"Yongkang has been around since 1963 and is known for its incredibly earthy beef noodle soup. Beef shanks are cooked in a deep broth of five-spice, star anise, and soy, creating a reddish-brown sheen — the result of hours of cooking. While beef noodle soup can be found throughout Taipei, Yong Kang stands out for its extremely heady seasonings. [$]" - Clarissa Wei

In terms of the full Taiwanese beef noodle soup cultural experience and taste, this is it! Options for spicy and non spicy, the perfect pulled noodles and texture, and the stewed beef bursting with flavour with rich broth with self select sides and pickled veggies on each table you add yourself, it’s and adventurous meal you have to line up for to get in. Super bustling and busy but fun. You can order extras like the steamed powder ribs and steamed pork intestines which were delicious. Some of the best beef noodle soups out there and portions are huge. It’s a simple set up for tables with stools like street eating style but indoors.

Authentic Taiwanese noodles. Michelin-recognition in 2020. The queue was reasonable. Took us about 25 minutes of waiting before seated. Thankfully, the noodles are worth the wait, as they give you that authentic Taiwanese taste. The broth had rich taste, and most of the beef were tender. The tendon was creamy and easily melted in my mouth blending well with the soup. Another interesting dish is the minced pork dry noodles. Very flavorful! Just make sure to mix the pork and noodles well to spread out the flavor. The interior is old-school, and adds to the experience. Feels like a family dining. My only constructive feedback is that the staff who was assigned to us was not as patient. There was also a lot of confusion with the order. They are putting pressure for you to order quickly, so it’s best if you will already pick your order prior to being seated. Also, price-wise, this is one of the more expensive noodles I had in Taiwan. Still, somehow worth the price. Overall, it is a great experience! I recommend the place!

Google
Taipei is renowned for its delicious beef noodles, and one particular place stands out for its exceptional offerings. The thick, chewy noodles provide a delightful texture that perfectly complements the rich, flavorful broth. Each spoonful is a savory delight, enhanced by the tender, succulent pieces of braised beef and tasty tendon. For those looking to elevate their experience, adding pickled tangy cabbage and chili oil introduces an exciting experience. Additionally, I had the chance to try the steamed spare ribs served with a rice powder—a unique culinary adventure that broadened my appreciation for the diverse tastes of Taiwanese cuisine.

Google
Personally i really liked this place. I ordered the half tendon half beef noodle soup. The beef was good, the tendon was better, the soup was good and soup was even better after I added the spicy oil into it. Their spicy oil is also pretty spicy so don’t go crazy. They also only take cash. Would definitely come back given the chance.

Google
There was a huge lineup and typically it’s always been good. They have two floors so it went by pretty quickly (20 min wait). We ordered the spicy beef noodle and some side dishes and drinks. Total cost was 1050 NTD. Definitely spicy to the point where it wasn’t edible and we can handle spice. It was just overwhelming. Portion size was reasonable. If you’re with kids, two large bowls is probably good for 4. My favourite side dishes was the eggplant. Good seasoning and soft. Noodle was good but not a place I would recommend to others.

Google
Famous place for beef noodle soup in around greater Taipei area. There are a variety of other types of noodles equally tasty. The retro-style atmosphere is a plus. We regret not ordering more of the small side dishes. The staff are friendly and offered help when ordering. A great place to grab a quick bite.

Google
No frills in & out kinda spot. Pacing is quick. Broth is viscous & flavorful. Meat is tender. Noodles have bite. Pretty packed.

Google
The note on the menu that side dishes are not free is clear, but needs better instructions on how to get the dishes. Put a note at the side dish stand instead of rudely telling off customers. The other servers were nice. The beef was very tender and soft! Noodles are on the chewier side. Soup is on the saltier side. Side dishes are just okay. Sauerkraut was okay, lacks flavour. $1070 for 4 people - 3 side dishes, 2 small noodles, 1 big. It’s not bad but I wouldn’t come again.

Yelp
This spot offers a rich, beefy broth with tender beef and tendon that make for an excellent beef noodle soup. Each table has a big bucket of pickled mustard greens, allowing you to add as much as you like to customize your soup. The side dishes are also a highlight. You can pick them out at a self-serve stand, and staff will portion them for you to bring back to your table. It's a very popular spot, so it fills up quickly--arrive early if you want to avoid waiting.

Coty S.

