"The Pennsylvania hamburger bun maker drew scrutiny after reports that Jim Martin, one of the family owners, along with his wife and daughter, donated upwards of $100,000 to far-right state senator Doug Mastriano’s campaign — the largest single-donor amount to that candidate in the last two years — which prompted food-industry figures to call for a boycott on Instagram and led some restaurants in San Francisco and Philadelphia to cut ties.
