The Best Cinnamon Rolls In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The cinnamon rolls here have a flake to them that’s babka-adjacent (another baked good this Park Slope place excels at), with thick swipes of cream cheese frosting and a strongly spiced filling so plentiful that every layer tastes like the center of a regular roll. That makes it pretty good for sharing, if you must." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, will hartman

After reading Google reviews with high ratings, I left home early and stopped by before going to work. It was around 7:30 shortly after the store opened, and I was impressed that all the products were lined up in the showcase. The calm and pleasant staff made a wonderful start to my day. Thank you. The ham and cheese croissant had a crispy skin and was filled with plenty of ham and cheese. The cheesecake was smooth and very delicious. Cinnamon Babka matches the sweetness of cinnamon and is perfect for coffee.

Google
got the babka and it hit perfectly after 10 miles into my long run. cute, laid-back space with solid coffee. small but cozy, and staff were super sweet. would return to try the sandwiches and more pastries. a nice break from the busier cafés nearby.

Google
The chocolate babka hype is justified. It was really good. Also got the maple hojicha latte, was good.

I slept on this place for too long after moving to South Slope. This is my new favorite bakery! The atmosphere is great despite only having two seats, there is a lot for sale here on the walls (decor/records, etc). The cinnamon and chocolate babkas are to DIE FOR. I will be coming back here frequently to try all of their menu items, I’ve only been impressed so far. Also their ham and cheese croissants are just perfect after a night of drinking lol

Google
CASUAL CAFE WITH INCREDIBLE FOOD 🥮 Yardsale Cafe feels exactly like how it sounds when you step inside. Unpretentious vibe made up of literal yard sale memorabilia on the walls that are for sale. The owner takes pride in what he bakes. The babka is well-known and delicious. So are the cookies. But what really hits it out of the park 🏌️‍♂️ is the ham and cheese croissant 🥐 It’s not the typical kind at other places that feel hollow and leaving you craving for more. No. These Ham and cheese croissants are densely packed with aged cheese … it’s a meal that taps you out. Pairs well with cold brew. The space is very small with a tiny 🪟 window seat inside and additional seating outside for that “back patio” feel. Super chill vibe here. Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
Great coffee, yummy cookies in a friendly cafe. Love the vintage items for sale. Bought some unique glasses and always leading through the records. The he babka is amazing.

Google
Staff is always very friendly and also patient when my morning brain can't decide what I want. The pastries are all excellent! We particularly love the babka, cinnamon roll, and the olive bureka. They make a great dark hot chocolate. I enjoy all of their coffee drinks but I'm no connoisseur so take that in context. The shop is full of all kinds of cool collectibles and vintage tchotchkes which are pretty much all for sale which is a fun vibe and occasionally a good place for an eclectic gift. I still wish they had more than a pair of chairs for sitting inside.

Yelp
Yardsale is a such a cute, beautiful gem in the neighborhood! The store has a really unique and inviting feel. I love that everything in the shop is for sale and has clearly been hand selected and curated with care. Aside from that, the pastries are to die for! My favorites were the burnt cheesecake and the chocolate babka - easily the best in Brooklyn, though the cookies and croissants I tried were also amazing. Highly recommend this cafe/shop to anyone in the area for a coffee, a pastry, and a really unique ambience!

Yelp
Excellent cappuccino and cinnamon bun! Cute atmosphere! Was in the neighborhood and decided to try. Yes would recommend!

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon this quaint bakery last week, and while we were charmed by its adorable ambiance, there were a few aspects that left us wanting more. Although the lack of seating was a minor inconvenience, the warm welcome we received from the staff more than made up for it. They were attentive, efficient, and made sure we were served with a smile. Now, onto the pastries - we opted for the butter and chocolate croissants. While the consistency of both croissants was spot-on, we felt they could use a bit more flavor. The butter croissant was good, but a touch bland for our liking. Similarly, the chocolate croissant, while delicious, could benefit from a richer chocolate filling. As shown in the attached image, it was a bit sparse in that department. Additionally, it was served cold, which was a small letdown. We recommend asking for it to be gently warmed for a more indulgent experience. In summary, while this bakery has its charms and offers friendly service, there's certainly room for improvement when it comes to the flavor and filling of their pastries. We might give it another try in the future, hoping for a more satisfying experience.

