"The kolache is an unsung hero of the breakfast world, and we wish everyone (besides our friends in Houston) knew about the beauty of this dense yeast-dough pastry. Yeast does some of the best in Nashville, and you’ll want to try every variety of their fluffy golden goodness. Traditionalists should go for the sweet “Bohemian” options filled with cherries, apples, or blackberries, while carnivores should lock in on the savory “Tex-Czech” kolaches (the sausage, cheddar, and jalapeño is where it’s at). While there are a few tables available inside and on the small patio, we recommend snagging your treats and enjoying them in East Park across the street. " - bailey freeman

"When there’s no time for a leisurely breakfast or a long pancake line, swing by Yeast in East Nashville. Open at 7 a.m. daily, this counter-service bakery is one of the only places in town to find tender Czech-style sweet kolaches topped with buttercream and sprinkles and Tex-Czech-style savory kolaches stuffed with a mix of sausage and cheese — simple to grab and eat as you go. They’ve also recently opened a second location in Donelson (2713 Lebanon Pike)." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

If you love kolaches, this may be the best you'll ever have. Located in the east part of Nashville, they bake all different kinds of kolaches every morning they are open. The jalapeno and cheddar kolache was great, but the sweet cream cheese one was OUT OF THIS WORLD! They warm it up for you and wow- the taste, the texture. It was SO GOOD! I savored every bite and that thing was big too!

I needed to eat after landing. I was driving around and google maps suggested it. The "macho" (all toppings) breakfast tacos were great. Staff is friendly. Better for order to-go but there is limited bar-style seating in doors and a table outside. May hit again before I fly out.

I’m a Texas girl visiting Nashville & was SO excited to find this place where they served BOTH Texas kolaches & breakfast tacos! I was told the owner lived in Texas for many years. The sausage & cheese kolache was yummy & the dough had a nice sweetness to it. I also enjoyed the cream cheese kolache. The breakfast taco was decent but pricey at $5. My caramel vanilla latte was delish. Service was friendly & place is super cute! It was also nostalgic to see all the bumper stickers from Texas.

Adorable little place. Very small place for line, but the employees ensure that everything keeps moving quickly. Food is outstanding! Never had anything bad here, but I'll always go back to the Sweet Cream Kolaches.

Yeast Nashville 🥞🧇🍩 LOCATION 🏡🏭🏚🛖 - Very small. No indoor seating, 3 tables with 4 chairs each for outdoor seating. Two of those tables have umbrellas ⛱ SERVICE 🙋🏼‍♂️💁🏼🕺✍️ - The man that took my order at the front was extremely friendly. The entire staff seemed relaxed and happy to be working together. FOOD 🍔🥗🍕🍜 - My wife got a sweet pastry and I got a jalapeño Kolache. The kolache was so good we went back for a another one for seconds 😬 PRICE - 💰💵💲💳 - CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! Coffee was $2, almost everything else is under $3-$4! Overall Thoughts - Wife and I came with our corgis and sat outside and had an absolutely splendid time eating high quality food for a very low price! High recommend!

My spouse and I stopped in to grab some coffee and pastries for a picnic. We absolutely loved the vibe and the people working, they were welcoming and helpful! We got the sausage kolache, cherry and cream cheese. The savory ones were my favorite and an authentic take on the Texas favorite. The bread was soft and slightly sweet, baked perfectly! The cherry one was our second favorite. I also got an iced latte which was smooth and not too sweet. The dirty chai iced, my husbands choice, was excellent. All around great establishment! Check it out for a quick, tasty bite!

SerpAPI
What a unique place! Tasty options. I wish we could see the production in the back and how they prepare the kolaches. I loved reading about the history of the savory pastry too. Definitely a hipsters hidden gem that will soon be discovered by the mainstream ones. Not a lot of seating, mainly pick up and go. There's a little shop just across the inside mall that I also recommend you check out.

If you like yeast breads and quality food - then this place is for you! Hard to beat their Tex-Czech Kolaches - jalapeño, sausage and cheese is great. Blueberry muffins - delicious. Not a ton of seating outside…but grab and eat in the car is so worth it.

Yelp
We were staying at an air bnb nearby and loved this place so much, we came here all three mornings we were in town! It's a small but adorable bakery that serves savory & sweet kolaches as well as breakfast tacos. The pastries were always soft, fresh & delicious (we pretty much tried them all) with our favorite being the sweet cream kolache and the special savory kolache of the day (Everything seasoning). They had a wide variety of coffees and teas and the service is quick. There isn't really any indoor seating (just a few chairs along the wall with a bar) so I highly recommend trying this for a to-go order!

