Zab-E-Lee

My experience at Zab-E-Lee was like a normal, regular day at a restaurant. The service was straightforward and the atmosphere was calm. The highlight of my visit was definitely the food—the drunken noodles were packed with flavor and had just the right amount of spice, while the dumplings were delicious and very fulfilling. Everything came out hot and fresh, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a good spot if you’re craving tasty Thai dishes that hit the spot without being over the top.

I ordered pad see ew and while it tastes fine it definitely doesn’t taste like pad see ew. I did take out which was extremely fast. The inside of the restaurant isn’t the nicest but honestly with better food you could excuse it. This wasn’t that

I was a single diner looking to eat after a long flight. The food was excellent. I was the only diner and the focus of the business was on take-out. So I ordered at the counter and was otherwise left in peace. Until there is more dine-in customers I don’t see this being a date-night type of restaurant. It has the seating, but no dine-in customers while I was there. Go for the food and never mind the rest.

Walked in and thought, "This is going to be good." It's was mediocre. The Basil Rolls were good, and the Coconut Soup seemed okay, but I ordered it with veggies & no meat. I received it with chicken, then when the second order came out, it had a piece of something unfamiliar. When I asked about it, I was shown something that I knew it was not. Service wasn't the best. Our server seemed a little confused. So, to wrap this up, I don't think I'll be returning.

I’ve ordered take out and delivery here twice now and both times have been delicious!! First time I ordered was DoorDash delivery. I had the Pad Thai with Beef and the Basil Rolls. Both dishes were delivered fresh and tasted very good. Today I came into the restaurant to order take out. The lady working was friendly. I had the Drunken Noodles with Chicken and Basil Rolls again. The Drunken Noodles are full of flavor and the variety of veggies are a nice touch. The Basil Rolls are fresh and a good size. Great portions for the price! I recommend this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant and can’t wait to try more of their menu!

I love Thai food but this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The coconut soup was excessively sweet and greasy. The shrimp basil dish was awful. The shrimp were small and the basil sauce was greasy and bland. The food didn’t taste fresh. Plus I didn’t get my order of spring rolls. Never going back.

Ok so the Thai fried rice is always buy one get one free, and I have special recommendations and they always do it and I really appreciate them for that! Also the portions are amazing!! Love the food!! Thank you!!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location and the cooking space were stunning! Alice, our chef, was by far the most entertaining, informative, and funny host. If you can ask for her specifically, do it!!!

The Pad Thai and sesame chicken were unfortunately bland and lacked flavor. Given the distance, returning the items was not feasible. Upon our relocation to this area five years ago, we enthusiastically recommended this establishment to our acquaintances, having discovered a Thai takeout restaurant we genuinely enjoyed. It appears there has been a decline in the quality and taste of the cuisine since our initial visit in 2023. While the pricing was considered justified in 2023, this no longer holds true as of December 2025. The service was prompt, akin to a fast-food experience. Although our order was for takeout, we appreciate the establishment's charming, family-owned atmosphere. We respectfully request that Zab E Lee revert to the original recipes utilized prior to 2025, thereby restoring the passion and flavor to your culinary offerings. At this time, we aren't sure if we will patronize your establishment again due to cost of lack luster food.

Not my first time here, but I will say this time was different. The food was a little salty, idk if they are using a new cook or what not. It was good, just salty.

Deliver was great. Food not so good. The glass Noodle is called Spicy Glass Noodle- no spice at all. Also the flavor is weird. It tasted like stale old fish sauce. I couldn't even eat it. The fried rice was not spicy at all also the flavor inconsistent. Some parts had no flavor at all. Disappointed

The food is okay. The only hiccup was that I ordered mild spice, but it came out pretty spicy. I do love the cheese rolls--they're like a tasty twist on cheese wontons, served in an egg roll form. So good!

Good Thai option on the south west side of town. Great for uber eats orders. Consistently tasty and reasonably priced.

This was an amazing find- a real gem. It has excellent and fresh food with the highest savory flavors. We will come back in a few weeks after our trip. Singapore noodles were simply divine. Try the curry I heard. We will.

I've eaten Thai food in Chicago, LA, and NYC and this place is the real deal. Don't let the modest decor, the location , and lack of ac fool you, this is some damn good authentic food in ATL metro. I had the chicken pad see ew and next time I'll get the veggie version because my only complaint is that there wasn't enough broccoli lol. It's family owned and operated so if you want to support your local economy while eating some unforgettably flavorful food, add this place to your rotation of good places to eat.

