"Wooden Spoon, a new breakfast and lunch restaurant, is set to open in the former Aatxe space in the Swedish American Hall. It is the creation of brothers Dylan and Rowan MacNiven, along with partner/chef August Shuchman. The restaurant will offer a menu ranging from healthy options to hearty breakfast items, including dishes like eggs, pancakes, Dungeness crab frittata, and vegan chorizo hash. A few Scandinavian dishes such as Swedish pancakes and open-faced sandwiches will also be available. The restaurant will serve cocktails, including bloody marys and greyhounds, and coffee from Sightglass. Wooden Spoon is designed to be a casual and family-friendly spot, drawing on the MacNiven family's experience in the brunch restaurant business. The venue will open on May 16 and operate from Wednesday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with plans to eventually open seven days a week." - Ellen Fort
