"This electric-pink-and-blue roller rink in Bushwick feels like a middle school dance where someone experienced their first kiss—except it’s also grown-up, with booze, disco, and house music. Skate-themed cocktails (like a blue Skaterade) are $15, skate rentals cost $7, and it’s nearly impossible to have a bad time here, even if you suck at skating. Come with a big group of friends and fuel up with a loaded hot dog when you need a break." - sonal shah, bryan kim, neha talreja, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick
"Even though the DJ never played it, we couldn’t get Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics out of our heads for about three full business days after our visit to Xanadu. "Xanadu, a neon-lit roller rink in Bushwick, looks like the kind of place where you’d hold hands with your crush for the first time in middle school. The only difference is that it gets the full-on Jefferson Street L-stop party treatment, with $15 cocktails, DJs spinning disco and house, and funhouse mirrors in the bathrooms. Bring out your neon, your short shorts, your cropped jean jackets, and your leg warmers, because this place is a recipe for a really fun night—even if your roller skating skills are on par with Fergie singing the national anthem. There are snacks, like a pierogi-loaded Polish hot dog and tuna tartare Frito pies. Xanadu takes reservations for table space, so come with a big group of friends on a night with a DJ you like, or for a birthday. Skate rentals cost $7. photo credit: Mike Shane" - Will Hartman
"Don’t worry if you aren’t confident on roller skates, because Xanadu, a retro-futuristic roller rink in Bushwick, offers lessons before the main adult skating sessions on the weekends. Relive your middle school years, except this time you don’t have to sneak booze in—they’ve got a full bar, clubby neon lights, and events with DJs." - will hartman
"The world is scary and it can be hard to find joy. Not so at Xanadu, a massive roller rink and nightclub that opened this week in Bushwick, where your body will be showered in wholesome fun. The concessions stand is better than it needs to be — with hot dogs that come topped with Indian relish, mushroom chile crisp, and pierogies. Save room for the Ambrosia salad with Oreos." - Eater Staff