Updated Review: 12/30/23 Drove here because I wanted the Thai BBQ Chicken the Shrimp Fried Rice that comes with it. The lady at the counter said they were out, just sold the last one before I walked in. Ok. I had to order something else. While I was deciding, I looked around and noticed the differences in the restaurant. More lighting, you could dine in, new menus, and new tables. This is all great, but I was wondering if the food is going to be the same. I ordered the Pad Woon Sen, medium spice, beef/chicken, no baby corn, or tomatoes. 15 to 20 minute wait. No problem. I'll wait. I got home, no medium spice, beef/chicken needed flavor, noodles were ok. But it could've been better. I'm not super excited to return, and for $18 bucks, I wanted and expected better.

The food is always outstanding, the service this day was just ok. But let me tell you, next time it takes us longer to pay then it did to order and eat, we will just walk out!!! If it is that hard for us to pay (was almost 30 min waiting to pay) then you must not want us to!

Stay away from zab e lee the ownership is Not the same, and the cooks clearly different Tips are added on Togo orders over $50 they're nuts, and the food has truly fallen off in my opinion.. Complete waste of time...

This is a Thai restaurant, that has been hidden on Old National for years. EVERY TIME I dine here, I get the chicken and shrimp Pad Thai without bean sprouts. They are very generous with the serving size. The plate pictured has 10 large shrimp and a lot of chicken. Price was reasonable and the taste keeps bringing me back. I also got an order of chicken spring rolls which was too crunchy for my looking. The restaurant could use a little updates as it sits in an old plaza. Service at this location is usually quick even during lunch hours.

A mere shadow of what it once was. Food order was wrong (chicken as protein instead of tofu) Pad Woo Sen was once my favorite. Now it is worst meal I've had eating out. Will not return. So sorry the sold it.

THE BEST THAI FOOD THIS AIDE OF THE MISSISSIPPI!!! Hands down, this was way better than I expected, the place looks like a hole in the wall, but it was more like a Diamond in the rough. I ordered the Panang Curry level four spice and it was spicy, but delicious. Most Thai places I have been too don't spice it up, but here you will get what you ask for so be careful if you can't handle it. The fried rice had a grill flavor to it and the Thai tea is crazzzzzzyyy. I have already been back here three times before I could post. Go and enjoy!!

Food is not as good as it was in previous years. Not sure if they have a new cook because something is definitely off. I've had many Pad Thai dishes from here that were really good but recently, it has been very bad. The basil fried rice and vegetables spring rolls were good.

My go to Fav. Hidden Gem to make me feel like home when I am in town! Customer Service and amazing menu cannot be duplicated...1st try on the mango tea.... Creamy with the full mango notes ..a must try..daughter ordered her rolls and let's say she was okay ... I am coming there after you go back home ...

The food has no taste!!!! Everything in my sampler is horrible very disappointing!!!! I spent $35 and have to go find food I can actually eat

The vegetables were good. However, The calamari was not cooked, it was moist and tough to chew. The egg rolls were excessively greasy. I saw, I tried, Im done.

Since coming under new management Zab-e-lee has gone way downhill. The customer service was the first thing I noticed. When this was a family owned restaurant the staff was more warm, friendly, and even grab the door for you when they knew you had a large to-go order. Now they just want your money and for you to be on your way. The food has lost its appeal as well. I ordered two deep-fried spicy tuna rolls yesterday and what I got was a mess. As if everything was thrown together. Not to mention the watered-down Wasabi. Also ordered the Massaman Curry, but it was missing the cashews, avocado, and the overall dish just wasn't what it used to be. I used to patronize Zab-e-lee at least once a week before it was sold. NEVER AGAIN

Super fast food! I went in and ordered and the food was read in less than 10, while there busy doing many takeout orders. Staff was super friendly, not full dine in service, self service. And pretty good prices. Really happy with the food quality, tasted really good, SUPER impressed with how good the mangos were! Very satisfied with my purchase!

We were staying at a nearby hotel and needed a fast dinner. The Yelp reviews were good though we missed the fact that they were only doing take-out. We found this place in a pretty rundown plaza in a dodgy part of town so we were glad to take it with us. The menu was huge so it was hard to make a decision. The mountain beef was good but a bit bland - should have grabbed some hot sauce to give it some flair. My wife ordered the ginger delight with tofu and she liked it a lot. It only took about 10 minutes to get our order. A good place for take-out.

