"I'm looking forward to Avant-Garde Artisans Brasseurs opening its first open-to-the-public microbrewery this winter; helmed by Renaud Gouin and Shawn Duriez, the Montreal craft brewery has been operating since 2016 and currently offers seven beers. They lean toward robust, classic styles (no sour beers yet), with three Belgian ales, three British ales and a playful coconut porter, all of which have so far been produced at Brasserie Oshlag next door. Taking over the former Bingo Hochelaga (which closed in January), they plan to use the new 16,600-square-foot brick-and-mortar space to expand into more specialized beers — oak-aged batches have been floated — and will include a public tasting room (with a brewing permit rather than a bar permit), all part of about a $1.5 million investment, and are expected to open in February 2019." - Tim Forster
