"From light, vibrant sushi and sashimi to steaming bowls of ramen, Yume is a prime stop for warm and cold weather. Grab a signature cocktail at the bar (a wait is inevitable on the weekends, as is squeezing into street parking) and plan for a seaweed salad starter once the table is ready." - Katie Toussaint

The food was absolutely exquisite!! Wow!! This was my first time visiting. My date took me here to show me his favorite spot! I am so impressed with everything! The sushi was so fresh and tasty, I love the portion sizes, so many places skimp on the amount of sushi they give and this place does not do that; I left with lunch for the next day, which is exactly what I needed! The drinks were phenomenal as well, perfectly crafted and unique! My favorite was the pink one with the purple sweet potato Puree! The service was perfect. Our waitress was so sweet and had the best personality, someone I could even see myself hanging out with as a friend! That's how at home she made me feel - I wish I could have her every time as a server even though I'm sure the rest of the wait staff is just as great! I do not remember her name, but she was a pretty brunette with a warm smile and kind eyes, a very sweet person, which is a big deal to me! She really set us up perfectly, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves! The sushi chefs knew exactly what they were doing, I could tell they were working so hard and were very professional! The setting and music were enchanting and dreamy, just what I needed for a relaxing evening with my date, the playlist, and the lighting are top-notch! Just what I needed to wind down with my man after a much needed break for a mothers day outing! I hope to come back very soon, I already asked him if we could visit again sooner than later! 😍😍🥰🥰🤩🤩

Best sushi I have had in Charlotte! The service was amazing! Sadly, I forgot our waiter’s name, but he was great! I have been to at least 5-10 sushi places since being here and this blew them all out of the water. Huge menu, fresh fish, and lots of great options other than sushi.

First time here, we love Japanese food and their menu is extensive. They have a sushi bar and a regular drink bar with beer, sake and cocktails. Their sake selections were many, next time we will try sake. We just got a few appetizers to share. My favorite, which was a unique take on edamame had black garlic oil and salt, messy but so good. Zac was a friendly server and gave us great recommendations and conversation. We will definitely come back and try more things on the menu.

Everything was absolutely delicious and service was amazing from start to finish. Have come to eat here twice within the last 2 weeks because the food is definitely worth the price! Definitely my new favorite ramen spot 😋

Google
We ordered soup and sushi and it was sooo good. The menu has lots of options, the staff was very nice and attentive and the atmosphere was very lively and inviting. Great for family or date night. We will definitely dine in again when visiting Charlotte.

Google
We sat at at bar and split 3 appetizers. The edamame with black garlic was awesome. We got spring rolls and gyoza (dumplings). Zac our bartender was friendly and helpful as we have never beer here before. They do have parking. Good beer selection on tap.

Google
Chicken katsu don was delicious, I got some sesame chili oil and spicy mayo on the side to give some heat. Takoyaki was delicious as well, well filled with cubes of octopus. Brandon was an awesome help as my waiter!

Another great Sushi Restaurant in Charlotte !! Although we got there only (30) m prior to closing the vibe was so cool, cozy and best service ever. Menu extensive with Sushi and many many other complimentary dishes. A great and artistic vibe with huge windows to the street. We loved it and will be back soon !! We were waiting for ‘take-out’ …

Yelp
I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place yet as many times as I've been back. Top-notch ramen, and I've had three different ones here so far. Everything in the bowl comes together well (sans the corn; I still don't get that) and there's plenty of it for the price. The atmosphere is great as well; quieter music over darker colors and lower light makes this a great place to get a meal if you're looking to relax. My one complaint: either the seats are low or the tables are high, but it's a bit uncomfortable to sit down and have some great ramen. I haven't had this happen elsewhere, so it's not me being built funny.

John C.

Yelp
My wife and I went there for lunch and we had one bowl of black garlic ramen and Chirashi don. The ramen consistency and broth were good. However, I was not happy that they charged me $1 extra for med hot spicy. When they served us the Chirashi, it looked like a poke bowl so they replaced it with more appropriate Chirashi. The sashimi pieces were ok, however the rice was over seasoned . Conclusion: good ramen restaurant, for chirashi you better go to Musashi.

