"While Missouri might be the last place you’d pick for a wine-country getaway, the state is actually home to several vineyards. In the 1830s, German farmers settled in the area between Hermann and New Haven and began growing grapes and making wine, setting the stage for what is now the 25-mile Hermann Wine Trail. Today, the picturesque path snakes along the Missouri River and features seven wineries, including Adam Puchta Winery (the oldest continuously owned family winery in the country), Bias Vineyards, Dierberg Star Lane, Hermannhof Winery (known for its fantastic New World white), OakGlenn Vineyards (situated on a bluff with stunning views), Röbller Vineyard (a dog-friendly spot), and Stone Hill Winery (home to the delicious Vintage Restaurant).
