"How did it strike you on arrival?Hip, happening, buzzy. The lobby is full of installations and furniture that double as art, like a floor-to-ceiling digital art display and antique tables encased within modern glass tables. This is one funky Marriott. What’s the crowd like?Tech execs (Facebook has its office on the same property), business folks, well-travelled couples. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.As can be expected from a Philippe Starck-designed project, everything in the room was ultra modern, from the trippy modern artwork on the walls to the tablet-controlled curtains, lighting and ai conditioning. One nice touch was a sort of "mailbox" at the entrance of the room, where housekeeping could leave guest requests like toiletries etc. without having to intrude. It was a bit on the small side though. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?I liked the firm mattress and smooth 400 thread count sheets. There was an eight-pillow menu to choose from, which was a thoughtful touch. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention?I appreciated the quirkiness of the room, like the aluminum rocking chair at the work desk. Would totally steal that. The mini-bar had a decent selection of interesting snacks, like Torres truffle potato chips and Stewart's soft drinks. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathroom was stunning - all white and glass - and as high tech as the bedroom, with a state-of-the-art toilet and electronic bidet. The products were Aromatherapy Associates. We all need some good Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi was strong and complimentary. __Anything stand out about other services and features? __The pool on the 18th floor has a fabulous view of the central business district. Interestingly it's not really a pool to swim in - it's got chairs and loungers in it. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? That bathroom is just ridiculously good-looking... Bottom line: worth it?It's hip but not painfully so. And you feel cool staying here too - it's not (yet) a mainstream choice, making all the better for you." - Audrey Phoon
