10 Best Craft Beer Spots in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"Located on Mainland Street, one of Yaletown’s two main north-south arteries, Yaletown Brewing Company has been an after-work, lunch, and evening mainstay in Vancouver’s converted warehouse district since 1994. The brew pub—which also includes a 160-seat restaurant—is classic Yaletown, with exposed brick walls and rough-hewn timber cross beams. At the back of the pub, behind a wall of glass, is the guts of the operation: massive vats full of fresh beer. It’s owned by Mark James Group, which also owns The Distillery, a restaurant and distillery a few doors down. The excellent craft suds are all made on the premises. Try an easy-drinking 604 Lager or the Loading Bay IPA, a more challenging 6.2% ABV with a 48 IBU rating—slightly bitter and a bit more boozy. This place has a much larger menu than most brew pubs. Whether you’re in the mood to graze on beer pretzels or the tempura-battered fried pickles by Granville Island’s Kaylin & Hobb, or if you’re hankering for something more substantial—duck confit, say, or a bone-in ribeye—there’s a serious assortment of options." - Guy Saddy
