Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings

"The original Yuki is a handroll bar near Bee Caves that we like a lot, and now they’ve expanded with a second location close to Lake Travis. Much like the original spot, you’ll have the option of ordering a la carte or from a series of set menus consisting of three to seven handrolls (plus nigiri).  " - nicolai mccrary

Great sashimi. Not much a fan of the hand rolls or nigiri only because I am not able to consume white starch. Amazing big slices of fresh tuna, yellowtail and salmon. I was full! The clam miso hit the spot for me. The edamame was served best that I expected, peeled and more fresh in my palate. The server was nice, although he was the only one but good thing the ratio was good enough. No booths, just high bars. I think I’d prefer booths though I think it’s a sushi bar thing, the squat tables I still prefer. Not too comfy, though I like that they have hooks for purses under the table. The sushi bar—-though unable to understand us, the server was always ready to translate. The food quality was worth the price. I’d say for sashimi—-highly recommended!

We've been here a few times. Initially we went here for the hands rolls well because it's a hand roll bar and we ended up trying the nigiri. The first time I had the nigiri, I was blown away by the size of the nigiri and the flavor. Yes, traditionally sushi is supposed to be a one bite thing but the pleasure of eating these humongous pieces of sushi in 2 bites is very different. Every nigiri has this tiny garnish on it, which in my opinion adds to the deliciousness of the entire sushi. The other thing here is their rice has seaweed in it. I might be wrong but I think they toast the seaweed to give it another layer of flavor which really works for me. My favorites are the chu toro and the wagyu nigiri.

If you are a lover of sushi and raw food, this is the right place to go eat. Everything is so good and delicious; freshly prepare at the moment. I highly recommend Yuki Handroll bar!

We were very pleased with our shaggy dog, dragon, and tuna rolls this Sunday at Yuki sushi bar near Home Depot where Nik’s used to be. It’s very chill at the bar but FYI there is no table seating.

Google
Yuki Sushi is amazing. The fish is super fresh, the rolls are flavorful, and everything is really well made. You can tell they care about the quality. I’ve been a few times now and it’s consistently great. The service is friendly and the vibe is relaxed—perfect for a casual dinner or date night. Definitely one of my go-to spots for sushi. Highly recommend!

Google
Five stars all the way! I recently visited Yuki handroll bar and must say, it was an exceptional dining experience. I don’t usually right reviews but this is seriously one of my favorite spots to eat fresh sushi. The sushi itself was out of this world! As a sushi lover who frequents various higher-end spots in Austin, I was pleasantly surprised by Yuki. The sushi rice was amazing and the texture of the sushi is excellent. Even the green tea mochi ice cream for dessert was the best I've had in Austin. To top it off, the prices are reasonable for the quality you’re getting, and I left feeling like I had discovered a hidden gem. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly after ordering, which made it even more satisfying. Highly recommend trying it out! I will definitely come back here again.

Finally got to try Yuki Austin first hand roll bar. I ordered the 4 roll combo. It was good, fish was fresh but didn’t stand out for me. The sushi rice is different but couldn’t really taste much difference, fish was nice and fresh. Wasn’t like wow but just ok. The rolls itself, some were small some were good size. 4 rolls didn’t make me full at all. Service was great though, and nice bar feeling.

Google
10000/10 will definitely go again and again and again and again.... I am in love with hand roll bars and was so excited to try Yuki! The quality is amazing. The fish is very well complimented with the flavor of the fish still shining. The servers were very attentive. It's a little pricey but it's well worth the experience and the quality. Must try!

Yelp
Came here for lunch right around opening on a Saturday. We were the only people there for the duration of our stay, which wasn't a surprise for 11am I'd been to their location and definitely like the setup here better. More seating and an overall more welcoming vibe. The staff was very friendly, but I was seeing it at an easy time so it would be a huge red flag if they weren't I went for the 5 roll combo and a natto roll from the specials menu. As a crab over lobster person I was surprised to find the lobster roll was my clear favorite! I really like the natto roll, but for $15 I'd only try it once. It's a polarizing flavor and texture, so I'd maybe steer clear of that one if you haven't had natto before If you live in Austin and enjoy sushi this is an absolute must. We're starved for handrolls as a city and this is the only spot that satisfies the craving. If you're visiting Austin, especially if it's from somewhere quality handrolls are readily available, it's probably skippable. The quality doesn't quite stand up to similar places I've visited in other cities

Yelp
I like the way Yuki rolls! In a city that lacks handroll options, I'm pleased to see that Yuki's seconds location is in the north end and still maintains the same level of quality. There's a decent amount of seating at the bar where you can watch the sushi chefs at work. You can order individual handroll or you can get a 3, 4 or 5 handroll set, which is a better value. Once I placed my order, the handrolls seemed to arrive pretty quickly. All in all, it was a great experience and definitely plan on returning.