Yelp
Yume Ramen and Sushi Bar is a gem in Charlotte! My family and I absolutely love this place and visit frequently. Perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The service has been friendly and we have had no issues. The Chicken Katsu here is some of the best I've ever had--crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. It's a must-try if you visit. The ramen options are also fantastic, especially the Shio Tori Chicken Ramen and the Fermented Black Garlic Ramen.. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for delicious ramen, sushi, and an overall great dining experience.

Brittany D.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised with this place and it's a nice touch they have a happy hour food menu! Only reason we didn't give 5 stars was our server, she just seemed like she couldn't be bothered with us. But we would definitely go back for the food alone.

Cecelia H.

Yelp
Yume is a great spot if you're in the area and craving some good ramen! Their sushi is fantastic and I also love their pork bao buns. I would definitely recommend if you are in the South End area.

Cheryl D.

Yelp
Yume is a dining experience. They have an extensive menu of authentic Japanese cuisine. The mood is casual and open to being festive. I went for lunch with my family and it did not let us down. Our waiter was able to answer any questions we had about our selections. The ramen was absolutely delicious! I had it with spicy miso which I recommend. The rice bowl was a favorite at our table. The green tea cheesecake was different, yet still good. Parking is tight and you might have to get creative, as there are a few venues around the area that are popular as well. Service was above and beyond and we even got to speak with the chef who is passionate about his offerings and wanted to ensure that our meal was exceptional. I have found my new go-to spot for ramen!

Zong Shia Y.

Yelp
This is our second time at Yume and their sushi is fresh and delicious as always. Our waiter (I forgot his name, but I remember he had glasses), he was so sweet and very fast and efficient. Their blue fin tuna was absolutely delicious and it just melts in your mouth. The Ume roll was extremely filling and their sashimi delux was BEAUTIFUL. Every cut in that bowl was buttery and just melts in your mouth. The uni and eggs were so sweet, I loved how I could break every little one. There was plenty of sashimi and the rolls were all proportionate. Will most def be coming back.

Yelp
Went back to our favorite spot for sushi today for Mother's Day. My wife favorite sushi spot in Charlotte. The staff is amazing and the owners are wonderful. The food is always perfect! The fish is fresh and taste delicious! Make sure to get the oysters. They were amazing sauces perfect and taste like a summers day on the beach! They have plenty of mix drinks to help you set the mode. My wife's favorite is ube sawa! Perfect place for a date night or just to enjoy a great Japanese dinner!

Aleksandr K.

Yelp
I want to wright a review especially after reading all other one star reviews. Our experience was wonderful. The food came on time, not too long not too slow. Esthetics and presentation was great. You can see it on the pictures. Stuff was gentle and very professional as our waitress memorized the whole order of 7 -8 different dishes. Place was clean and cozy. Interior made in a classy dark colors. So I wish I have something to say negative but I got nothing. The prices aren't exactly the lowest but I was ready to pay it.

Anthony W.

Yelp
This was a really nice place to eat for lunch. We got Oysters, Yume Spoons, Yuki Cucumber Wrap, Chubby Toro, and the Regular Thai Coconut Curry Ramen. The oysters were good but very sweet. They did taste fresh but we prefer saltier oysters. The Yuki Cucumber Wrap and Chubby Toro were really good, but the Yume Spoons blew my mind. They were so good, I wish I could afford to get 4 more orders of those. The Thai Coconut Curry Ramen was also amazing. I'd definitely recommend eating here if you're in town. Our server Karla was also incredibly attentive and helpful.

Winston C.

Yelp
Ordered to-go from this place and think the sushi was really fair given the price. Granted there's not much around the area so can seem undesirable to go. The sushi was good though so I'd go back but bring my own soy sauce (see below). The move I'd suggest is to get the food to-go and then you can chill and hang with friends with a nice beer at the brewery nearby called HopFly Brewing. Totally okay with outside food and can be a chiller time with some games and friends or a different place to eat your takeout. One major downside was that the soy sauce they gave for takeout was too salty meant for more like Chinese style food rather than sushi. It really distracted and took away from the meal given the contrast.

Yelp
Did I just find my new favorite ramen spot in CLT? Maybe... Saturday night and no reservation. We sat at the bar and ordered flights of sake. I ordered the fries as well as a starter. I ordered the tonkatsu garlic ramen and my friend ordered the curry ramen. The sake flight was delicious. Lychee was my favorite for sure! The fries were... not amazing. That's why I took the star off. The flavoring was delicious but the fries tasted like frozen fries. Ramen was great. Amazing flavor, lots of toppings. My friend loved her curry ramen. Bar service was amazing. The bartender was lovely and all the workers were hilarious. Great music, ambience, and loved the decor.