Lara L.

Yelp
We had yummy kolaches and breakfast tacos from here. Picked up the order to go and my husband ran in so I can't say too much about the ambiance but we were able to order online which I appreciated. They didn't realize they had an online order until my husband went in, but it didn't take too long. The kolaches were really filling and the bread tasted great. The breakfast tacos tasted like homemade tortillas and the tomatoes made it taste really fresh and add a lightness to it. Overall was impressed! I think going back the breakfast taco would be my favorite.

Amari Y.

Yelp
Well based on the breakfast tacos it's a one star. I'm sorry but I don't want fries as my potato in a burrito. The bacon wasn't even cooked very well either.Maybe will come back and taste those kolaches but idek.

Calvin N.

Yelp
Visited Yeast over the weekend and I must say it was fabulous as always. The service quick friendly and spot on made for a great way to start a Saturday! We took a moment to sit and eat inside and take in the aromas and ambiance. The jalapeño sausage kolache was delicious and the Macho taco bowl as well. Plenty of parking out front and a quick in and out of you are in a hurry.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Service was really bad. We got there a couple minutes after opening and the person at the front complained and said we were too early and they weren't ready for us and was rude. Limited seating. Food was good. Coffee and teas were okay.

Laura M.

Yelp
Best kolaches in town! Highly recommend getting both a sweet and savory version as I can never decide.

Cory B.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time today as I was looking for a coffee shop near an event I was working and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the Hipster Horchata and a Jalapeño Sausage Koalache. The Kolache was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I would definitely order one again. The Hipster Horchata I ordered iced. It had the lerfect amount of cinnamon flavor. I definitely had a great first impression and will be back !

Lauren M.

Yelp
such a yummy cream cheese kolache! it was served warm and then you can ask them to warm it up further too. they also have lots of fun drinks on their menu and it's super cute inside! parking: lots of parking in a lot out front!

Ali M.

Yelp
Fantastic food, service, and reasonable prices. Some days of the week they have breakfast tacos which were great (the meat-free bean taco was fantastic!) and the sweet cream kolache was unreal! The orange cream chai sounded a little funky but I'm a huge fan of orange so I gave it a try and it did not disappoint. Such a great find and will be returning back soon. Also there is a paid lot outside but I would try to find free street parking by the park if you would prefer not to pay. Interior was cozy with some counter-style seating.

Brady R.

Yelp
Came in for a quick grab n go experience. Got the cinnamon rolls and an iced herbal tea. The cinnamon roll - *chefs kiss*. The tea was also refreshing and exactly what I was looking for. Great service, nice little dining area if you want to stay, and lots of options. Sadly no tacos when we went :(

Lauren W.

Yelp
Love the cream cheese kolache! Breakfast tacos and espresso drinks are pretty good. Seasonal espresso drink I tried was only okay, a classic latte was better. It's very small inside with only about 5 chairs. Not much space for the line either. Parking lot can be confusing, there are some paid spots and some free. There is a church in the building so Sunday morning parking can be tricky!

Candice R.

Yelp
Our food was good but not really warmed up enough. they were out of most things and it would take about 15 minutes until more was ready but there was no where for us to comfortably wait. I want to comment about the seating an actual space. This was our first time here and we chose it because the youngest wanted something like "Dunkin Donuts". This is not good for groups and "cozy" seating is generous. I know cozy means small but not only on sided bench that seats 6-8 adults only. There wasn't anywhere to sit so we got our order and ate in the car.

Jake M.

Yelp
An amazing bakery with great coffee. There's nothing here I wouldn't recommend. My favorite would be the breakfast tacos and kolaches. Go here. Great owner, great customer service

Daniel H.

Yelp
On our last day in Nashville before flying home we found this place that is only a block over from our hotel. I wish we'd have found it earlier. The sausage kolache and sausage cheddar muffin were both delicious. We got a cream cheese kolache and cherry kolache to eat later. Both were equally as delicious. This is very much a carry out place as they only have about six chairs at a long bar for seating. All in all, if you're looking a quick, delicious, and reasonably priced breakfast, this is the place!

Victoria O.

