"New Yorkers Foodmarket, a longstanding grocery store located at 107 Second Avenue, between Sixth Street and Seventh Street in the East Village, has closed. The owner, Michael Schumacher, decided to close the business due to slow sales and new competitors in the neighborhood, such as the new Wegmans.
