Google
got a medium brown sugar matcha, around $7-8. when you walk through the door it is pretty humid, like my glasses fogged up humid. theres 2 kiosks that you can order at. the boba was good, sweet and chewy, but the matcha itself was mid. the color is kind of a brownish green instead of a vibrant green, but thats expected for boba places. maybe its because i got 70% sugar, but the matcha did taste a little bitter. for a medium it seemed quite small for a drink.

Having had my first Yi Fang experience in Taipei, I had high hopes when it came to Boston. I might be biased, but of all the tea shops in the city, Yi Fang ranks the highest when it comes to fruit tea. Every drink I've ordered from here is refreshing and never too sweet. The space is bright and has a modern, yet comfortable vibe. I've been on a crowded winter day when the store felt too warm and stuffy, but today when I came on a random Friday around noon, it was completely empty. There's a little more seating down the hall, as well as a bathroom. Their drinks are a little expensive, but always enjoyable. Today I tried the Peach Black Tea with green tea jelly and 50% sugar. I also really enjoy their egg waffles as an extra little treat. I usually try to avoid coming to Newbury, but getting tea from Yi Fang makes it all worth it.

Google
Yi Fang Boston is a must-visit for boba lovers, and their Brown Sugar Tiger Milk and Peach Fruit Tea are absolute standouts. The Brown Sugar Tiger Milk is a treat - perfect balance of rich, creamy milk and the sweet, caramelized flavor of brown sugar. The boba pearls are chewy and soak up the brown sugar syrup. The Peach Fruit Tea, is refreshingly light and fruity. It's a fantastic blend of fresh peach flavor and high-quality tea, creating a perfectly balanced, thirst-quenching drink. Both drinks are not just beverages but an experience that makes you want to come back for more. The store manager and team were really kind and quick with orders. Highly recommend trying them on your next visit!

Google
Had to try their fruit tea as it looked very promising. I got the pineapple green tea with less sugar and regular ice, the drink itself wasn’t too bad was smooth like drinking regular tea but the actual fruit was extremely sweet I didn’t know what it was. at first I thought it was the boba but then realized it was the pineapple itself just bitter sweet which wasn’t pleasant when I started drinking the tea and the pineapple just surprised me. Overall it’s pretty decent boba tea shop which was in a convenient location and clean, service was great.

Google
Their fruit tea has real fruit in it, and it makes the tea super delicious! My current favorite is the peach fruit tea. I’m able to get their drinks without any toppings and enjoy them, unlike other places where I have to get toppings to make the drink worth it. The store here is clean and the service is fast. There is some available indoor seating. There is a $10 minimum for credit cards, so make sure to bring cash if you’re just going to have one drink.

So good!!! So fresh and real fruits!!! The ppl who work there are so nice, especially Emily! She made my day!!! Thank you!!!

Google
Very quaint place to get your boba fix. The tea is great, the boba is small and delicious, the boba cup shaped waffles are amazingly delicious! They come in packs of 5 and are a sweet treat to go along with your premium teas that taste fresh. All of these for a little more expensive (like 7 - 9 dollars) but worth it for convenience and quality. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
One of the best fruit bubble teas I've had in a very long time! This Taiwanese tea store is bright, modern, and has a comfortable atmosphere. Indoor seating is offered along with a restroom (no outdoor patio or dog friendly seating). A refreshingly different bubble tea menu is offered, which makes you think more mindfully about your drink. Yi Fang boasts to make bubble tea the real way: without milk powder, syrup, or fructose, but with loads of delicious, real fruit. If you want a cookies n cream smoothie, prefer popping boba, or expect seasonal drinks to mean things like pumpkin spice latte or eggnog slushie, look elsewhere. But if you want simple, traditional drinks made with attention to detail, then this is the place for you.  I ordered the Yi Fang Fruit Tea ($7), which was a phenomenally-made beverage bursting with fresh and enticing fruit flavors. The sweetness was just enough, and this drink really hit the spot on a hot Summer's day. The staff is friendly and helpful too. Visit this place, and you will undoubtedly have added a new go-to spot on your list.

Yelp
The service is awful. The reception boy was cold to customers, and didn't remind customers to choose ice or hot, and when customers pointed it out and tried to change iced to hot, he was super impatient and pissed off. And I told them the sugar level, but what I got finally is a zero sugar milk tea. Very bad and frustrating experience, will never be back again.

Yelp
First time here, came out to almost $19 for two drinks, but boba on newbury so go figure haha. Quiet night, had another group ahead of us, ordered via kiosk and the drinks were made promptly. It's really cute in there, has Yi Fang merch, cups, tees etc for sale. menu on wall, two mini table seating. The lady got these from ubereats another day at work and it was great, this time it wasn't as good, a bit more watery less creamy but overall flavor was good!

