"Barcelona’s L’Aquàrium, the largest Mediterranean-themed aquarium in the world, is a brilliant stop with kids. 14 areas stocked with local marine life and tropical fish are enough to make little ones feel like they’ve found Nemo. Head to the Explora! area for interactive activities; kids can try out a diving kit and whiz down playground slides. A new activity called Sleeping with the Sharks lets 8- to 12-year-olds do just that; at 7:30 pm, they snuggle in beside a tank brimming with sharks and 8,000 fish, have supper, and listen to shark-themed bedtime stories." - Gemma Askham