Janelle B.

Yelp
You might have to pay for parking depending on the day. When we walked in the host greeted and took us to our table. The decor was decent (not content worthy) but it was very clean. First of all I want to give a shot out to our waiter Kire! He provided great service by providing suggestions from the drink menu down to the food. My daughter ordered a bottled drink and I order a mojito (it was ok). We shared two sushi rolls, wings, dumplings, and my daughter wanted their ice cream. We enjoyed everything. We would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Yume is good, but in my opinion...not the best for vegetarians. My husband and I had gotten here spontaneously on a Friday night around 730 with no reservations. Now, we are 100% reservation type of people but not when holding a reservation requires a card & cancellation fee (if you have to cancel last min). We decided to take the risk and going without a reservation and ended up having to wait an hour. I had a very light lunch that day so by the time we were mid-way waiting, I was STARVING. Anyways, I'm not lucky so we had to wait the full 1 hour that the hostess advised us (some places, tables turn up before the full hour). After we were seated, my husband and I put in our entire order because we had an hour to look at the menu. We ordered 2 sakes as well, but they came out pretty late and we were stuck having to chug these things. There aren't enough vegetarian rolls at all. I ordered an avocado mango cream cheese roll, which was standard and nothing special about it. They do a have a vegan ramen on the menu as well, but it was a tomato sauce broth, and personally, I don't like that. I was expecting a Jinya type of vegan broth (mushroom based). Overall, time well spent but don't recommend for vegetarians. If you eat meat, then this is the spot for you. My husband loved all of his apps and sushi rolls (all of which were some type of fish).

Roma A.

Yelp
One of my favorite sushi spots in Charlotte, and it has parking! The happy hour is an unbelievable deal, highly recommend making a reservation for it as place can fill up quickly but service still remains great every visit. The Naomi roll, ume roll, black garlic edamame, veg gyoza, and sashimi are my favorites there. They also have great drink specials daily! I'm not much for their cocktails, but do love the sake and wine selections.

Yelp
Finally!!! A sushi place worth going too. We moved to South Carolina from Northern California in August 2022 and we have been craving sushi ever since. We had been to a few but just not satisfying. I heard about this place from someone i met who had also moved here from Northern California ( small world). This place was great, loved the decor and the seating. They have a great drink menu with flights, bottles, craft beer and more. Great sushi roll selection and appetizers. All of our food was delicious, every roll had its unique flavor and characteristic, and they made our mouths water. They each had great flavor and a unique spice. The down side is we have to drive 50 minutes to get there, but it will make a great date night spot. Highly recommend and cannot wait to go back. The service was great, they were all very helpful, and when we told them we were from out of town, they gave us a few more Asian restaurant suggestion. Great place.

Cecillia A.

Yelp
Me and my friend went during happy hour and it was amazing. I love that they had a lot of options to chose from. The menu is pretty big and you can never go wrong. The service is nice. They are attentive. The ambiance is nice too. Pretty spacious. The food is great and I will be coming back.

Debora B.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant today with my son and ordered the lobster roll, which tasted like it was spoiled. We called the waitress, Sara, who took the plate but didn't offer an alternative or update on the situation. To top it off, I was charged $27 for the lobster roll we did not eat and she took it back! When I saw the check and called her for an explantion she got rude and then said that they charge for a plate even if you did not eat. As if that wasn't enough, I was charged for extra ginger that arrived while I was already paying and leaving. When I sent an email to complain, the owner accused me of racism, claiming that Sara's Hispanic background and the fact that it is an Asian restaurant made my complaint invalid. Little did she know I'm Hispanic too and have dined there several times with my family! This whole experience was unacceptable.

Rob D.

Yelp
Always excited about trying a Ramen restaurant. We looked at the menu and were off to Yume. My first impression was that this was going to be good. Really cool atmosphere and couldn't wait to try the food. We ordered the Tonkatsu Donburri and the Tonkatsu Ramen. About halfway through the meal, we both looked up and gave the "it's ok" look. Service was pretty good. They were busy and I thought that they did a good job. Overall I thought that the experience was adequate, but honestly not worth the price of admission.

