"The arrival of the newest Pig hotel (opening in September), this time in the South Downs, is sure to put the tiny hamlet of Madehurst firmly on the map. The design team has transformed a Regency-era building into 30 bright and airy rooms with big windows opening to views across the South Downs. In true Pig style, décor is decidedly laid-back, with big, comfy couches to curl up on and a choice of monsoon shower or freestanding baths in the bathrooms. Dining, meanwhile, happens at the main Greenhouse Restaurant, where most ingredients come from the kitchen garden, with English apple trees and a Victorian-era greenhouse. Drinking, too, will also be mostly locally sourced, with 4,000 vines already planted in preparation for harvest next year."
