"Hunanese cuisine may have once taken a backseat to the Bay Area's roster of Chinese spots, so it’s no wonder that this snug gem has attracted many a local and curious palate. Try to snag one of the beautifully carved booths in the back—then you'll be privy to the goings-on in the kitchen. Settle in and begin to peruse the menu of specialties.Boldly flavored dishes incorporate oodles of smoked, cured and fermented ingredients—from the bacon-like pork wok-tossed with leeks, garlic and soy, to the pungent pork, black bean and pickled chili mixture that tops a mound of spicy, hand-cut godfather’s noodles. That whole chili-braised fish, bright and flaky in its bath of red chili sauce flecked with scallions and garlic, is an absolute must." - Michelin Inspector

The Best Restaurant Meals of 2019, According to Bay Area Food Writers - Eater SF

"I find myself daydreaming about the Hunan food at Wonderful in Millbrae more often than I care to admit. The hand-rolled noodles, served cold with slivers of cucumber, green onion, and peanuts; the smoked Hunan pork; the lamb stir fried with cilantro, tender stems and all; the signature godfather’s sauce, the stuff of spicy, umami fantasies. The service is always friendly and the portions generous." - Luke Tsai

Back in May 2025, it was our first time trying out this restaurant. Since it is our first time, we asked the waitress for any recommendations. With her charming and sweet smile, she spent a whole 5 min introducing their menu to us. We tried out a few dishes she recommended and added a few of our own liking. I have to say, I liked her recommendation more than ours. To list a few that my wife and I love: - The Green Onion Pancake (蔥發大餅) is really, really good. It is a must-order dish. - Their Orange Chicken (橘皮雞) is unlike others we tried before. They use the actual orange skin as key ingredient to cook the chicken. it is so yummy. - The Stir-fried Cabbage (熗炒包心菜) is stir-fried just right, crispy, and not too oily. The dish looks simple, but yet it is hard to make the dish taste really good, and they did it. I have not tasted such good cabbage dish in any other Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. The restaurant settings and atmosphere are also nicely decorated and very clean. Even the restroom is clean and free of oily smoke. When we came out of the restaurant, our cloth didn't smell like we had been in a Chinese restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is close to SFO airport, so it will be a good restaurant choice before your trip starts or coming back from a long trip. And we will come back for more.

Google
Broadway avenue in Millbrae CA., has many fantastic Asian restaurants to enjoy. A few friends introduced me to Wonderful nearly 10 years ago and I never forgot it. Their menu is interesting and everything tastes good. Though my personal delight is their Beef noodle soup, I like to substitute the beef with shrimp. Now the last time I had it that way, was long ago. Perhaps they don't make it with shrimp anymore, you'll have to ask if want to try that dish. A couple of more things. They do have clean restrooms, and their lunch menu is sorta incognito. You may have to request it. Wonderful is just off LA Cruz, on Broadway avenue in Millbrae CA.

I used to live nearby but moved away years ago…and Wonderful is one of the places I missed most. I was lucky to get to stop in while visiting, and the food is just as tasty (and spicy) as I remember!

Google
An authentic Chinese food restaurant specialized in the spicy ones from Hunan. They have two desks for dining outside, which might be available for bringing the dog. They have special Smoked Pork as they are in special taste. We try the ones with the cauliflower in the fancy pot as it's really tasty. The cilantro beef is great and in a large dish. The green onion pancake is the kind of Chinese flour taco with chopped pork. A good experience here in the Michelin restaurant. One thing to mention is that the staff are too busy to take care of our demands...We spent a lot of time waiting for services.

Google
A nice clean homey Chinese restaurant serving human dishes. I will say they have the best smork I ever tasted. My goal is to return and try all their dishes that have smork in it cuz it's got nice smoky flavor. We also had cilantro with shredded beef. The beef is thinly cut/sliced instead of bigger chunks. A great sign for a Chinese place. The steam egg is just like what my wife and I had back in Taiwan. Childhood memories! Another reason i would happily drive from South bay to eat here again is their dish is NOT oily like other Hunan places in South bay...or Chinese restaurants in general. It's family style restaurant and it's not exactly cheap. The quality of the dishes well justifies the price. Worth it!

