The unassuming neighborhood outpost provides abundant patio space, indoor seating, and flat screens for watching games. Both pet- and kid-friendly, snag a table during breakfast or lunch (every day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and go for the highly sought-after breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, crisp hash browns, fatty bacon, and avocado. Stroll Inside North Park’s New Neighborhood Hangout - Eater San Diego

"Working Class is a new casual bar and eatery that is friendly to both kids and dogs. It replaces Ritual Tavern and has been sold to Paul Fatta by Location Matters. The eatery’s operating partner is Jeffrey Kiyama, a longtime manager at Barleymash. The owners have renovated the North Park building, adding fresh windows, skylights, expanded patios, and increased bar space with 30 taps of craft beer, wine, kombucha, and coffee. The menu features diner-style food with salads, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees, all at accessible prices. Working Class is open from 9 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays." - Candice Woo

Beer bar. All kinds of beer coupled with finger food and main dishes. Service was good and timely. Food can be better. Greek salad with humus? Hmm experimenting. Not a good combo. Wings below average but sprouts amazing and great fries.

Google
Service was great, very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious right on price point. We could not ask for anything better. My friend ordered the basic breakfast and I ordered the breakfast sandwich. I was very impressed with hash grounds and the size of the sausages. The house browns were perfectly crunchy on the outside and pillow fluffy on the inside. The breakfast sandwich was very, very good and a definite must try. I asked to have my hash browns on the side instead of inside the breakfast sandwich. They were happy to oblige. Perfect. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the vibe was chill. I'm sure that anybody who enjoys eating out will enjoy this place. Be sure and go all the way to the back to the patio seating. It's nice back there as well.

Went for celebration brunch. Great atmosphere on a beautiful day. We sat on the patio. Haley was our hostess/waitress. She was attentive prompt kind and efficient!! The food and drinks flowed . Everyone enjoyed there meal! We will be back!!

Hi Hunter

Google
Enjoyed our time here! Great drink selection. Menu is a QR code. Monday is wings night! Our server, Angelica, was knowledgeable about the dishes, drinks & specials. They were attentive and kept our drinks full. Everyone on the patio looked to be having a great time thanks to the good food & service. We sat on the patio, it was hot out, but the shade was nice & they had fans on. Plenty of tvs for sports but not overbearing. Noticed high chairs for table & bar height stacked up in case you need it. The patios are dog friendly as well. Bathrooms were clean & well stocked. Thanks for a great time! We look forward to visiting again!

Surprise surprise The cauliflower was the best. The Brussels spouts were just as delicious.

Google
I came here for the NY Mets watch party. There’s an outdoor seating area with multiple TVs. It’s a good place to hand out and it’s kids friendly. The food that we ordered was good. We all had a good time especially when Mets won 😝 The service was ok as we were not offered water the whole time.

Google
The breakfast burrito was filling and had plenty of bacon, crispy hash browns, and fluffy eggs. The salsa Verde served on the side paired great. I also got biscuits and gravy on the side. The biscuit was soft and the gravy had a nice little kick to it. With good, friendly servers and a reasonable price point, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Google
Stopped by Working Class for a quick dinner and enjoyed the experience. It was chilly outside so we chose to sit inside and followed the sign that said to seat yourself. We were quickly approached by our wait person who greeted us and dropped off a couple of waters to sip on while we looked at the online menus. Working Class has an extensive beer menu and a good size food menu with a variety of foods to choose from. Tonight I ordered the spicy meatball sandwich and my partner ordered the Working Class Burger. For an additional six dollars you can add a side and a half pint. We both chose to go that route. The food came out hot and tasty - both of us said we would order the same again if given the opportunity. The service was great - prompt and friendly without being overbearing. The vibe is casual with some music playing in the background inside while sports were on all the tv’s. Outside on the patio the sound to the sports was on for those that wanted to concentrate on the game.

Yelp
Great, solid spot with laid-back vibes and my favorite happy hour of all! I've been to this place with my husband, with friends, and even with co-workers and everyone I've brought with me leaves happy. It's a great spot for groups. To start off - staff is friendly, attentive, quick to assist. Food is superb, sometimes if I am with a group we would order just appetizers ($2 off during Happy Hour) and the variety is hard to top. The general tso cauliflower is fantastic, a must! As far as entrees, I have tried their fried chicken sandwich, the standard burger, the El Norte Salad, and the spinach and strawberry salad with salmon. All of them solid, flavorful choices. Portions are large and satisfying. Also, dog-friendly space is available (a front and a back-patio). It's so nice to see a lot of people bringing their dogs and the menu also offers dog-friendly options.