Lizzie Y.

Yelp
We visited Yi Fang after dinner tonight & our experience offering in person was smooth! They have self ordering kiosks available, which you can pay via tap. We ordered two large mango pomelo sago drinks ($18.05). A little bit pricey but milk tea is quite expensive nowadays so, it's all good. I recently tried Yi Fang via Ubereats and had a good experience & today it tasted slightly different, a bit more icy.

Lilian Z.

Yelp
By far one of my favorite boba shops in Boston! My go to is the taro milk tea -- they use real taro here instead of the artificial powdered stuff and it makes all the difference in the world. Prices are a bit high but quality of ingredients justifies the cost. Shop is always very clean and the drinks come out relatively quickly!

Fatima M.

Yelp
Omg nomnom!!!! I ordered their plum green tea and it was so refreshingly good. You definitely taste the plum!

Keerthi D.

Yelp
Yi Fang is a great place to get a refreshing drink on Newbury Street. This tea shop is located close to the Boston Public Library and the Copley Green Line T Station. It's super easy to find and has space in the back for seating small groups. Inside, there's 2 places to order. There's a kiosk as well as an option to order with the barista. The full menu is located in an inconvenient location and the shop is set-up so when it gets crowded, it's a little uncomfortable to wait for your boba or tea to get ready. However, the Peach Fruit Tea I ordered hit the spot and had fresh peach chunks which elevated the flavor. I'd definitely go back for pick-up to try something else on the menu.

Yelp
I love this place! My favorite bubble tea places of all in Boston. The bubbles are always so fresh and chewy, soft and not hard, and flavorful (not bland). Their teas are very good, fresh and not too strong/bitter or light, and they use fresh dairy and also have non dairy options for anyone who needs non dairy options. I personally like the wintermelon latte (they call it latte here but it's milk tea) with tapioca / bubbles. Their drinks are good both iced and cold. I've had their hot drinks (ginger milk tea, taro milk tea, black milk tea) before which are all good. The menu will list all the bubble milk teas as "lattes" I noticed but it's really milk tea.

Corrine C.

Yelp
Amazing bubble tea! Very nice flavor. Tastes like authentic matcha and there are lots of boba.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
I've been to Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea multiple times in New York, so when I saw Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea on Newbury St, I was extremely excited. Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea uses 100% Authentic Taiwan Tea, seasonal fresh fruits, and naturally-braised cane sugar. The drinks are always delicious and refreshing. I usually get their fruit teas like the mango passion fruit tea. At this location, there are two kiosks to order from. Drinks are available in medium and large. I got their Brown Sugar Matcha Latte with pearls. The order was ready in about 5 minutes. I prefer their fruit tea over their milk tea, but it was still very good. The pearls are great. There are a few countertop seats by the window and tables throughout the store. Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea drinks are a little pricier, but the quality is definitely worth it.

Amy C.

Yelp
Normally, I love coming here for the mango pomelo sago but today might be my last visit. The sago in my first drink was raw (white and hard vs clear and chewy). The bobarista was nice enough to remake it for me after I showed her my drink. The second drink was better but as I mixed it on my way home, there was still raw sago in my drink. For a $10 drink, I expected better quality.

Rachel S.

Yelp
My friend and I were in the area and in the mood for boba, and this spot popped up in the search. We went in and ordered from the self-ordering kiosks, and our drinks were ready after a few minutes. She got the brown sugar milk tea while I got the strawberry milk tea ($6). Boba is an additional $1 and is mini sized but still a nice chewy texture. Our drinks were flavorful and still fairly sweet even at 50% sweetness. There were a few tables inside for small groups up to 3 people. Overall a decent boba shop to check out if you're in the area!

Yu Y.

Yelp
The mango pomelo sago is the best. You can adjust sugar levels for all of the drinks. Our drinks came out super fast and there's seating in the back of the restaurant

Shoshanah I.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this authentic Taiwanese boba place! My boyfriend and I (both milk tea lovers) got the fruit tea. I got the mango passion fruit with aloe. I'm usually a big fan of different textures, but the passion fruit pieces in my drink were pretty off putting. They were hard to chew, and with so many of them coming up in my straw along with the aloe it became an unpleasant experience. There were also big pieces of fruit that made it difficult to avoid and sort of passion fruit action. The place was pretty packed with people and it they had a self serve iPad so ordering was made easy. The people who made our drinks were nice, but there wasn't much room to stand and wait as it was so busy. We might come back for milk tea and give this place a chance again!