Google
I love their decent taste. We didn’t have enough time to dine in so we will try to dine in next time. Unfortunately, they don’t have spoons for take out 😂

Google
This place is indeed wonderful. The food here tastes amazing. I myself likes Sichuan level of spiciness so the "spicy" food here is not that spicy to me. So come with the right expectation. Still other than the spiciness, the food itself is in high quality. The highlights for me are "smork", the smoke pork here is indeed smoky. It might be the smokiest thing I ever ate rather than the smoke itself lol. It tastes well with the tofu in the dish we ordered. The deep fried intestine is tasty with a kick. All the flour dishes like the pancake and noodles are good chewy as expected from a good Hunan place. This place indeed deserves the wait and the Michelin Bib Gourmant.

Google
Wonderful is a guilty pleasure. I regularly volunteer to drop/ pick friends and fam from SFO so as to dine here. Yesterday was yet another occurrence. Photos and videos are of three separate occasions. Typically I get lamb cilantro or chicken cilantro (subbed), this is my favorite dish. I also, really enjoy their chowmein although my friends find it on the blander side. The one time I tried the Iron pot, it blew me away! I do need company though to order this and best had hot from the pot. My veggie friends like to order dan dan noodles, eggplant with garlic, stir fried string beans and bokchoy with garlic. I really enjoy the first two and share when ordered. They are addicting! The green onion pancakes are great if you order soup and also are part of a large group.

Yelp
We've been going to this place for as long as I can remember. My favorite food on the menu is chicken corn soup. Also, I loved fried chicken chili with white rice. Service is speedy and very friendly. Our server smiles all the time and is a very friendly person. She greets you at the door and welcomes you thoroughly. This is a Michelin-starred restaurant, and people loved coming back again and again. You must try their.

Yelp
Delicious piping hot food, friendly quick service in a cozy, but busy little restaurant just down the street from us. Our go to's are Cilantro Beef Garlic Broccoli Orange Chicken !!!

Yelp
Establishment has been in Millbrae for a while now. Solid spot for Chinese food. They give good portions. Their noodle would are all solid and you can even chose different types of noodles. Their hand cut ones are my go to. Had the zha Jiang mien, which I think is what Chinese Koreans have as jia Jang myun. There are some difference but both are delicious. Here they have the sauce on the side so you can control how much to mix into the noodles. The sauce is a stir fry of some beam sauce and mince meat.

Yelp
The food here is delicious and fresh. They cooked the dishes up very quickly after ordering. They gave complimentary hot and sour soup! Mmm We got stir fried green beans with eggplant, noodles with ground beef, fried pork intestines and stir fried tofu with smork. All were quite well made, smokey and delicious. Only gripe is I wish they gave more food! Ambiance is quite cute. They have beautiful furniture and nice private areas to sit

Yelp
this michelin-guided restaurant is so quaint and unassuming -- but once you sit down for a taste, you'll know it's not your average chinese restaurant. their specialty "smork," or smoked pork, is unlike any pork dish i've had before and totally worth a try. it had a unique flavorful chewiness that, when tossed with the softer deep-fried tofu, made for a complete, harmonious dish. i was even impressed with the tofu -- for something deep-fried, it felt light and not too oily. it was the green onion pancake, however, that stole the show for me. the taste reminded me of a scallion man tou (chinese steamed bun), and i've been thinking about it and craving it ever since. not only did they put a creative spin on the prep and presentation of a pancake, but they made it more hearty while cutting out the extra oil. it's honestly genius -- and freaking delicious. i was so glad it was so generously portioned as well. what a wonderful experience indeed!

Yelp
I was shocked by how efficient they are. One waitress, 15 minutes food to table, and no wait during lunch time. I recommend for a nice but casual family styled meal.

Yelp
Yes it's good Chinese. We got Smork with smoked tofu, Winter melon soup, Green onion pancake and Deep fried pork intestines. I liked how smokey the smork was. Pretty solid place in peninsula. Inside was clean and service was fast. If you dine in the tip was included. Parking on street in front.

Yelp
Friends got me on to this place, and I'm hooked. I always want this place when I visiting the area. I also got the fish togo one time, and it was still massive! My fav dish is the cilantro beef, also Wonderful's got me into loving lotus root.

