Meet Casa Dragones CEO Bertha González Nieves - AFAR

"Founded in 2008 in partnership with MTV founder Bob Pittman, this small-batch, ultra-premium tequila house was created to reimagine tequila as a luxury spirit that can stand alongside cognac and whiskey and hold its own in fine-dining pairings. Its Joven expression is a smooth sipping tequila with hints of vanilla and pear meant to be enjoyed like a single malt or cognac, complemented by a Blanco and a Barrel Blend to complete the lineup. The brand emphasizes craftsmanship and attention to detail: bottles are sleek, lead-free crystal, individually hand-engraved using a traditional Mexican pepite technique, an approach that earned it the Grand Prix Stratégies du Lux—making it the first Mexican brand to receive that packaging honor. Led by Bertha González Nieves, who parlayed senior marketing roles and deep study (including becoming the first female maestra tequilera) into this venture, the company weaves cultural identity and family-centered tequila traditions into its storytelling and product design." - Yolanda Evans