Yelp
I know that this is the most famous beef noodle shop in Taipei, but their beef noodle soup is actually my least favorite dish here. Why? Because the noodles are not good, not toothsome enough, not QQ, and cooked for an Olive Garden palette. I can see why their bamboo rice is becoming more popular here than the noodles. So just visit for the rice then. The Yongkang neighborhood has so many amazing restaurants, you can try a few and choose your favorites.

Yelp
Beef Noodle Soup is a mainstay in Taiwanese food in addition to XLB and Green Onion Pancake. Every person we talked to has a favorite Beef Noodle shop but will commonly mention Yong Kang for their visiting guests. Why? Good decent food that comes out quick, Management speaks English, enough old school ambiance (since 1963) to give you a feel of a different era - crowded tables, long lines, decent prices, and lots of beef and tendon (if desired - which Asian person doesn't like the collagen bomb of tenderly cooked tendon?). It's a gotta go to place when in Taipei and a point of reference when you start having more Beef Noodle elsewhere. Keep doing what you do Yong Kang and serve as an ambassador bellwether to Beef Noodle Soup.

Yelp
My favorite beef noodle soup that I had in Taiwan! We came on a weekday around noon and there was a short 20 minute wait because we got lucky that they opened the 2nd floor while we were in line and everyone got let in. :) My partner and I shared a large beef noodle soup and a cucumber appetizer because we wanted to try other foods in the area but it actually made us pretty full! The appetizers are all self serve and they had a ton of options like pig ear, tofu, wood ear mushroom, etc. You just grab what you want and they'll automatically add it to your bill when you check out. The noodles were the perfect thickness and had a great chew to it. This broth was a bit thicker/richer than other beef noodle soup spots and we loved the flavor! The beef and tendon was plentiful and tender and we'll definitely be back in the future!

Yelp
Yong Kang Beef Noodles is the most reviewed beef noodle soup restaurant on Yelp in Taipei. The restaurant was established in 1963 and earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction from 2018 to 2022. Apparently it is popular among Japanese tourists. [How to get here]: Approximately 2-minute walk from the Taipei MRT Dongmen (東門) station. [How to order]: I was able to get a table immediately at 6 PM on a weekday. The menu is English-friendly with pictures so customers can simply point to their choices on the menu when ordering. [Menu]: All noodle bowls are available in small or large sizes. For the beef noodle soup, I personally recommend opting for half tendon and half meat. If you're not a fan of spicy broth, then there's also a clear broth option available. Steamed hog sparerib is another one of their signature dishes. *** Steamed hog large intestines (粉蒸肥腸 - 150 NTD): Somehow I ended up ordering the pork intestines version instead of the spareribs. It was an interesting dish as it contained pumpkin. While the soft and gooey texture might not appeal to everyone, the flavor was good. Beware - this is a high-carb dish. Half Cattle Tendon and Half Beef Noodle (紅燒半筋半肉牛肉麵 - small, 300 NTD): This is the braised version and not the clear broth. The meat was absolutely 5-star worthy as meat pieces had melt-in-your-mouth texture. The broth was surprisingly not overly spicy and flavorful at the same time, The noodles and broth were above average overall. *** Worth a visit but manage your expectations - it is a solid & above-average beef noodle soup restaurant.

Yelp
Made a stop as it showed up on a lot of must-eat lists. Avoided the crowd by coming around 4. Got the beef tendon, braised beef and pork noodles. Small is plenty unless you are really hungry. Seating is tight so try not to bring too much. The beef noodle is listed as spicy, but it's a subtle heat at best. I might have come with too high of an expectation, but I was pretty disappointed by the beef noodle soup. The meat was tender, but the flavor profile of the broth and meat was a bit flat and one note. Wouldn't recommend going out of your way or waiting in line for it. If you're still hungry afterwards, head to Tian Jin Onion Pancake one street east for some solid

Yelp
We made it to the famous Yong Kang Beef Noodles on our last day in Taipei and we were happy that the wait was only ~15 min to get seated. We got a large beef noodle soup, spicy wontons, mixed dan dan noodles, steamed pork with rice, and a side of mustard greens to share. We definitely ordered too much for 2 people but wanted to try a variety of dishes and have a full meal here. I've heard mixed reviews about their beef noodle soup but surprisingly I really liked it. The meat was super tender and I loved how spicy and rich the broth was. I do think the broth wasn't as beefy and complex as some other well known spots but overall if you like stronger flavored soup, this works great. I also enjoyed the steamed pork, wontons and mixed pork noodles. We're glad we got the side of veggies as well to help balance out the meal. Pro-tip you order the sides separately near the main entrance and there's a large selection of veggies and side dishes to accompany the meal.

