"A new casual bar and eatery on 30th Street that's friendly to both kids and dogs, Working Class replaces Ritual Taverna after its ten-year run. Sold to Paul Fatta with Jeffrey Kiyama as operating partner, the owners have thoroughly redone the North Park building with fresh windows and skylights, expanded front and back patios, and doubled the bar to support 30 taps of craft beer, wine, kombucha and coffee fed by a new cold room. Kiyama told me he hopes Working Class will find longevity by offering a laid-back gathering place with full table service and accessible prices; the diner-style menu includes salads, sandwiches and 1/3-pound burgers ($7–$10) and entrees such as chicken pot pie and shrimp and grits ($12). There's a weekday happy hour with $5 starters and $4 draft beer and wine, and it's open 9 a.m.–midnight on weekdays (until 2 a.m. Fri–Sat), serving breakfast until 2 p.m. and the full menu until 10 p.m." - Candice Woo