Diana D.

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite ramen spot in this next of the woods.. (my other favs are sheng in ballantyne and roppongi in matthews). Their black garlic ramen is *chefs kiss*. The portion is perfect for the price you pay and the quality of the ramen and ingredients used are amazing. Love this spot! Overall: 4.7/5 When: Friday 6:30pm, walk in wait list Food: 4.9/5 - i got the black garlic ramen and mannnn this ish is goooood. The pork chasu is delicious and they give you a few decently sized pieces unlike other ramen places that skimp out on their protein. The soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked and had a delicious soy sauce flavor.. yum i could eat 10 of those with my ramen!!! I could go on and on about their black garlic ramen. Each ingredient in that bowl complements each other so well. The ramen noodles were chewy and cooked to perfection as well. Trust me... this bowl will leave you full and satisfied. I even had a lot of leftovers too! My friend got the chicken shio ramen and he said it was delicious as well. The menu was also very large and had some specialty sushi/sashimi dishes that I'd love to try next time I'm there. Service: 4.7/5 - so we got on the waitlist ahead of time and when we arrived we were 2nd on the list. After arriving, we were quoted another 20 minutes which okay.. NBD. However, we ended up waiting about 40 minutes for seats at the bar. They had a lot of reservations so it was quite heart wrenching everytime we saw someone getting seated before us... but we totally understood why. My only suggestion is to maybe set a few more seats aside for walk ins so that the wait on the list isn't so long. The bartender, a young blonde, was super energetic and sweet and had the best attitude. Great service all around from her... every service member should be like her! No matter how busy she was, she was still attentive and happy :) Vibes: 4.7/5 - place was poppin on a friday evening for dinner. Great place for a date or dinner with friends or even alone! Saw a lot of birthday group dinners there too. Not a huge restaurant, but not small either. Other: free small surface lot next to their entrance door. However, it fills up quick. You'll most likely have to find street parallel parking nearby.

Erin S.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Grabbed some ramen to go and loved it at home. Everything was packaged so well. So glad to have been introduced to this place. 2nd time back and can't wait to return.

Ginny G.

Yelp
Huge huge fan. Ramen bowls were amazing. Don't ask me what we got but all four of us had something different and were incredibly satisfied. Service was fantastic. Ambiance was what you'd expect in a nice Asian restaurant. Will be back.

Jackie L.

Yelp
Yume is a small sushi spot in south end. We went for happy hour which is 4-6:30 MW-Fr. I was very disappointed by how small the portions were for a "discounted" price...you basically get one bite for a couple dollar discount of the appetizers which is a bit ridiculous. The sushi roll prices were decent but only for a portion of the sushi menu as choices. Not the best sushi in town, but good enough if you're craving sushi. They acted like you need a reservation for a table, so I'd recommend doing that. We sat at the bar which was fine. They have half off house wine during happy hour but only by the bottle. You can't get a glass.

Meredith K.

Yelp
I came in to sit at the bar for dinner recently and ordered a few rolls and drinks. The drink I had was some sort of cucumber basil combo and it was a 10/10. Each roll I ordered was great too! The waitress was fantastic, super bubbly, and attentive. The ambiance in the restaurant was nice as well with dim lighting! This is a great spot for a date!

Tim P.

Yelp
Overpriced food. The curry ramen was pretty bland but would be my pick. The owner calls towing company that will charge you $450 accepts cash or Apple Pay only. Willing to bet the owner takes a piece of that $450. It's a scam and the business owners are in on it.

Rachel P.

Yelp
I've rarely been so underwhelmed and disappointed at this price point. Visited as a group of 4 for a birthday and kept hoping the experience would improve but it never did. We started with a bottle of Chardonnay and the black garlic edamame which was minimally seasoned (we added sea salt ourselves.) The pork belly bao buns were decent, but very simple (no sauce or flavor other than the pork belly and bread itself.) Our ramen was delivered missing ingredients, taken away before being placed on the table, and re-delivered at least 15 minutes later, bland and lukewarm. We added soy sauce and hot chili oil to make it palatable but it was so cool at that point as to be just..... meh. At least there was the sushi to look forward to, right? No. The 5 rolls we ordered were worst of all - the tempura was oil-soaked and lacked crispness, the avocado was significantly browned, the raw ingredients emanated a strong fishy smell, and the uni was less than fresh. The four of us routinely eat 6-8 rolls at Ru-Sans (AMAZING!) but left over half of our meal on the table tonight. A disappointment to say the least. Perhaps they used to be better but all of us are feeling somewhat nauseous after tonight. I won't be back and would recommend looking elsewhere for great sushi and ramen - ESPECIALLY at a price of over $75 a head after a tip.