Yelp
No words needed, the best beef noodles in the world. Great side dishes and steamed pork ribs. Most highly recommended!

Yelp
Was told this is a really good beef noodle place from a relative. Came here with my family while visiting Taiwan. Got there at 2:30 and there was no line and was rated with a few minutes. We ordered 4 large beef noodle soup but only received 3. We didn't complain as they were so busy. Luckily we didn't order another one as one large was plenty for me and my sister to share. The pickled veggie on the table was pretty bland. Noodle was a bit hard. Beef was pretty tender. Soup was a bit too salty. Good overall was good but probably overhyped for me. A small restaurant. We had to share a table with other people but that was ok. Service was ok but quick.

Cecille W.

Yelp
I'm probably in the minority when it comes to Yong Kang but I thought it was just okay! We ordered the beef and tendon spicy noodle soup and the meat was a 5/5 - both beef and tendons were very tender. However, we felt that the broth was a little on the saltier side and I was disappointed by the noodles because they were not chewy at all. Other reviews that I've seen are pretty mixed so it might not be consistent. We also tried the side of the intestines which were pretty flavorful, but I wouldn't get it again if I went. Overall, although the meat was good, everything else was just mediocre. Definitely a touristy spot!

Yelp
If you want to skip the long lines, come at an odd hour. We came at 1:30pm and only waited for 5 minutes before being seated upstairs. They had us share a table with another party while I saw another big party get split into two small tables. They are just seating you the best they can however they can, so no big deal. We ordered two beef noodle soups (NT$310-350), but there was a bit of a mix up with our orders so one bowl seemed to come with vermicelli while the other one came with intestines, so we never got the classic beef noodle soup. Nonetheless, the noodle soups were still delicious and the tender and beef were so tender and juicy. We also ended up with a Dandan Noodle (NT$150) that we misordered, which was decent. I also really enjoyed the Steamed Large Intestines (NT$150), but note that this comes in a small portion. There are also sides (NT$40-60) you can choose from, which we picked up some cucumbers and dried anchovies. Overall, this one ended up being one of our pricier meals in Taiwan and I didn't get the right items, but it was still good. With so many beef noodle spots, you can't really go wrong in Taiwan though.

John M.

Yelp
It's just ok. Lots of hype around this place so wanted to give it a try. I say again, it's just ok. The soup base was pretty good, albeit salty as heck. There was some depth there, but you can tell they don't use as much beef bones in their stock as other places do. Their picked mustard greens were pretty sorry and plain, no zip or zing. Lastly their noodles, tasted like premade somewhere. No snap (QQ as the Taiwanese would say) to it at all. Reminiscent of spaghetti pasta. If you're in the area, give it a try for yourself and don't let this sway you too much. Beef noodle soup is a deeply personal thing in Taiwan and this just might be your style and speed. As for me, I'll hit the mom and pop food stalls with the high-glucosamine packed beef stock and hand cut noodles (and usually half the price of this place).

Yelp
Lunch for 4. - Ambiance (5*) Exactly what you want out of a hole in the wall Taiwanese restaurant. I would say it was exceedingly homey. - Service (4*) 15 min line at 2:45pm, but moved fast. A little forgetful, so you need to make sure they bring you everything you order. But the owner is super friendly. Efficient but not rushed. She spent time chatting with us as well. Also, there's a lady who's the expert bill mathematician. She stared at our plates for literally 3 seconds and gave a number. I get that there are only so many combinations and she probably sees them all day, but still!! - 大頭菜, 60 NTD (5*) Thin, crispy, perfect marinade. To be honest, I had never had it for some reason. Turns out it's kohlrabi and the good news is I've seen the vegetable in America. - 紅燒半筋半肉麵, Small, 300 NTD (4*) Beef and tendon were out of this world good. Noodles weren't the most Q, but they had a good texture. I wasn't wowed but enjoyed eating it. Slurped the broth. - Value (3*) It's a great bowl of beef noodle soup and I would return. But for Taiwan standards, it runs a little expensive. - Final Word Will be back for sure.