Yelp
Working Class in North Park is a solid, casual spot with good food, friendly service, and a laid-back vibe. This time, I tried the Greek Salad with Chicken but had it made into a wrap--and it did not disappoint! The flavors were super fresh, and turning it into a wrap made it perfect for a quick, satisfying meal. I also went with the Guava Cider, which was one of the best ciders I've had. I've been here a few times, and one of my favorite things about Working Class is their trivia nights. The trivia is super fun, but heads up--it does get pretty crowded, so make sure to arrive early if you want a good spot. The lively crowd and friendly energy make it worth it, though! Overall, Working Class is a great place to hang out, grab a drink, and enjoy some good food. It's comfortable, the service is friendly, and the vibes are always welcoming. Perfect for a casual night out in North Park.

Yelp
First time here. Went with friends. This is place that is mostly outside but they do have inside as well. We sat on the back patio and other than hard benches at a picnic table (which were pretty darn hard) the atmos was great. The service was phenomenal. The food... stellar. We had the General Tso Cauliflower and fried pickles as apps and yep. These are golden. For dinner it was a mix of things. Fish and chips (8 out of 10). Chicken tenders (8 out of 10), grilled chicken sandwich (9 out of 10) and then my meal. I love to be surprised with food. Many times, Like tonight, I simple ask the server to bring me their favorite meal with whatever way they like it. In over 40 years of doing this I have only had one thing I didn't care for. It's amazing. It's fun. This time I had the Cajon chicken sandwich -sub fried chicken breast, sub cheddar cheese with onion rings. (10+out of 10). It was everything you would hope to have. Juicy, tender, flavor packed) and the onion rings - has to be top three I've ever had. Everything is ala carte so just know that. What more can be said. We all had an amazing meal and we will be back.

Yelp
Working Class is one of my favorite spots to hang out, thanks to its excellent vibe, great beer selection, and even better food. Their Working Class Burger is a standout--imagine an elevated version of an In-N-Out animal-style burger, with better flavors and execution. It's always cooked perfectly and hits the spot every time. Their take on animal-style fries is equally impressive. The fries are crispy, well-seasoned, and loaded with flavor, making them the perfect pairing with a cold beer. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. The patio is a great place to relax, catch a football or baseball game, or just hang out. I used to come here often with friends to play Magic: The Gathering, and the casual, welcoming vibe made it an ideal spot. The service is also solid--attentive without being overbearing. Whether you're there for the food, drinks, or just to hang out, Working Class delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend for a chill hangout or a game-day gathering.

Yelp
Stopped in for the first time at Working Class, a bar/restaurant in North Park We sat out side on the patio which seemed to be a popular place with customers. Greeted by a friendly helpful waitress who made some Happy Hour recommendations for us. We ended up with a burger, wings and onion rings. All the food was excellent! Even the iced tea was very good! This is a great spot for Happy Hour if you're in the area.

Yelp
Great local place with awesome food and friendly staff. Lots of tvs everywhere, so good place to catch a game while eating. I tried the Shrimp and Grits with Bacon. Two of my favorite things! It was a hefty portion that tasted fabulous. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Don't go for the food. Go for the ambiance. Trivia night on Wednesdays. Friendly service. Lots of seating although trivia night was packed. I for the fish burritos and it was pretty flavorless as was the fish and chips. Burger was just ok and the tenders hit the spot. But overall we weren't excited about the food but still had a fun time. Fries were good. Oh and definitely dog friendly. They even have a dog menu lol.

Yelp
Loved this place so much!! We have driven by here a few times and finally decided to go on a Sunday morning. It was virtually empty at 10am on a Sunday morning and we got a great seat on the back patio. They have a deal for mimosas on the weekends I believe and it was super cheap for a whole bottle of champagne and some orange juice. I don't remember the exact name of my breakfast plate but it had a little bit of everything and it was seriously so delicious. I loved the biscuits and gravy and the potato's were crisped and seasoned to perfection. Everyone got something different and everyone loved their meals!!! This is a great spot for breakfast lunch or dinner or just to hangout and watch football. I love the layout of the place and the back patio. Overall a great spot, very reasonable prices, and amazing food. Need to come back and try the lunch/dinner options!!!

Yelp
Visited this place for lunch. The vibe is very chill and friendly. The service was great, was seated right away and my server was attentive made sure to check on me. The chicken sandwich was good and juicy. Definitely recommend to give this place a try.

