"Picture the coolest coffee shop on a college campus, and that's Toma: snug, chilled out, and just tweedy enough that no one will flinch if you roll up with a laptop and a pile of books. If hipsterdom were a cuisine, this place would embody it with its Instagrammable toasts (avocado and black sesame, goat cheese and strawberry), natural wines by the glass, and fruit-topped chia bowls. The menu might be gawked at in New York City for being a tad played out, but nobody in Madrid is complaining. Specialty coffee is the watchword here: ever-rotating brews from small-scale producers around the world ensure even the savviest coffee connoisseurs don't get bored (Ethiopian honey process drip for the win). And yes, that's a top-of-the-line La Marzocco Strada espresso machine behind the bar." - Benjamin Kemper
