"Why book? For a taste of uptown elegance mixed with downtown edge—the Dominick Hotel sits on a corner location Spring and Varick Street. Unlike other SoHo stays, it is unexpectedly spacious. The location sits on the border of West Village and TriBeCa, and offers well-lit luxury suites to residential-style rooms with floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of NYC. It’s shockingly vast for a SoHo location. Set the Scene Starting with wrap-around windows in the hotel lobby that frame the outside hustle and bustle, everywhere from the lounge to the elevators and suites have a warm, art-forward, and fresh vibe. There’s prime contrast in lighting, and the walls are decked out in contemporary local art and design, and the mixed-lounge settings are a relief from the fast-paced New York groove. It's a great choice to stay for all seasons. In the summer, head to their recently renovated rooftop pool (it closes for the season after Labor Day Weekend.) Play in and explore the surrounding streets with their #SohoArtSearch, where the hotel partnered with local artist Paul Richard for a hotel-sponsored scavenger hunt. On the chillier days, museum and gallery hop from the Color Factory right across the street to The Drawing Center and Eden Gallery. For a classic SoHo pastime, walk the shopping streets of Canal and Broadway– then back down Spring and place your bags back at the hotel. The backstory The Dominick is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection. The property opened its doors in 2017, but since then have rebranded through transformation of service style, amenities, experiences, partnerships and beyond. The rooms The Dominick has 391 spacious guest rooms, and more than a third are suites. The rooms are classic and vast—with king guest rooms starting at 422 square feet, and suites ranging from 682 to more than 2,000. The hotel offers 245 king guest rooms; 132 one-bedroom suites—many of which can be combined with adjoining rooms to create even more spacious two-bedroom suites; three one-of-a-kind spa suites with private saunas and ten exquisite two-bedroom penthouse suites including the duplex penthouse, which boasts its own terrace. Thoughtfully designed by the Rockwell Group, The Dominick is the only hotel in New York with custom furnishings by Fendi Casa, including sofas, chairs, headboards, side tables and a beautiful settee at the end of the bed. In suites, a sliding hearth features built-in lighting and shelves, creating a separation between the living area and bedroom for guest privacy. The bathrooms are oversized, with standalone rain showers, a separate bath (sometimes next to a window for another breathtaking view), and a vanity wrapped in hand-stitched leather topped with white marble and hand-matched Turkish Marmara stone gracing the walls. There are 12 rooms per floor, which caters to the hotel’s intimate ambiance. Each guest room and suite are equipped with the new Control4 Suite System, allowing guests to easily control in-room lighting and temperature all through the convenience of a bedside console or single remote. Food & Beverage In its most recent renovations, The Dominick introduced a new signature restaurant, Vestry with a seasonally driven menu by Michelin Star Chef Shaun Hergatt. The in-demand restaurant is conveniently located for guests just off the hotel’s lobby lounge, but be sure to make a reservation. Now open year-round is El Ta’Koy on the hotel’s terrace on the seventh floor. The menu is a modern take on Asian-Hawaiian gastronomic experiences from Chef Luis Pous—highly recommended when poolside at the hotel as a destination-inspired lunch. There’s also 24/7 in-room dining, and the hotel’s Mezzanine, where guests can enjoy craft cocktails and brunch in the comfort of the hotel space. However, it’s no secret that SoHo is home to some of New York’s greatest, swankiest, hippest restaurants and bars. So, make sure to head just one block away for dinner and a cocktail at Altro Paradiso– a lively Italian restaurant with mouth watering dishes, from antipasti to secondi. The Spa The Dominick has teamed up with renowned French skin care brand Sisley-Paris which has sourced high-quality natural plant extracts and blending them with top technology The space, which just debuted in the spring of 2023, offers NYC’s only luxury Hammam, Chromatherapy Experience Showers, Steam and Sauna facilities, and a Co-Ed Relaxation Lounge. The spa additionally features an Inhalation Salt Chamber, which accelerates skin cell rejuvenation, reduces stress, and is said to nurture a better night’s sleep. The 11,000-square-foot spa is shockingly vast, featuring a total of nine private treatment and wet rooms. The space also includes a state-of-the-art fitness center with Peloton and Mirror Fitness fitness classes. The neighborhood/area Surrounded by cobblestone streets and cast-iron architecture, The Dominck is located in the pulse of the city. With a home base in SoHo– an ever-evolving art-world with galleries, studios, and museums, hip metropolitan green spaces such as the High Line, Washington and Union Squares, and designer shops and hubs are all at your fingertips. Hudson Square is a thriving and buzzing creative hub–and the Dominick’s Street Art Search is designed so their guests could experience exactly that. The service The hotel offers 24/7 hour service– including tasty treats for room service. On the seventh floor terrace, the service is well-dispersed and available to help customers book cabana suites, poolside lounge chairs and even poolside massages by their Sisley Spa staff. Eco Effort Due to a commitment to sustainable, efficient, and recyclable services, The Dominick was acknowledged as the second property in NYC to receive the Green Seal Bronze certification. The hotel has proven to focus on committing to energy conservation, and all of their major heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning units follow schedules that decrease energy consumption. Originally halogen or fluorescent, 90% of their lighting has been switched to LED—decreasing heat emissions from 80% to 10% in the process. Not to mention, their food-waste system is run by leading technology organization ORCA. By using air, water, and microbiology, the system turns food waste to environmentally safe liquid; then funneling refuse into Manhattan sewage, reducing heaps of landfill waste from production. Huge on honey, the hotel is also partnered with Bee Haven for an installation of beehives on the property roof. This fall, they have just harvested its first batch of honey for use– and a colony of bees are expected to pollinate trees, plants, and vegetables for more than a 2 miles radius (8700 acres) of its hive. Accessibility The Dominick is a dog-friendly property– where pups under 25 pounds are allowed for a lovely stay (for a $250 pet fee). This includes their ‘Dom Pups’ dog-friendly amenity program where amenities include a Casper dog bed, branded dog bowls, treats and toys. In terms of Handicap and ADA compliance, the property is fully accessible. They offer a plethora of suites with mobile access roll-in showers, grab bars, and accessible doorways as well. For those with cars, there is parking– and The Dominick offers valet with rates for 24 hours or overnight parking ($81 for regular sized vehicles and $85 for SUVs or oversized vehicles). Their concierge team also is available to assist with arranging private airport transfers. Anything left to mention? Waking up in The Dominick is more than a warm welcome to the city– it’s a temptation to stay a bit longer. A serious ode is in order for the beds–as tempting as it is to hit the Soho streets, guests can all too easily fall into these cozy havens never to be seen again. Every room is a luxurious space to sprawl out in the big city. Speaking of temptation—after a third night stay, guests can stay a fourth night for free, depending on availability." - Jessica Chapel