Yelp
As someone who grew up going to the local donut shop every morning before class for a Monster and a kolache, I'm pretty much a pro judge when it comes to these. Yeast Nashville is seriously doing something right. These precious pillows of pure bliss are a revelation, and if you're craving some delightful Texas throwback breakfasts...get your butt over here. It's small, some may say quaint...don't expect table service. Just get in, get out and go stuff your face. They sell out quickly, though, and you should also follow them on Instagram to see their daily specials.

Mirko P.

Yelp
It is hard for me to review this place. I'm patronizing Yeast Nashville almost weekly and always have good experience. Service is consistently good and efficient. Mostly, my order is simple. It's a cappuccino. That's when it becomes tricky. It's not a ambiance, because it's kind of cool. Shows a working environment. What bothers me is that is so limited seating places or better to say chairs. Used to be a table outside, but not anymore. I believe, there is enough nice, sunny days in winter months to justify having the table or couple chairs outside.

Nicolette T.

Yelp
This is a great quick breakfast spot. It's more of a grab and go spot, so snag one of the complimentary carry out spots in the front lot. They are known for their kolaches, a Texas classic pastry, served both sweet and savory. They also have a great drink menu to go along with your pastries.

Scott H.

Yelp
Great spot for a quick breakfast early in the morning! The Kolache's are great with a lot of varieties offered. They are also extremely filling! Service is friendly as well...

Nicole T.

Yelp
This place was the perfect fast breakfast option on a Sunday morning. I placed my order online and it was ready for pickup minutes later. The site was easy to use and very simple. I ordered the sausage and cheese kolache with a cinnamon roll and a coffee. Everything was delicious and made to perfection. I'm so happy I ordered my cinnamon roll online because they ran out by the time I got there to pick up. If your looking for fast and friendly service that's matched with delicious and cheap food then look no further!

Allissa T.

Yelp
This is my favorite breakfast place. The jalapeño cheddar sausage kolache is life changing.

Eli T.

Yelp
I found this place booking on Yelp for a bakery. I was not disappointed with what I found. This place knows what's up when it comes to baked goods. I got a quiche for my healthy option. Super fresh filled with veggies and cheese, I highly recommend! I saw the cinnamon roll and could not resist... it was covered in rich cream cheese icing and bursting with buttery cinnamon goodness. My friend ordered the breakfast tacos and was extremely pleased. Pro tip come early! They sell out quickly, I arrived at 10am and they were nearly sold out of many of their items.

Austin G.

Yelp
The food was so good! My favorite thing was the sausage and cheddar kolache. The bread was amazing, literally just amazing. Everything was super flavorful. Totally recommend giving this place a try for breakfast. We didn't have any coffee or drinks but the options were plenty. I enjoyed how we were able to get in and out with not much wait. It's a cute small space with a couple of outdoor tables as well. Who I believe to be the owner looked like a super happy and pleasant woman. The cashier was kind and offered to warm our items as well as offered salsa. Definitely a recommend from me and a highly recommend on the kolache. I'll be dreaming of it until we come back.

Terence S.

Yelp
I go here and way to work on Saturdays. I get breakfast taco and the blueberry muffins are killer

Erin F.

Yelp
I've been here in spring past 2 years and last time wished I'd gotten a larger coffee after tasting it - not sure why but it's amazingly smooth. The pastries are on point. It's busy and tiny and there's not really seating, but they clearly know what they're doing on coffee drinks and pastries!

Ashley C.

Yelp
SO GOOD! Make sure you get there early because they do run out of pastries! Cream cheese kolache was amazing!

Landon W.

Yelp
Found a little gem today! They have the best pastry! The bread was so amazing in the kolache. It has a perfect sweet/thick/moist flavor and the cream cheese was so flavorful and fresh. The coffee was a little burnt so I didn't enjoy it as much but the kolache was great. They also had breakfast tacos (more like a burrito) that I really wanted to try but they were out of some things since we got there right before closing time. I'll be back soon to try those!

Mandy S.

Yelp
The kolaches are incredible, had to come back the next morning for breakfast. Taco bowl was also superb, great for gluten allergies. Apple kolache was my favorite out of the ones I tried, but you can't go wrong with any of the sweet or savory options! Coffee was also done well, will come back next time I'm in Nashville.

Rachel W.

