Salish Lodge & Spa

"Breakfast—fresh everything—is the perfect start to a morning of misty wilderness adventure." Built in 1916 as a rest stop for travelers, this Cascade Mountains property is set above 268-foot-high Snoqualmie Falls. The setting for the TV series Twin Peaks, the mountain lodge offers rooms in blues, emeralds, and turquoises (to mirror the colors of the sky, the Snoqualmie River, and Puget Sound) with custom-built furniture. "It’s our getaway place. The sound of the falls 24/7, a real fireplace in your room, a book from their library, and a cool glass of Washington wine. Sounds like heaven, right?" A honeybee apiary on the hillside by the lodge produces honey for the spa and the Dining Room, where local artisanal cheeses are also served. At the Attic, order a Salish smoked-salmon chowder. "The staff are prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite. I love this place."
