want to try it. You can't reserve in advance so you should arrive to put your name and number down. I arrived at 1:30pm and waited for about an hour so it wasn't too bad. There's also a mini parking lot so that's always a plus. For a "buffet", the selection is quite small but it's a topokki buffet and they have over 10 selections from cheese to pumpkin to sweet potato, original and much more. You choose your own sauce and grab everything else at the bar yourself. There's a couple of pre-cooked food such as chicken wings, seaweed rolls and fish cakes. Overall the food was good, but it didn't wow me. Topokki also fills you up fast so although it's AYCE, you really can't eat much. There's also no dessert section but a small ice cream selection would be nice to end the meal.

New favorite indulgence!! Affordable AYCE topokki/tteokbokki. Imagine hot pot- but only with thick and rich gochujang sauce that you get to customize! We loved one spoon spicy, one spoon sweet, one spoon original. Once you've got your broth cooking you get to add anything from the robust buffet, which includes all sorts of veggies, ramen, tofu, fried food, and of course rice cakes! The absolute star of the show was the cheese rice cakes-- perfectly stringy cheese once cooked in your sauce! I will dream of that cheesy goodness for the foreseeable future. You're allowed to switch pots two times for free, so you can try the other creative sauce powders if interested (they have interesting ones like curry & carbonara). They could stand the clean the bathrooms a little more, but it's more of a fast-food environment, so I get it.

This place is all you can eat / make your own theokbboki! I think it's the only place in ny where you can make your own. Ive been wanting to go since there's so many in korea and is very popular. When we went around 3pm it was packed even it was after lunch time. When we got to the table, the server asked if we wanted to add meat for extra $5/pp and we chose that as an option. And then the server took us to the sauce powder area and explained what to do. You can choose variety of different powder to mix from from spicy to non-spicy options. And also variety of different rice cakes to choose from. There were vegetables, fried tofu, fish cakes, noodles. And also had lot of ramen options to choose from. There is also fried sections where you can have unlimited of fried chickens, sausages, croquet, etc. And fish cake soup section as well. Overall, i enjoyed making my own theokbboki with different sauce with options to choose ingredients. Loved having the unlimited fried food section as well. If you love theokbboki or willing to try i think it's a great place to try! Everyone here were so friendly and constantly asked us if we needed anything extra. It was so packed that we were seated in the outdoorish? Section but ac wasnt strong enough for a hot summer day. Other than tht everything was great!

I really hate leaving bad reviews, but this place really doesn't have much going for it aside for the decor and ambiance. Unfortunately the food was all processed stuff you can buy at any local Asian supermarket. Their broth flavorings were a bit unique, but really nothing special. Their "uniqueness"? An entire wall of packaged ramen noodles that you can choose from. Go to a restaurant for processed, packaged food? Service was fine. The young ladies came around often to "help" with the ramen noodles... No offense to the staff, but I learned how to cook ramen noodles 4 decades ago.