Yelp
A welcome addition to the neighborhood im the old Nik's Italian building The first thing you notice is how the restaurant is mostly stool seating around the meal prep area where you see the chefs at work. In addition to hand rolls they have sushi, nigiri, a few appetizers, and.dessert. My suhi and handrolls were very tasty and fresh. The waiter was friendly and very helpful.

Yelp
We had a lovely date here on Friday right when the doors opened at 11 am. I don't think my six and three years old would be able to come because of the seating layout. Many of my neighborhood moms raved about their hand rolls so to support the business, it was a must to pop in for a visit. Kevin made sure we knew what we were doing and was friendly and helpful the entire time. Other staff also checked on us periodically to make sure we had a great experience. Anyway, once we marked our order on the laminated sheet, they started working. We were never rushed and they would actually check every so often to see if we finished our food before making the next roll. I ordered 3 hand rolls (scallop, crab, and yellowtail) plus the anago special to share with my husband and felt quite full. The scallop and crab handrolls were nice but the seasoning made it a little hard to taste the ingredients. The presentation of the anago was amazing and fun. However they're on the sweeter side and we're more into traditional presentations. We were well taken care of by the staff. We sat in at 11 am and left at 11:30am sharp. It's an appropriate place to grab a quick fancy lunch during the weekday. Come give them a try and support. We need more businesses here!

Yelp
Didn't get any hand rolls at the restaurant but decided to order regular sushi rolls for delivery. Packaging was beautiful (wood) and the many different rolls we tried (salmon and cucumber, spicy California, dragon, avocado cucumber, etc) were all fresh and tasty, although on the sloppy side - half of the pieces fell apart once we picked them up - but overall, taste wise, absolutely worth it. Rice was perfect texture. Really looking forward to dining in.

Yelp
Great little place for some generously sized ngiri and temaki. You have to be a proper sushi lover, not the douse everything with mayo, avocado and soy sauce type. Not a giant menu but they have some good selection of fresh fishes including kanpachi, chu toro... Hard to tell from pics but each of those ngiri is 2 regularly sized ones at any other place. Even though not one of our top favorite sushi places in Austin I am grateful for it since it's so close to where we live, and we don't have to drive to central Austin or downtown to quell our sushi cravings!

Yelp
Walked in and greeted with a cheerful hello. We were explained the menu and specials. Hand rolls were suggested as was nigiri. Large portions!! Definitely recommend. .

Yelp
Good quality sushi! Sure it's expensive but honestly I really enjoyed the handrolls. One word of caution, this is not a restaurant designed for kids or group conversation. This is a stool at the bar with nice atmosphere vibe. You are served directly from the chef one dish at a time which leads to good pacing. Each handroll came quickly and again tasted great. I don't think this place will work for everyone but it was unique enough that I feel enough people will like it and when I'm in the mood I too will be back.

Yelp
The taste of food is a bit sweet to me, over powder the freshness of fish so i cat really taste the fish. But i don't dislike the seasoning, my spouse on the other hand don't really like it, she prefer high end sushi flavor that emphasizes freshness of fish. 3.5 star will be more like it.

Federico S.

Yelp
Place is mostly stools sitting around the kitchen area where the chefs are cooking in front of you. I like the concept as well I loved their rolls.

Eric N.

Yelp
Good food, solid traditional rolls. Would like to see a spicy tuna on there but I understand that's not what they are going for.

Yelp
Dropped in for lunch today. Nick took great care to explain the menu, portion sizes, and walked me through some different order combinations. Excellent service. Had 2 hand rolls and the nigiri, portion sizes are great. The inside of Yuki is set up to look like you're in a small sushi bar in Japan looking out onto the street. Cozy atmosphere. The sushi roll chef is also kind and great, but I didn't catch her name. Have already made plans to come back.

Yelp
We're biased because Nik's was one of our favorite restaurants... we were trying to be optimistic about the new business in its place but unfortunately it was a let down. The ambiance was super awkward. The menu is very small and plain.... Not to mention expensive! The rolls we got were below average. No iced tea available. I'm calling it now, the business won't last.

Yelp
Outstanding! Portions were HUGE, wine was great. Like 3 pieces of sashimi rolled in to one!! Nick, our server was terrific. Thoroughly enjoyed this once.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal at Yuki Handroll Bar. The wait for a seat at the bar wasn't long (less than the 30 minutes they estimated). The rolls were fresh and delicious.
