"I learned that Eugene O'Neill's, an Irish pub at 3700 Washington St. that closed in the fall of 2017, is petitioning the City of Boston Licensing Board to reopen at the same address under the stewardship of its former manager, Melissa Hunt. Hunt, who currently works as operations manager for Irish pub mini-chain Napper Tandy's and previously managed Eugene O'Neill's when it was under the same ownership as Napper Tandy's, has applied for a common victualler license and an entertainment license that would allow up to three live performers. The Licensing Board will meet on July 31 to consider the request; the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council discussed the potential reopening at its July 23 meeting, where attendees raised concerns about noise from live music but the council nonetheless voted in support of Hunt and O'Neill's. Eater has reached out to representatives for the pub and will update as more information becomes available." - Terrence Doyle