Yelp
One thing that San Diego has over NY is their pancakes. For some reason, NY can't seem to find value in making REGULAR buttermilk pancakes. I don't wanna ricotta, panacotta, allthecotta pancakes. Just regular pancakes will do, and this place, Working Class, does them very well. Do not sleep on a well made REGULAR pancake. Great eggs as well. But them pancakes. Yeah. Great service, and super cute. We sat on the front patio.

Yelp
My friends and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and we enjoyed it! There were a lot of tables with both indoor and outdoor seating. The servers were friendly. I got the Blood Orange POG hard kombucha. I loved it. Definitely tart & had great flavor to it. I would definitely get this again.

Yelp
Excellent selection of beer and great food. Rueben sandwich is delicious. Great spot to kick it with friends

Yelp
The TABLE breakfast sandwich was well with the $11. Fresh, lots of bacon and avocado, I throughly enjoyed it. Service was great as well.

Yelp
I was cravings some wings this past Monday and I remembered Working Class offers wing night every Monday from 5pm - 10pm. I was glad I decided to come back and try their wings again. We ended up ordering 15 wings, $1.25 for the wings. You have the option of ordering in quantities of 3, 6, 9, or 12. Each quantity of 3 wings has to be the same flavor. As far as the wings go, hands down some of the best flavored and seasoned wings I have tried. The wing sizes are not too big, not too small. All of the three flavors we selected, Sweet Chili, Dennis Dry Rub, and their flavor of the week were amazing and delicious. I regret not ordering more to take home. If I had a favorite flavor to select, it would be their sweet chili and their Korean inspired flavor this past Monday (11/25). They do offer a variety of drinks here from several brewery beers to ciders, sour ales and even Kombucha. The service is great, our server went above and beyond and would regularly check in. The environment is very enjoyable and friendly. This place definitely feels welcoming and you can even bring your pets. The only downside I would say is the parking situation. It does get packed fairly quickly and street parking is difficult to find. Overall great experience!

Yelp
2nd time here...didn't know they served breakfast until I looked again. Its a self sitting restaurant and we sat outside on the patio to watch football. We were greeted and got water quickly. Took us a few mins to look over menu. The food came out and it was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal!
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
The staff was really nice. Everyone said hello and they checked in a lot. The beer was delicious. I would come back for trivia or Monday wing night. Cool lights inside.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing burger!! Our server really didn't want to bring us extra house sauce for some reason but gave us 1 extra after some back and forth. A little weird but no worries. We enjoyed watching the football game in their outdoor patio.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant/bar to hang out in San Diego. The servers & bartenders are all top notch and the food is well prepared & reasonably priced. I never miss a chance to get their cauliflower & pastrami sandwich. Their beer selection changes weekly(?) and often features interesting and desirable breweries & types of beer. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a chill place to get some drinks & food in North Park.
google avatar

Kaitlyn W.

Yelp
This place is the ultimate hang out spot! They have a big dog friendly patio with TVs and a wide variety of things to order. We ordered hard kombucha, Mac and cheese, breakfast burrito, and the working class burger. Everything tasted great and I would order those 3 things again. Our waitress checked on us frequently and made sure our waters were filled. I'm so glad we chose to go here for dinner, I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
We took our dog out for his 10th birthday here. The server was really nice, and the place was casual and kid friendly. Typical bar food was good, though maybe not really offered at "working class" prices, but not much is these days. We had a nice time and the place seemed perfect for the occasion. Two stars, however, because our dog got really sick after eating the food...
google avatar

Yelp
The vibe here is amazing! They are pet friendly with 2 patio options so it was really nice to enjoy our meal with our pups! The food was incredible highly recommend the rice bowl with chicken or salmon! The service was amazing everyone was so nice and quick!

Yelp
5/5 for their burgers and fries, but 4/5 overall. Service is really good, friendly, and laid back. Definitely a spot I will be returning to fairly often.

Yelp
Classic beer bar, good food, nice patio, happy hour, trivia, what more could you want

Yelp
This is our North Park sports bar mainstay, and I'm so glad we have it in the neighborhood. We make it our tradition to go watch college football here during the New Year as it was the first place we went to right after moving to San Diego. The breakfast burrito has to be one of the best kept secrets in SD; it's absolutely delicious and pairs well with morning football and coffee. The staff are also always friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots to grab a beer and a burger. The back patio is spacious and a perfect space to hang out with friends or our pup. It is always a good time!