Yelp
This is one of Taipei's quintessential restaurants that has been a staple in the beef noodle soup scene for years. When we arrived for lunch on a Saturday, we were expecting a super long line, but to our delight and surprise, the line was not that bad (maybe about 10-12 people ahead of us). Fortunately, the line went by fast, and we were able to get a table of our own (during peak mealtimes you may have to share tables). Please be advised they only accept cash. We ordered two medium bowls of their signature Braised Beef Noodle Soup and a side of bean curd strips and mustard greens with bean curd sheet. The broth had a very soy sauce forward savory flavor. Their noodles are the thinner variety and were cooked perfectly. The beef was probably by far the most tender beef I've ever had in a beef noodle soup. It was so tender it just fell apart in my mouth, and I barely needed to chew. The side dishes were delicious and paired well with the noodles. Overall, the noodles were good, but the highlight of the dish was definitely their melt-in-your-mouth, fall apart tender beef. Service was fast and casual. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Karen L.

Yelp
It's been a minute. My original review is entirely accurate. For nostalgia's sake, we came by. What I would like to add is the pricing for this place! 300 for a small bowl or 330 for a large bowl. Where else in Taipei are they charging almost North American prices for a bowl of beef noodle soup?! Glad we shared a large bowl of beef and tendon noodles, the steamed pork with rice coating, and a small plate of cucumbers. Definitely a touristy place based on history and social media.

Joann C.

Yelp
This place is definitely a tourist attraction. Locals do not eat here. The wait is long and it's very cramped and squishy inside. Everyone is sweating. There is a communal bowl of pickled vegetable on each table. The food is ok. The menu is very limited. There are only 9 things on the menu + sides you can get from the fridge. Basically everyone gets the beef noodle soup with meat/tendon. I also tried their sesame noodle which I would recommend. Overall, I would only come here if it was after the lunch rush. I wouldn't want to wait in the heat for this.

Connie H.

Yelp
The beef noodle soup here hit the spot, but I'd have to say it didn't quite blow my mind. I had a bit higher expectations coming here. The noodle was good, thick and chewy. The broth was good and tasty. And the meat was so, so tender (the best part about this bowl of beef noodle soup). I ordered the half tendon, half meat bowl since I really like tendon. There was a LOT of huge pieces of tendon given, which is a plus, but I think the texture of the beef shined more for me here. I'd still go for the half and half though if I came back. All in all, it was a great meal and a great bowl of beef noodle soup, but I can't say it was THE best that I've ever had. I'll probably move on to the next beef noodle soup place on my list for our next visit to Taipei. Their beef noodle soup only had a spicy option, unfortunately for my kids who came to Taiwan to eat beef noodle soup. It might have been tolerable for my oldest one, but we ordered the plain noodle soup for our kids instead, and they enjoyed that. It wasn't exactly the same beef noodle soup anymore, but they enjoyed their noodle soup with beef. At the table, there was a shared bowl of pickled veggies to add in to your bowl. I added a bunch in. To be honest, I couldn't really tell the difference but it tasted good nonetheless. We ordered a few side dishes too which our table seemed to really enjoy as well. The space is very small and crowded, so be prepared to sit very close to other people. Everyone also sits on a stool. Strollers won't be able to enter this restaurant. We came at odd hours in between meal times. There was no line at the time, but the restaurant was full inside. Once we were done, there was a one line forming outside. Be sure to give yourself a little more time if you come at mealtime hours! The food comes quickly though after ordering.

Renny K.

Yelp
A great bowl of beef noodle soup, although extremely over-hyped. The line up is extremely long, filled with tourists, but I would say that if you have to wait more than 30 minutes, its not really worth it. Due to size limitations, you may be seated with others. If you're in the area, would definitely give it a try, although I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Anny L.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner for 2 on a Wednesday at 7pm, and had to wait because it was dinner rush. Got the spicy beef and tendon noodle soup along with stewed beef noodle soup. Both were just okay. The spicy soup leaned towards bún bò Huế for me, and less like Taiwanese beef noodle soup...the stewed beef noodle soup is pretty bland. We got that just because there were no non-spicy options of the beef noodle soup. I've had better beef noodle soup so I wouldn't consider coming here at all. Especially if there is any kind of wait. Overall food and service are very meh

James C.