Yelp
Great place in the neighborhood we were staying in for a coffee or pastry. A bit of nostalgia hits you when you walk in as they sell vintage trading cards! So many of my childhood memories came back so vividly. The coffee was great. The cinnamon roll was delicious. I missed out on trying a slice of the burnt cheesecake, but can't wait to try it next time.

Yelp
The only words that come to mind with which I can explain my encounter with this café is fated coincidence. As someone who lives on the border of Sunset Park and Park Slope, my allegiances are usually with businesses on the southern side of the invisible class divide. I left my yoga class on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, sunny with a cool winter breeze going through my ponytail'd hair. It must be divine intervention for when I turned around and looked at the red awning, I was immediately drawn to check out this unassuming little café, tucked in snuggly along a long exhaustive row of retail real estate. Staff was so friendly and welcoming. The inside of this café is so warm and welcoming with its utilitarian floor, and dark wood walls, with all sorts of knickknacks for sale, and an expensive collection of records, together with the faint trill of edgy music of Tame Impala. Walking in here felt like a big warm hug. I was in the mood for a treat so I went with the too much chocolate chip cookie. Easily one of the most delicious chocolate chip cookies I have ever had, it was gooey in the center, chock full of chocolatey goodness, and crispy around the edges, and on the outside. Just an absolute textural dream. For $4.50. I could not believe the quality of the baked good that I was chomping on. I will definitely be back here to try their other offerings, but I just absolutely had to come here to sing Praise to this beautiful little neighborhood nook.

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop! Has a vintage vibe, their tea selection is great and you can browse old playbills/kitchen ware while you're in there! The barista's are super nice! The cinnamon rolls are also very rich and great, but the vegan cookies are my fave

Yelp
Yardsale is my favorite coffee and bakery in Brooklyn. The pastries, drinks and the vibe are incredible. Some of my favorites to order are the babkas, ham & cheese croissant and olive burekes with a good cappuccino. Shawn, the owner is the sweetest and the kindest person and he made me feel at home every time I go there. Can't wait to come back!

Chino P.

Yelp
Around 11:30 ish. Upon walking in another patron graciously allowed me to enter before he left which already started the "happy" process. Greeted by 2 workers who helped me with my Babka delimma. I ended up with the Nutella n Dark Chocolate Babka. They do not skimp on the filling and it was good...with a hot cup of coffee. At almost $20 this will be a cheat n treat day thing. I need to try the cinnamon babka next thi.
google avatar

Marc F.

Yelp
Love this cute local cafe for their baked goods. I'll walk my dog in the morning and stop in to grab some freshly baked delights. Nutella babka to die for and a cinnamon bun that will put same on the rest. Both of these are definitely not for a single person to eat, please be responsible and share with a loved one.
google avatar

Raphael D.

Yelp
The consistent quality of pastries is what keeps me coming here after three years and it's one of the few coffee shops in the South Slope that bakes croissants on premises. Croissant texture is exceptional and just the right size for breakfast or something to nosh while you browse their selection of toy cars, cards and memorabilia from your millennial and gen-x childhood. If you can eat the cinnamon roll without getting sticky fingers you didn't really eat it.

Yelp
Judging by the reviews from a year ago and including today Yardsale cafe is a nice spot. There are vintage postcards, comics, and assorted knick knacks everywhere so you will definitely see something new on each visit. They have a small backyard to enjoy your pasties & coffees. Ordered an everywhere croissant and a butter croissant both were flakey and soft. I feel anything "everything" is killer so I have nothing but praise. Along with a cappuccino it was the perfect start to an enjoyable Sunday with my wife. The ladies were what you want customer service wise, friendly and engaging. We will be back.

Yelp
The flavors are complex and often astonishing in a good way. The babka is decadent, both juicy and crisp. The savory offerings are unique and very good as well. I would describe them as delicate and subtle with delightful flavor surprises. One was especially memorable, filled with a thin cheese, with notes of rosemary bringing delight to my taste buds. Definitely worth investigating.