Yelp
Solid spot, came here for dinner to catch up with friends. Good, quick service. Got the chili chicken, string beans, green onion pancake and dan dan noodles to share. Wasn't that impressed by green onion pancake - felt too thick and dry. I don't eat much pork so maybe the sauce it comes with would've saved it.. Dan Dan noodles also weren't as flavorful as I had hoped, was just ok in my view. Lot of options on the menu though so would be open to coming back to try other things! Did seem pretty authentic.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful is certainly wonderful! We get some pretty solid Chinese food here. I really recommend the Zhajiangmian (noodles in black bean sauce) and the Green onion pancakes. Though even though the menu labels them as pancakes, they're actually not pancakes. They're really thick breads stuffed with green onions. A good spot in Millbrae, close to San Bruno!

Yelp
All the food we ordered tasted sooo goood! Will definitely come back and this time i'll bring my family with me. They have to try this place. Nice ambiance and place is clean too. The server was so nice and they serve fast. My new favorite!

Yelp
So my wife wouldn't shut up about wanting good authentic Chinese food. This was definitely a different type of Chinese food that I am used to. The lady who appeared to be running the show was extremely nice and helpful. My wife ordered the smork fried rice, orange chicken, cilantro beef, scallion pancake. Plus complimentary tea. The food came out pretty quick. Time to eat. I was very impressed with the orange chicken and the cilantro beef. Those were the best plates. I didn't eat the pancakes due to the onions and the smork fried rice wasn't impressive. My kids did love the fried rice and the pancakes. So apparently those were also winning plates. Everyone there was super nice and very attentive to our needs. I felt very welcomed. Side note, they do charge an 18% charge however they do NOT accept tips. Weird I know. That is basically a tip unless the owners are not sharing with the multiple wait and cooking staff.

Yelp
We came as a group of 6 for dinner this past Sunday at wonderful. A huge factor to why we had such a wonderful (ha) dinner was because of the great service. Our waitress gave great recommendations, was always checking to make sure our glasses were full, and even offered small complimentary dishes pre-dinner that would go well with the alcohol we were drinking. For food, I'm glad we had a large group because we could try so many dishes. We got the green onion pancake, which is different from the Taiwanese style of green onion pancake. It had so many layers of dough and green onions and was a perfect complement to our spicy dishes. The spicy fish filets was huge, with so much more fish than other restaurants we've tried. I loved the smokiness of the smork with dried tofu, and was so happy to see a gizzard with pickled green beans dish. I ate way more rice than I would've liked, but it's hard not to when eating Hunan food. Definitely recommend coming to wonderful when you have a big group and are craving something spicy. Parking isn't bad on the streets or in the lots in Millbrae. We'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Wonderful is a Michelin guide restaurant serving casual Chinese/Hunan cuisine. They have a wide selection of dishes and spicy food at a higher than average price (this is a non-tipping institution). Service was proactive and quick. The green onion buns and hand pulled noodles were the stand out dishes. Overall, Wonderful doesn't compromise on taste and flavor. Would come back.

Yelp
Wonderful is a delightful spot that lives up to its name. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring a range of flavorful dishes, each beautifully presented. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great place for both casual meals and special occasions. The flavors were vibrant and well-balanced, showcasing a blend of traditional and innovative elements. Really enjoyed the hunan steamed egg, as well as the sole, tofu, chili under the steamed specials; generous amount of fish and not overly spicy. Whether you're a fan of classic dishes or looking to try something new, Wonderful provides a great variety of options. It's definitely a place to check out if you're in the Millbrae area and looking for a memorable meal.

Yelp
Some friends live in the area and recommended this place for lunch and we went as a group of about 8 people. This place seems like it's better for groups of 2-4 but luckily they had a space in the front for us where we combined several tables together. Everything was very tasty here. It seemed like everyone orders the scallion pancake but it seems much more like a scallion bread like the ones you get at chinese bakeries but slightly differently because of the way they cut it and serve it. It's a very good filler so if you have a lot of people and very hungry people then that's a good choice. There was one beef dish we ordered that seemed like the onion ratio was really high compared to the rest of the dish but luckily I'm a fan of stir fried white onions. The dishes I enjoyed the most were the green beans and tofu dishes we ordered. A bit on the smaller side place but has a lot of parking and a good spot with a local feel to it too!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has amazing Hunan style meals!! My friends and I are so happy we stumbled in here. First let me say their boiled fish in chili oil IS HUGE. They do not skimp out on the amount of fish. When it arrived we thought the kitchen got our order wrong and sent out two! I'm just going to name out the standouts and must haves: boiled fish on chili oil, green onion pancake, cilantro beef, sliced minced pork and the gizzard pickles beans. The service was also great, our waitress recommended some of the dishes above and they did not disappoint. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
18% automatic tip for dine in. 7% surcharge for take out That being said the server was great. Very attentive. The food was somewhat average to slightly above average. I felt like it could have more spices be a bit saltier or more flavorful. The cilantro beef was their special and pretty good. The beef is thinly sliced though unlike Mongolian beef. Hot and sour soup was average to me. It could have been a bit more flavorful. Baby bok Choy in garlic sauce was above average Eggplant in garlic sauce was below average. Most of the item was missing that umami factor for me. But overall not bad. I wasnt a fan of being automatically charged a tip. parking is on the streets. Small narrow interior. Food tasted clean. Inside was clean.

