This has been my favorite Mexican place in LA for years. And it is closing on May 31, the end of this month. It is an amazing space, beautifully designed in the worst part of downtown LA (unfortunately, one of the reasons they're closing). The design and decor of the restaurant is super dope. The space is open and beautiful. The service is always top shelf. I've never come and had an issue. The bartenders are fun and have a lot of charisma, happy hours are the best. Their drinks are tasty and have a kick. The servers are knowledgeable of the menu and friendly and very personable and I'm going to really miss this place. The food... the food is unbelievable. Full of flavor. Just the right amount of bougie taste mixed with good old fashioned Mexican food. The tablitas which is for 2 is what my daughter and I usually order. She ordered it for herself tonight. The special was a ribeye and it was perfect. They calabacitas make me want to go home and try to cook them myself, they're so tasty. My friend and mom loved their fish tacos (couldn't even get a pic of them) and the churro ice cream is my daughter's favorite dessert. Everything I've tried there is great. Guacamole. Beef tacos for appetizers. They are known for their pork tacos and my friends love them. If you can get there before they close, check them out. Make a reservation. Otherwise, they have 2 sister restaurants, Mercado and another one on Pasadena I do not know the name of. But it's on Mercado's site. Yxta, we love you! You will be missed! I pray you open up somewhere else. You have the best staff and best manager, and I pray they are taken care of once this is gone. Thank you for food times, good memories and good food!
