Chinese restaurant · Chinatown
Great place to eat in Chinatown, specifically: shredded pork with preserved cabbage on pan fried noodles, the xlb, and scallion pancake is a perfect 2 person meal
Chinese restaurant · Chinatown
YAKTV - it's important that you get the roast PIG and not the roast pork. The roast pig is like crackly hard skin with pork belly, the roast park is like sweet char siu

Ramen restaurant · Lower East Side
Really interesting new ramen place, former Ippudo person. It's a really interesting and clean broth and tastes very good. It's extremely small, so just be ready for that.
Pizza restaurant · East Village
Former Prince St person, for two people I'd say: spicy pepperoni, vodka slice, grandma slice.
Temporarily Closed
New fried chicken sandwich place by a very popular Indian food group (adda, Dhmaka, etc.)
Bistro · Greenpoint
As passe as the term "brunch" is, these pancakes actually made me like pancakes as a person who was just kind of like "pancakes are fine". They do something texturally that I hadn't experienced, super crunchy bc they're almost fried in ghee, and just taste very good.
Diner · Two Bridges
Former momo chef, Korean-American, making some really interesting diner food. They have specials for dinner (a good 짜장면 and 수제비 cacio e pepe), but also a great breakfast sandwich, etc.

Chinese noodle restaurant · Chinatown
I crave an N2 (spicy beef hand pulled) like once every other week, it's a classic and still great.
Japanese restaurant · East Village
Extremely wholesome nabe place, not every dish lands, but it's cozy and the shabu shabu/sukiyaki/nabes are all p good.
Restaurant · Midtown West
Caponata, pate, pastries, it's honestly all very good and nice to pair with a visit to moma
Italian restaurant · West Village
Bougie white girl lunch, but genuinely great mixed green salad and cacio e pepe
