Hip & modern Spanish eatery with multiple levels including dining room, wine cellar & bakery/deli.
"Xixón isn’t a shadow of its former self—it’s a penumbra, a vague existence of the once great Spanish restaurant on Coral Way. The majority of the lightbulbs in the restaurant are out, and the noise dampening panels have entire dust bunny farms homesteading on them. The food is in even worse decay. The pulpo a la gallega is tough and slimy, and the sliced potatoes it comes with crumble with every fork jab. The absolute worst part is the tortilla española, which gets reheated in a microwave behind the bar. Needless to say, the tortilla is dry and rubbery. Finishing it is a worse chore than dusting your vents—which this restaurant also desperately needs to do." - Virginia Otazo
"Xixón is one of the best places in Miami to get traditional Spanish food. You'll find no modernist gels or foams here. This restaurant has a massive menu that reads like Spain’s greatest culinary hits, from smooth as silk Andalusian gazpacho to pulpo a la gallega, a simple Galician dish of braised octopus and potatoes. If you love lechón, order the cochinillo a la segoviana, a roasted suckling pig leg served with panadera potatoes and caramelized apples. The one complaint we have about this place is that there are too many good things to order in one sitting, so definitely bring friends. But if you do happen to be here on your own and only have room for a few bites, the croquetas will give any Miami bakery’s versions a run for their money." - carlos c olaechea, ryan pfeffer

"A hospitable hangout on Coral Way, Xixón offers more than 300 varieties of Spanish wines to pair with its robust menu. Featuring a healthy mix of small and large plates like meatballs, garlic shrimp, grilled seafood, and classic desserts like churros with chocolate, the restaurant delivers as much mood as flavor with its intimate wine bar and outdoor terrace." - Eater Staff