Ashleigh B.

Yelp
I was craving ramen, so I asked Hubby to pick up some. He thought of a place he's been to for a business lunch. At 7:40pm he was told 20 minutes. After 40 minutes the hostess said 10 The wait ended up being an hour. I would've rather went to our normal ramen spot. The wait alone make me not want to return. The Shio Tori Chicken Ramen I received was mostly romaine lettuce. My biggest issue was the broth's only flavor seemed to be salt. Way to salty. I couldn't finish it. WILL NOT BE RETURNING

Pablo S.

Yelp
Great service, decent sushi, crazy big variety of offerings. We had a group of five so we ordered a good variety of things. There are some things that we really liked and some things that we wouldn't order again. I'd probably go back once more to try some different things and then be able to give an update on my review. For now it's a solid 3.5 out of five.

Nae N.

Yelp
Upon walking in it was a little steady, but I was seated and met my server Brandon, and he was great every step of the way. The food was delicious everything that I expected, and more definitely will be returning for the Ramen and the pork buns. The buns were so fluffy so soft I could just eat those. It was smaller than I thought, but overall it was a nice laid-back chill atmosphere also, the drinks were bomb and deathly will sneak up on you. Love this place after the first time visiting.

Whitt D.

Yelp
Great food, good service, and nice ambiance. Not the best sushi in Charlotte but still really great.

Cole B.

Yelp
Decent drinks, appetizer was find, sushi rice was undercooked and hard. Mildly disappointed

Christina H.

Yelp
Love YuMe! They have the best happy hour deals as well! Their food is always fresh too!

Ashley U.

Yelp
First time visiting this place last weekend and it is easily my top 5, maybe top 2-3, favorite sushi places in Charlotte. Everything was delicious. Didn't try their cocktails but their bar was very "moody modern" which I like. The seaweed salad and house salads were great starters. The yellow tail was soo fresh! We tried 3 specialty rolls which were all excellent. Our favorite was the lion king roll which we ended up ordering a second one after we finished everything lol. Definitely a must try Rec!!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Three girlfriends and I went here on a Friday evening and were pleasantly surprised to see that they had a happy hour for their sushi rolls. We all thought they were delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Trang H.

Yelp
The fermented garlic ramen broth was amazing! So rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. There is also plenty of chasu as well as a full egg. I thought it was good value since the bowl was large and toppings such as corn and greens were included. One recommendation is to replace the greens with bok choy rather than lettuce since warm lettuce is not good.

Ashley F.

Yelp
My server here was soooo much fun! And I'm so mad I can't remember her name! She had me cracking up and was so sweet. (Thanks girl!) I came to eat alone after an HBCU brunch event across the street at 1501 Mint and was seated by this gem of a server. I ordered the firecracker roll and the Naomi roll. The firecracker was pretty average but that Naomi roll, honey!!!!! So so good! I should've gotten two of those instead. It was absolutely delicious. Inside is super cute and it seemed like a pretty cool spot to come and kick it at the bar or grab a table. I shall be back!

Bassey A.

Yelp
I'm always down for sushi so when I was in Charlotte for work, I had to try this spot. Went during lunch time so it wasn't busy, we had a great hostess and waiter who provided recommendations. I got a few rolls (lion king was my favorite) the truffle salmon, chirashi don, gyoza and the awaka sparkling peach drink. All of it was delicious, we left there feeling overly stuffed. Would highly recommend it if you are in the Charlotte uptown area and love sushi!

Colin S.

Yelp
Outstanding value during happy hour and pretty damn good sushi. Service also very good! Definitely try the ramen too it's super good!

Annie C.