Christina P.

Yelp
Eh. I went to a better Yi Fang while I was in SF, but this one was kind of disappointing. Strawberry milk tea (7/10): didn't really have that strawberry flavor come through. I watched them make it and it seemed like they added a decent amount of puree to create the smoothie blend, but it just wasn't there. I liked the sago in it though, which was a nice touch. It has a nice color for pictures. Earl grey milk tea (5/10): this was incredibly disappointing??? It was really watered down, didn't have the earl grey taste at all. It also tasted really gingery, which was surprising, but I'm not sure if that came from the grass jelly or not. It wasn't unwelcomed, but the rest of the drink was just eh. Service was incredibly slow. I'm not sure why I waited 20 minutes for two drinks when the place wasn't that busy until 20 minutes after I had arrived (it started pouring outside and people started filtering in). There was one person making the drinks, not sure what the other person was doing since you order on machines. Some areas to sit towards the back, probably not enough to fit a large group of people. Would probably not come back for milk tea, I'd try their fruit tea boba next time if I do come back.

Yelp
Tried the mango pomelo sago the other day! I've never had a drink like it before, it was amazing! To me it tastes like a mango shake, with grapefruit pieces and the mini tapioca pearls. The grapefruit pieces caught me off guard since they were so tart compared to the drink, but it all tied together really well!

Soo J.

Yelp
Yummy drinks and prompt service. We got the passion fruit green tea and mango pomelo sago, 30% sweet. They were refreshing, simple, and tasty. Would recommend for a hot day out. Ambiance was nice. There were some seats inside and the cafe smelled of its egg pancakes.

Olivia P.

Yelp
Very generic tasting brown sugar bubble tea and incredibly slow service, especially considering that there wasn't many other people there. I would not recommend the french cocoa bubble tea, which tasted like straight chocolate milk.

Natania C.

Yelp
refreshing drinks, nice place to go after walking all day. fairly standard fruit tea shop

Alice N.

Yelp
I tend to steer away from getting boba on Newbury street due to my own experiences bc every drink I got was either watery or overpriced. The drinks looked so so good and pretty, but flavor wise it was lacking. In a milk tea, I look for creaminess with a strong tea flavor. Both drinks had good tea flavor, but in terms of mouth feel it was a bit watery. The boba was good though no doubt and perfectly cooked, but we paid almost to $8 for each drink so wish the milk tea was great at as well! I think their fruit teas might be better since a lot of people tend to get fruit teas here so it might be their specialty (hence the Taiwan fruit tea name).

Alice D.

Yelp
Yi Fang is a bubble tea chain that I usually enjoy and this location didn't disappoint! We came here on a Monday afternoon and the place was pretty busy - it gets a decent amount of foot traffic from folks on Newbury so there was a line when we walked in. Nonetheless, it moved pretty quickly and we were able to order within a few minutes. Their menu has a good amount of drink types, but I usually get fruit teas from here as their name mentions them. Their milk tea isn't too bad though. The drink came out pretty fast and they have a few tables in the back to sit down. The drink itself was pretty well made and the jelly I got was nice. Overall, I would say that this is a solid place to get bubble tea along Newbury - pretty pricy, but all places along this street are likely a similar price. For good fruit tea, Yi Fang is hard to beat!

Erin B.

Yelp
I got the mango pomelo sago and when I tell you it's the best drink i've ever had...i'm not exaggerating. While it was a bit crowded inside but I didn't mind it. It only goes to show how popular it and good this place is!! The mango was super fresh and I loved the texture of the sago, though I don't generally like bigger tapioca pearls so that may be just bias. Overall I really recommend and you should check out!! One of the better boba spots in boston definitely.

Larkin L.

Yelp
excellent bubble tea place with fast service, a calm setting, and delicious fruit teas!

Amy C.

Yelp
I like how I can actually taste the tea in the bubble tea. This was super refreshing to sip on while walking around. They have many flavors to choose from and have your drink ready pretty quick. They are a little pricy but I think it's worth it for the quality. This is a must try place for all bubble tea lovers!

Olivia Z.

Yelp
Only give 3 pancakes instead of 5 on a $10 egg pancakes. Called the store, the bad and curt attitude was beyond frustrating. Their response was just as short and unhelpful and no solution. Seriously, how hard is it to get an order right? Won't be wasting my time or money here again.

David Z.

Yelp
Great boba and great service! Best boba in Boston hands down, can't beat the location either. My go to every time.