Yelp
Ah yes, the famous Yong Kang Beef Noodle restaurant...Is it good? Yes. Is it worth a long wait? Maybe. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and I think it's worth trying at least once. The beef is very tender and the soup had good flavor. They also give a huge pot of sour mustard greens that you could pile in your bowl until your heart is content. However, I can't say that this was the best beef noodle soup I've had. There are options in the states that are just as good, if not better. I think Yong Kang is a bit overrated. I will highly recommend the spare ribs with rice power. That, I would say was very tasty! TIP: Their chili sauce is FIRE , and you can buy a jar of it for a few American dollars. Word of caution, it's really spicy so try it first at the restaurant before buying it.

Melissa P.

Yelp
One of the best spots for beef noodle soup in Taipei! No frills ambiance and super quick service, definitely a must for anyone locals and tourists alike. Priced super reasonably and be sure to ask for the 酸菜 to pair with the noodles. There are also a delicious assortment of self service side dishes for about $30 NTD a plate.

Lily T.

Yelp
Definitely a favorite stop of mine whenever I'm visiting Taipei. There's always a line but if you come during off hours. I waited about 10mins before we got seated. The must order is obviously the beef noodle soup. They provide huge chunks of beef and it's very affordable. It's a simple spot and they have photos of the food on the walls and you're not meant to linger there since there's always people waiting for a table.

W K.

Yelp
Food is tasty and inexpensive. Your jammed into a crowded dining area. If you're lucky you'll get a table to yourself, we were seated with two others. After food was delivered the check was handed which I did not appreciate

Jenn C.

Yelp
A solid 4.5 stars and our favorite beef noodle soup in Taipei! We arrived around 3:50pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait but we got the last empty seats. The restaurant is quite small and also use communal tables to other hole in the wall casual restaurants. We ordered their spareribs rice and the spicy beef noodle soup. Service was efficient - we received both orders within 5 minutes. We were super satisfied with both of them. The spareribs rice had very fragrant sticky rice and plentiful of minced meat bursting with flavor. The spicy beef noodles soup had melt in your mouth beef with good marbling and perfectly qq chewy thin noodles. Although I typically prefer wider flat noodles, I really enjoyed the texture and bite of these noodles. The soup was not too spicy so I was able to enjoy the broth without drinking water to cool down. It does have a strong 5-spice taste which can mask the beefiness of the broth. I highly recommend trying out Yong Kang if you're visiting Taipei! I will be back the next time I visit.

Nick P.

Yelp
Very touristy restaurant. Locals don't eat here. Inside is small and cramped. Service was okay. Food didn't live up to the hype, I was expecting something amazing to touch my tastebuds but sadly it left me much to desire.

Samantha C.

Yelp
When in Taiwan, eat all the beef noodles. So excited to try this place as it was recommended by so many and loved by many locals. For a party of 8, we were lucky enough to get our table, or otherwise, you might be seated next to strangers. We ordered beef noodle soup, steamed hog spareribs, steamed hog large intestines, and cold appetizers. I got my half tendon half beef and LOVED both. The beef was incredibly tender; you didn't need to chew. The tendon was also really good. The noodles were solid but not as memorable as the beef. But the most disappointing part was the broth, which I think is the most important part. The broth was light and didn't have enough of a punch as I would have liked it. Even my dad who was born in Taiwan was a bit disappointed. I'm guessing the hype was too high this time around. But all the side dishes we got were great. I would probably come back and try it again. The wait wasn't bad when we went and I'm always willing to give places a second chance especially if everyone raves about it.

Terrance P.

Yelp
This place is the bomb! My first beef noodles in Taiwan a week ago, although very good, is not at the level of this place. I can see why the long lines. But, it's fairly quick and the wait is not too long. People come in to eat then leave so the process doesn't take too long. There are two levels and luckily, we were sat on the second. They close the windows so you can feel the AC and this is a great thing on hot days, especially if you're eating a hot bowl of soup. They also have beer which was surprising to me. There are several side dishes at the counter to choose from. We had the cucumbers and eggplants and these were so refreshing. I had the beef and tendon option. The meat was so tender and savory. The tendons melted in your mouth. The broth had lots of herbs including lemongrass and packed with flavor. The noodles were sort of al dente which really made this oh so good. The tables are small and space is limited so be prepared to be bumped by others. The service is quick. I highly recommend as this is must on your list of places to eat.

