Real review; NOT your fake, 'first to review' BS.
Happy to be back at Waldorf Astoria.
La Chine was one of my favorite restaurants in NYC before the hotel closed for renovation.
The 13-course, reasonably-priced ($188) Kaiseki from Chef Ry Nitzkowski (formerly of Momofuku, Shuko and Mr. Moto) was wonderful, delicious and beautifully presented. Not your traditional kaiseki, but love Chef Nitzkowski's interpretation of my favorite type of cuisine with influences from Shuko and Momofuku. See pics.

But, what is up with having the restaurant in an open space, the hotel lobby, right by one of the main entrances with all the people walking in and out? Not the ambiance of a high-end Japanese restaurant. A restaurant of this caliber should be housed in an enclosed setting. A counter, while watching the chefs prepare the courses, would be the ideal setting.
Will back soon to try their a la carte menu.
Service - wonderful.