Yelp
Great time! I came here for dinner on a Friday and really enjoyed it. The waitress was amazing, quick and nice, the food (sushi, ramen, apps) were delicious! Sushi was so fresh and even the vegetarian rolls were delicious. Prices are higher than I'd like but comparable to Oku. Definitely make a reservation though or else the wait can be long. The atmosphere was nice, it looks discreet from the outside but the inside is quite large and inviting. Food wise, I recommend the Naomi roll (one of their popular ones) and the coconut curry ramen. For appetizers, the edamame was great! It was dipped in garlic sauce. Overall a great experience and probably one of my favorite sushi spots in charlotte and that's saying a lot!

Kelly A.

Yelp
Ehhh...3.6 stars, lol. I had high hopes for this spot based on the location but, it was just ok. On a positive note, the interior is nice and dimly lit wit fun "current hits" music playing. Also, they have an extensive happy hour menu consisting of hot apps, cold apps, and sushi that I took advantage of with the $5 pork gyoza (which were good!). I was, however, totally turned off at the paragraph-long disclaimer at the top of the happy hour menu, commanding that you MAY NOT box happy hour-priced food to go. Yikes, lol. It was weird. Also, the vibe in the place was off. Other than one super friendly male server who greeted me, I felt like I was being mean-mugged and stared at by the staff. I sat at the bar because I was alone, and the bar tender acted like she didn't want me there...unfriendly and dry with barely any eye contact. There was no need to be abrupt with me...I was one of like 6 patrons in the entire establishment and 1 of 2 at the bar. I got the spicy miso broth ramen and it was super bland. It needed more salt/umami flavor. The veggies consisted of bagged soggy spring mix and unseasoned corn kernels. Last, the pork was quite tough and poorly seasoned. Maybe I should've tried the black garlic ramen for more flavor but, at $19 a bowl and based on what I got, I would've been really annoyed paying $20 for subpar ramen. I'd say, pop in for happy hour (just DO NOT plan to take any food to go, lol..you WILL get reprimanded!). Other than that, go somewhere else for ramen.

Yelp
It's been awhile since last dined here, so I met up with a friend here for lunch. First of all, I was surprised to see that there had been some renovations since my last visit. I remember they used to have white seats, but now all the seats are black...plus, they added booths. I actually liked these changes... more casual, but still chic! One thing that bugged me right away was the lack of A/C. It was incredibly hot and humid outside, and the restaurant wasn't sufficiently air conditioned. So yeah, loved the renovations...but hated the A/C. Sort of offset each other?? Now the food! I ordered Kakuni Bao as appetizer, along with their Pork Katsu lunch special. My friend ordered Tonkatsu Ramen. We had to wait quite a long time for our meal...which I figured had to due to short staffing in the kitchen. That's not all. When my Pork Katsu finally got delivered by another waitress (?), with no Bao in sight, I asked her about the missing item. She said the Bao wasn't on the ticket...so that's when my Bao order finally got placed (??). Again, I had to wait an usually long amount of time to get these so-called appetizers. No apology for this mix-up from my waiter (for the omission, that is)...nothing! ANYWAY, as for the food itself, quite disappointing. *SIGH* The Katsu looked nearly burnt. It seemed over-battered and/or over-cooked...and just not as good as I had hoped. Guess my idea of a perfect Katsu is one that is lightly battered and crispy. Katsu at Musashi still reigns in my book. There was a ton of rice, but a skimpy amount of corn. Personally, I wish there was less rice, more corn & veggies. The much-delayed Bao turned out to be pretty good though...MUCH better than the Bao I had at Kung Foo Noodle recently. However, I didn't like how plain they were...with no veggies or toppings...JUST the Pork Belly! It would have been SO much better if there was SOME veggies added in. Budgeting, I guess?? My friend's Tonkatsu Ramen looked heavy, but pretty good...with no major issues. My past experience here has been somewhat of a roller coaster (really good to really bad to really good again), and the rocky ride continues! This place has a ton of potential (BTW, I LOVE their diverse menu!), and I know that when it's good, it's really, really good!! However, it's just inconsistent. Today, unfortunately, it was quite bad. I mean, the service was very slow...my food item was missing/delayed...and my main dish was nearly burnt lol!!! Honestly, if this was any other restaurant, I would have rated it a 1 or a 2...but I've always liked this restaurant for the many varieties on its menu. Also, I get the possible lack of staffing and budgeting due to Covid. Plus, I KNOW this is run by a great team...and today must have been an off day. *SIGH* In any case, I plan to return, and hopefully I can upgrade this rating.