Yelp
Having tried Chez Xue located in Foster City, it had come to my attention that the owners actually started their parent restaurant, wonderful, located in Millbrae a few years before. With a larger variety of items, I wanted to stop by and check out what they had to offer. I arrived at the restaurant around 1PM on a Friday afternoon to find a empty dining room. This seemed to be irregular judging from the amount of reviews here on Yelp, so perhaps weekday lunch is the best time to come without having to wait. For this meal, I noticed that the Boiling Hot Fish Fillets was one of the more popular items, so I decided to order one order which cost about 35 dollars at the time of this review. Looking at the dish, the portion size was HUGE. For one, the dish was served in a large silver bowl and easily had about 30 thick pieces of fish or more inside. Along with this, the bowl had pieces of chopped onions and chili peppers, cabbage, tofu, chunks of bean sprouts, and a large amount of broth. Definitely do not order this by yourself unless you plan to split it up into multiple meals to-go. And to this point, bring some people with you to finish this bowl. It's a lot. For $36 in the Millbrae area, it might seem to be expensive at first. But even after splitting this dish among 3 people, it lasted for two more meals afterwards. This said, price to portion is a steal. Of anything I can say about the taste, I wish it was more spicy! The broth was rich with spices and tasted pretty spicy, but I expected a tad more! Nonetheless, the broth made the fish taste spicy and made the meat very moist. Texture-wise, the fish was very soft and easily melted in the mouth. The fish itself did not appear to taste seasoned or marinated. But because it was drenched in broth, it did not matter. As for the tofu and cabbage, I found both to taste similar to the fish. But because they were all included inside the broth, it made sense for them to taste spicy as well. After trying wonderful's Boiling Hot Fish Fillets, I knew that I would be back for more. There is something about their food that screams "home-made"! Perhaps it could be because of the simplicity of the dish, or maybe it was the warm service. But nonetheless, there is a reason why wonderful has so many great reviews here on Yelp. Of anything I can say though, be aware that wonderful requires a mandatory service charge of 7% when taking out or 18% when dining in. But in all, wonderful definitely earns its title with a very high 5 star rating. Very wonderful, wonderful.
google avatar

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
There is something extremely satisfying about this food. I can't really put my finger on it. I haven't actually dined in the restaurant itself, but got this for take out several times. The most recent time, the dishes that were stand out were the Numbing Boiling Fish Fillets, General Tso Chicken, eggplant and green beans, and smork fried rice. I loved all their dishes in different ways. Again, there's some X factor in the food that is just amazingly satisfying. I feel a little sad the restaurant is so far from the city, but it's a great option for when we go down to the Peninsua for a dinner party or whatnot!
google avatar

Shin C.

Yelp
Food is good as always but parking is a pain for takeout. That's not the reason for 3 stars. I don't know what service they think they are providing but they charge a 7% service fee for takeouts. That's code for tips. If I'm not eating in store and am doing takeout, I should not have to pay a mandatory tip! They don't provide eating utensils or napkins either.
google avatar

Emily D.

Yelp
Only 3 for dinner and we were lucky seated without a wait but it was crowded. This is my second time eating at Wonderful because my grandson likes Hunan dishes. Still think this restaurant is pricey especially when they automatically charge 18% tip no matter how many people? We ordered Eggplant & String Beans, Ma Po Tofu and Spicy Lamb & Cilantro. 3 dishes, plus 18% service was $82. Overall the dishes and service were good. Restaurant was crowded and tables were very close together.