Yelp
I ordered two kolaches, the cinnamon apple and the jalapeno sausage & cheddar. Both were filling and I loved the doughiness of them. I recommend ordering early because past the middle of the day the selection is limited. Admittedly, my jalapeno sausage kolache was good but not great which is why I'm giving them 3 stars. However, if I had been able to arrive sooner and try more things I believe they would be getting 4 stars. Please note that my rating is only based on 2 options. I was visiting from out of town so I didnt realize I needed to order sooner.

Anna Grace M.

Yelp
This place was phenomenal! Their breakfast taco is probably a contender for best around because of the tortillas alone. The kolaches are great and they have some unique flavors that I loved. Also amazing coffee. Overall very solid

Jodie N.

Yelp
We were super excited to try out a kolache place being from Texas. The workers were nice, and the menu was super cute. We got the regular kolache, jalapeño kolache, cinnamon roll, horchata latte, and the orange mocha latte. The kolaches had a different breading than expected being more cornmeal rather than fluffy. It was still good, but we felt like it had too much breading. The cinnamon roll was also different being more wheaty than fluffy. The coffees were super tasty though and not very strong if that's what you like.

Heather S.

Yelp
My daughter-in-law found this place and ordered a bunch for us to pick up for their event. Everything was so good and fresh. I did not take pictures but we enjoyed it all. I think we got to try everything they had and no complaints about any of it. If you like cinnamon the cinnamon rolls are a must.

Kait C.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop conveniently located in East/5 Points area. Coffee: /5 stars The options are more limited then other shops, but the coffee is good. Nothing to turn your nose up at. Food: / 5 stars lots of delicious options to choose from. The crustless quiche was memorable, as was the blueberry kolach. I wish their breakfast tacos were served during the week, but I'll be back to try those on a Saturday. Service: /5 stars The staff here are incredibly friendly and kind, and willing to interact with you beyond niceties. I wish their outdoor set up was better. Only two tables and it's the iron style furniture so the sun makes it too hot to be enjoyable. You can always sit on the stairs just beyond the health clinic. Overall, an enjoyable neighborhood coffee shop that's worth stopping by.

Colleen B.

Yelp
this is my absolute favorite place for breakfast in Nashville. I found this place by accident about three years ago and it's a "must go to" each time i'm in town. My most favorite thing on the menu is the apple cinnamon kolache. I live in TX, and this is even better than most down south. Also, can't go wrong with the breakfast tacos too. The cinnamon rolls are about as big as my head and they are good heated up. Other good things are the meat and cheese kolaches. Sorry for naming most of the menu, but this place is *chefs kiss* There are now a couple of tables outside to eat and sip some coffee before the craziness of the day (rather than indoor seating). Also, you can go in to order and they accept all card payments and no cash at this time. nothing wrong with that, just wanted to give all a heads up (:

Lauren W.

Yelp
Happy to find that this spot was right near out hotel in East Nashville. I'm a big fan of Kolache, and these didn't disappoint. We sampled a couple of the sausage varieties, a cherry sweet kolache, and a blueberry muffin. All were perfection, and I wish I brought a couple back to Ohio with me. Nitro iced coffee was also excellent, and customer service was great. The woman working the counter was very sweet and friendly. Location is very small, but there are some seats inside at a counter, and there were a couple cute umbrella tables outside too.

Yaqi Y.

Yelp
This place was near my stay and had great reviews, ordered the local favorite kolaches (blueberry and sausage with jalapeño) which were pretty good. How I would describe the sweet kolaches would be a combination of scone with danish.

Jeremy C.

Yelp
I've never had a kolache before coming here and to make a long story short, I never knew I needed one until now. I got the blueberry one to go, and it was a whole new taste I haven't tried before. It was very doughy, almost like a mix of a biscuit and a danish and lightly sweet tasting. The blueberry half-filling half-topping was pretty sweet and was like a jelly texture to it, but a little runnier. Probably wouldn't make too many special visits back, but I'd definitely consider stopping by if I was in the area!

Ben W.

Yelp
Honestly, I had to try this place since I love sweets and heard they had cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls were one of the best I have ever had and my go to sweet if I had to choose one. The glazed dressing on top is just the right amount and after they warmed it up, the dough was the softest I have had from any cinnamon roll before making it easy to pull apart piece by piece and was pretty big. The roll was around $5 but to be honest, it was totally worth it! Would totally stop there again to get their incredible cinnamon roll! Must have! The strawberry kolache was okay, but I don't think I would order it again just because they already have great cinnamon rolls to buy.

The S.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast tacos and kolaches! So glad to have found this place. Definitely worth a visit.