Lydia H.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Our group of four waited for about 30 min before we were seated. We all got the famous beef noodle soup and loved every bite. I loved how chewy the noodles were and the broth was very tasty.

Katie A. O.

Yelp
a decent bowl of beef noodles and the line was long but moved fast. i ordered their signature beef noodles along with side dishes. experience was okay and so was the service.

Zach A.

Yelp
my mom is Taiwanese raised in Taiwan which makes me half Taiwanese as well. she's been going to this place since it was a food cart. I had the good luck of trying it for the first time this week. it kicks ass and is simply the truth. I laughed at the other reviews saying it's not authentic. the only critique of this place is the service. they're rude as hell and it just adds to the experience. loved it.

L L.

Yelp
This was recommended by our friends and did not disappoint. The line was not crazy around 7pm on a week night. There were a few varieties of beef noodle soup items and all were recommended by the other customers next to our table. Just a tip - you need to self serve (or fetch) your own side dishes and the sodas/beer near the front of the restaurant. Those are a must to go with your beef noodle soup. Recommended!

Woo T.

Yelp
Found this place based on other recs. This place is the truth. This is the beef noodle soup dish I was looking for. Only minor criticism is could have slightly more spiciness in the hong shao. Clear broth is lame, as an aside. Good amount of beef chunks, very tender. Noodle quality is legit. And broth very yummy. I didn't have to wait at like 7:30 pm fortunately. I get why this place is so well regarded. It is the best I have had in quite some time.

Phil A. Mignon ..

Yelp
This place was amazing. I am a large man because I like to eat. Especially beef. And the beef noodles here were some of the best beef noodles. When I walked in with my friend AC, we were greeted warmly. Like we are family. We call her AC because she is cool. Like air conditioning. Anyways I decided to order food from the menu. I got some beef noodles and some cucumber salad to keep things healthy. The noodles were delicious. Like you would not believe. Like you would not believe. After our meal, some people on the street stopped wanting to take selfies with AC and me. They told me they thought I was a sumo wrestler. I'm not Japanese but I took it as a compliment. Because I am a large man. I will be back for sure because the food was amazing. Thank you.

Alan B.

Yelp
I was forewarned about the long lines, but I was not made aware of the humidity and heat of July. I say that because I walked here from the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall only 750 meters away and by the time I got in line at 10:50am I was drenched in sweat and lost 5 lbs of water weight. But I'm proud to say that I recovered well with a bowl of the braised beef noodle soup and spicy dumplings along with copious amounts of water. Being seated by myself made the wait quick and my first slurp of broth was intense. That flavor packs a punch and the beef just disintegrates in your mouth with no effort. It's as if the beef was just holding it's shape just long enough to rest on your tounge and then release all of its life and flavor. The spicy dumplings were satisfying and I enjoyed the contrast of flavors from the bowl of noodles. What I loved about this place was how efficient they were and how it felt like you were eating at a family gathering of your long lost Taiwanese cousins.

Dee H.

Yelp
Had to try beef noodle soup at least once and this was the place to go. Amazingly fast and friendly service, family run. About $8-9 USD for a bowl full of everything I've ever needed.

David T.

Yelp
A go-to beef noodle soup place for me after I was introduced to this shop by my parents when I was younger. This shop is pretty popular, so expect a wait most of the time. I like the flavor of their broth, though it's a tad too oily for my liking, and their beef is tender and flavorful. I do wish they used different/thicker noodles, but this is a reliable shop I always take people to or recommend to friends who are visiting Taiwan.

Roger T.

Yelp
Line is long, although is well known, overpriced compared to other beef noodle restaurants, portion is acceptable, favor is more stands out. Service is so so and always shared tables and cramped.

Yelp
Definitely a must try if you ever visit Taipei, Taiwan. It brings nostalgia for me and my children said it was the best by far with all the beef noodle stew they have tried. There's definitely a wait out in the street, the shop is a mom and pop shop with over that's been in bushings since the 60's I think. Wish we have a place like this in the states

Yelp
This place was a surprise. It didn't look like much from the outside. Just a typical mom and pop noodle shop. But the prices were reasonable, the portions were ample, and the food quality was excellent. Highly recommend.

Yelp
i had the steamhog spareribs and spicy dumpling. the food was inexpensive and fresh. there is a long queue to be seated (approximately 20 mins for us). the place is busy and lively. my friends had beef noodles and they loved it. the meat was tender and delicious.