Yelp
Award winning restaurant, distinct from other Hunan and Szechuan restaurants. Cilantro beef: very thinly sliced beef, almost like a tenderloin in texture but different. Tastes like a baking soda or mango enzyme tenderized beef but very tender but not mushy. V. hard to replicate. The tenderized beef absorbs more flavor. One of the best sellers. Very distinct. Onion bread: fluffy. Different with layers. Not replicated in any other bay area restaurant I have seen. Almost every table orders this. Northern style = bread, south=rice. Bok choy w/ shitake. not on menu. Order some veggie to cut the spice levels. Winter melon soup with pork rib: WM cooked perfectly. Not mushy. Good light broth flavor from the ribs. Used to cut the spice. Godfather noodles: spicy and salty. Very distinct. Not overpowered with fermented bean sauce; meaty. hard to pin down the taste. Impossible to replicate at home. Many layers of flavor. One of the signature dishes. Freshly made noodles. Chewy. Back of the throat spicy vs. burning tongue spicy. Large menu try the steamed fish special. This is very distinct from the other Hunan restaurants who have a common menu of deep fried chili chicken, chili fish, etc..

Yelp
Stopped in with my cousin one rainy afternoon after he picked me up from the airport. It was quiet inside and there was plenty of seating available. We sat by the window in the front. We ordered the Smork with Leeks and the Boiling Hot Fish Fillets. We were served some hot tea as well--a must-have for the weather. The smork was as advertised--smoky and flavorful. A perfect contrast to the leeks! The fish was tender and spicy. I was so glad that these were our picks that day! But I have a feeling you can't go wrong with their options.
google avatar

Valerie M.

Yelp
Came back to have brunch again. Service is always attentive and very warm people. We ordered 3 things. Eggplant with garlic sauce is a go- to. Smoke with leeks is new to me. But super flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend. If you like tofu you will like the iron skillet tofu with onions. Came up sizzling hot! We have to come back for sure.

Yelp
Pouring rain when we arrived so no wait despite it being 11am on Sunday. Within 30 minutes the restaurant was full. The place is really nice, clean, efficient. Service was brisk. Not complaining but just know that you aren't likely to get questions answered if you need explanations of the menu or its items. Easiest to just do your own research on Yelp and take a look at other peoples' pictures before you come in. Three of us ordered two dishes plus the steamed green onion pancakes and it was a lot of food for a lunch. Being unfamiliar with the food, we were confused by the small dish of ground pork set on our table before our food arrived -- which was exactly the same meat as the sauce for our noodles. We couldn't decide if it was related to the noodles which we ordered or something provided/gifted to the table? We ended up dumping it on the noodles (since it was the same) and then the server came refilled the small bowl with even more meat. We were all so confused but it was delicious so no complaints!
google avatar

Ying C.

Yelp
Has automatic 18% tip. Too expensive. Food looks good and taste so so. Food comes very quick. Nice environment. Wok fried dish is better. Would not recommend noodles.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
My friend is very picky with Chinese food and he said this is one of the few he approves of. I was definitely impressed, it's high quality authentic food! The garlic eggplant was 10/10 amazing. We also got the boiling fish which they're well known for, and it was really good. The Lamb Cilantro was also great. Everything seemed a bit pricey, 4 dishes was over $100 (the boiling fish was $42) but they included tax and gratuity and the fish was a massive portion. It was enough for 4-5 people so at least portion sizes were good!
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
Delicious. Service was excellent. Food was hot and fresh. I left with a food coma. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This is a phenomenal Hunan-style Chinese restaurant. The place isn't that big in size and there's limited seating so prepare to possibly wait a bit. I couldn't wait to try their hot boil fish filets; the fish is super tender and melts in your mouth. The fish is soaked in this garlic chili oil along with tofu, cabbage, and bean sprouts. The broth is pretty spicy; my tongue at times went numb but it was still delicious. We also loved the eggplant with garlic sauce. The eggplant is soft and cooked perfectly. It paired great with the fish dish. I also recommend ordering the godfather noodles. The hand-pulled noodles are soft and has that authentic texture where it's slightly chewy. The minced meat with green bell peppers and spices was perfect for this dish. I'd definitely want to come back again. I want to try more of their food! This place is awesome. Yelp
One of my go-to Sichuan spots and favorite place on Broadway Millbrae. I was very surprised that all the prices bumped up significantly since the last time I visited, but I still believe that the taste and quantity justify the shift. The fish and tofu specialty dish is still the main reason I go - I suggest ordering it the moment you sit because it takes the longest to prep. The godfather noodles are also a staple, and the hand pulled noodles are necessary. Those two dishes alone are enough to satisfy a family of 3-4. Very spacious with nice thematic booths to fill the back of the long restaurant. There is also a wuInt outdoor dining area, but I rarely see them using it. It does feel a little short staff, with only two servers leading to long waits to order. But otherwise, still a positive experience and will remain one of my Bay area faves.
google avatar

Rose Y.