Yelp
They offer Izakaya, Yakitori, Ramen, and Sushi. And each style is decent. It is a good place for all kind of setting, either it is a quick lunch, proper dinner, or you just want to have some drinks after work.

Yelp
We were in Charlotte for a layover and decided to go to Yume for dinner and so glad we did. We called from the hotel and made reservations for two. When we got there we were seated and greeted. The menu has so many options from hot appetizers to cold, ramen and special rolls. The quality of the food we order was beyond delicious. We ordered rocking shrimp,California roll, yume roll and phily roll. We also ordered spicy Japanese chicken nuggets. The service was quick and friendly. We got our food within minutes after putting our order in. Definitely would visit again if back in the area as it was a very memorable dinner.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this spot. My boyfriend and I came for the happy hour and I was pleasantly surprised. The food menu AND happy hour menu has a ton of options. No happy hour on food, however; there are many options for drinks as well including: beers, sakes, cocktails and a pretty extensive wine list. Maybe next time I'll sit at the bar, it was pretty popping when we were there and I'm definitely one to start a conversation! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Love this place! First I love how they have restaurant parking, that's hard to find so close to the city! Second the atmosphere is nice and the service was good too. I had the house salad which was way better than the other house salads I've had in the past, just more fancy with corn and cucumbers... order it and you'll see what I mean. It's not the typical ginger dressing salad but it's a pretty and bougie one. I ordered the Yuki roll. One of the best sushi rolls I have had in my life. The fish was so fresh and I loved how it was wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. If you love eating healthy this is the roll for you. I highly recommend this place and it is my new favorite sushi spot in Charlotte!

Yelp
A friend found this place listed on Daily Special Charlotte site when searching south end locations for happy hour. I've past this place multiple times when visiting 1501 S Mint but never noticed it although directly across the street. We planned to meet at 330 but on our way we realize they don't open until 4 so we had to wait in the parking lot. Unlike some Clt parking lots I felt pretty safe in this one and it was only a few steps from the parking lot to the door. Parking is free and the lot is a decent size considering the location. The happy hour consist of food only. Hot & Cold Appetizers & Sushi. The prices are very much happy hour appropriate and the portion sizes are filling. We wanted to start off with drinks first but I didn't see anything that stuck out to me. I was looking for tequila lol. Our waitress who was new so really didn't know much of the menu or what to suggest therefore wasn't much help in that area. She told me they don't have tequila...huh?! Thankfully the bartender swung by our table and made an excellent suggestion of a drink that was infused with tequila and Rose but she said it didn't taste like wine. I was slightly disappointed when it came out in a champagne flute because I wanted a good size drink for $15 but when I tell you this drink was BOMB!! I couldn't help but sip it slow because I wanted it to last. Unfortunately I can't recall the name of the drink nor find it online. For food I started with the Kushikatso Pork Skewers which were tasty but very tough & chewy. It was very hard to get the meat off the skewer so I eventually had to use a knife & fork to get it off. I believe if this wasn't over cooked it would have been more enjoyable. My friend started with the pork gyoza which she said she liked. Oh she also got a recommended drink that was really good but again forgot the name. We also born got some sushi was really good and filling. I got the Lobster roll which was light and flavorful. I was shocked when I asked for cucumber instead of avocado but the waiter said they couldn't do that. I have never been told that anywhere before. My friend got the Kimuri roll. I would and will definitely go back for a dinner to explore the menu further.

Yelp
This place was one of the biggest food highlights of my Charlotte trip. The veggie sushi was SOOOO so good! The drinks here were also absolutely perfect. Loved it!!!

Yelp
My friends and I came in last week for happy hour. The menu is pretty large and they have great deals on happy hour. I tried the bao, edamame, and gyoza. For food I ended up ordering the garlic ramen. The ramen itself was pretty good, but I should have opted to remove the greens.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our experience at Yume. The takoyaki is a must-try for appetizer - melt in your mouth delicious and decent serving for two people. We also got a premium salmon bowl and a regular tuna bowl, and the quality of the fish blew us away! It has to be one of the best chirashi bowls you can get in Charlotte - already looking forward to trying the premium tuna bowl next time.
