"Serving classic Turkish dishes in an antique Yesler Way space since 1998, Cafe Paloma offers a variety of meze plates and larger mains that make it feel like one of the city’s underrated treasures. I particularly recommend the muhammara (roasted red pepper and walnut spread dressed with olive oil and pomegranate molasses), the carrot spread (roasted carrots in yogurt sauce with hazelnut and garlic), and mercimek köfte (red lentil and bulgur patties). Larger plates include köfte (spiced lamb and beef meatballs) and börek (spinach and cheese filo pastries), alongside familiar pita-based options and paninis; the compelling art on the walls, interesting musical instruments on display, and the mix of languages spoken by patrons add to the atmosphere." - Mark DeJoy