Yelp
Great little place to pop in for breakfast/brunch. Friendly server, nice menu, tasty selections, just a chill vibe and good morning, all around. Their salads were especially fantastic.

Yelp
Great burgers Recommend the Working class fries ( "animal style like) Dog friendly atmosphere Friendly service Plenty of TVs for the games and fight night

Yelp
Finally got to try this place as we were visiting Ripcurrent Brewing across the street. We needed some food and this place hit the spot. They also had a decent beer menu and I couldn't resist getting a Blind Pig even though we had just enjoyeed several beers. I ordered the Reuben and my wife got a chicken sandwitch. We split 1/2 and 1/2 and both food items were great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is super casual. Once you find a table you can order beers at the bar and they will bring them out to you. You can also order from the QR codes placed at the tables.

Yelp
Here's the updated 5-star Yelp review: 5 Stars Working Class is absolutely amazing! The food is insanely fresh, and the staff is fantastic--friendly, attentive, and super chill. And let's not forget the beer--such a great selection to pair with the food! The only downside is the parking situation. With all the construction, limited spaces, and meter maids patrolling like hawks, it can be a bit of a hassle. But honestly, the food and atmosphere are so worth it that I'll happily deal with the parking challenge every time. Definitely one of my favorite spots in North Park!
google avatar

Isaac H.

Yelp
Amazing spot!!! They have a great variety of different drinks and their fried chicken sandwich is iconic, get the fries with it too!
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
3.5 stars... My bride picked this joint for a Sunday funday brunchtacular! Sauntered off the street and bellied up to the bar and selected from a wide array of local brew options. Opted for the chicken & waffles... juicy chicken with a well seasoned breading, the waffle could have been cooked a bit longer to hold up to the syrup and chicken and remain crispy, but overall good! The syrup was served cold, but that's splitting hairs. Ambiance is industrial utilitarian, service at the bar was stretched thin, and prices were as expected... At first glance doesn't make the list, but we will be back!
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
Popped in here for a burger and beer on a Saturday night and it was just what I was looking for. Plenty of energy and people but not crowded. Great service. Wide variety of local IPAs on tap. I ran into a dude from my pickleball league. Twas my first time but shant be my last.

Yelp
Great weekend brunch spot! Nice indoor/outdoor seating and amazing service. We were lucky to have Justin as our server and hope to have him every time we go! Very patient, funny, and full of good recommendations. They also have great lunch/dinner food options as well. I've had one of their wraps before and you can't go wrong. Can't wait to go back!

Adrian R.

Yelp
I was in the area and in the mood for chicken and waffles and since this place had good ratings I figures it must be good. I had to say that I was very disappointed at the chicken. Little flavor and what little flavor it did have was not good. I have to say, I saw one of the kitchen staff reheating the waffle, in short, not fresh or frozen, in short not fresh. I have to say the service/server was great, nice friendly service with a smile. The restrooms were clean and at the time I went there were not too many people but they did serve several to go order. I doubt I will be coming here again, at least not for food, I loved the beers I had. I wish this place good luck and hope it sticks around for a while as the area seems to be getting improved.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
Nice spot to grab some food with our pup. Both the front and back patios were pet friendly. The front patio at high tops and the back had picnic benches which is what we picked. The burger and hotdog were both good. The onion rings were crispy and comes with their delicious house sauce. The only item that was average was the working class fries - the cheese, grilled onions, and house sauce was decent but the fry itself wasn't a texture I liked. Very average sized and didn't seem super fresh/crispy. Service was great.
google avatar

Suzette M.

Yelp
Soooo good! Biscuits and gravy are always a go to. So is the French toast! Always good sized portion and fresh.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
My bestie and I had a really great time here for dinner and definitely will be coming back! This place has a really laid back ambiance that makes you comfy and the food and drinks sets it to score. Positives: - Contactless ordering - Huge salad portions - Open patio area and inside seating (bar + tables) - Super dog friendly (even have a dog menu) - Vegetarian options - TVs on bar area - Super attentive servers! I witnessed a family leave their take out containers by accident on the table and the server sprinted down the road to track the family down and get their food to them Negatives: - No vegan or gluten free options

Yelp
I wanted to get chicken and waffles, so we went to Working Class since it was about 15 minutes away from where I was staying. The parking was limited. There was street parking, but they were all full when we arrived. Instead, we parked a couple blocks away from the restaurant. I ordered chicken and waffle; it comes with 2 bacon strips. The waffle was a Churro Belgian waffle. It tasted freshly made, and I liked the churro flavor. It was also light and crispy. The chicken also tasted fantastic. It was crispy and seasoned well with a tiny hint of heat. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Working Class. They have great food and service. They are also pet-friendly, so be ready to see a lot of cute doggos. They also have several TVs so you can watch sports, and they have a great music playlist playing. I love the vibe of this whole place. I'll come back when I am in the area.

