The 22 Best Restaurants In Peckham - London - The Infatuation

"A family-run North African stall just off Rye Lane, Yemanes’ specialises in speedy and deeply satisfying wraps. The fillings—think falafel, fresh salad, and tender lamb shawarma—are great, but it’s the wraps themselves that really make this place a must-try lunch spot. They cook each one fresh for every customer, and it’s delightfully chewy and thick. If there’s a wait, it’s worth it. If you’re really feeling bold, you can fight it out for one of their few little pavement tables." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager, riaz phillips

The Best Shawarma in London | Eater London

"The owners of this much-loved Peckham street stand put their own Algerian spin on the shawarma wrap. There’s a choice of chicken or lamb, but the latter is the winner. It isn’t cooked on a spit, but rather on a plancha, before being rolled up in a Yemanes flatbread (also cooked on a plancha) with a red kidney bean spread; fresh pepper hummus; stewed lentils; feta and olive oil cream; and chilli sauce. It may feel a little idiosyncratic, but it is a very satisfying wrap with the right level of spicing, heat and contrast. Watching the bread being rolled out and cooked moments before eating it certainly adds to the experience." - Joel Hart

Yemanes' - Review - Peckham - London - The Infatuation

"Sometimes queues are a sign that a place is very good and sometimes a queue is just a sign that you did some drunk online shopping and now need to wait 45 minutes for the Zara returns desk. In the case of Yemanes', it’s definitely the former. A family-run North African stall just off Rye Lane, they specialise in speedy and deeply satisfying wraps. The fillings—think falafel, fresh salad, and tender lamb shawarma—are great, but it’s the wraps themselves that really make this place a must-try lunch spot. They cook each wrap fresh for every customer and it’s delightfully chewy and thick. Thanks to their £6 price tag, Yemanes' is permanently busy at all hours, but the wait is worth it, and if you’re really feeling bold you can fight it out for one of their few little pavement tables." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Peckham’s Best Restaurants | Where to Eat in Peckham and Peckham Rye | Eater London

"Still affectionately known as Salas’ after its original co-owner Salah Yaiche, this takeaway wrap van on Parkstone Road is almost as beloved in these ends as the Morley’s opposite. Now known officially as Yemane’s, for Yemane Berhe who runs it, it specialises in North African wraps, with a deceptively simple menu of lamb or chicken shawarma, spiced halloumi, kofte or falafel. Deceptive because terse descriptions don’t reveal that the spiced halloumi is gloriously breaded and deep fried, so it’s soft, gooey and crunchy, or that every wrap comes with a choice of six homemade dips, from aubergine to sun dried tomato, making each order a combinatorics problem. By mixing and matching proteins and sauces, it would be possible to eat here every day of the year without eating the same wrap twice. (Spiced halloumi + chicken shawarma + aubergine and chilli sauce.)" - Jonathan Nunn

Google
Awesome spot for wraps on Rye Land in Peckham. Freshly made wraps, delicious filling and great portions. We had a falafel wrap, a lamb and halloumi wrap and berbere seasoned fries. Everything was delicious. Very friendly service. Highly recommend.

I discovered this place on Google about 3 months ago and I’ve been back pretty much every week since. It really is THE BEST WRAP YOU WILL EVER TASTE. Everything is handmade, the wraps, the sauces. Staff are super friendly , super chill, and in good spirits. Wholeheartedly recommend. If you’re hungry in Peckham - heck, if you’re hungry in London- get yourself to Yemanes. That’s it.

Google
This photo might look like it’s of an average wrap. But let me tell you this is most certainly NOT an average wrap. If you look closely you might spot the muscularity of the wrap, it’s taughtness on the outside, it’s chewiness on the inside… if you’re a wrap champion you might spot these things. What you won’t be able to spot is the inside. WOW. Falafel that are better than pockets, and that’s saying something. Breaded halloumi that has the perfect crunch and munch to it. Cracking sauce and just he right salad ratio. Very well done indeed, thank you.

Google
How many wrap places do you know that the first thing they do if make the bread fresh? I had the halloumi wrap which… I dunno how they made it that crunchy. Such great texture. The sauces were also immense, make sure you get them all. For £7.50 too! Real value.

Google
Absolutely delicious! I had the halloumi wrap and it was spot on, crisp but not dry, with perfectly fresh bread and amazing fillings. The sauces really tied everything together and gave it so much flavour. Simple, fresh, and full of care, exactly what you want from a proper street food spot in Peckham. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
This is my absolute favourite spot for lunch! I’ve been coming here for over 8 years and I can’t get enough. Lovely little spot just off the lane where you can sit and watch the people go buy. The wraps at this place slap so hard. Fresh bread and chutneys everytime I order (which is always a Lamb kofta and haloumi wrap) it tastes slightly different which is why I can’t stop coming back. Amazing spot. People are so lovely aswell boss man has been smiling at his customers for years. It’s the one place I recommend to everyone who comes to Peckham. Big up Yemanes’

Google
This place is the OG wrap spot in the whole of London. Best bread you’ve ever tasted. Hand rolled in front of your eyes as you wait, cooked fresh and then filled with all the goodness. Yemanes all the way. It’s a classic

Google
Such a comfortable 5 stars. Yemane is so (understandably) confident in his food that first-timers only pay after they have enjoyed the food - challenge anyone to not love the delicious subtle sweetness to the secret sauce and the lightness of the homemade bread for the wraps. 10/10, 5⭐️, will be back this weekend