Yelp
I was craving spicy food that day so we went to wonderful. We ordered the boiling fish. The portion is huge so we didn't order anything else. However, the food is not authentic. The moment she served the fish, i found out that there was no garlic on top, then i know it's not gonna be authentic. And the fish on top has no flavor at all. I think they just boil the fish with water and put them on top. Im very disappointed in this dish :/ does not recommend ordering it.

Yelp
I wouldn't call this place "Wonderful" just yet, but more like "okay." My date and I were the first to arrive at 5pm and shared the mapo tofu and Mao's pork belly. The mapo tofu was good and had a little (not much) of the "ma" or numbing spice. Again, the Mao's pork belly was just okay. There were some chewy parts and some very tender parts as well. Overall it's a cute place. Someday I'll try to make it back and give this place another try.
google avatar

Jack T.

Yelp
Great quality - probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. Enjoyed authentic Hunan cuisine.
google avatar

Joey C.

Yelp
Good food, clean and friendly service. This is my 2nd time here and it did not disappoint. Flavors were prominent and portions are generous. Especially if you order the fish dishes. Most everything here is deliciously made and fresh, but the numbing spicy lamb is a must try! I'm not one to fawn over vegetables, but their eggplant dish was delicious though tad on a sweeter side. Definitely a stable in the Milbrae area.
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
PSA: 7% SERVICE CHARGE FOR TAKE OUT AND 18% FOR DINE IN. I was surprised to see automatic 7% service charge for my phone order. The service and food is generally good, but every dish is a tad bit too salty for me. They have first mover advantage for being one of the first successful mainland chinese restaurants in the area but much competition has sprung up since and others certainly don't charge all these service fees.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
This place is just OK. There was nothing wrong with it but there are also better Chinese places in the surrounding area! I did order some things that are not necessarily their specialty or popular items so maybe that was my bad too. From their site it seems that the smoked pork is their specialty and I did also see a lot of people ordering the green onion pancake (which looked more like a fluffy bao and less like the flaky pan fried type) NOTES Orange chicken was more "orangey" than I was expecting. I would ask for sauce on the side I did order beef noodle soup which is not really their specialty. (Got it for the kids) Just OK. Eggplant was solid. Got 'ants climbing on a tree' or something noodle dish which was like a potato noodle with ground beef bits (hence the ANTS on the tree). Pretty much like japchae noodles with ground beef but definitely nowhere as good as japchae lol a bit disappointing but I was mostly curious what it was.
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
Some of the most authentic hunan flavours I've had in California. Highly recommend the green onion pancake (super fluffy and not the oily fried kind) Smoked pork & Pickled "beans" (it's actually Chinese long bean like a green bean - taste of home!) Grandfathers noodle with their house sauce Can't wait to come back to try more dishes

Yelp
This location is perfect, as it's right amongst the other, small businesses on Broadway Street in Millbrae. The service is extremely polite and receptive to offering suggestions. I asked for some suggestions on their specialties, and my waitress was happy to give me a detailed explanation on the different options and what she believed to be their best menu items. The food met the expectations set and the prices were reasonable. I had a fantastic dinner here.

Yelp
Tried three dishes: Mapo tofu (3/5): relatively plain with little spice or numbing peopers Smork and cauliflower (3/5): wasn't the biggest fan of Smork - kind of dry, as you might expect from days of smoking Beef and onion skillet (5/5): juicy and oily and delicious. celery gave a nice crunch. Would definitely order again!

Yelp
YUM! The Dan Dan noodles have peppercorn and make your mouth slightly numb in the best way. The eggplant was my favorite dish. Couldn't get enough of it. The green onion pancake surprised us-- we weren't really a fan of it. I think a menu with more pictures could have prevented this. The kung Pao chicken tasted more like orange chicken. The sauces were very flavorful. Service was very kind, wait was perhaps ~15-20 minutes for 3 of us. Very close to the airport, and lovely setting.

