"Just a quick drive from Burbank, Trail Canyon Falls boasts a rewarding 4.6-mile out-and-back hike with over 1,000 feet of gain and a breathtaking waterfall reward at the terminus. The hike begins shaded, working its way over streams and turning through the Angeles National Forest along gentle slopes before spilling out onto sun-scalded terrain. As you approach the falls, the trail gets steeper–take care along the loose rocky stuff and make use of the fixed-line cables to help escort you safely down to the bottom. The payoff? A cascading waterfall tumbling down against rocky chasm walls into a pool below (though sometimes it's just a trickle). Dogs are allowed, but the last portion is rough on paws, so bring 'em only if they're used to mountains." - Maxwell Williams
