Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"A Southern-style barbecue joint just dropped in Green Lake, and the name says it all. You choose a grilled meat along with three sides, which include things like hot honey cornbread fritters and braised rosemary white beans. And for dessert, they have ice box cake." - kayla sager riley, gabe guarente, aimee rizzo

The Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings in Seattle for Summer 2025 | Eater Seattle

"A Southern takeout concept playing on the 'meat and three' format, featuring entrees like smoked chicken dressed in Alabama white sauce (a horseradish-based sauce), a variety of vegetable sides, and classic desserts such as icebox cakes; positioned as a rare non-barbecue Southern spot in the city." - Harry Cheadle

When I saw the baby on the floor, I knew it was an authentic family-owned restaurant that is proud of their restaurant. The food was phenomenal. The chicken and the pork shoulder were juicy and flavorful. I highly recommend the carrots, GRILLED potato salad, and fritters. The slaw was boring, but paired well wit the pork. Pickles were heat but I wonder if they’re homemade. Can’t wait to go back and try the beans and green beans !

Tasty casual joint run by a friendly family! Highlights of this meal were the chicken sandwich and braised pork. Definitely want to come back and try the meatloaf and icebox cakes.

Wholesome and tasty! The strawberry sheet cake was insanely great. Love all the options for sides, recommend the fritters

As someone who lives in the neighborhood I was pretty sad when Hangry Panda closed and then very excited when I heard a southern style meat and three restaurant was opening in its place. Well today was their first day open and I managed to drop by for some takeout. We got a meatloaf melt as well as a half smoked chicken. The melt was really well balanced between the bread and meat with a healthy amount of slaw and pickles to give it some freshness and acidity. The chicken was very juicy and tender and a huge portion size. My only critique is I could use a bit more smokiness. For sides we tried the coleslaw, corn fritters, green beans, and potato salad. I liked the Cole slaw a lot though it has a fair bit of pepper which may not be to others taste. The corn fritters were also good but predictably don't travel well so I recommend them for dine in over takeout. We finished up with a banana pudding cake that was moist and very flavorful. The cake itself was a bit dense so if you prefer a lighter fluffier cake it might not be your style. Overall I really liked the food and thought it was really good value for the price too. Highly recommend if you are in the area and looking for a hearty comfort meal. I know I definitely will be back again.

Absolutely delicious new spot right off Aurora! My partner and I grabbed some takeout here on their opening day for a picnic dinner at Green Lake. We got the house smoked meatloaf melt and a smoked chicken melt, both with crispy onions, parmesan butter, feta parsley spread, mozzarella, pickles, and slaw. We chose green beans (wow!) and house-made pickle chips as our sides. They don't F around, every bite was packed with flavor. And for a place that clearly doesn't cut corners on quality, the prices are better than fair. I'm genuinely impressed. 10/10 would recommend! We'll be back. Ps. Zak's next to Mendoza's Mexican Market (also a great spot). Parking was easy to find on either side of the building.

My partner informed me that this southern restaurant was opening and I couldn’t have been more excited. This place did not disappoint, we got the meatloaf melt and the half smoked chicken. The chicken was very tender and the white sauce was out of this world. The meatloaf melt reminded me of the same meals my family use to make back in the south full of flavor and cooked to perfection I couldn’t have asked for a better meal I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves southern food for a amazing price I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family.

Fantastic having a good gluten free southern restaurant in town. Corn fritters are essential.

Everything we ordered was super delicious and full of flavor. The Chicken Melt was very rich and tasty and the Fritters were a surprise hit for me. My partner really enjoyed the Meat Plate and loved having multiple sides. The desserts were great as well, we look forward to trying the rest of the menu