Yelp
Great food, the Chinese pancake was terrific. The service was so pleasant and the owner was really helpful. If you're in the Bay Area, stop in!

Yelp
Came here based on a friends recommendation (and knowing it's on the Michelin guide!) and WOW. The food blew us away. We did family style with a mix of pescatarian dishes and not one disappointed. There were plenty open tables when we went on a Sunday around 6 pm, but not sure how crowded it gets on Friday and Saturday nights. Ambience is not overly fancy, very laid back and nice with some more private tables in the back. Service was excellent and our first dish was out within 5 minutes of ordering! Dishes that we got: Dan Dan noodles (vegetarian)- 5/5, so flavorful with excellent numbing spice Bok Choy and Mushrooms- 5/5- also incredible, a nice touch of veggies to complement otherwise relatively vegetable-less dishes. Super flavorful. Hot boiled fish- 6/5- SO good I cannot stop thinking about this dish- fish was so tender and delicious, and sauce was so good you wanted to drink it. Mapo tofu- 5/5- so bomb with the Sichuan spice but I've had equivalently good versions of this dish at other places in the bay so would not necessarily drive here just for this. But I repeat, was bomb. There's also a free parking lot right next door (with EV chargers!) as well as street parking for those driving out from the city. Wish this place was closer but honestly 1000% worth the trek from SF. Already planning my next trip there.

Yelp
I was there for lunch and had a nice meal. They weren't too busy and we sat at one of the booths in the back near the kitchen. The menu is quite extensive and full of unusual choices. My favorite was the Smork with Smoked Tofu. The portions were large enough to have plenty to take home. They don't accept cash - only credit cards.

Yelp
What can I say, Wonderful is quite wonderful. Nice clean restaurant with amazing Chinese food. Had the Godfather Noodles, Cilantro Beef, and Green Onion Pancakes, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious. The staff is nice and friendly, and overall, we had a great time!

Yelp
Sucks to write this, but I loved Wonderful. Some friends ordered food from here, and we were a bit stunned from the 7% surcharge now for takeout? Bad business practice and tired of these scams. The food was decent, but this place is pricey. The owner of this place has been very controversial, I refuse to support a small business that isn't ethical.

Yelp
I don't think they're indulging in hyperbole when they tout their authentic Hunan dishes. We tried the smoked pork with bamboo, which also included garlic, celery (somewhat of a novelty to me in Chinese dishes) and the ubitquitous red chile peppers. Here, the peppers were chopped, not served whole, so clearly meant to be consumed. The smoky flavor punched through, the bamboo is a tender revelation. One of our party proclaimed it the best General's chicken ever, and I have to say it was head and shoulders above the usual. No gloppy sauce here, again nicely seasoned with peppers, surprisingly enjoyable for what is usually a bastardized Chinese-American take. The onion pancakes surprised and delighted us. They seem to be rolled out very thin and then folder over multiple times, creating a dense stack that truly bears some resemblance to a stack a' flapjacks. Soft, pillowy, and the round meat sauce on the side was the chef's kiss. I don't know why locals complain about parking? There's a public lot right next store, and ample street parking.

Yelp
I love their green onion pancake which is super fluffy, soft, and delicious with their godfather sauce which is this sort of minced meat/flavorful sauce. They have a bunch of spciy dishes and stir fries, as well as stews etc. and generally their dishes are quite authentic. If you sit inside, it's quite cozy and casual with a few larger tables. I've also gotten their food for takeout which was still good, just a bit messier depending on what you order. Overall I prefer dining in just because some of their dishes are served on hot plates etc. to keep them warm while you're eating.

Yelp
I'm sure you've read enough reviews saying this place is "wonderful". I'd say this place is awesome and authentic and I'd definitely come back. We got some deep fried pork intestines, smork with bamboo, and godfather noodles. The intestines had just the right amount of seasoning and there wasn't a big fried taste. The smork was delicious and made me reminiscent of other smoked pork I've had in the past. Godfather noodles were filling and not too oily. Portions were reasonable and my group of 3 were full, but not stuffed which is where you wanna be. I'll be back to try out more dishes with a bigger group of people next time.
