"Set the scene for us. No, you’re not in South Beach, but every inch of this ultra-chic hotel sure looks like it was lifted from that hip, Miami 'hood with its clean lines, glassed-in spaces, and slick modern design. In fact, everything about this place oozes sex appeal, which is why The Loren at Pink Beach has quickly become the hot place to stay in Bermuda since opening in 2017. Tell us more. The Loren is Bermuda’s newest hotel, so when it was first unveiled on the site of the former Pink Beach Club, the privately owned beachfront property had the island abuzz. After all, this was one of Bermuda’s first major hotel projects in more than a decade—one that put contemporary design at the forefront. No more would guests have to choose between corporate-owned beach resorts and traditionally furnished guesthouses. The Loren would offer a completely different experience: high-minded style meets Bermuda’s natural beauty. So how are the rooms? The suites are drop-dead gorgeous and kitted out with all the modern amenities you’d expect from a place like this. Marble bathrooms have freestanding tubs, rain showers, and Malin+Goetz toiletries; bedrooms feature crisp white linens, driftwood finish floors, and a pleasant gray palette; and spacious outdoor balconies allow that gorgeous ocean panorama to pour into the sunlit room. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? There's free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. How are the drinking and dining options on the hotel grounds? The Pink Beach Club , one of Bermuda’s best new restaurants, does breakfast, lunch, and dinner with aplomb, complete with a blissful view of the Atlantic—the alfresco beachfront restaurant is completely open to the coastline on every side. Food here is fresh and often locally sourced, so trust that you won’t have to go very far for a very good meal—all reasons why it’s not uncommon to see well-dressed locals lingering over long lunches and breezy dinners. Prefer to sit inside? Then head to Maree, the clubby lounge and cocktail bar where you can shoot pool and enjoy small plates like crispy Korean chicken sliders, tuna tacos, and lobster spring rolls. And the service? The Loren is well-staffed by a courteous team of hotel professionals, many of whom have worked in the industry for years, so expect a high level of service throughout. What type of travelers will you find here? Scantily clad couples lounging near the infinity pool, cocktails in hand, and Instagram-addicted influencers taking selfies on the powdery pink-sand beach. What can we find in the surrounding neighborhood? Located near Tucker’s Town on the island’s east end, the hotel is about a 10-minute ride from the airport. It’s also a stone’s throw from two of the island’s top golf courses—Tucker’s Point Golf Course and the Mid Ocean Club, both of which are world-class—so if hitting the links is on your agenda, you’ll be well-positioned to make an early tee time. Any other hotel features worth noting? Ready for the ultimate five-hour splurge? Then head to the spa and request The Renew, a day-long package ($569) that includes a 50-minute deep-tissue massage, a 75-minute pore cleansing facial, lunch served poolside, and a citrus scrub mani-pedi (Champagne is optional). Why would you recommend this hotel? If you want to go to Bermuda but pretend you’ve landed in Ibiza, then this would be the place for you. Chic, sexy, and brand-spanking new, The Loren is one of the finest places to open on the island in years." - David LaHuta
