"This new 23,000-square-foot food hall on Market Street, opening April 11, brings multiple levels of clean Scandinavian design and a mix of concepts — a Nordic bakery-café and cooking school, a plant-based burger bar, a soft-serve bar, several cocktail bars, and five local vendors — all intended to create a gleaming downtown destination next to a new Ikea and an adjacent coworking space. Developed by Ingka Centres and operated by an experienced European market operator with culinary oversight from renowned Nordic chef Claus Meyer, the project leans into vegetarian and vegan options, features cooking classes to drive engagement, and aims to overcome downtown San Francisco’s recent retail and restaurant challenges as a pilot that could expand if successful." - ByBecky Duffett