Caleb T.

Yelp
The coffee was AMAZING! I got a plain almond milk latte. Didn't even need any flavoring - I just put two stevia in it. Probably the best coffee I've had in NYC so far.

Caroline G.

Yelp
What's better than delicious babkas, croissants, bourekas, and coffees? An incredible owner who knows customers by name and actually takes the time to make sure each and every person feels welcome and taken care of. Yardsale is more than a cafe, it's a super special locale where every detail has tremendous thought put behind it. Gorgeous antiques, a lovely backyard, and friendly smiles to brighten your day. Love you Yardsale!

Yelp
OMG the cheesecake, I'll be dreaming of it daily. The kids were entertained for hours going through vintage comics and post cards and the pastries are divine. Highly recommend

Daniel H.

Yelp
Great coffee and friendly staff! Highly recommend the babka and other freshly baked pastries. Don't miss out on this neighborhood gem!
google avatar

Serenity G.

Yelp
Small cafe in Brooklyn with really friendly staffs! It's a small cafe with minimal seating inside. My coworker recommended this place and brought in a whole babka for the team to tried. This place became my go to whenever I crave babkas. My husband and I absolutely their babkas. We've gone back 3x just for their babka! I have tried babkas from other places and it cannot compare.
google avatar

Melanie H.

Yelp
The best! Their babka is incredible, as are their coffee drinks. You really can't go wrong here, everything is made with love. They're also the friendliest baristas/servers in the neighborhood which I very much appreciate! The space is also so cute. I wish they'd bring back their lunch salads and sandwiches though :)
google avatar

Karen N.

Yelp
Such a unique concept. Coffee and vintage items for sale. It is like walking through a yard/garage sale. Customer service was excellent. The latte was good, but a bit small for the price. There is only one size option. They have a variety of pasties, all looked very good.
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
Excellent pastry shop. Picked up a spinach and cheese bureka, too much chocolate cookie, and Nutella babka. Bureka was flakey with a crispy cheese base. Liberally covered in sesame seeds. Cookie was soft with big chunks of chocolate. Nice balance of sweetness and saltiness. Babka was my favorite. Super soft and incredibly rich. On par with any of the Jewish bakeries in NYC. They were well stocked even though we came by around 4 pm. Service was friendly and quick.

Yelp
This cafe is my happy place in the morning. I love the cozy and easygoing vibe. They have the best croissants in the neighborhood hands down and the coffee is always excellent. I'm also basically addicted to the burekas as I love savory pastries, something you don't often see at other cafes around here. The owner and baristas are always friendly -- one of them suggested I try simple syrup in my hot coffee and this was a game changer for me! My kids love to check out the vintage playing cards so I can drink my coffee in peace, and I may or may not have been eyeing the NKOTB trading cards for the better part of a year. :)

Audrey L.

Yelp
I stopped into Yardsale on my way home the other day and they did not disappoint! The nutella babkas are amazing. The iced tea is so refreshing. The other reviews are right about this place! I also love the idea of a thrift store/coffee shop. So unique!

Rachel C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a chocolate chip cookie and it was one of the best I had in the city! The service was great as well and there were tons of cute and interesting things to look at / buy.

Hannah S.

Yelp
Anytime I am in BK, I have to stop in to grab an iced latte and a babka! This place is the absolute cutest and while I am not able to go there every day, the owner took the time to learn my name a couple visits ago and now he remembers me! This shop is great for treating yourself to something sweet! Also, I always end up buying a piece of art off the display wall because why not?! If not for me, it's a great gift. I love this little café!

Josh B.

Yelp
My wife, daughter and I used to live around the corner from Yardsale. It was our go to coffee and chocolate croissant spot. The selection of sports cards and other unique memorabilia is a bonus! Shawn and his team were always so welcoming to us! So much so that when we moved to Chicago, we continue to order their coffee beans and I've managed to increase my sports card selection. . Keep up the good work! See you guys soon

Harold G.