Yelp
overhyped. rundown, dirty. poor service. food isn't even good. 餐飲環境不乾淨 服務態度差 要求6位坐4位桌 牛肉麵也沒有好吃到哪裡 整間餐廳連牆壁都油煙髒氣 there are better beef stew noodles out there that provides a better overall experience. tourist trap. this one is worth the skip.

Yelp
Best beef noodle soup in the world! Also you can order side dishes like tofu, seaweed, etc! Delicious! However , space are tight and long line during lunch hour but worth the wait! I came here as a child so it brings back me memory of the flavor!' Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Long line but don't be intimidated because it goes relatively fast since most small parties share larger tables. Waited about 15 minutes for 3 people. Everything looks very delicious I almost wanted to order every single item on the menu. Especially the side dishes available in the corner, it all looked so good. They have all sorts of pickled vegetables. Personal favorite had to be the eggplant and the cucumbers. I think they charge by the plate, but everything was so cheap, I don't even think it broke the bank. Spicy Dumplings were okay here. I like the ones at DTF better. Yong Kang Beef Tendon Noodle Soup is a staple and a favorite. Dan Dan Noodles are okay. The steamed pork dim sum dish was delicious. Must visit when you're here in Taiwan!! Loved it!

Yelp
永康牛肉麵 (Yong-Kang Beef Noodle) is a classic and a must eat if you ever visit Taipei. They've been selling Taiwanese beef noodle soup for almost 60 years and every bite of their beef and tendon just melts in your mouth. Their noodles are the perfect level of firmness and there's just something about their broth that makes their beef noodle soup taste more special compared to other places. Also got their 紅油抄手 which was cooked to perfection. Lots of side dishes to pick from as well!

Yelp
Beef noodle soup is a must in Taiwan! Yong Kang is quite popular and often with a line outside. The line was long when we got there for early dinner, but we were lucky to be seated quickly since there were only two of us. We ordered the braised beef noodles, so good! The broth is flavorful and the beef is very tender. There are large bowls of pickled vegetables passed around the tables for people to add to their dishes. We also had their spicy intestine, which was cooked with rice. Very interesting dish!

Yelp
Noodle soup done right is hard to come by. I've been to many places for beef noodle soup and this is by far the best one I've had. Their broth was light and full of flavor, beef was extremely tender and lastly their noodles were perfect. Everything was very fresh. Each table has pickled veggies and vinegar. We came in the afternoon on a Saturday and did not have to wait for a seat. However, I've read that during lunch hours this place can be packed and lines out the door but turn over rate is high. They are cash only also and service is very fast!

Yelp
Ordered a beef noodle and dumpling. Taste are good and staff are efficient. Restaurant were crowded even at 2pm.

Yelp
Delicious! We ordered the half beef and half tendon along with the intestine rice. The intestines melt in our mouths! What a pleasant surprise! I was expecting something chewy but the intestines were so soft and the flavor was the best I've ever had. They serve the beef noodles with thin noodles, which wasn't anything spectacular. However, the broth paired with the chunky pieces of meat and tendon are amazing! Grab your own drinks in the back and pay at the end! We felt welcomed and the service was fast and friendly! 5 stars well deserved!

Yelp
Was finally able to check this place out on the last day of my trip to Taiwan. My co-worker recommended this place to me since it apparently has the best beef noodles in Taipei. The place is only OK. The best part about Yong Kang is that the beef noodles are pretty good. Their menu is pretty small so I guess they put a lot of focus into these dishes. The beef is tender and the noodles are tasty. I think they asked me if I wanted it spicy and I said yes... but wasn't really that spicy in my opinion. Still a pretty great meal and for a pretty low cost too. A lot of the drawbacks to Yong Kang comes from its status as a tourist spot. You are certain to wait in a queue and the place is really crowded once you get inside. It doesn't help that this place is strangely a "grab your own drinks" from their fridge in the front type of place. With so many people inside and since they already have waiters serving food I am not sure why the staff doesn't reduce traffic by giving you your drinks. Yong Kang is nice but I feel like you can also get great beef noodles in other lesser known spots in Taipei if you look hard enough. Around Taipei Main Station I remember there are a lot of good places to eat beef noodle soup as well. You don't have to go through the touristy crowds either.
