"Four Seasons revolutionised the hospitality industry in Egypt when they opened this Sinai hotel, with 136 rooms and suites on a slope leading down to the Red Sea; they still stand out for levels of service, facilities and cuisine. There’s excellent food in all three restaurants, and the service and attention to detail is the best in Sinai. Nearby Sharm el Sheikh has become a tacky party resort, but the hotel is far enough away to be neither cheap nor loud. Set in a large compound on a cliff over the sea, the hotel has extensive grounds and great vies that shelter you from the hubbub. You can’t come to the Red Sea and not snorkel or dive. There’s a great in-house reef for snorkelling, and a first-rate onsite dive centre. Ras Mohamed is less than an hour away, but there are also a large number of sites close to the hotel offering superb diving up to 30m. Thrilling night dives are on hand too. It’s well located for all the main attractions here, but with four pools (including one for laps), two beaches, three excellent restaurants, you may not want to leave the hotel. " - Matthew Roach