Great quick meals at a decent price. In the hood but not a dangerous spot. I love the sushi and curry dishes.

The chicken spring rolls were good nice tangy sauce, still warm. I was not too pleased with the Sushi, part of the nori was gummy, so I ended up eating the fill only.

I'll start by saying that the food we eventually ate at home was delicious, but my 11 year-old daughter and I went here after school today. When we walked in, we were not greeted by the young lady at the register but still made an effort to say hello and ask how she was doing. She ignored all small talk, and we eventually placed our order but because of feeling uncomfortable changed the order from dine in to takeout. We waited for our food which was prepared in a reasonable amount of time and when she brought the bag to us. I said thank you. She looked at me and turned back around to walk to the register. I said thank you again. She ignored that. Then, my daughter said thank you fairly loudly and she ignored that as well. There was another gentleman in the restaurant, and she was polite to him and had been polite to others while we were waiting. I took a moment to tell her that she had been rude. She asked me why, and I told her that we have been saying thank you to her and she continued to ignore us without an apology. Despite this being a takeout order, I tipped the customary 15%, and despite the food being good, we will not be back. I was initially patient because I wasn't certain about whether there was a language barrier, but there was not one.

I come here very often for the same ol same old. I have not found a dish that has such a delicious fresh taste. I am referring to the GLASS NODDLES (I get mine with mushrooms since I am vegan). I have ordered the fried tofu which was good and crunchy as well as the vegetarian spring rolls. I recently purchased the sushi (Avocado and Tofu) which was unique and pretty good. They do not have much vegan options but the options they do have are really tasteful. The host are always friendly and a delight to greet when you walk in. Great spot at an affordable price

Chow mein and red snapper are amazing! My friend ordered the sweet and sour shrimp which she said was amazing as well. Looking forward to coming back as the service was top notch. Both ladies working were very attentive. Felt clean and comfortable in there dining area.

I've tried the Drunken Noodles with beef on a delivery order. A good balance of spicy with the peppers and sweet with the pineapples. I've also dined in once and service was quick and friendly.

We went there for our anniversary. The food was pretty good. The place seemed clean. The ambience was nice.

Delicious, authentic Thai flavors my favorite is the veggie coconut soup with a little chili paste and some veggies added, cooked well done

I checked Yelp before coming out to Zab E Lee, but yelp didn't really tell me anything about the sushi. So, here we go as you can see in my pictures the sushi looks fine for the most part. With the exception of the yellowtail. The yellowtail is poorly colored, to say the least. Each piece of sushi has a very small clump of rice, which would be fantastic at just about any other sushi restaurant. However, the fish to rice ratio is way off for this establishment. As the fish Is what I would call "sub-medium Quality", the rice portion should've been larger and the fish portion should've been smaller to hide the inequities. The yellowtail was also rather salty and the best way I can explain the texture would be spongy. The tuna and salmon were very brightly colored and looked great, but they just didn't have great flavor. In the case of the squid, it popped like cartilage, but it didn't have any creamy textures. Plus, again the flavor wasn't really there. The only piece of sushi that I remotely liked was the unagi, but even it didn't have as good of flavor as I'm used to. The only consolation about the meal was that for all you see in my photos, I only spent $31 (plus tip). Now, you might be wondering why I gave this restaurant three stars when I'm saying that the sushi was just god-awful... I also ordered some of their coconut soup. Remember, this is not Hey Japanese sushi restaurant. Zab E Lee is a Thai restaurant that just happens to serve sushi. The coconut soup was pretty good. My personal preference would be for a little bit less lemongrass and more chicken, but it was a delicious soup. I will probably order from them again... Definitely not the sushi... But I will probably order some Thai food from them as it seems like they'll do that very well. My honest recommendation to the chef to prepare the sushi is, please look for a better fish vender... Perhaps ask the people at a Happy Sumo. I would also recommend that you cut the fish a bit more thinly. Sushi Is an art form that is all about balance in beauty and flavor.

So this place was originally a Thai food place and I must say it was good food. Now under new ownership they have introduced Indian cuisine which to me is great, since there's no other one near here. The service was pleasant and the ambiance was quiet and relaxing.

