"Anatolian-inspired cooking from experienced chef-owner Civan Er, who made his name at acclaimed sister restaurant Yeni Lokanta in his home city of Istanbul. Daily changing menu of vibrant, gutsy, flavoursome sharing plates; techniques are rooted in tradition, with dishes cooked over oak in the Josper oven." - Michelin Inspector

Yeni Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"Yeni is exactly the kind of restaurant you take someone to when you want to impress them, but also make it look like you haven’t really thought about impressing them. It’s a cool, Turkish small plates restaurant in Soho, that has a casual Mediterranean feel but also some pretty serious prices. Their daily menu is all about dishes that would be even better with a glass of white wine and some sunshine - octopus, aubergine manti, pan fried brill - but for the small plates you’re looking at £12 a plate and the most of the mains fall around the £30 mark. The service can be a little eager but it’s well worth swinging by for some pan fried feta and a glass of wine." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Phenomenal time and food. My partner and I had the tasting menu to share, and what a memory it was. I am blown away by the kofte and scallops, lamb and dumpling. When I say these dishes evoked a smile from within, I mean it. We are both of Middle Eastern descent with refine palettes and we appreciate flavour, quality and execution when enjoying a culinary experience. I’m actually shocked that food can be this amazing. We want to come back before we’ve even left! Thank you for feeding, hosting and giving us an opportunity to enjoy an amazing date with insane food.

I’m in London for business. Did a search of best restaurants in Soho. I’ve traveled a ton around the world and have had a LOT of amazing meals. I can honestly say that this may have been one of the best meals of my life. The presentation was truly beautiful. But the taste and flavors blew my mind. Like nothing I’ve ever had before. Wow! Thank you Google search. Treat yourself!

A Delicious Evening at Yeni – A Modern Twist on Turkish Classics We had a fantastic dinner for two at Yeni, and it was truly one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in a while. We started with pastırma, delicately prepared and full of bold, savory flavor. The mantı was a standout — silky dumplings in a velvety sauce, topped with vibrant red and green oils that made the whole dish feel like a piece of art. The aubergine was rich and comforting, topped with almonds, and figs — a surprisingly perfect combination that worked beautifully. We ended the meal with the quince dessert, served with ice cream. It was light, elegant, and the perfect sweet finish. Special thanks to Akash, who looked after us with warmth and professionalism — and honestly, the whole team was lovely. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere had a cozy yet modern vibe. Yeni is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience creative Turkish cuisine in London. We’ll definitely be back.

Yeni is an absolute gem. Every dish we had was a creative masterpiece — modern, bold, and beautifully executed. The chef’s take on Turkish cuisine is imaginative and unforgettable, with each bite bursting with flavour. The mantı is a must — truly the best thing I’ve ever tasted. It’s not just food, it’s art. Service was fantastic too — warm, attentive, and welcoming. Highly, highly recommended. If you love food that surprises and delights, Yeni should be at the top of your list.

I had previously been to their original branch in Istanbul and had a wondeful time. They have brought over the same level of quality in food and service to London. Thank you, this is a great place for a special occasion or a date. We had an aubergine dish, inegol kofte, manti and the octopus. All of them were exceptional.

Google
Absolutely scrumptious meal and a great dining experience. The manti is out of this world - it's the most delicious thing I've ever eaten and we just couldn't get enough. We also massively enjoyed the sweetbreads, beef cutlet, scallops (outstanding), smoked aubergine, breads, and the rice pudding. A great experience overall - we'd be back in the blink of an eye!

We will be back!

I have been to Yeni before and had a great experience. However, this time it was a bit disappointing, as I had high expectations based on previous visits. We had the tasting menu, and the service was extremely slow, with long waiting times between each dish, likely due to being understaffed on a busy weekend. It was also very loud, and we could barely hear the waiter. Additionally, both of our salads had several lemon seeds, which suggested they were rushed. By the end, we were so full that we couldn’t fully enjoy the last 2-3 dishes, although they were delicious. It would be great to have a tasting menu option with fewer dishes. Overall, the food was good, but the service wasn’t great.

Yelp
So delicious! Great option for a date night or for a group dinner with friends. Definitely plan for sharing, as you'll want to try everything. Don't skip out on the manti.

Yelp
Yeni is a Turkish restaurant with some fusion items on the menu from Spain and other places. The food menu is well designed and the tastes are very well balanced. The beef dumplings are exquisite, the artichoke and fava beans is a delight and nicely paired with the fresh mint leaves. The drinks menu perhaps is the weakest point of the menu, and although the cocktails are quite interesting, the rest of the alcohol menu is not as rich. The missing last start in my review is mostly around the service and the smell. The service staff as passionate about their fair but still seem new to their roles and have difficulty explaining the menu well enough. They also lacks the finesse needed for a restaurant built on this level of passion. There is also the issue of smell of charcoal grill. Perhaps some better ventilation would free the customers from smelling like a kebab afterwards.

Yelp
Managed to snag a seat here on a Saturday evening with no reservation. Ended up being probably my favorite Mediterranean I tried in London (over Honey and Co, Ottolenghi). The complementary dumpling of sorts in the beginning was a dud to me, but I'm quite picky about dumplings. Besides that we ordered: snow peas, green apple, mint, chili yoghurt - was a surprisingly large portion but unfortunately the vinegar / acid use was a bit too much, and we ended up not finishing it all beetroot, dried sour cherry, xigalos - delicious. I feel like I've tried so many dishes of beets that it's hard to wow me with a preparation but this one was unique and delicious. Slices, layered and drizzled with olive oil, I could eat this for days. lamb shank, tamarind, spinach, porcini - Another generous portion, more than enough for two people to share. The lamb shank was amazing, very tender but nice crust on the outside, and great flavor. The sauce was salty / savory and complemented the lamb. All in all was impressed by the dishes we ordered, and it was quite affordable given the location and caliber of food and portion sizes.