Angelina Z.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but was unfortunately disappointed. I ordered the brown sugar black tea latte. The pearls were great--perfectly sweet and chewy. However, the rest of the drink was sour and watery. I'm thinking I maybe should have tried one of their fruit teas instead.

Edward W.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times and I must say that it is one of the best places for an iced cold fruit tea drink! I have tried their signature Yi Fang fruit tea and the passion fruit green tea. Both are very refreshing during the summer. I like how they actually use passion fruit seeds in their drinks instead of just passion fruit syrup. Tip: You can only pay by credit card if your total is over $10.

Naomi L.

Yelp
This place is one of my favorites for boba. I love their fruit teas and the boba is always very nicely cooked. The regular milk teas are also good but I do think their fruit teas are the star of the show. There is limited seating in the back but it is cute and secluded if you do get a seat. They use the kiosks to order so human interaction is minimal if you're into that.

Amy Z.

Yelp
Have stopped into Yi Fang a few times and enjoy their drinks. Main reason I gave them 4 stars is because the price point is slightly higher for comparable bubble tea stores in the area. Drinks: 1. Mango pomelo sago (3.5/5) 2. Yi Fang fruit tea (4.5/4)

Sasha V.

Yelp
I never give poor reviews, but I must say I had an unpleasant surprise getting Taro boba at Yi Fang. I always get Taro and have always loved it so I was pretty excited to order at a new place. However, the taro I got tasted nothing like any others, it was super bland and had a weird texture to it. I'm not sure if that's what it typically tastes like but I didn't love it. I actually ended up throwing away my drink because I couldn't drink it anymore. If I go to Yi Fang again I'll probably get a fruit tea but will pass on the Taro.

Charles K.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place enough. After finding out that there is a location in Stamford, I was thrilled and have been going there ever since. Their service, communication have been fantastic. If you have not tried their signature fruit tea, you must try it. They are delicious! I would give 5 stars if their fruit tea is on par with the flushing locations. Flushing still seems to have more variety of fruits filled up in the tea. Also, the tea quality taste better made by the owners instead of staffs, but given this is a new location, I am sure it will only get better!

Marina K.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and delicious bubble tea made from real ingredients without the typical artificial gunk.

Joyce K.

Yelp
I've had many a boba in my day, but within one sip I knew: this place is the real deal! I got the YiFang fruit tea and the Multi-floral honey mountain tea, and both were heavenly! They clearly use very high-quality teas and ingredients, and their pearls are delightful. It's pretty pricey ($8 or so) but well worth it for the quality IMO. My new fav boba spot in Boston!

Melanie W.

Yelp
I came here few times with my friend but never really interest with their drinks. I always want to try their egg pancake but never got the chance. Finally, I ordered the original and custard... each order contained 5 pieces, not worth the prices. Around 6 minutes wait to make it, so it is fresh and hot.

Sarah O.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with their Strawberry Latte! I've ordered it twice now and it's so refreshing, especially on hot days They also have a variety of teas, milk teas, fruit teas, and boba! Their fluffy egg pancakes are good for a little snack too. You can customize your order in terms of how much ice and sugar you want, and what toppings you'd like. You can order via the kiosk in the store to save time, and the baristas are so nice. Also loved the Winter Melon Latte and the Mango Sago.

Johnny Y.

Yelp
Never heard of this spot before. Thought I give it a try. The Brown Sugar Pearl Oolong Tea Latte was good. I like the fact that it wasn't overly sweet even though I selected 100% sugar. It still retained it's bitterness of the tea which was enjoyable. The French Cocoa Latte with Grass Jelly was definitely one of my favorites overall. Again. Wasn't too sweet and had the good quality grass jelly. Smooth to the touch! As for the boba shaped pancakes with boba filling and the cream. I would recommend the cream. Just cause it has more of that classic taste to it. The boba was okay. It's cute for all those IG food bloggers who want to photograph it. Overall it's not a bad place. A bit on the pricier side for boba drinks and pancakes. I don't want to throw out the "Back in my days..." but yeah.. I don't think I can pay $10+ on pancakes...when I grew up eating this for like $2 for 12... Granted it's shaped like a boba cup...but still.

Tiffanie J.

Yelp
One of my go-to boba shops if I'm ever in the area shopping. Yi Fang has some of the best quality teas in Boston (in my opinion). Located on Newbury, this place can be super packed depending when you're visiting. They have a wide variety of teas, milk teas, and even hot teas. I can definitely say this is a place that even older people would enjoy since the teas are not too sweet, but you can always adjust to your liking. They have hands down one of the best fruit teas, made with fresh fruit. I love this on a hot summer day as it is super refreshing and so good to have while walking on Newbury. Another favorite of mine is their wintermelon latte with boba. Subtly creamy and sweet, pairs well with the perfectly cooked, chewy boba!! They also offer snacks such as these cute boba filled pastries. I haven't had them but them smell amazing! Be sure to stop by!