Yelp
My favorite cafe in bk. I love the babka, croissants, bourekas, cinnie rolls, and cookies. I usually go for the lavender oat matcha, but the coffee's been so good when I've switched it up. Plus, they have all these cool items the owners find at flea markets and yardsales. I always leave with a little gift for a friend. Really great service- such nice people, and there's a really cool little patio out in the back!

Eugenia D.

Yelp
Yardsale is delicious and fun! It's such a unique shop with its cute outdoor seating area and vintage products. I love stopping by as often as I can because there is something different to check out every day! The absolute best part about this place is the service. The owner is the most attentive, kind and generous business owner I've ever met. He remembers my name and always encourages me to try something new. I'm not sure if anyone could be even kinder - this is what makes yardsale my favorite shop - the people!

Donavan I.

Yelp
OMG this place is amazing! The coffee was on point. They have super delicious pastries - burekas, croissants, babkas. The space is interesting themed and you can check out some fun nostalgic stuff like cards and comics. If you're in the area, it's a must!

Emma L.

Yelp
Incredible (and very rich) chocolate babka - probably the best I've ever had. Solid coffee, and very friendly service. Highly recommend this place!

Sasha F.

Yelp
A sweetly, unique cafe, we thoroughly enjoyed the interestingly eclectic environment along with the delicious bakery items on offer ..highly recommend!
google avatar

Kayla B.

Yelp
My words will never do justice for the burnt cheesecake. Wow. The best cheesecake I have ever had! I didn't have much expectation since it's the only gluten free item they had, but boy am I going to keep coming back! So creamy and flavorful. I haven't finished my slice and I already crave it, Completely disagree with other reviewers: this place is definitely better than Roots. The service was fast and pleasant. Plus they have amazing trinkets for sale. 10 stars if I could!
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
From the customer service to the pastries everything is a 5/5 at this place. A cute little hidden gem that I see myself enjoying for a long time. The cold brew is great, the ham and cheese croissants are delish, the iced tea was wonderful, and the Nutella babka is the best you can ever get. Strongly recommend to drop in and pick up some Pastries.

Yelp
3.5 stars. I came here early last fall, and it was great to sit outside and enjoy my chai latte (which I really enjoyed) on the precipice of cold weather starting to seep in. They serve their teas and drinks in such cute and unique vintage-looking teapots and teacups. I believe the owner bakes the pastries and desserts himself, and they change a little every day. The burnt cheesecake was delightful, as was the cinnamon chocolate babka. From what I've heard, the banana bread is also fantastic but tends to sell out very quickly. I'd suggest grabbing lunch elsewhere and stopping by here for a drink and a pastry or two, because the larger plates were completely skippable. My friend's anchovy plate was $12, which (as you can see in my photo) was so scanty and honestly a ripoff. I got a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich drizzled with balsamic vinegar, and it was okay, but the bread was firm. It did the trick to fill my hungry belly though. Things are on the pricier end here, but I think I've been saying that about more and more spots in NYC. Remember when you used to be able to get a chai latte for a couple of bucks? I miss those days. While it doesn't quite surpass the likes of other great coffee/food shops in the area like Roots Cafe and Southside Coffee Shop, it's still a nice addition with a decent amount of outdoor seating.
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday evening around 5:30pm. I got 2 everything croissants, a chocolate croissant, and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was my favorite. Delicious. I'm looking forward to trying their burnt cheesecake on my next trip there.
google avatar

Amol K.

Yelp
Don't love giving out 5s because nothing is perfect but damn the almond milk cortado is top level. This beverage tasted like a marshmallow meeting a pillow meeting a bold espresso and then them all dancing together to make a smooth sweet caramelized yummy drink. I've been here a few times and it's always good. The vintage decor and old school stuff for sale is solid for nostalgia. If your in the South Slope... it's worth a stop.
google avatar

Justin K.

Yelp
Let's have an open and honest conversation about how that burnt cheesecake changed my life. Combine that with the all too seasonal cinnamon rolls, and I'm sold forever.

Alex F.

