"Located at the physical heart of Les Trois Vallées, this traditional, walkable village made it easy to access both Courchevel and Val Thorens, which was really important to us. Staying there put us right in the middle of the ski area, and our ski-in/ski-out apartment was walkable to the lifts and had a pool and hot tub where the kids could unwind after long days on the mountain, plus a washer and dryer that made rotating gear far easier than staying in a hotel. Méribel has several kid-focused runs with rolling hills, little tunnels, and forest detours that the girls loved, and they were proud to guide us to their favorite features they’d discovered with their instructors. We also stumbled on a small snowmobile area for children with kid-sized snowmobiles on a short track that cost only about ten dollars and felt delightfully casual and unfussy compared with what we’re used to in the US. A sledding slope with a conveyor belt let the girls do endless laps while we relaxed over cappuccinos at a café at the bottom, adding to the feeling that the town is set up thoughtfully for families and simple, low-stress fun." - Jordi Lippe-McGraw