Yelp
Food is very delicious every time I order from working class! So far I had their naked wings with Buffalo sauce on the side, sweet chili chicken, their shrimp and cheddar grits, Mac cheese 2.0 and Caesar salad. Shrimp & cheddar grits cost $16.50, it came with two eggs any style, dry rub shrimp, diced bacon & tomatoes over cheddar grits. It is sooooo good, I would give it a 9 out of 10! I would definitely order again but it was heavy, make sure you have a place to sleep after this entree lol. Naked wings with side of Buffalo sauce costs $11, served with carrots, celery and ranch on the side. The wings were so crispy and delicious. I love it, would rate 10 out of 10 Sweet chili chicken wings costs $11.00, served with carrots, celery and ranch. The sauce for the wings was good but I prefer the Buffalo over the sweet chili sauce. Rate it 8 out of 10 Caesar salad costs $12. It consists of romaine, radicchio, Parmesan cheese and croutons. It was just okay, they topped it with a lot of Parmesan cheese. Rate 7 out of 10. Maybe next time, I will add chicken to the salad. Mac and cheese 2.0 costs $13, it is cavatappi noodles, beer cheese, diced bacon and jalapeños. I thought I would love this dish but it's my least favorite, it strongly tastes of beer. I know it's beer cheese is the main ingredient but it was a strong flavor. It was a-lot going on lol. Overall, I will keep coming here for food. It's very affordable and I will try new dishes in the future.

Yelp
Working class has never disappointed me. From the friendly service to the delicious food. The whole vibe was just laid back no rush and that was nice. Definitely a solid restaurant.
google avatar

Libby S.

Yelp
Last Sunday, I visited Working Class for brunch and had a great experience. I ordered the chicken wings with the dry rub and the breakfast burrito. The chicken wings were cooked perfectly, and the dry rub added just the right amount of flavor. The burrito was ginormous; I could barely finish half of it, but it was definitely worth the money. I enjoy going to Working Class in general. It's a nice little neighborhood bar with a good selection of beers, as well as wine and bubbles. You can even bring your dog onto the back patio or the front patio. The menu is varied, and I highly recommend the chicken wings. Working Class is definitely a place I would recommend.
google avatar

Susie T.

Yelp
I think this is a neat place that was open early. I had some time to kill, and grabbing a beer would be perfect. The only problem was that no other places opened that early. I'm glad I found this spot. They had breakfast foods and sandwiches. They have quite a few beer selections and sandwiches. I loved that I was able to have my dog, and the sitting area outside was very accommodating. My only annoyance was that there were tons of flies. It got into my beer and blue cheese. The waitress was cool snd just brought me another beer. I really enjoyed myself here. The food is ok but the place was awesome. I'd definitely come again.
google avatar

Sami L.

Yelp
Cool little dive bar! They have a great beer selection. We shared the hummus plate and I was satisfied with what we got. The service is fast and friendly, everything is reasonably priced. Super laid back, which was exactly what we were looking for. Definitely a beer place.
google avatar

Lorena M.

Yelp
Working class is a great gem to North Park, we love coming to watch football and have brunch. They have a great beer rotation and specials throughout the week. Big shoutout to Imee, she is so friendly, attentive, and we truly feel we are taken care of.
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
Love this bar. Love the beer. Love the food. Love Imee (but don't tell her, it's a secret)

Emma J.

Yelp
This is my favorite local spot in North Park. The local beer selection is excellent, the food is consistent in quality and reasonably priced and comes out fast. The staff are super friendly and there's plenty of seating even on busy nights. I love this spot and will continue to go. Try the PM breakfast burrito it's my absolute favorite.
google avatar

Darcie J.

Yelp
Working class is a fun environment especially on trivia night. They have a great beer selection and the bartenders are always awesome. Food is decent, although it could be a bit more unique for the price point. Chicken Pot Pie is my favorite food and I would give theirs a solid 3/5 mostly for the beautiful puff pastry top.

Sydney M.

Yelp
Just left wing monday and Juan was AMAZING. He first helped us get a nice seat outside and offered to fill the propane tank to ensure that we were comfortable. He gave us suggestions on when to come and all their specials, and he was so so attentive. Thank you Juan I will definitely be back because of your service.