Yelp
Fantastic, super awesome restaurant, with best food, best service, and best vibe. Would I go back? Hell yeah!!! Why? Because this was simply theeeee best dining experience I had in London (and I've been to London, to experience the food over 7,8 times) I've been to many of the it places and they were disappointing, but Yeni not only was the bear experience I had in london, probably one of the top 10 food experiences I had overall in my life. That is how food should be.... it speaks to your soul! So where do I even begin? Somewhere between the outstanding service, awesome staff, tastiest food ever, and theeee best cocktail I've ever had, (and of course the gorgeous decor and awesome atmosphere), I can only give Yeni 10 out of 5! I highly recommend this place, even if you are not a foodie, this would be a dining experience you'll most likely always remember in your lifetime. So here is what I ordered: 1) Snow pea salad with green apple, yogurt and mint. This wasn't something I was going to order but the bar tender so kindly recommended it and it tuned out to be my most fav dish of the night. It was absolutely amazing.... super tasty and very delightful.... the crispy fresh texture and the combination of tangy tastes was just soo great I wanted to order one more. 2) Hand made manti beer dumpling with yogurt (re-fermented yogurt- which is fermenting yogurt 2 times) The referee red yogurt was an absolute phenomenal! I've never had such a thing and I wish I could have more. It was super yummy, the only thing is the portion was a bit small, I just needed more of that tasty yogurt. 3) Vine leaf-wrapped beef (with some awesome tasing stuffing which I don't remember now) This was also supper yummy and I tried not to eat it fast so I could enjoy it more. It has some nice Smokey flavor/taste, not sure if it was pepper or?? But it was really delicious 4) for desert, Kadajifi fritters, mastic ice cream, candies orange with fresh oregano leaf The mastic ice cream was very interesting and unique, and it's combination with the candies orange and specially fresh oregano leaf was just perfect!!!! The Kadajifi fritters were my least fav, but the whole combination was great and they all went well together.... it's just that in general I don't like deep fried dough because it tastes like doughnut 5) cocktail: Passion fruit, chili and mezcal (sour & Smokey) OMG! FINALLY I found a place that can make me cocktail to my liking ... This was absolutely the best cocktail I've ever had because I like tangy and really sour and spicy drinks, without any sweetness and everywhere I go, in all the countries, there is always sugar involved! This drink had so much character .... it was super fun, absolutely delicious, and definitely to my liking. I asked for extra sour and a bit more chili and the bar tender made me just exactly what I asked for. This was so good that I ordered 4 of it Money well spent, absolutely! Oh Yeni you are definitely my most favorite place, there is only only thing I don't like about you, and that is: You are not in Toronto, or anywhere in Canada! Can't wait to have you there or anywhere in North America.... if not, I will need to visit London every now and then, to have the best dining experience Everything except the desert was 20 out of 10. Desert was 9 out of 10, but probably because I don't have a sweet tooth and am not a desert person. Please note, the pics don't do the justice; my camera does not take good pics and there was no light .... A BIG HUGE thank you to Kwane, Gorken and Civan Er for bringing met best london experience

Yelp
World's Best Octopus and service was extremely friendly. The wine recommendations were also good. Sad that this place doesn't have more reviews but I'm coming back here every trip just for the octopus.

Yelp
So. It was a pretty memorable night. Probably due to the company on hand...but I digress, you're purely here for the food review. I'm just setting the mood. There are those times you go for a meal trying to play to all the dietary requirements of those present. That's how this began. But let me tell you, there were plates that came out that shocked the hell out of me for how seriously amazing the flavor was, nevermind the presentation. But I leave you with two star items, from a menu filled with love and attentiveness, an ambiance that dances its way into simpler and more calming times, and staff...that you can't even call staff. People that smile at you, and it isn't pretentious or fake, people that welcome you and make you feel at home. -Dish 1: Please note, I hate beetroot -Olive oil braised beetroot, dried sour cherries, xigalo cheese. I don't know how they turned this purple root that I have abhored my whole life, into some concoction of smokey, delicate and delicious all at the same time. I mean it's the thing that always tainted all the other foods with its color and rude texture which wouldn't let anything else find balance in your mouth. However. Here. I ate it, and selfishly so. You would think I had never had it before. Oh wait, that's right, I haven't. -Dish 2: -Prawn stuffed vine leaves tempura, charred yoghurt, coriander. This plate got ordered a second time before the first was finished. Just order two when you get there. If you don't like it, I'll pay for the second one. Seriously. Get it. Also, major point. Ask for Gheorg (apologies, I am trying to remember the spelling). He is an amazing helluva waiter. You have questions? Gheorg got it. You want dietary considerations? Gheorg will sort you out. You need holiday vacation destiations? Gheorg is your man. Want to have a meal with minimal interruptions, while also having cinema reservations taken care of, while also getting delivery of ice cream from the nearby gelateria? I mean, I don't know if he can, but if there's someone that could Gheorg got it. Enjoy your night. I surely did. Plus I might have found someone that night with whom I got to experience something amazing..beyond just the food.