Angela L.

Yelp
Best boba on the block! You can tell the fruit is fresh. Got the mango passion fruit tea, so delicious

Della S.

Yelp
I had an okay experience at their branch in Seattle so I was pleasantly surprised that this location is pretty good! Most drinks are around $5-6 before tax and tip, which is pretty representative of similar shops on Newbury St. I'd much rather come here though. I was surprised that they don't have classic milk tea (i.e. the kind made with nondairy creamer). Their tea lattes are made with whole milk or oat milk for a little bit extra. I tried the brown sugar pearl oolong latte ($5.75). Half the cup was filled with pearls! The pearls reminded me of the iconic brown sugar milk stand next to NTU in Taipei (iykyk). The tea part itself was not sweet so the brown sugar syrup balanced everything out. As others have mentioned, the tea flavor is strong and shines through. I could still taste the roastiness of the tea even though half of my cup was basically sugar and tapioca. The brown sugar pearl oolong latte made me feel super nostalgic. I'll keep my pockets stocked with lactaid and drop by whenever I get a brown sugar pearl latte craving!

Rachel W.

Yelp
Really lovely! Got the wintermelon black tea latte and it was so good. Also I like that they have the option to order by kiosk! Makes all the drink customization very simple.

Vivian C.

Yelp
Amazing boba and fruit tea! This tea shop has an amazing variety, with each drink fresh and delicious. Their service was welcoming, really nice, and helpful if you aren't sure what to get. I also like their cozy and modern ambiance! I love getting their mango pomelo sago, their watermelon coconut, or their Earl Grey latte with boba. Overall, my favorite boba shop and I highly recommend it!

Eda X.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I am very particular about my brown sugar black tea milk tea, and this milk tea shop didn't cut it. An ideal cup of milk tea for me is creamier and roaster with strong tea and brown sugar smeared down the sides of the cup as advertised. The reality cup I got was a thin flavored sugary milk drink. Although the oolong tea flavor did come through fragrantly, the viscosity of the tea was very thin. The boba balls are also very translucent and low quality in my person opinion.

Katrina W.

Yelp
We came here because of the reviews, but am disappointed to say that it was ok at best. I got the Brown Sugar Matcha Latte iced. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but this bubble tea just wasn't satisfying to drink. The bubble texture was also not anywhere near the better ones that I've had. My friends had some other drinks and most of them didn't like the flavors at all.

Michele M.

Yelp
This place just opened on newbury street! There's a soft opening right now and you can get 50% off drinks until Friday. They do have a limit of 2 drinks. Regular price for drinks are $5-6. I tried the brown sugar boba black tea and brown sugar boba oolong tea. They were both meh. There was not much tea flavor. On the other hand, the boba was very chewy and flavorful. I would come back to try some of their fruit teas, but I would not recommend the black tea/oolong tea.

Hursuong V.

Yelp
High quality boba that lives up to its name/reputation. Truly the ingredients tasted so fresh and there was no sense of anything artificial -- and the fact that this difference can be tasted says a lot! One star down because it is expensive though... $7 for a medium cup on average. Prime (but small) location on Newbury St. with steady traffic but they make the drinks incredibly fast. Was disappointed that they ran out of mango for the mango pomelo sago drink when I was there (1 hour until closing) but I still really enjoyed the taro green tea I got.

Sasi M.

Yelp
Amazing fruit tea. I usually get mine with 50% sugar and it was just right. The pearls are smaller than the ones you get in other shops, Ama I liked it so much better. They was a good amount of them, felt very soft and chewy, and didn't stick to your teeth. The fruits were fresh and the seeds added a nice crunch to it. Don't let the long line discourage you. They move pretty fast and service is spot on.

Trisha D.

Yelp
Ok boba but overpriced in my opinion. Could be because it's in a more expensive area and have limited customers. Got the Yifang Fruit Tea that was fine and hit the spot after not having boba for a while. There were big pieces of fruit in it as well. Nothing mind blowing. I cannot justify paying about $8 for this after tax+tip. The prices could be high because of the expensive real estate, and maybe they don't get enough walk-ins to offset the cost? They do have other slightly cheaper options for boba too. Service and ambience: friendly and cute store. There weren't many people there at the time. COVID precaution: employees were wearing masks. They need to wipe their iPad screen.