If you're looking for a good take out meal, Zab-e-lee Thai food is scrumptious! The location is less desirable but def adds a pleasant variation to the scarce options of good food in the area. The service is always fast and friendly and the meal never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Great food, but because of a labor shortage you read the menu and order at the cash register and they bring it to your table. This didn't make a lot of sense because we were the only people in the restaurant, and the lady at the counter was the one that brought the food to our table...which was three steps from the register...which was three steps from the kitchen. I get the sense the strip mall this place is in is dying. It looks run down. It's next to an interstate, and exiting from the mall is difficult in heavy traffic. We had a similar problem in our hometown where a corner grocery failed due in part to the difficulty in egress. So...good food! It needs to move its location though.

They had me at Thai food. Though the ambiance could be better taken care of. The people were great and food was authentic.

This has become one of my faves for Thai. I love everything I've had here from Thai BBQ chicken, Soups, Sweet n Sour Chicken, pad Thai etc! The staff is super friendly here and very attentive. Perfect place to take your family for dinner. Plenty of parking in the open lot and we've never had to wait.

Excellent flavor and highly recommended. I'm a huge fan of Thai Curries and I always find the best rated Thai restaurants in each city I visit. My favorite Thai food is generally found in Hawaii. The green curry I just ate from Zab-E-Lee is incredible. Every bit as good as I find in Hawaii. Lots of great flavor and loaded with veggies (I chose the veggie option). Highly recommended!!

Zab-E-Lee ain't what it use to be. I've seen it, going down in quality, off and on, over these past 10-15 years. It used to be an outstanding restaurant. I ordered a Tom Yum Soup Shrimp, Sweet Basil Rolls and Pad Thai. The Tom Yum Soup was salty and lacked even a hint of lemon grass. The Sweet Basil Roll was unacceptable I brought it to their attention before leaving. They tried to fix it but couldn't. It was mainly Romaine Lettuce with 3 tiny sprigs of basil. Tasteless. The commercial carpet is filthy and needs to be replaced. My order was Take Out as I was a walk-in. 2 other pick up customers had issues with accuracy of their orders. There are discrepancies with posted online menu order descriptions and actual order presentation. This was brought to the Host's attention by other customer. Host and maybe Manager were pleasant. The new management needs to step up their game. Substandard food is unacceptable. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth and your mind.

All of the reviews for this place are so great, that I was excited to try it. But I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed. The flavors just weren't there, for me. I had the red curry with bamboo and chicken. It was just very bland. No real coconut flavor or spice. I might go back to give them another try, but we'll see.

This was my first visit and definitely my last! I ordered a whole fried snapper with white rice and it came with a side of basil sauce. The sauce was filled with vegetables so I scooped some off into my rice. After eating I noticed a roach on my fork, it definitely came from the sauce. I feel sorry for people that aren't aware! Hopefully I don't get sick!

Ordered delivery and everything showed up nice and warm earlier than estimated. the spring rolls were delicious but the Pad Thai was ruined with way over cooked chicken.

Ordered take out and was pleasantly surprised. Food was pretty good. A solid 8 outta 10. The pad thai coukd have been a litttle more flavorful, however the sushi was well prepared. Food was ready as soon as I arrived (20 mins from placing order). I would definitely make this a go-to for quick thai food near the airport.

(3.5 stars) Ordered takeout here; we were just in town for the night and we were starving. This was pretty good, but not what we were expecting. We ordered stir fry veggies, veggie pineapple fried rice, spring rolls, fresh basil rolls with tofu, a salad and mango sticky rice. It was all good, BUT we thought it all lacked some flavor. For example, the stir fry wasn't as gingery or flavorful as we wanted. Same comment foe the salad dressing; it was a ginger salad dressing, but we didn't taste any ginger at all. It was also all iceberg lettuce and there was a pool or water at the bottom of the container. The fresh basil rolls were good but popped as soon as you picked it up, so they weren't rolled very well. The peanut sauce was delicious. The best thing was the veggie pineapple rice. That had flavor, had plenty of delicious veggies (Napa cabbage, green beans, corn, onion, broccoli, carrot). Everything was cooked very well and we loved the amount of veggies that we had, but it was just lacking a bit in flavor for us. Customer service was great. Very sweet.

Food was terrible. Table next to us was dirty the whole time and there wasn't anyone in the restaurant. Took forever barely ate anything it was so bad and dry. They also after the meal said credit card machine didn't work had to pay cash.
