"Chatsworth may just be home to one of LA’s best wine bars right now. Canto VI, a cozy wine and cocktail bar, comes from Brian Kalliel, the former wine director at Michelin-starred Mélisse. Drawing on his own experience, he hoped to bring the neighborhood a bar that would feel at home in a fine dining restaurant with a curated wine list and bites to pair. Kalliel sources all the wine himself, offering a weekly list of about 10 bottles by the glass, plus six more on a constantly changing chalk menu. Chester Hastings, previously of Joan’s on Third, leads the kitchen, serving dishes like duck confit, salumi skewers, and a Roman chicory salad with endives. Alongside the wine, Canto VI offers a select menu of classic cocktails and spirits.