Fox E.

Yelp
If you get sick after visiting this place, it's probably a Yeast Infection. I had a pretty bad experience at Yeast. They have a lot of the stuff from Texas like the Kolaches, which honestly are usually not done very well, and these ones don't look very good... but I didn't get to try them, despite being eager to. After standing in line for literally 7 minutes - because I was counting - I had to get on with my day and hurry up. The reason why I didn't like waiting for 7 minutes is because I was third in line but the older couple that were first in line were discussing baked goods endlessly after paying for their purchase and it took about 5 minutes. Now I wouldn't have minded if they wanted to have this conversation with the cashier for 5 minutes or 500 minutes while they were ringing other people up and checking people out. But they made three or four of us very angry and two of us left without buying anything. I had already noted that prices are astronomical and when people are popping in for some things in the morning they have to be able to manage conversations while also ringing people up. Or just hire an extra person because Lord knows they can afford it with the prices they are charging for baked goods, and how popular they are. Kolaches are a dollar in Texas. Sometimes less.. They're 3, 4, or 5 dollars here. 2 stars instead of 1 because they're local. Will raise them up (like Josh Groban) if I actually get to try them next time.

Dot M.

Yelp
I ordered coffee with a girlfriend while we were staying a couple blocks away at the Russell. Pickup was a breeze and ordering was really easy. I wish I had had room for a treat as well, but I'll just have to go back next time I'm in town!!

Heather M.

Yelp
If I could only eat 1 food for breakfast for the rest of my life, it would be the jalepeno cheddar kolache! Stringy cheese, a little sweet heat... chefs kiss. My boyfriend loves their breakfast tacos. We definitely recommend this place as a cute place to pick up breakfast on the go!

jason j.

Yelp
Nice little shop with good selection of breakfast items and coffee. It was nice to see Texas style kolache in Nashville. We purchased a bunch of items to bring back and share with the family for breakfast. The sweat items were ok, but he savory items were the best. The savory muffin and breakfast pot pie are my favorites. would recommend and return.

Zach P.

Yelp
Liked the menu so decided to give them a try. They have a variety of great pastries and seem to specialize in Kolaches. Coffees seemed to be selling well also. My wife had a lavender latte and she barely let me try it so must've made an impact. I opted for the breakfast tacos and they were mighty fine, any establishment that carries Cholula is after my own heart. My crew got several kolaches and enjoyed them. The line moves slow and seating was cramped but manageable. If you are in the neighborhood support this local offering and you won't be disappointed.

Laila A.

Yelp
Get the dirty chai with oat milk. Hands down the best chai I've had in forever. Cinnamon roll, Oddly enough has too much cinnamon and sugar. The cherry one honestly tasted like the cherry filling you open up from a tin can, a bit disappointing. But I'll be back for the chai latte

Michelle L.

Yelp
Omg if I lived in Nashville I would eat kolaches from Yeast all day every day. This will be my comparison kolache for all other kolaches here on out. Ordered online, very easy, seems like maybe a more limited menu because of COVID. Had to wait around 15 minutes and received a text when my order was ready for pick up. Both kolaches were hot, just out of the oven and so freaking good!! The sausage and cheese in particular - the kolache bread was sweeter than expected which contrasted perfectly with the saltiness of the sausage and cheese. I could've also just eaten that kolache bread plain, that's how good it was. The cream cheese one was also super tasty. Creamy and sweet, with good chew from the bread. Would love to also try the fruit filled ones! The coffee was also very good. I got a nitro coffee with soy milk - just delightful. Don't miss out trying this place - it's worth the trip.

Kendall R.

Yelp
I ordered online and came inside the store to pick it up and the girls working were so sweet! My friend and I both got the cinnamon rolls and they were HUGE and delicious!

Diana J.

Yelp
best kolaches ever. better than any I've had in texas. I highly recommend Yeast Nashville

Samantha C.

Yelp
Might be wrong to say this of a kolache place, but the blueberry muffin was actually my favorite piece. It had SO MANY blueberries and was wonderfully flavorful and moist. The kolaches were good, make no mistake, it's just so rare to find a good muffin that isn't falling apart from being overly dry. Their chai was also really good! We had to get there super early because they tend to run out of things, and they were already out of a couple items. That and the lack of seating (3-5 tables total, mostly outdoors, uncovered) is what drives it to a four rating from a possible five, because I would definitely travel to get this again next time I'm in town.
