"Give us the wide-angle view: what kind of beach are we talking about? Tucked between a few houses and behind a stone wall, the oasis of Makena Cove has a real feeling of discovery to it. Although most visitors are familiar with Makena Beach just to the north, very few take the extra steps to this gorgeous outcrop where volcanic rock meets the sea in spectacular fashion. The waves are dramatic, the crowds are nonexistent, and the sense of adventure is real. Anything else worth checking out? There are no attractions here except for the view. Come for sunset mid-week and you're likely to have the place pretty much to yourself. How's parking? There isn't a parking lot or anything by way of signage, so you'll have to leave your car on the street and hop over a small stone wall to access the cove. Anything special we should look for?