Yelp
Alright, I don't leave reviews anywhere usually, but for my first it has got to be this cafe! I was recently in New York visiting some family and of course decided to try a new place. So, I stopped in this cafe and i had the best experience! I was looking to try something new, so asked the young lady working ( I believe her name was Danielle) for some recommendations and she had so many things to say. Although, I did just get a simple latte it was so good! Overall great customer service, timely, and great coffee! I will definitely let my family know to keep supporting until I can come back!

Alexandra G.

Yelp
Amazing Kalamata olive and cheese bureka! Super friendly staff. A great place to get your coffee and breakfast.
google avatar

Jake L.

Yelp
Best cafe and bakery in Park Slope hands down. Shawn makes amazing babka and croissants and serves up great coffee. Highly recommend stopping here!
google avatar

Crystal L.

Yelp
Oh, my, wow... ... is all I can say about the MATCHA LEMON COOKIE!! It's dense, it's salty, it's sweet, it's lemon-y fragrant, and the matcha has a creamy texture in this cookie. The universe gave me a sign today (it was outside of their store) so I stopped in. The staff was cheerful and the whole vibe of this place reminds me of happiest moments of my childhood.

Eyal A.

Yelp
I've been in this coffee shop before about a year ago because I lived in Florida, This year I went back to my old neighborhood to drink great coffee and great pastries!!!!! Service was great food was fantastic and I got some souvenirs for my friend, After all it was a perfect place to lay low for a little while here is some pictures.
google avatar

Dallas D.

Yelp
This cafe has (had?) the best cinnamon roll I've ever tasted. That said, on my last visit the roll was quite stale. Ordered a cold brew and was charged .50 cents extra for light ice. I get it, there's more coffee that way but couldn't help feeling nickel and dimed. Hope they're doing well but I left with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Teva B.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in South Slope. The pastries are delicious, the coffee is so refreshing, and the atmosphere is just so cute and relaxing. Couldn't recommend it enough!
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
I don't typically have a difficult time making a choice between sweet treats but at Yardsdale everything is so good that I often end up eating a few different things. The Basque-style cheesecake it absolutely to die for, super creamy but with a deliciously firm, caramelized outside. The Babkas are equally delicious, either in cinnamon or Nutella (my mom prefers the Nutella for dessert and cinnamon with her morning coffee) The salads and other savory goodies are also delicious and the team that works here leaves you wanting to come back for more and more. Would HIGHLY recommend you check this place out!
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
Cute little shop with coffee, sandwiches, and other small plates. Walls and shelves are lined with just about the kitschiest stuff you've ever seen.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
I have tried a variety of their croissants here and all of them were so delicious. Some of the best croissants I've had in NY. The croissants were super flaky and moist and flavorful. A must try if you are in the area!
google avatar

Sabrina D.

Yelp
Ok they're SO nice in there and have amazing bourekas ! Must try one! I haven't had anything else... yet but definitely will be back.
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
A very welcome addition to the neighborhood! Good coffee, great food, and a very friendly staff! Many, if not all, of the desserts are freshly made, in addition to an excellent menu of salads and bites. As you can see, I recently ordered the fattoush salad and it was excellent! Served as a sizable portion of well-cut veggies (heirloom tomatoes, radishes, baby cukes) and herbs with a light dressing and seasoned croutons. Also a big fan of the "Too Much Chocolate" cookie, although I think there's never too much chocolate in a cookie! Support this local biz and don't forget to browse the shelves for cool, retro gifts. Everything is for sale at the Yardsale Cafe!

Yelp
I can't say enough great things about this coffee shop. I come here all the time and they are consistently great with fantastic customer service. As some others have said, the cheesecake is amazing. It is the best cheesecake I have ever had. Their other pastries are fantastic. Another favorite is their chocolate cookies and their babka. All of their pastries are made on the premises by the owner who is there all of the time. The coffee is great; they make the best lattes. The ambiance is so fun. Going with the yard sale theme they have lots of great items, none food, for sale too. I love looking through everything. Overall, this is what the area needed. You will not be disappointed if you give it a shot.
